Well I wasn't sure where to put this, since it is dealing with art and writing.

Anyway, with all the new comics I've been reading, and seeing Mallrats again, I'm quite in love once more. So I'm here to ask what your favorite comic writers/artists are. I hope you guys explain it to the point the doesn't get closed, because discussion on comics is so rare here.

Anyway here are mine.

Favorite Comic Artists:

Todd McFarelen/Greg Cappuolo: Both of their last names have spelling errors...I can tell. But before you say "if you can't spell their names they aren't your favorites", they were my favorites a long time ago. When the Spawn craze was in full swing, the comic's art was breath taking. Greg on pencils and Todd on Inks, it was a match made in heaven.

Angel Medina: I don't know if he still does anything relating to comics anymore. I honestly barely remembered his name, but the stuff he did in that KISS comic was awesome.

Joe Madureira: He is my current favorite, though he hasn't done anything in comics for a while. Last I heard he was making a video game company or something. But he is coming back in September with a Street Fighter [ one of my favorite games ] comic. Plus, he brought a bit of manga-ish style to the X-men, which I loved back then.

Favorite Comic Writers:

Jhonen...period.

Kevin Smith, Bluntman and Chronic was ******* hilarious.

Hmm, I suppose it's a bit hard for me to write about writers.

Joe Kelly, mainly for "Action Comics #775" which everyone in the world should read.

I'm done...

Well... here we go now. :)

Favorite writers:

Mike Brian Bendis: Let's see...Ultimate Spider-Man, DareDevil, Alias, Powers....this dude's awesome. However, know that his stories can be long at times; many people have copied his style of streching stories out. (He does it better, though.)

Tom DeFalco: Two words: Spider-Girl.

Paul Jenkins: I love this guy's more epic stories. His many one-ish standalones have been good and bad, (mostly good), but when he writes a story arch, you pay attention. His three-ish arc with new villain Fusion was awesome; it's a shame he had
Dok Octopus beat Fusion nearly to death
in his second arc. His Green Goblin arc, "A Death in the Family", was one of the most creative i've ever read with ol' Norman.

What's he done now? He's actually made Venom scary, for the first time ever. Kudos, PJ!

Jhonen: I second that! I thought JtHM was a bir overrated, (itr got way too indulgant in some places), but I consider Squee! a masterpiece. :) Wish I could find "I Feel Sick"...

Oh, and he created Zim!

Roger Stern: I don't know what he's doing now, but he wrote my favorite storyline of the eighties: the original HobGoblin saga. It's a crime that he was takken off the title before he could finish it, and the whole thing turned into a debacle. Fortunatly, his follow-ups, "HobGoblin Lives" and "Goblins at the Gate" were awesome.

JM DeMattis: This guy can be horribly depressing, giving every character personal demons to the nth degree, but at the same time can put summon such menaces as "the Legion of Losers", Walrus-Man, the White Rabbit, and the Terrific Toad Man. (I'm not kidding on any of those....)

Todd DeZago: This guy's just for nastalgic purposes. I read his stuff a lot as a kid.

i'll do artists later; I'm short on time.

Joe Madureira rocks, definitely... He's on my top-three list of X-Men artists, even if he does go a bit overboard on his female character's... *ahem* assets.

For all-time favorite artists, I'd have to go with Rick Leonardi! His pencils in Spider-Man 2099 were just inspired... Of course, I'm hugely enthusiastic about Hirokai Samura.

For writers, I like Frank Miller, Jeff Smith, and again, Hirokai Samura. ?_?

Go Johnen!
That dude rocks! I'd hafta say that he is my second favorite though, 'cause the dudes who wrote 'The House of Secrets' were sorta FUBARed, but their story line was incredible. I simply can't think of their names at this exact moment...

My favorite witer is Amelia Atwater-Rhodes! She's a vampire novelist...yes I'm geeky and read those things...But she's nowhere near as wondiferous as Anne Rice. That women can right some serious shiznit! Anywho, those were all that i could think of right now so...yerp!

Man, I haven't posted since the days when favourite threads were banned. Hell, DethBug was probably still Belzebumon back then.

I only started reading "Collectors' Editions" about a year ago (monthly comics, here in Britain) My favourite's so far have been:

Jim Lee. I thought that "Hush" storyline was confusing, bit boring at times and in the end it didn't seem to have a moral or a point, but I bought the comic anyway, just for the artwork. Some people say that Jim Lee can't draw emotions, but he can easily bee forgiven for the solidity and detail of his drawings makes up for it. Batman wasn't just anatomicaly correct he was anatomicaly enhanced. Those muscles are probably beyond achievement for a human being, I don't know how he managed it.

Scott McDaniel. Another artist I buy Batman Comics for. His work is kinda cartoonish, but added to bright colours from Roberta Teves and speedy storiline like "Penguin Dreams" and you get the same kind of excitement you used to get as a kid, when you ran aroun with a blanket on your back screeming "I'm Batman, I'm Batman!" . that dud has a way of story telling that hits you for real.

Frank Miller I have his Daredevill work from "Elektra" to "Good Guys Wear Red" and you know when re-reading some stuff I noticed that you can actualy see his work improving in both drawings and storylines. King Pin seems seriously clever and, well... intimidating, in Daredevil and yet he's not without sentimental side. Daredevil himself is not your usual Spider-Man or Deadpool. I love the way he rarely talks in costume, it makes him all so serious looking. Oh yeah and DD movie is the best comic book based movie, but that's for another time.

***Tyes a blanket on his back and runs arround, screeming "I'm Batman, I'm Bamtan! Whoosh! I can fly!"***
