She leaned down on the table, giving him an excellent view of her cleavage.

Kell: That might cost you.

Dorolin: ....

He smiled and droped a silver pendant into her top. She winked and refilled his drink.

Kell: The good dwarf, Haron Duskabar, is in the Armory buisness. From what I've seen. He does excellent work.

Dorolin: ....thanks.

Kell: Any time.

Stephen looked at Kell as she began to ascend the stairs.
"Selling information acting like that? How appropriate."
"Shut it." Kell growled, slinking upstairs. Stephen violently sliced a cucumber in half, wondering when he would be able to go home. He looked outside and saw that it had begun to rain. He groaned and began grinding up some pepper.
"You can go." Stephen wheeled and saw Kell standing there, looking tired.
"I said, go." She said, although still tiredly, Stephen nodded understandingly and began out the door.
"Tomorrow, then?" He asked, she sighed, and returned upstairs. He shrugged and began walking off, he thought he might pay someone a visit...He looked down and noticed that his clothes were filthy, and they were starting to get small for him...Lissa! He could pay her a visit, and get some new threads at the same time. He began whistling a little tune as he wandered down the street to Lissa's...

He chuckled mildly. Overprotective? Yes. Stupid? No. She wasn't going to run away with this guy. She was just messing with his mind so she could earn a little more cash. Claudio walked up behind her.

Claudio- "Kinda makes me wish I had breasts. Perhaps we could do more than break even if we both flaunted." He winked at her and walked back over to the cellar, realizing he had yet to bring ale up. It was raining. Something had sidetracked him. He sighed again at the seventeen, soon to be fifteen barrels. He grabbed one and lifted, the muscles in his arms and legs bulging. Claudio dragged it up the stairs and set it right outside the cellar doors. He went down for another one. Something jumped on his face. "What the fu-" He felt dozens of tiny teeth sink into his shoulder. "Raaahhh!" He grouped blindly at the unknown attacker and came up with nothing but severed fur. His shoulder felt white hot with pain and blood. The thing let go of his shoulder, bringing another jolt of pain and repositioned itself to bite down on his neck. Claudio grabed it and threw it to the floor. "You little bastard!" There was a rather large opossum now directly under his left boot. He thought about snapping it's little neck right there. Crushing the little things head and smearing the floor with it's brains.

Kell- "Claudio? Did you slip?" He sighed and let a little pressure ease off of the little rodent. He turned to her, clutching his freely flowing shoulder.

Claudio- "This little godsforsaken thing attacked me. Probably has a little of me floating in it's stomach. Do you want it? Or can I kill it?" He hoped for the latter but knew better.

Kell: I'll make a deal. Leave Fuzzy alone for now and you can release him into the wild within the next hour.

She balanced the barrel between her hands and started walking upstairs, showing very little strain.

Claudio: ...you mean it?

She reached the top, set it down and tapped it expertly.

Kell: Yes actually.

Claudio: I love you.

She laughed prettily and flicked her hair at him. He filled the mugs and set them down on the bar. Closing time in three hours. If they got lucky. Then it was time to relax together in the chambers Kell had been redecorating for months. In the meantime, she took off for Kattarin's place. Claudio winced slightly. He didn't like her much, but wouldn't treat her any differently. Kell dealt with her strictly in buisness. Keeping her personal feelings to herself.

She walked outside and into the night. It was warm, slight breeze, rain falling lightly. She liked it. Kattarin was waiting by the door.

"So, these... Snakeskin guys... they don't mean us any harm?"

"Apparently not, but Sariyah and I have our doubts." Renie had met Lorien in the street outside Claudio's Tavern. Renie hadn't sold anything that day, mostly due to her inability to put herself out there. "In fact, there hasn't been any sign of them since around noon today."

"I don't like that at all..." Renie whispered. "Do you know where they went after they left Claudio's?"

"No, I'm sorry, I don't."

"That's alright." Renie smiled at Lorien. "You know, we used to talk all the time. What happened?"

"I guess it's just Sariyah's duties and everything..."

Renie snorted, "Sariyah's duties. Right. Once again, he screws me."

