RPG Zoids: Endless Conflict

[I]Lying on his bunk in the barracks at 7 a.m, Lucas was in a light sleep, his dreams were a bit less than usual as of late, if you could call his usual ones usual, death, destruction and no way to remember what he was seeing or if he knew any of these people, family, friends. No face caused even a slight twinge of memory, somethig Lucas would have killed to remember even a bit of his past beyond his name. Link was standing over by the door inactive probably dreaming himself, Lucas wondered what Link would dream of.... That was beside the point, the base alarm buzzer went off and now the entire squad was awake and by the sound of it quite aprehensive.[/i]

[b]Lucas[/b]: OK men, UP AND ATTENTION ON THE DOUBLE, we've been informed of our mission and now it's time to put ourselves to the test, are we ready.

[b]Men[/b]: [i]All together[/i] AFTER BREAKFAST.

[b]Lucas[/b]: [i]Laughs[/i] YES WE ARE, to the mess hall.

[i]Lucas, thought that the group was great, he had some fine men and women under his command and he respected them all, some like the mercenaries had been paid to join this mission but Lucas never held it against them. As he saw it, it was just another guy watching his pack if the going got tough and that was what he needed at the moment, he threw on his clothes, leaving his military uniform sitting in his locker, again, he doubted if he'd ever use it again after Kruegar's funeral and he was probably right.

In the mess hall the men were eating contently. Lucas was at a table with one of the mercenaries, his name was Craig, Lucas had known Craig a bit longer than even he had known some of his own men, Craig was hired for a job while Lucas was still getting acquanted with his new life and had saved him from a nasty encounter with a Guysack that would have cost him his life, but a quick shot rom the cannon on Craig's Darkhorn kept him in the fray.[/i]

[b]Lucas[/b]: [i]Munches[/i], what are you thinking about ?.

[b]Craig[/b]: This mission is differant, differant to anything we've ever gone up against over the last 15 years, if the Empire does have this weapon, and it's even nearly as powerful as they say it is, the Republic could be on it's last legs.

[b]Lucas[/b]: Mmmm, [i]Chews[/i]

[b]Craig[/b]: Are you agreeing with me, or are you just enjoying the food.

[b]Lucas[/b]: [I]Swallowings[/i], both, food always tastes better before a battle and yes I am worried about what will happen if we don't stop this weapon in time, on a lighter note, these eggs are really good, do you want some becuase I'm going for seconds....


[b]Craig[/b]: [i]Grins[/i], Typical you, always thinking with your stomach. Is that how you've survived so long without me around ?

[b]Lucas[/b]: Of course not, [i]Burp[/i], it's always been gut instinct [i]Laughs/PartiallyChokes[/i], it's Krueger.

[i]All eyes drifted towards the new face at the entrance to the mess hall, in retrospect he could have easily passed for a younger version of his father, if he'd just dyed his hair. The President was leaning against the door grinning. That's what Lucas and most of the other Military Personnel liked about him, he used to be one of them, not a politician or a beaurocrat but a soldier like his father. He walked over to the cafeteria counter and picked up some stuff and put it on his plate. He nodded to the guards that were with him and they left. He pulled back a chair and sat down with Lucas and Craig, as well as the team who'd just sat down as well, all in all there were 7 of them.

Lucas, Craig, Aidian, Gunn, Phil, Blake and Noven, they were all sitting now listening to President Kruegar, some like Lucas had served under his father, others had just heard about him as the man, who stopped the Empire cold in thier tracks against the Republic, Krueger was both a legend and a man in his own lifetime. All Republican Zoid Pilots were taught with stratagies he had come up with, nobody dared say that it was just becuase his son was President, becuase it wasn't, he was truely a great Zoid Pilot and great Commander.[/i]

[b]Kreuger[/b]: All right men, have you had enough breakfast ?

[b]All[/b]: YES SIR

[b]Kreuger[/b]: OK then, you are all aware of this mission and what it will involve. This is a surgical strike mission into a top secret base near Guygalos, the objective is to simply destroy the entire base so that the weapon cannot be brough online, be warned it will be very heavily guarded and will not be an easy target to destroy, we have word that the Empire has recenly sent 4 squads of Iron Kongs, 2 squads of Red Horns and 5 squads of Sabre Tigers, these will present a tough situation to overcome. Now suit up and get ready, you will depart at 09:00 hours, is that understood

[b]All[/b]: SIR YES SIR !!

