I dont know why, but for some reason I keep wanting to watch this show. Its like, its sucking me in. Its actually pretty good show too because its about normal teenage stuff. It has friends and relationships and everything that happens to a real kid. does anyone else watch the show.

Wow, you're so literate! :smirk:

This is one horrible piece of junk called a show. All of the actors can't act, and the story line is dull as a...dull blade. I'm glad it was cancelled, but I wish it was taken off so the re-runs won't be shown.

I would think most anyone here that knows the show has mostly seen the last few seasons of it. The first few were quite good, at least when they first aired. I've not had it beaten into me since I don't watch the reruns, which is probably a good thing.

I like it pretty well, for the most part. especially Will Freidle (sp?). the parents are so dumb sometimes though. reminds me of Full House.

TV world
"Now Michelle, why did you wander away from Stephanie(?) at DisneyLand?"
"She made me mad!"
"Honey, you worried me so much. Please, please, PLEASE don't ever do something like that again."
*sugar shrug* "Mmm, okay."

Real world
"What the **** did you think you were doing?! When we get home, you're getting smacked!"
*starts crying* "No, daddy! I'm sorry!"
"Yeah, you're gonna be sorry. Now get in the car!"

then again, most shows around that age were like that anyhow.

Yeah, boy meets world is great! It son the disney channel as reruns and plays almost all day. It only got bad when Eric went to college and one of the Lawrence brothers got on the cast. Plus when Cory gets older he seemed a little too much like a meathead. Its a bad show, but I love trashy TV...at least there are life lessons involved, like when Shaun got involved in the teen cult (the center). Oh I was soooo worried for him. (god, I can't believe how much I love that show) I think I like it now better than when i was a kid.

I dunno, Ayokano, I think some american shows are alright. Especially for humor purposes. In all truth there is alot of crappy anime out there, or anime that I just don't like. It's usually the anime's that get me to think that are worth the time. You know, anime's like cowboy bebop, Trigun, etc. Anime's that make you cry when a main character dies and all. I suppose Japan has the advantage in that respect. But give me an american made live-action film any day *cough* fight club *cough*.

Watching the reruns, it's interesting to watch how some of the characters grow out of certain typical phases. Topanga used to be a highly spiritual person who channeled her spirit guide to get straight As in Junior High school. When she got to high school, her personality leveled out.

One thing that disappointed me is when Eric became dumber every year. The moment he graduated high school, he went from Cory's conceited older brother to a wacky moron to a wackier goof with a heart of gold. I've never seen a character on a TV show reveal a new haircut in such a stupid way in my life.

When Matt Lawrence joined the cast as Shawn's brother Jack, it was kinda weird for a while. But then he became Eric's best friend, something he hasn't remotely had since he graduated high school. Jack, for a while, was the most normal person in the cast. He played the straightman to Eric's goofball.

When Angela joined the cast, I thought it was about time they played into some tokenism. It took them forever to add a black person to the cast of that show (if you don't count that one teacher).

Now, what reallu upsetted me was when Cory became insane. At first, Cory was your average 12 year old kid. But when he and Topanga broke up, he became obsessed (almost in a creepy way) with getting back together with her. And when Shawn and Angela broke up, Cory was even creepier when he got all pushy about being Angela's friend. And let's not forget the episode when Cory was diagnosed with hypochondria (it's not really a disease. It's just when somebody thinks they're sick all the time for some psychological reason).

Shawn and Cory are just... odd. If Cory weren't so obsessed with his love for Topanga and Shawn wasn't gravitated toward Angel, you'd think those two were in love. They'd have these moments where they'd talk about their friendship in such a serious tone that it sounded like they were a couple. Ever see the episode where Shawn was dating a girl who dated Cory? Cory and Shawn had these secret conversations on the telephone where Shawn said how much he missed the sound of Cory's voice, and Cory was cooking this large meal that he wouldn't let anyone eat but Shawn.

Topanga complained about how much more Cory loved Shawn after they were married.

Obviously, I loved this show. Saved By The Bell: The New Class just wasn't any good, and Boy Meets World was the only show I could watch that was about teenagers.

It was a pretty good show when it started out. However, I think they should have cancelled it long before they did. Once Cory started going to college, the show not only lost its charm, but it just got ridiculous. Cory was acting as weird as ever, and they were running out of ideas.

I used to watch that show all the time, especialy on TGIF. It got real bad after Cory went to college, then his older brother, Shawn?, got really goofy, and his little inner plot thing got really far-fetched.

It was an awesome show for a while, and I still like to watch the earlier episodes.

It would be pretty boring just to see them sitting there having a normal conversation, whereas when they exaggerate how much those two value their friendship it makes you raise an eyebrow. ^__-

The show is not supposed to just be this all out drama/soap opera thing.

I do watch the show every now and then. I enjoy it enough. I think the older episodes (when Cory was a kid) are a bit annoying, though. The fact that they are these grade school kids who end up teaching these lifelong lessons is just very, very corny. That, and just everyone seemed to be rather annoying back then. Shaun was okay, Topanga was... interesting, lol. Once they got the shows going when they were older, I liked them more. Eric's character is just fun to watch. I really would not say he got dumber than his old self, but he definitely took a turn for the strange. I believe it was a good change, though. I have pretty much always enjoyed Shaun's character, just because he is kind of the "underdog" of it all. He is most succeptable to having to deal with greater issues. I also think I noticed he is in that Cabin Fever movie that is coming out. So obviously his acting career is now taking beyond just this show.

I think the show is well constructed for the kind of show it is. It may not be completely realistic, but it serves its purpose. I give it the credit it deserves.

I remembered... Mr. Feeny.

That guy is creepy. I think he has a thing for Cory. He lives next door, pops up all the time, watches everything Cory does... And to top that off, he even follows him to college. There's something going on there.

Speaking of Saved by the Bell... The College Years episodes always seem to come on when I'm doing nothing, so I wind up watching them for lack of nothing better to do.

To me the show is somewhat special: it started here in Finland in 1993, when I was at the third grade. Just few weeks ago, they started the season filmed 1999 (where Cory & co go to college). It's like the show has grown up with me. :)

As a TV-show it's pretty common, and if it hadn't been going on such a long time, I couldn't even separate it from all the American sit-coms that flood to the Finnish channels.

But there just has to be something in the show to make it last this long. To me it seems that in USA they start a new comedy-series every month, and only small part of them make it all the way here. What the secret of "Boy Meets World" is, I can't really say... To me it appeals with its familiar characters, who have grown up from little brats to young adults with me - although I haven't watched the show but every once in a while.

To conclude, the show isn't crap, but it really has nothing special in it. Go figure...