"Don't worry, he thinks very highly of you."

"Does he? I couldn't care less." Lorien smiled at her.

"You think of him often enough, don't you?"

Renie climbed onto her cart. "Enough to make me ill. I'm going home." Renie's face broke into a broad grin. "G'night! See you tomorrow!" Lorien waved as Renie disappeared down the road.

The night was dark with the new moon hung high in the sky. Renie hummed to herself while on her way home. Finally, she approached the house. Her candles were lit. Renie frowned.

"That's strange. Did I forget to put them out last night? No, they would have run down by now..." Renie jumped off her cart and let her horse, Erlitou, into his stall. She silently approached her front door and listened.

"This is a regular gold mine! Food ev'r where, and enough space fer all o' us!" Renie heard the clinking of glass.

They're drinking! Where'd they get that?!

"'Ey, shove ov'r. The bed's mine."

"Not on yer life!" Renie picked up her garden hoe, just in case someone came out of the door.

"Wha's dis?" A fourth voice spoke as he audibly opened a drawer. "Me Life En Black 'Aven."

"That's My Life In Black Haven, you dolt." Renie was silent, but blushed angrily. Those were her private things!

"T'day..." Read the one who had discovered the book, "We leave. Sariyeh is leadin' us all. Somefink tells me, that he doesn't want me ta come wit him. But I'm going none the less. If he lef' and I neve' saw 'im again, I don't know what I'd-"

"GET OUT OF THERE!!" Renie kicked the door open, brandishing her hoe. Five or six men were seated in her tiny two room house. They all looked genuinely dumbfounded.

"Well lookie 'ere," The man speaking shut her book. "You mus' be the owna of dis fine establishmen'"

"I am. Now leave! Before I have to use this!"

"A garden hoe." The only one with proper grammer stood up, smirking. "How old are you sweetie?"

The gang laughed stupidly. Renie's anger was growing by the millisecond. "I am not a child!! Do not talk down to me like you are my superior!" Renie swung the garden tool with all her might, catching the man off guard and hitting him square in the temple. He staggered, holding his head, infuriated.

"YOU LITTLE *****!!" He swung his arm and hit Renie with such a force that she went careering into the wall. There was a sickening popping noise and Renie cried out in pain. She looked up dimly at the man's arm. There was a tattoo of a skull and a snake. The man smiled sickeningly at Renie. "I think, we should take advantage of this little miss's hospitality." The men grunted and started advancing on Renie. Her eyes widened.

No... get away from me... NO!! Renie did a sweep kick, knocking the leader to the ground. With one arm, she crawled out the door and rolled down the steps. One of her pigtails came undone and her dress was filthy. She whistled and Erlitou trotted up next to her.

"Down." Renie managed to grid out. Erlitou, as if he understood, kneeled down. Renie threw her good arm over his neck and pulled herself onto his back. Erlitou started trotting towards town.

"Should we go after her boss?!"

"What's the point? She'll probably pass out from all the pain."

Renie gritted her teeth as Erlitou continued to trot towards Black Haven. She felt her vision getting fuzzy, and a small voice kept telling her that it wouldn't hurt if she just let go.

"I- I have to get into town, or people will end up like me! Who were those creeps anyway?!" Erlitou started to pick up the pace with a canter. Soon, they were in town. Nobody was on the streets. "They're probably all in the taverns still. Good boy Erlitou." She stroked his neck. "Help...!" Renie cried out in a weak voice. "Someone help me...! My farm's been taken over by a gang of men...!" Lorien stuck her head out of the Mayor's mansion.

"RENIE!" In a matter of seconds, Lorien was on the street. "Renie what happened?! What's wrong with your arm?!"

"I think they dislocated it... don't touch it... it hurts..." Renie winced away from Lorien's outstretched hand. "We need help. Get people to help...!"

"A gang did this to you?"

"Yes. They're in my house, going through my stuff. I had to stop them...!"

"That was really stupid! You could have gotten killed!"

"Lorien, you can get on my case all you want, but now I need some assistance or this town goes hungry for another season!"

