Live Action Anime

As we all know, most, if not all live action anime mivies turned out to be a large steamy pile of crap. But if you could choose to make one really good anime movie, what would it be, what would it follow, an who would play our beloved characters?

I am, on one hand hoping for a Trigun Live Action Movie that follows the sereis, but without he filler episodes.

(don't hate me.)

Vash- Leonardo DiCaprio or Ben Affleck
Millie- Cameron Diaz (we all know hoe cluless she can be.)
Meryle- Drew Barrmore (has that straight up thing down.)
Wolfwood- Colin Pharrel
Legato- Keanu Reeves
Knives- Some dude that looks like Vash?
Gung-Ho Guns- anyone who can do it.

What do you guys think.

No matter what you do a live action movie would totally screw up our beloved charachters beyond belife, no matter what you do it would still look horrible. (unless they look exactly like them but that will never happen)

Yeah, thats why i'm glad no one ever tried a YuYu Hakusho film. But i really wish they would make a Gundam movie. Not Gundam Wign or G Gundam, but one of the more militairy ones, preferablly 0080th MS team. That would be excellent.

Another thing you have to consider about live action is the voices... that is sometimes what makes a charachter seem right. You cant ahve this really really deep voiced guy doing vash you have to have a guy with the more tenage voice awwwww man. And who can reproduce legato's voice?

I have no clue, maybe the Voice actor? I know Colin Pharrel could do a good Knives though, just needs a little hair bleach and voula! Knives. He even has that seedy, evil voive as does knives. Knives just has a smoother voice.

Noooo.. I wouldn't like seeing a Trigun Movie(or any anime to live action) no matter how good it was supposed to be. I just don't like the idea of anime->live action in general. They look better animated. But that's just what I think.:shifty:

Well, what about Gundam, as i said? It would look just fine, if not better, in real life. They could make the MSs look real ans that would be just awsome no matter what you say. The hair styles and everything aren't goofy and everythingis extrememly realistic. So that would be awsome. (except G Gundam, which i hated.)

I think more realistic is okay to be made into live action movies. As long as they don't make it all screwed up and has nothing to do with the storyline. Maybe they can make a Gundam movie, but it would be kinda hard to pull it off. But any other anime that has super powers or anything as such would be crap. I remember they made a live action movie of Dragon Ball:eek:...And it looked like total crap. So no movies like that...

[b]Well they did make a gundam movie with live action...It sucked...Big time... :p

As for a trigun movie...Hmmm maybe it could be done...The only thing id be iffy on is the comedy aspect of the show...Its goofiness would be abit hard to translate.

Im reserving judgment on anime live action movies until I actually see one of them made...Most of them are aways away...

Lupin has a script being developed...Akira looks to be trying to start up but it doesnt have a director...DBZ doesnt look like its happening anytime soon...And evangelion may be the first to get made out of the lot...

I just dont think an anime could ever be turned into a good movie. Especially not something like Trigun. Try have a person in real life do the surprised/shocked flip thing. That'll look real good I'm sure. Animes are just that animations. If they get turned in RL, they suck, and not in a good way... If you REALLY want to know the chances that an anime would make a good live action movie, try throwing a snowball into a fairly big fire. Then come back in 5 minutes. If the snowball is there, the anime that you were thinking of will be a good choice for a LAM (Live Action Move)

Well, part of the reason I don't think Trigun would work as a movie is that I don't think they could find actors that would be good as the characters. I just don't see ANYBODY playing Vash or Wolfwood. And I guess another reason is I'm afraid of them messing it up... which has a high probability of that happening. But that goes for any anime movie, not just Trigun.

I'd have to say I disagree with the pessemists in this thread. Right now a live-action Neon Genesis Evangelion is in production, and it doesn't sound terrible. For starters, they've employed the special effects animators for the Lord of the Rings movies (can't remember the name of the company), and they're in direct contact with GAINAX and the creator of Evangelion(can't believe I forgot his name either). There isn't much imformation out about it, but I do know it's being shot in New Zealand, also like the Lord of the Rings. If anyone reads (my favorite magazine) Newtype-USA, they would've seen a few pictures of concept art for some backgrounds/sets, and it doesn't look that bad, but then, what can we judge by pictures. The thing is, many animes are currently in production : Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, the afformentioned Evangelion, and Akira. While most live-action animes have fallen below our expectations, we must remember that they were'nt held in the highest respect by the producers/directors either. So while we may be skeptical of Fox producing a DBZ movie, I will at least give the benefit of the doubt to Evangelion since it is keeping such close contact with the creators of the anime. Just try to keep in mind that while a few errant Gundam or Sailor Moon movies may have bombed, that doens'nt neccesairily mean that they all will, so try to keep an open mind.

A live trigun...right. (pictures the angel arm and laughs.) Maybe in another dimension. With stuff like that, You have to do an anime with no magic period. I think the only action anime thing that would work is either a gundam or a robotech movie. That way, they can polygon the robot battles and shoot the actors in front 0of a green screen. And if all the robo battles were computorized, it would cut on budgets and still look good.

A trigun live action movie?! I hope it never comes to that. I don't like the idea of real people playing animeted charcters. I mean have you seen the pics of the new sailor Moon Live action series? the pics of them in coustume look nothing like the senshie. it just kinda reminds me of serra mu and I hate that. Why can't they just leave anime be?
