I'm the worst when it comes to heights. Just the mere thought of falling...*rolls onto the floor shivering uncontrollably*

Let me emphasize. *Note: This's a dream, so bear the weirdness*

I had a dream where I was clinging to a McDonald's sign pole above the clouds. I was so damn high up. I woke up panicking when I felt myslef beginning to fall.

Okay, so I have a bad case of heights-phobia. I can't even climb three rungs on a ladder without getting the "crap-I'm-gonna-fall-to-my-doom" feeling...:nervous: :bawl:

I'm afraid of wasps/bees/yellowjackets/hornets/etc.
They scare the crap out of me.
Nothing much besides that.
I used to be afraid of spiders, now I just enjoy killing them because I hate them *Tarantulas are cool though... unless they're about to kill you >>*

Yea.. same here. I'm starting to oversome that though. Only hornets scare me now. (I've been stung more times than you can count) Let's see... I'm sort of like a cat when it comes to dogs.. :shifty: I either swat them, run or hiss. Heh. But that's it. I'm not really afraid of anything. EXCEPT GHOSTS. Eeeeeep!

I'm terrorifed of hieghts, spiders, and in some occasions, ghosts. But i'm strangely not scared of any kind of Bee/hornet/wasp/yellowjacket, even though i was stung in the back of the neck by a hornet. And i've never been bitten by a spder and i'm terrorfied of them.

The only thing that petrifies me is deep dark murky water that I can't see the bottom to. No sir you will never get me near that kind of water, I'd rather be put in a tank full of scorpions than to go near that type of water

Ihave had a lot of fears' but so far I have over come them. Iuse to be afraid of spiders, heights, and haunted houses. Now how ever I'm not afraid of spiders ,I will only kill them if they're poisoness or right in front of my face because I hated when they're inches from my face. I love looking down from balcanies so theirs the end of being afraid of heights. As for haunted houses, I love them, you know you get a good scare than laugh about it later. Last year I discovered that I was clostrophobia. Well i'm still kinda of am, but it's not as bad as it use to be. I have learned how to deal with it. So in a way I have over come that to. Of coarse I have my limits on the subject, but I can go through a bunch of people with out panicking.

I have a HUGE needle phobia. Nothing is scaryier then a needle. NOTHING! Everytime I find out I have to get a shot I break out in tears. Not sure if I cry more before or after the shot.

I can't sem to recall the name of my phobia (it might be hydrophobia), but I can't stand water where I can't touch the bottom. Even at Lake Texoma (a lake near my father's house), where I know for a fact there isn't a thing that can bite my leg off, I still freak out if I can't touch the bottom for more than five seconds or so.

Whenever I'm walking somewhere in the dark, say, walking from the shed to my house when it's night, I suddenly get a fear of someone following me, chasing me. I think someone might be behind me, running after me or watching me, and I can't help but run as fast as I can to the place I going to.

I've got no idea what it's called, or even if it's identified as a phobia or fear.

I am fifteen, and still afraid of the dark. I love the night time, but there is always some bit of light from somewhere in the house, but if I have to walk the dog, I freak out. I am paranoid about every little noise, I barely move away from the door, it's really bad. I don't know if I'll ever get over it, I've tried for 8 years. >cries< I can't even walk in the downstairs hallway at night without turning on every light or carrying a flashing with me. Most of the lights in my house have two switches one at each end of the hall.

Also, I have a strange fear of closed doors. I think it has to do with the dark cause if there is light from under the door, I don't get as freaked out, but if there is no light...I open the door a bit slip my arm in and turn on the light first. It's so stupid, and I know it, yet I can't get over it.

Another fear that has nothing to do with the dark is silence. I cannot be in a place of absolute silence. For a school thing, I once had to go into a soundproof room for a lesson on how the radio works. I went in and they closed the door and there was absolutely no sound. I started hyperventilating and ran out of the room and to the girls room. The teacher sent a student to check up on me and I just said I wasn't feeling well and went to the nurse's office.

And a last thing: catapillars, centipedes, and millipedes. >shudders<

I am actually on anti-depressants for anxiety, which is pretty sad. I miss a day and I start shaking and twitching and getting the butterflies in the stomach. It's a horrible feeling.

O.O;;; Luminaire, i think we're * gasp * MIND TWINS! Becuase that's excactly what i'm afraid of..Well, except if my Alter-Ego takes over me ( which happens after i watch atleast 3 episodes of bebop! oh, god.. now i wanna watch bebop.. ). Which, if my alter-Ego takes over i am not afraid of anything, i'm all cool and stuff. My family has banned me from watching Cowboy Bebop during the day becuase i freak them out ( i freak them out anyways, they should ban me from the housez! ehehe ). Sometimes my Alter-Ego will just lean on a wall and think about random stuff that makes no sense at the time. ( In other words: i become just like spike from Bebop.. )

Anyways, if you wanna know what i'm afraid of read Liminaire's post. But i also have a SMALL case of Arachniphobia,Acriphobia,Aerophobia, and Eduphopie ( a word i came up with for: Fear Of Education! XD )

Exactly! That's what it is. Not ghosts. I just didn't know how to explain it. For instance if I'm going to sleep, I always close my dorr with the light off. I never leave the light on because then you're able to see shadows and stuff. The only disadvantage to being pitch black is going to the bathroom. >_< Sometimes if it's night time when I'm walking to the basement I might get a little freaked too. Eep!

I don't think this is an actual phobia, or me just being paranoid, but I just freak out about eyes when I can't see who they belong to. Just floating in the air. I think it started when I was watching about ghosts on the discovery channel. They were doing a story about some chick having a slumber party and going down to get some more popcorn when she looked down a dark hallway and saw two red eyes floating there. The picture they made for it messed me up so bad. I had a fishtank in my room that had a heater which a red light would come on when it was doing something. From the angle where I slept, the glass reflected it so the light was spaced out like a pair of eyes and I woke up looking at it. So now I don't like eyes, at all; peirod.

~Lumi ^_^
So am I, in a certain view, and I'm 16. If I'm outside or something, it can be pitch black and it won't bother me. But when I'm in the basement, I go into full paranoia/freak-out mode.
I always think that there are these pairs of glowing eyes watching me or something. Of course this is really only when I'm in my basement...
When I am, I'm like, almost terrified to movebecause of it [and this is really bad for me since quite often I'm up until4am In the dark,in the basment on the computer. ^^;;;

Of course i knowthe excat reason why I'm like this too... I blame myself from when I was 6-9years old ¬¬

Another fifteen year old afraid of the dark here.

I'm not afraid of the dark itself, only that every scary story and movie I ever heard or seen, comes back. actualy it takes just to be alone for me to see ghosts around me. Like when I'm brushing my teeth and look in the mirror I'm always afraid that someone else will look back from there, or there will be death standing behind my left shoulder.

I could never watch X-Files, I don't know why, but only seeing those grey skinned aliens, or the flying saucers sends shivers down my spine. I couldn't sleep half the night after I saw the "Independence Day". Not only that, but when I was smaller I read my sisters astronomy book (I was bored, realy bored) and that evening I was outside when it was darkening, then fear came over me. I was afraid that ground beneath me would turn into something like surface of Saturn, with nothing to breathe, no living thing around me for thousands of miles, and I'm only falling through the dark gas into the center. Kinda dumb I know, but in dark every thing is possible.

I'm very glad I'm not only in my fear. ^_^
Just cause me sis isn't on OB, she needs some help. She has BAD Archnaphobia. She sees a spider and goes straight still, she can't move, she'll scream for me then start hyperventilating. I don't like to kill spiders, but me poor sis is so afraid of them. I tried everything to help, and now I just don't know what to do. >sighs<

You need to scare it out of her. Show her non poisonous spiders. You have to convince her that they aren't bad. That or dangle a fake one over her face when she wakes up.