She was coming back from the edge of town when she heard the groans and pitiful voice. She ran. Renie looked awful. Kell knelt next to her, shooing Lorien away.

Lorien: What do you reccomend?

Kell: She's taking a one way trip to Kattarin's.

Lorien: That witch!?!?

Kell: That Woman has more skill in healing than this entire village combined. She can heal up your flesh wounds quickly, and I...

She reached down before she could argue and swiftly popped her arm back into place.

Kell: ...can do that for you.

Although Lorien didn't like the idea of using Kattarin's services she had to agree that she had all the right things to make people better.

Lorien: Okay let't take her to Kattarin's but at anytime I feel a bad vibe I'm bringing her back here.

Kell: Okay, but you'll see.

Kell and Lorien took Renie over their shoulders and slowly walked to Kattarin's. As they made their way there, Renie slowly drifted in and out.

Kell: Renie, don't fall asleep, you gotta fight it.

Lorien: Yeah, we don't want you any worse off. I'm not sure to what extent Kattarin's abilities work and I sure don't wish to push the limits.

Kell: Talk to us sweety tell us everything that happened.

Luckily the conversation kept Renie up long enough. But Lorien just became more angry at what the group had done to her friend. Soon they were at Kattarind door and Kell knocked.

Kattarin: Back so soon Kell. I didn;t think you'd use those-

Before she finished her sentence she saw Lorien also there and Renie alsomt unconscious.

Kattarin: Bring her in quickly!

The two did as ordered. Kattarin found a place to set her and they layed her there.

Kattarin: She been like this long?

Kell: She just came back into town. I heard her at Loriens mansion.

Lorien: She says she was hit very hard and her shoulder was dislocated but Kell put it back in place.

Lorien saw Kattarin work on Renie and soon kne that Kattarin would take care of the situation. She knew though, that she had to return to the mansion quickly and tell her brother.

Lorien: Kell, I'll return soon, will you still be here when I return. I may need help to take her to the house.

Kell: Yeah, no problem. Be careful.

Lorien: Thanks, I will, and oh Kattarin, I thank you as well for helping my friend.

Kattarin looked at the young lady to see if her gratitude was real. Noting the sincerity she nodded her head and Lorien headed out the dorr, running back to the mansion.

Kell: .....I can't stay.

Kattarin: Go. I'll be fine.

Kell: Good luck.

She turned and made a hasty exit, still holding the pouches she had received earlier. Claudio opened the door for her and she stumbled through. Bombolurina rubbed up against her. Kell set down the packets on the high shelf, locking them in the tin.

Claudio: ....the stuff?

Kell: The stuff.

Claudio: What's going on?

Kell: The famer girl was attacked by the bandits. I took her to Kattarin's.

Claudio: Good move. Does the mayor know?

Kell: She made it far enough to warn his assistant first.

She sat down, calming herself, while Kitty poured her a glass of brandy.

Kitty: Easy.

Lorien made it back to the mansion quickly. She enterd the door, dropped her cloak by the post and called for her brother.

Lorien: Sariyah! Sariyah!?

But she didn;t wait for him to answer, she bolted up the staris and to his door.

Lorien: Brother are you in there, please answer?!

None. She went down the staris and to his office. He wasn't present there either.

Lorien: Damn. where can he be?

She went to the kitchen and then the dining room. Still no sign of him in the house. As she walked back to the front of the house she stopped the manseverant, Charles.

Lorien: Have you seen Sariyah or know where he's at? Please its important!

Seeing that Lorien was shaken up he led her back to the kitchen and gave her a glass of water to drink. Hoping that it wuld calm her enough for her to relay the story to him.

Charles: Here you go ma'am, okay, now calm down.

Lorien took the water and downed it quickly. For a moment there she wished it was something other than water but knew that drinking would not at all help the problem. As she took a few breathes of air in and tried to regain her composure she relayed the situation to him.

He listened intentively and at the end he finaly spoke up.

Charles: Ma'am he should be in oon. He is meeting with a few people and he didn't wish to be disturbed. So please just wait here and he'll be home soon.

Lorien: No, no I can't wait tell me where he is?

