It's quite simple but it's your first piece so it's good, it's better than my first piece atleast =X. Before I really start commenting I guess I'll stop myself and let you experiment a little more with the filters and what not so after you make a few more graphics you'll get the same "special" treatment I give everyone elses graphics x__X. As for outlined text there are a variety of ways to achieve that effect one simple way which I use every now and then is as such --->

1. Create New Text Layer
2. Right click on text layer in layers window ---> go to blending options.
3.Check outer glow. Change the "blend mode" (from the drop down menu) from screen to normal (all the way at the top).
4.Next change the opacity to 100%. Then click the little yellow square and choose what color you wish the outline for the text to be.
5.Change the spread to 100, and Size to 1 (or 2.
6. Click "OK" and your done.

*note* Tamper with the "spread" and "size" of the glow, the numbers I said aren't the only numbers you can use and depending on the style of the font your applying the outline to your going to need to adjust the outer glow settings accordingly.

Instead of going to Glow in the Blending Options, you can go to Stroke. The Opacity is default at 100%. You can pick what color you want and change the thickness of the outline to your specifications; the default size is 3.

Or if you do not want to mess with Blending Options:

? Hold down Control and click the layer of text or whatever that you want to stroke. (this automatically selects it in a marquee)
? Go to Edit » Stroke.
? Choose your color, size, and blend mode (if neccesary, otherwise just keep it as Normal).
? If you are using a 1px Stroke, choose either Outside or Center for the location. Anything larger, just choose Outside.
? Click Okay.

Viola.

Your graphics are pretty good for just beginning. Probably better than the first stuff I did, lol.

If you want tutorials to get you familiar with everything, I reccomend these places:

Blue Sfear
Shadowness (temporarily down right now)
Deviant Art

There is a whole big list of places with Photoshop tutorials HERE, but those are the ones that I think I looked at most.

That is true, but i've found that the glow feature looks smoother and cleaner than the option stroke. I only use stroke when I'm doing a double outline. But err anyway that's besides the point the way I listed a long with the ways Piro listed are basically the same. Eh but I guess that's besides the point...

Hmmm... your three graphics are quite plain, but i guess there really just experiments right now. But out of the three so far I like the 2nd one the best. :cross:
