Oh. My. God. I hate spiders. What do they need all those legs for anyway?

I have no idea why I hate spiders, it's an irrational fear. The little ones I can cope with, and by little I mean about two to three millimetres in body width. I live in england so we don't really get all the big spiders like wolf spiders and such (thank god!).

I hate it when your sitting around minding your own business and you turn your head to look directly at this spider sitting on your wall, just sitting there, twitching. Your begging it not to move as you get a glass and some paper (can't kill them you see, too much mess). The worst is when they run across the floor like a demented.....spider!

Oh ho, dead ones...when you find a dead spider in a draw or something and it's lying on it's back with it's legs all curled in on itself *shudders* nasty nasty nasty.

Speaking of which, I better go find that one that was nosing about the porch.

Yes...the Brazilian Wandering Spider is the world's most venomous spider. I read it in a magazine about Bugs, which was written by a famous British anthropologist. The spider looks very funky...it's also very large. Sometimes they get caught in crates of bananas, which get shipped overseas...and they give people a nasty scare. ~_^

Sydney Funnel Webs are nasty looking creatures. Not only are they relatively large....but they look like they were designed to frighten people to death. lol

The female is especially nasty looking. I'd take a tarantula any day, over a funnel web. The worst thing is, funnel webs aren't timid. They're actually aggressive, so they'll stand their ground rather than scurry away.

I live on a block of land with a lot of trees, so we get Huntsmans. They're like tarantulas...but they're quite flat. They can flatten themselves to squish between cracks in walls, or under doors. And they're insanely fast.

As far as I know, they aren't venomous at all. But they have very large fangs...their fangs are visible from quite a distance, usually.

However, they are very timid creatures. If they are disturbed by you, they'll run for it. I think you'd be very unlucky to be bitten by one, because they aren't at all aggressive.

Still, they are creepy if they find their way into your bed...or behind your curtain, or something.

I don't mind spiders generally, but I don't like them when they run over my body or something. lol

I wouldn't life in Sydney simply due to the Sydney Funnel Web. That thing terrifies me. lol Just looking at photographs makes my spine shiver. I'll put one up here if you want to see how it looks. ~_^

So if I ever lived in Sydney, I'd live in an apartment very far from the ground...lol. Ugghh.

Spiders don't scare me. The only thing I hate about spiders is about the vinimous[sp] ones and all. I think my dad got bit by a black widow around the house some where. I think it was a dry bite though so I thank God for that.

I actually don't mind spiders that much. I'd prefer not to be around them, but they really aren't that bad. Unless of course they're toxic little fangs inject lethal venom, there is a fear there.

Personally, I've only had a few encounters which actually involved contact. One would be with a green Jumping Spider, which somehow sat on the outside rear window of the car before piano lessons, and ended up in my hair afterwards.

Another happened more recently, a few days ago in fact. I was playing video games, when to my surprise, I felt a tickle upon my arm. That's when I saw the nasty little thing.--() It was a fair sized spider, crawling up my arm towards my neck, but I was lucky, and it crawled off and under the loveseat.

Oh, I also almost got into the shower with a spider larger than my big toe, torso-wise. Oh, and let me briefly mention the many spiders I've found in the hall late at night. Enough about that though.

I find it amusing that only female Black Widows are poisonous, and much more aggressive, does anyone else?^~ I don't know much more about spiders, but I will say I prefer Turantulas over a Brown Recluse, which as mentioned, injects more of an acid rather than a toxin. We've got them all over Oklahoma unfortunately, and I've encountered more than one, such horrid, quarter sized monsters.--

I've been lucky in my life, never been bitten, and hope it never happens.

The other day i almost got bit by a brown recluse!!!!!!!!!! To me i think they are the worst spiders and most poisinous and deadliest because when bit they're venom eats away at the skin like gan green. also, my friend lost his leg and a little section of his thigh cause of it.

I HATE spiders!! I live in an old house though, so I see them almost daily. I don't kill them if they're not moving or minding their own business. If it's near my bed or if it's big and has big legs, I'll kill it. I made a rule for myself: If the spider is not on my territory (my house) or if it has no intention of creeping me out, then I will not kill it. We coexist quite happily in my room, which only leads to more pets!!