As she began to walk towards the door she saw her brother walk in and she ran up to him. She grabbed him and put her head on his chest sobbing.

Sariyah: What's got you all fussy this evening?

Lorien backed up and hit him in the arm. He laughed and rubbed his arm. Knowing that is was a way to lways calm her down a bit, she took part in it but soon rembered the real reason she came to him.

Lorien: Renie is hurt!!

As Kell began to drink the glass, Claudio nodded at Kitty, who nodded back and immediatly left. She headed straight for the vet to check on Lily and Luminous. When she reached it, she noticed the lights off and the closed sign in the window.

Kitty: They must be at home...

She turned quickly and ran towards the house. The lights were on, signaling that he was home. She opened the door and saw Lily laying on her cat bed, and the others playing with a new cat. It looked like a skunk, but she knew better. She walked in the kitchen to find Luminous making a small dinner.

Luminous: Long day? You seem upset.
Kitty: Kell told Claudio and me that Renie has been attacked by some bandits. They're piggin' out at her farm and they injured her. We should go. By the way, who's the new kitty?
Luminous: Hmm? Oh, Skunk? A member of the Snakeskin Bandits brought him to my shop.

Kitty smiled, then went upstairs to their little furnished room. She put on her katana and cloak and grabbed Luminous's stuff, too. She then ran downstairs and tossed 'em to him, then headed outside, Luminous on her heals.

Luminous: Who we gonna tell? Or are we going there ourselves.
Kitty: The mayor. He probably knows since Lorien found Renie, but we should ask if he needs our help. Who knows, we might even be stuck at home.

They laughed, then headed towards the biggest house in town. The mayor's.

Clyde had watched The Bandits attack Renie from the farm.

Clyde: Good thing I followed them here. Now I got an actual charge to arrest them. I better get more guards and inform the mayor.

As Clyde turned around he suddenly felt a blade pass right next to his face. He turned to see two of the bandits had found him.

Bandit 1: Who the hell are you? Trying to play hero?

Clyde heard laughing behind him and three others surrounded him.

Bandit 2: Unlike the girl, we arent going to let you get out of here alive.

Clyde grabbed his sword behind him and unsheathed it.

Bandit 3: Goin' to fight back, huh?

Bandit 4: This is gonna be fun.

The bandits drew their weapons and walked closer to Clyde.

Clyde: *Thinking* This is bad. Really, REALLY bad.

Renie was gritting her teeth over the pain in her shoulder. "Don't move," Kattarin turned away to mix something, "You'll make it worse."

"Sorry..." Renie mumbled, then changed the subject. "I don't think I've seen you around before."

"You haven't. Simple as that. I don't normally go outside."

"Oh. I don't go into town that often either, so I think that most of this town doesn't even know I exist."

Kattarin gave a short laugh, "The reason I don't go out is because people DO know I exist."

Renie was silent for a moment, "They're afraid of you?"

"More or less."

"Well that's just ignorance." Renie looked at the ceiling. "I mean, I'm lying here on your table and you're not doing anything to me. I was in pretty bad shape until Tell brought me to you."

Kattarin looked at Renie oddly, "How do you know everyone's names if they don't know you?"

"Well I... er..." Renie shrugged her good shoulder. "I- I have this dream. Kind of a vision for myself. I- I want to live here and be able to walk down the street, and have people smile at me out their windows. I only know Sariyah and Lorien because we used to play together as children. I always think, 'Today's the day that people know my name and face and who I really am.' But I always choak. I get too afraid that they won't like me. I've spent countless hours in Claudio's tavern learning everyone's names slowly, but I never really get the courage up to talk to them." Renie sighed, "Stupid, isn't it?" Kattarin shrugged.

"I've never been much of a fan of all that. Here." She bandaged Renie's shoulder to her torso. "Don't move the shoulder too much or it could dislocate again." Renie nodded and propped herself up, wincing. "I'll make something for the pain." Kattarin turned around again and began making a flask of pain killer.

Kell forced herself to remain calm, then whistled through her teeth. The back door opened and several large black wolves trotted in. One rested his head on her knees and she stroked his forehead.

