My FeedBack:
really nice Layout. I really like it.

My question/request:

Why did you choose the 'No New Post' symbol to be red? Not to complain but red is considered as a warning color. The colors red, yellow, and orange also symbolizes urgency, such as fire, poison, danger, new posts, ect...
May you change it to blue or something...

The colors just confuses me thats all...

[b]Probably because it matches the skin. Blue wouldn't go with it, duh.

And plus, there isn't any fire, poison, or danger on these boards.

Logan, you need to watch your attitude. It wouldn't kill you to be a little more polite.

James was trying to pick a color for the bar where the forum labels go. Like Gaming or whatever else. I told him to try red, and it fit. I'd imagine he just went from there. I think it works.

Red can mean lots of things. In this case it obviously contrasts the black/gray that is used for no new posts.

I like the new layout ^_^ Congratulations to James and jblessing, and others who have contributed on an awesome skins and new MyOtaku features.

The red's awesome, it's something different to blue. Since I've been here the skin's either been a shade of blue, purple or similar cold colors. The skin's graphics are top notch ~_^

I'm too used to the Industrial style. Haha, I didn't even know how big my sig was (why didn't anyone tell me?)!

Anyway, I have to say that grey always reminds me of "same old, same old." So, I agree with jblessing that the red should mean new, not old.

The icons were always red for new posts, and not red for old posts. At least from what I remember. I don't remember it ever being the opposite.

The Industrial style should have never been installed in my opinion. It had all these options and hacks in it that the technical guy at the time wouldn't even attempt to put into the skins James made (the tech guy did industrial). I hated that skin. It didn't look like OB in any way. It was like his attempt to take over the boards, in my opinion.

Yea, I noticed several examples of that.. for instance, the welcome message for logged in/logged out users.. where it showed your avatar, etc. All three of the forums' styles/templates were so buggy and had so many problems with them. I think it was about time James decided to do something about it ;) :p

I think that having red for new posts is appropriate...because you want something eye-catching. If you have grey for new posts, you won't notice it.

I understand the emotional attachments to red (I've gone through that stuff over and over again in college), but I think it's also worth reminding you that red can signify passion. ~_^

And generally, I did want to get away from the cool/mellow colouring. I wanted to be just a little more bold. Cool stuff will return for v7, when there are other optional skins.

EDIT: Regarding specific imagery...if something doesn't match or looks weird, you can be that I'll be replacing it this week. I just wanted to open the boards before that, otherwise they'd have been closed a lot longer. I felt that the skin was "complete enough" for people to use. I'll have all the icons and stuff wrapped up by the end of the week.

Yay! Oh, and for the newer members to the vB layout, might you want to change the font colour of the User CP main catagories from white to maybe... grey? I didn't notice it until I accidentally dragged the mouse. Either way, I think Red does catch your eye better than a grey would...
