I have 1-4 in the manga series, I'm waiting for the next one. I've never seen the anime, but I would really like to. I think it is pretty funny and I always like to read romance. I can't wait to see how it turns out... I think there is 12 or more books, but i'm sure it's 12.

I´ve read the first foru manga, and would like to read more, but I really can´t feel too sorry for her. I can´t stand people who just want to look good, so I´m glad that she met Arima and finally loostened up a bit. While both of them kinda get on my nerves, I can´t help thinking that meeting eachother was the best thing that ever happened to both of them, and that´s cool. Sometimes I´m just a sucker for a sappy romance, but I do want to see what happens next.

Well I enjoy the manga more then the anime myself(Ofcourse that seems to be the trend I have going)

The biggest reason being that the anime doesnt exactly end in a way that brings ever thing together...Ofcourse what do you expect from the man who made evangelion...

Anyway the manga continues past where the anime does and just has a slightly better story to me...

Either one is great though...its a sweet romance story thats nicely portrays how much of a pain teen "love" can be.

I read the first 2 manga and I really like it a lot. It is a very well written anime/manga. I find it pretty interesting seeing that it is a romance-comedy and I really don`t watch or read too much romance-comedy. I find it funny how miyazawa is jealous, she sound like me.

I only got to see the first episode, and merely glanced at the cover to one of the manga. I really did enjoy the one episode I saw, though. I'm going to probably rent that series next... after I finish Hellsing and Outlaw Star (again). Thanks for reminding me!

I was just awondering how many people watch/read Kare Kano? I have books 1-4 and I really enjoy it. I think this is a great comedy/romance story. I love pretty much all the characters. It is an interesing plot that you would normally think wouldn't be good, but I must say it is coming along nicely.
Does anyone have comments about it? What is your favorite character(s)? If anyone knows if and wen the anime is coming out in english that would be great!

I have 1-3 of the manga nad I think it's pretty good. Hidahaki is AWSOME! I wanna be his heep..*sniff* yeah but I think it's funny espically when they turn chibi and stuff. The artwork is beautiful I think. I 'm pretty sure the anime is out in the US. I 've seen it advertised at RightStuff. com. Actually I think I've seen it at Suncost too... Hope that will do! Yeah I was the first one to respond!

I've read 1-4. It says 5 is supposed to be out now, but I can't find it anywhere! *weep* But I really like it. It's another story of two people doing so much good for eachother. Kare KAno is one of my favorite romance mangas, along with Kodocha. They're just so sweet, and quite real too. While I usually prefer series with magic, this one I like just for the reality and relationships.

I have to agree with your Chichiri's Girl, I just love Hidahaki! He always cracks me up.^_^ I always like to read romances more than watch them, that's why I only read romance manga. I just like to watch the action/violence more. But anyway.... I think the artwork is fantastic and very beautiful. I also love the little stories that she makes sometimes at the end! Especialy that rabbit-girl one. I need the 5th book!!!!!
*starts searching* And did you say that the anime was out in the USA?*starts searching for that too.*

Yeah ypu can get it at Borders or anybig bookstore like that. AT my Suncost they have it and stores like that will probably have it. And if all else fails I KNOW you can by it off RightStuf.com. I've seen it there and I don't think it's that much eaither. Yeah but which extra one was about the rabbit girl? I've read 1-3 and the begining of 4 but no rabbit girl. Or is that the one where the girl breaks her glasses? Yeah I guess I'll read as much as I can next time at a bookstore...

Well, the rabbit girl one is at the end of the fourth book, so that is probably why you havn't seen it. I like the one when the girl breaks her glasses too. I know where to get the things I want... now all I need is the money!! (That is always an inportent part.)*Starts saving the money she never gets* O_o... this will take awhile.

Well, I've read the first volume of the manga and I saw the first DVD and I absolutely adored it. It sort of aggrivated me in many ways, just like Marmalade Boy does, but I did enjoy it. I want to see the rest of it and see how it all plays out, but alas, who has that kind of money? Not me.. ^_^;

I read half of the first manga at church, but I had to leave before I could finish it. ^_^;;;

Anyways, I wasn't suddenly in love with it or anything [like DN Angel], but I thought it was pretty good. There are about three romance animes I really do enjoy, and Kare Kano's animated version by GAINAX is one of them. I heard there's no real ending to the animated series, though, because GAINAX dropped the project and left fans hanging.

Oh I love Kare Kano! I have all 5 books that are out right now and I have to say it's one of my favorite manga series! heh heh, now I just gotta save up some money to buy the dvd's..... I especially like Yukino and her whole family because they are so funny together! The way the characters are drawn chibi is cool too.

Okay, I just finished watching this show. And as much as people love classifying Kare Kano as a typical Gainax anime with a typically "bad" ending, I really don't see where they're coming from. It's not exactly packed with closure, but I certainly didn't get the feeling that the staff simply stopped caring or something toward the end. If anything, the show sagged a little in the middle and then got much more interesting during the final arc.

After all the terrible things I'd heard about the ending of Kare Kano, I came away from it quite impressed. It was a lot more consistent than I had expected, and I thought the creators did an excellent job of working around what was obviously a small budget. While it did stop in the middle of a story arc, things sort of came full circle, and I'm satisfied.

Plus, it has one of the best English dubs I have ever heard. Sticking with the series was well worth it, if only to hear Liam O'Brien as the inimitable Hideaki Asaba (who was, incidentally, my favorite character). :animesmil

It's a bit of a copmlex story, really. It's good otherwise, I give it my props for the comedy, but the drama was a bit much for me.

I felt sorry for the main male character, I forgot the poor boy's name.. He had a hard past, and, well, Yukinon (I'll call her that cuz it ticks her off otherwise XD), she's so dramatic.. All like..

'MINE MINE MINE!'.. Just like little shortie (forgot her name too).. Other than that, it was a good story, and I loved the music! *dances about a bit*

I've seen the first six episodes of His and Her Circumstances (i.e. the first DVD), and I absolutely loved them. The series, at least from what I've seen so far, has a perfect balance of humor and seriousness. One moment I'm feeling attached to the characters and really caring about them -- then the next, I'm laughing at them. It's great.

I'm sad, though, because Netflix has listed the second DVD's availability as "unknown" for a few weeks. I'm kind of doubtful that they'll ever get it back in, so now I'm pondering other methods of getting my hands on the second DVD.

Every so often, Right Stuf (the online retailer that holds the license to His & Hers) offers this series as a cheap bundle, or else does a temporary price cut on the box set. It's gone as low as $30 to $35 in the past (versus a $130 MSRP), so if renting doesn't work out for you, you might want to keep an eye on their weekly specials or something. Of course, there's no telling how long it might be before another low-priced bundle pops up.

Wow, that would be awesome if I could the full set for only around $30-40 or so. It looks like a series which I'd really love to own for myself, so I'll definitely keep an eye on that. Thanks for the heads up.