Kell: Go to the bandits and tell me what you see. If there's trouble...see what you can do.

The largest of them licked her palms and left. The others swiftly followed. Kell looked back and tossed the rest of the brandy down. Then she stood and spoke quietly to Claudio. He nodded and made the announcement.

Claudio: Until the bandits are dealt with, we will close for the rest of their stay. If you need your beer, come to the Inn, which will remain open.

Kitty: ...damn them.

Kell: It's for the best. People could easily get hurt here. Plus, they'll damage things.

Clyde was kneeling on the ground, several cuts and slashs on his body, tired from fighting them off. He was even too weak to pick up his sword off the ground. He had taken out one of the bandits and wounded two but It became too much for him. A bandit walked up to Clyde and was ready to kill him, until...

...The bandit roared out in pain. Clyde saw a large wolf had clamped on to his leg, dropping the dagger near Clyde. He picked up the dagger and hit the bandit with the handle of the blade, knocking him out. He turned to see the other bandits were taken down by several other wolfs.

Clyde: What's going on?

The wolfs slowly surrounded Clyde, but they only barked and left. He realized that the wolfs were Kell's pets. Clyde walked into Renie's house, finding a long peice of rope. He grabbed the bandits and put them all in one place, tieing them with the rope. He gathered the bandit's weapons and took anything they had. All he found was some gold coins. Clyde smiled. He walked over to his sword and grabbed his sword and groaned in pain as he strapped it onto his back again. He went back into Renie's house, looking for anything to cover his wounds.

Clyde: I better thank Kell once this is over.

A couple of the guards stood watch outside, keeping a close eye on the tied up bandits. "So," one started, "how many bandits are there?"

"Uhhh," the other replied, dumbfounded. "Five, I believe." The one guard counted slowly. One, two, three, and... four!

"Oh. There's four," the first one giggled. The other followed by laughing too. Then, they dropped dead serious. Not to mention dead. Knives protruding in their backs, the bandit leader, Scipio, approached the scene with throwing knives.

"That wassa too easia." Scipio grinned, baring his rotten, yellow teeth. He took a knife to the ropes and the bandits stood up.

"Thanks, boss."

"Don't mentiona it. Now then, let's blowa this stand, eh?" He grinned and laughed, his breath fowler than wet dogs on a hot summer day.

Taking some horses from Nogard's stables, the bandits rode off, opening the gates by killing the guards and doing so themselves. Sariyah emerged from his house at this time, unaware of the escape. He trudged towards the gates, noticing the riders. He then peered at the corpses tied up and laying down, backs to a building. "The Guards..." He pulled out his pistol and shot it into the air. "WE HAVE AN ESCAPE!"

Nogard Knewing that they would try to escape by graping some of his horse, he planned to stop them out side of the gate. On his horse he looked at them and said, "It will be 200 gold pieces for the horse and the equipment. But I'm not worried about the horses as thou should be." The bandits looked at him and laugh. Nogard gave a low long wistle. The horse started to buck and trying to through the bandits off. Three of the bandits immeditly fell off the horses, the other maneged to stay on.
"what the hell was that?" as he looked at Nogards horse, "Where is he? Where did you go you coward?" Scopio Yelled.
"Im above you, I suggest that you disarm and surrender as you being arrested for killing a Messenger of the royal court of Stialious, Attacking Renie, Clyde, and killig gaurds of Black Haven." He said from a tree branch over the leader, with an arrow pointed at him.
"How did you get up there so quickly coward. Do you think your safe up there." The leader smeircked, while reaching for a throwing knife. Nogard released the arrow and hit the strap that hold the saddle up right.
"I warned you?" Nogard smiled as he drew his sword and leaped down giving another wistle. This time the horses went wild throwing everyone off. "You have no clue who you deal with don't you? I was a Thief and spy of the royal Army of Stialious. The brother of the Queen, and Nephew of the Messenger. I wonder this world after being banished and learning to hate scum like you. For three winters I made a living as a thief out side of the royal army."