[i]Lucas walked down to the elevator with his team, they were headed towards the bay where their Zoids wee having some final modifactions ands upgrades done to their systems, Dr. D sat tinkering with the left leg of the Slash Liger and Lucas approched quietly.[/i]

[b]Dr. D[/b]: Jumping up on an old man isn't a good sign Luc, makes you look like an Imperial Major.

[b]Lucas[/b]: How do you do that D, what happenbed with the leg of the Liger ?

[b]Dr. D[/b]: Nothing, just some last minute upgrades I'm making, should increase the grip on the claws.

[b]Lucas[/b]: Ok then, we're pulling out in an hour so we'll have some training just to get the feel of the new upgrades that you and your team put in.

[b]Dr. D[/b]: Well remember this, you break it and I'll break your nose

[i]Lucas laughed and jumped into the cockpit of his new Zoids, he'd not had the chance to try it out properly in a fight yet and wanted to do so ASAP, he looked over at Craig talking to the scientist at his Dark Horn and wondered what he was saying[/i]

For anyone who noticed Gunn, Phil, Blake and Noven are the other NPC members of the squad, I'll post up thier bio's in my next post.[/size][/color]

[Solo Tremaine]

Aidian watched as the last few mechanics pulled away from his Zoid, leaving the gleaming new upgrade sitting proudly upon it. Alaris would definately be pleased.

He flicked some hair out of his eyes and walked up to the large white wolf-Zoid, running his fingers along its metal paw. This was his dream... and now he was finally able to take part in what he saw as the most important part of life on Zi- gaining freedom.

The lift shuddered to a halt next to him and he stepped on board, ready to get into the cockpit. The other pilots were getting into theirs, ready to start the mission. As he settled into the plush leather seating and strapped his harness on, his thoughts wandered to what his uncle's first combat mission under Kreuger would have been like. To serve under such a Colonel as him would have been the greates honour imaginable.

He jabbed a few buttons and the cockpit hissed shut.

Not that working under Kreuger's son was any less admirable, though.

He was to be the long-rage reconaissance and cover for this mission. The optimised sniper scope of the Konig Wolf gave a great eye for detecting traps. It wasn't particularly good at close combat, but he could still rip a decent amount of armour out of a Saber Tiger without any hassle.

Suddenly, he heard an angry tap on his canopy. He opened it up, and a very indignant-looking Raptor organoid stared back at him.

He laughed. "Aha, there you are, Alaris. I was wondering where you'd gotten to."

Alaris clicked his claws on the Konig Wolf's roof, as if testing it for safety.

"Don't worry about that. I've had a few extra modifications fitted to aid us in combat. The Wolf's a bit heavier than normal, but I can assure you it's safe."

The organoid gave a quiet groan and leapt onto the ground below, hungrily eyeing a box of tools which a passing mechanic was carrying.

Rolling his eyes, Aidian closed the canopy again.

Bianca lay flat on her back on the dusty ground, staring up at the sky. Her organoid, a silver tiger she called Shiva (pronounced Shivuh..like shiver only stranger.) was laying down beside her with her head on Bianca's sotmach, rising and falling with every breath she took.

"So, Shiva...I wonder...if we're going to meet him along the way." Bianca said to her companion. She looked down at the organoid once more before falling asleep.

But she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was there with her.

A large Black Blade Liger bounded over the sands of the desert.Inside the cockpit you would be able to see a girl inside piloting it.She controlled it with so much ease.

"Come on Shadow.We need to get through this sand and then head over the quicksand.Remember when we get to the quicksand be light on your feet and take quick steps."she called to the Zoid.It roared back in reply.

Soon as the girl had said they arrived at a quicksand area.Shadow started to ran quickly and as lightly as he could over the sinking ground beneath them.When they arrived on the other side the girl told Shadow to go to a town nearby where there was going to be a quick battle.Shadow roared and shoved its boosters and sped over the rest of the sand that soon changed to grass and tar as they got out of the desert area.When they arrived at the town she headed to the sign up area.

"Hi.I'd like to have a small battle."she said to the man at the register.
"Alright...Name please?"he asked grabbing a pen and a piece of paper.
"Nisha.Nisha Toki."
"And Zoid type and name?"
"His name's Shadow.He's a Blade Liger."
"Organoid?"
"Yes.Kai."
"Ok that's all thanks.Your battle will be here tomorrow at 9am."
"Thanks.See you then."Nisha said as she left the building and jumped back into Shadow.

"Okay boy we've got a battle tomorrow at 9.Are you up for it?"

Shadow roared loudly with approval and they headed for a hotel.Shadow was parked in the Zoids Garage at the hotel and a greyish blue wolf exited Shadow and came up next to Nisha.Nisha bent down and petted him before picking him up and heading inside to get a room.