OOC: Okay people.....Can I just give a few pointers on my character? a) Her house. A mile or two out of town, in the forest. It's a god damn cave with tree roots growing down over the opening. No door, obviously. b) Fair dealer? You're outta your head again my dear Raiha.

IC: Kattarin absently wondered why the hell they'd dragged the invalid into the middle of the forest, rather than simply find a semi-decent bone setter in the town. Still, the willow bark she was grinding was just about ready, and the water she kept eternally ready was boiled. She poured the water into the pestle, letting it steep a few minutes before straining the excess water off, leaving only the infusion. She mixed in a vile tasting but effective sedative, and turned back around. Renie had her teeth gritted, still.

Kattarin gave her the brew with little patience for recalcitrance. Renie eventually got it all down. Kattarin watched her for a few heartbeats, then briskly turned away and cleaned up her smaller side table, the one currently unoccupied by an inert form. By the time she was finished, Renie was out. Convenient.

Kattarin lifted her gently, keeping her shoulder fixed in place. She found her nearly no burden at all, thankfully.

As she made the considerable trip back to town, she considered just exactly what this meant. Either another crazy mob outside her makeshift root-door, and possibly a relocation on her behalf, or maybe they'd appreciate her help this time and let her be. Either way, chances are they'd go down harder, one way or another, then she would.

The forest proved little impediment to the elven female's speed, and the town was quite easy to reach once in the open. Kattarin, a body slung over her shoulder, received even more strange looks that usual, but everyone was too concerned about some other disturbance to care much. The idiots had been warned, but if Scipio and his little henchmen decided to get themselves killed, she wouldn't care all that much, asiding maybe a quick drop of the corpses in quicklime, just to make sure.

She saw the building she vaguely recognised as Claudio's tavern. It seemed big enough anyway. She kicked the door open rather than use the more conventional means, desposited Renie on the nearest table, and walked out, before anyone could say a word.

Now with one arm free, it was a lot easier to keep the long knife under her cloak in her grip, and half out of its sheath. She heard a loud gunshot, damn human weapons, and spun, knife flicking into view of several people. The sound was a long way away though, and everyone around her made themselves rather scarce. Kattarin pinpointed the direction of the sound, and started towards it, her path not helped by the fact that she had no idea how to navigate inside a village of any size. After a few minutes, she was ranting openly to herself, and waving the knife around to emphasise certain points. There wasn't a lot of interference with her passage though, strangely enough.

Clyde was in the tavern, his vest off and several bandages wrapped around his chest, stomach, and arms. He would rather go out and help the others fight the bandits, but Kell forced him to stay here and rest. He was at a table at the otherside of the tavern, drinking a bottle of tequila, after paying for it of course.

Suddenly, the door was kicked open, and it was the 'witch' that lived nearby town with Renie in her arms. She placed her on the nearest table and left. Clyde walked over and sat next to the table Renie was on. He saw bandages on her shoulder. He then heard her groan and wake up.

Clyde: Dont move. You'll hurt your shoulder.

Renie: Ugh. Where am I?

Clyde: The tavern. The 'witch' bought you here.

Renie: Then where is everybody?

Clyde: The tavern's closed, but I had to stay here to rest while everyone else is hiding in their homes or fighting the bandits.

Renie: Well, what happened to you?

Clyde: I was attacked by the bandits near your farm.

Renie: My farm? Did you see me get attacked?

Clyde:......Yes.

Renie: You're Clyde, right? The head guard?

Clyde: Right.

Renie: Then why didnt you help me?

Clyde:......You would only be a burden. I don't mean to insult you.

Renie: It's alright.

Clyde: You should rest now.

Hearing the gunshot from her brother pistol Lorien quickly stepped outside to see what the commotion was about. She heard her brothers voice screaming that an escape had occured and ran immeditately to the tavern. She had to warn Cluadio and also a few of the other town members, hoping that the tavern was still open.

As she went down the road to the tavern she thought she saw Kattarin walking in the opposite direction towards her brother but she shook the idea out of her head and continued.

Inside the tavern she saw obly Clyde and Renie present.

Lorien: How did you get here? Who brought you.

Renie: Kattarin did, she was finished treating me and decided to drop me off at the tavern.

Seeing Clyde by Renie and in worse shape than she asked him what had happened as well. He told the whole story to her and Lorien was upset with him and vented jut a little but it was mixed more so with confusion thatn anything.

Lorien: So you saw the bandits try to beat her and you didn't help? I mean what kind of person are you to watch an innocent just get hurt.

Renie: Calm down now Lorien, please, I'm okay now. Please just relax.

Lorien lowered her head to the table and mumbled words just loud enough for Renie to hear,I need a drink which made her giggle a bit. But sensing that Lorien wasn't just upset with the attack asked her what had happened.

Lorien quickly lifter her head and answered calling everyone else in the taverns attention as well.

Lorien: I believe that the bandits were caught, but they have escaped.

Everyone looked dumbfounded by the comment and Kell immediatley stood up with the saying of it.

Kell: What do you mean they escaped? How?

Lorien: That Im not sure of but I know Sariyah will be needing some help. So do you want to go check it out?

"That won't be necessary." Sariyah showed up in the doorway. "Nogard has them tied back up again. It seems they were easier this time. They're now in jail." The room went with a sigh of relief.

Sariyah nodded at Kell, Claudio, and Clyde. "May I speak with you all in my office for a moment, please?"

They all gave looks, but did as he said. Once inside Sariyah's office in town, they all settled in seats around his desk. He clapsed his hands together and leaned on the table.

"Lorien was kind enough to look in on the Snakeskin bandits."

"We already have them caught," Kell protested.

"Don't be so sure." He flipped through some papers and pulled a certain one out and laid it in front of the others. "This says that there is actually six of them. Scipio is NOT the leader."

"What?" Claudio made a sudden outburst.

"I'm not sure if he's coming neither. We must prepare."

At about this time, the jail door swung open with a man cloaked in black. He approached the guard sitting back in his chair whom suddenly jumped to his feet. "You can't come in here!" The man grabbed the guard by the neck and tossed him at the wall, knocking him unconscious.

He then approached the cell with the Snakeskin Bandits and sneered. "You are ol useless. Ever' un of youz." He pulled out a nicely crafted pistol. There was suddenly four gunshots. Sariyah and the others lifted their heads. Sariyah reached for his pistol. The others readied the weapons they had at hand. They then ran out.

There was another scream just as they stepped out of the office. "Renie," Sariyah said under his breath. She was being carried off by a man cloaked in black on a black steed. And another man rode off behind them. They quickly escaped out the gates and down the trail and out of sight.

The others didn't wait. Kell and Claudio ran to the tavern while Sariyah and Clyde went to the jail. Lorien was unconscious with a head wound inside the tavern.

What Sariyah and Clyde found was much worse. "He killed them all," Sariyah said, noting the bullet wounds. "I just know this is the leader's doing."

"Why would he kill off his own men?"

"Got me. But I know because he didn't kill Scipio and took him with instead. Must be his right hand man."

"Ah."

"C'mon. Let's get going. We leave with a party at daybreak."

Day: 2
Month: 1
Year: 1

Sariyah walked into his sister's bedroom. She was awake, but bandaged and she had to rest. He approached her bedside and kissed her on the cheek. "Get better while I'm gone."

"Save her, Sariyah," Lorien said, smiling, "Those bandits must pay."

"Of course." He at down a tray of snacks for her and walked out of the room and house. He found his party ready. "We all set?"

"Yes, Sariyah. We have the horses loaded for the journey," Clyde said proudly.

"Why didn't we leave last night?" Nogard grunted, but with kindness.

"We wouldn't get far out there in a night chase. Besides, we needed to prepare in case we got lost. Now we are in full Renie-finding mode." Sariyah mounted his readied horse. "Let's ride." They started off, but Kattarin rode up through the gates in their way. "Yes, Kattarin?"

"I'm coming too." Sariyah stared back into her dark eyes, then nodded.

"Very well. I thank you for your company."

And so, the group, which consisted of Sariyah, Clyde, Nogard, Kitty, Kattarin, and Tain, rode off out through the gates determined to get back Renie and finally defeat the Snakeskin bandits.

Oh for the love of god Flynn. If you had problems, you could like....pop in and tell us before we make assumptions based on ignorance that was never remedied.

Kell and Claudio sat down on the foot of their bed. The remaining guards were on double security, no worry's anymore. She leaned against his shoulder, drained. Alot of walking, lifting, talking, urgh. Chiri fluttered through the window and landed in her outstretched hand. She nuzzled it and he whispered into her ear. She didn't move her head, only movement were her eyes flickering. Chiri finished his report and left. He looked more or less unscathed, and Kell left it at that.

Claudio: What did the bird say?

Kell: Chiri tracked them and then caught up with the mayor's party. We're left here until then.

Claudio: ....To protect this town I suppose, when we can track faster than a huge group.

Kell: That's the way it goes.

Claudio: I need a vacation.

Kell: ...YOU need a vacation?

He laughe at her indignant expression and put his arms around her, pushing her backwards onto the bed. He undid her blouse and kissed her chest.

Claudio: WE need a vacation.

Although Lorien was told she needed rest she knew that she could not do so with Renie out there alone. Now she wished that she wasn;t so helpless and could go along to help them out. She lifted up in the bed and found herself getting very dizzy.[I} He must've did a number on me.[/I} She rubbed her head and sat for a few moments to see if the dizzt spell would soon leave her.

After a few minutes it did and she got up and looked out of the window, she was in time to see her brother and the posse ride away to find the Snakeskin bandits.

"Hold on Renie, Sariyah'sgonna find you real soon."

With that she turned away and headed back to her bed. She saw the tray of food sitting there and grabbed a few slices of apple that were placed there. Eating them slowly she remembered what she had done last night and called to Charles.

He came after a few moments.

Charles: Yes ma'am, what is it? Are you okay?

The sound of concern poured from his mouth and he came close to her.

Lorien: Of course, Charles I am fine but I need you to do a favor for me.

Charles: Of course ma'am anything.

Lorien: Go to the mayor's office and go to my desk. There is a bunch of paperwork laying about. Just stack them nicely and bring them back here for me to examine.

Charles: Ma'am you really should be resting..

Lorien: When I finish my work I will, now that Sariyah is gone I must do my best to fill his shoes. I cannot lay about all day and wallow in pain and pity, no GO!!

Without another word from his lips Charles turned around and headed out the door.

As everyone was talking about how to get Renie back and stop the bandit leader, Clyde had remained silent, wandering in his own thoughts. He kept thinking about what Renie and Lorien had said to him.

He kept asking himself why didnt he help her? He could've held the bandits off while she went to get help, but he just watched. Was he just a coward? His duty was to protect the citizens of Black Haven and he failed. He suddenly snapped from his thoughts as he heard someone.

Kitty: Hellllllooooooo. Earth to Clyde! What's up with you? You havent said a thing since we left town. You alright?

Clyde:......Im fine.

"Heh. He's getting home sick, " Sariyah teased. He ducked as a low branch swiftly passed by. They now had entered the forest that was so fondly made around Black Haven. "We should be on their trail."

"We must hurry since we're already a night's worth behind," Nogard pointed out.

"Indeed. We won't stop except for meals which will now just be breakfast and dinner. These meals will be brief as well. When we camp to sleep, it's only for a matter of hours. We cannot delay ourselves for very long. If you get hungry come around lunch time, just nibble a small snack. We also have to save our provisions."

"Yep," Kitty beamed. The forest was blooming with much life and it made one wonder why such a beautiful place was run by thieves. Yes, these woods were covered with them so this also made the party extra cautious.

"We shouldn't run into any thieves, should we?" Clyde asked curiously.

"Got me," Sariyah replied, keeping his eyes ahead. They were now at a fast walking pace because of the trees. It was a narrow path and very dangerous to gallop or run through on horseback.

"I bet there's no thieves here at all," Kitty protested. Suddenly, twelve thieves hopped out of the trees and drew swords and daggers on the group. They were totally defenseless.

"You were saying," Kattarin grunted, twitching.
