Umm.. for starters put more effort into your post AND how 'bout you answer that first?
But mine?.... Hmmm, there are some really interesting cartoons out there... Haha.. I got some good ones. I always love to watch SpongeBob SquarePants and Ed, Edd, and Eddy. Those cartoons are so demented and funny.
Yeah, I know I'm a retard, but hey those are some of the most entertaining. There is alot more but I'm really only 'sposed to say one anyway. So yeah.

Come on! Doesn't anyone remember the good ol' days?? With Bugs and Daffy and Tweety and Slyvester (sp), and Foghorn Leghorn, Elmer Fudd, Road Runner and Coyote??? You know I'm talking about Looney Tunes!! It's got to be the original, all these other shows just don't measure up!!! I mean, what other cartoons get banned just becuase they talk about WW2 and what happened over there??? And don't think that just because I'm writing this i'm really old. I'm a teenager too. I just happened to grow up with it, and that's why I love it so much!!!

It never got banned (as far as I know) but Astro Boy was created under similar circumstances... I read once that one of the reasons Osamu Tezuka created our favorite boy robot was to give a friendly face to the technologies that Japan would use to rebuild after WW2! Specifically, he gave Astro Boy a tiny nuclear reactor for a heart to help re-introduce the idea of nuclear power as a useful tool, and not just as a terrifyingly powerful weapon! (As most Nipponese understandably thought of it.) He would later write a darker but similarly-themed manga, Metropolis, that borrowed ideas, architecture, and themes from pre-WW2 Germany, and Marxist Moscow.

Anyway, all that to say that I'm a huge fan of Tezuka's, so I pick Astro Boy(!) as my favorite cartoon of all time! ?_?

DFantasy, you really have to work on your posts. Everything I've seen today hasn't even been one complete sentence. Would it be so hard to name what you like?

I'm not going to bother naming the Simpsons or Futurama. I'd probably pick Futurama in most cases.

I'm going with Batman. This is probably one of the best shows I've watched ever, animation or not. I liked it before they switched styles though. It started out rather realistic, and somewhere along the line they changed it. They dumbed down the look of the main characters and made all the villians look very cartoony. I stopped watching it at this point, because I just didn't find it visually pleasing anymore.

So basically the stuff around Mask of the Phantasm, in terms of animation. Mask of the Phantasm is still the best Batman movie ever, in my opinion.

Scooby Doo. I grew up with that, and have always loved it. Of course, they were mostly re-runs because I was not too alive during its original broadcasting, but I grew up with it anyway. I love the original Scooby Doo shows. I like the spinoff "A Pup Named Scooby Doo", and the other shows are okay. Besides the originals and the "Pup" everything else is just kind of beaten down.

I just like a comedic mystery. Sure, they are not really all that well written, but I was young and did not care. I still do not. I just love the show.

That, and Thelma is a babe. ^_~

I absolutaly LOVE The Angry Beavers. The old X-Men, Fantastic 4, Spiderman are awesome too.

Oh, can anyone think of the Loony Toon with the ten gallon hat, red hair and pistols that jumps up and down and turns bright red?
Cuz I love him and Marvin the Martian too, but am having a major brain fart right now! >_<

:p

He is pretty classic.

The best cartoons for me had to be any of the ones under the Looney Tunes banner - Yosemite Sam, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc, etc.

Other notables are...

- Mid-90's "Spider-Man"
- Mid/Late 90's "Batman"
- Dexter's Lab (when it first came out)
- Recess (Hey...it is cool...:p)

It's a hard decision for me. I like both the mid-90s Spider-Man cartoon that was on Fox and the Batman cartoon that was on WB, simply because both represented their comic book counterparts so well, it was amazing.

But if I had to choose, I would choose Batman, simply because it looked so damn incredible. The dark nature of the series was really cool and lent itself very well to Batman, who's supposed to be a dark character. And the villains in Batman have always been some of my favorites, so that's a plus.

They show it on occasion on Cartoon Network and it's nice to take a look back at an amazing series (especially since I hate Batman Beyond).

You all seem to be forgetting one very important cartoon...

Gargoyles.

That show is one-of-a-kind. It has action, unbelievable character development, social commentary, elements of mythology, and ties to classical literature. Thanks to that show, I knew the story of Macbeth before I'd even read the actual play.

Every "bad guy" on that show had a whole 'nother side to them that made them seem less evil. Everyone from Xanatos to Demona was very 3-dimensional, and you could see that each of them had good reasons for doing what they did. The romances between certains characters were present, but they didn't take over the show.

Very classic. One of the best cartoons ever made.

Gargoyles.
I remember that cartoon. ^_^

I think I still have that movie that was made about it. I really do not remember much about it. It did gives me dreams that I was a gargoyle though. I know what it is like to [strike]fly[/strike] glide on air currents. ^_^;

The main thing I remember about those dreasm was throwing the 'villain' of a roof and him being impaled upon a piked fence. >.>

Atleast somone mentioned the Simpsons.

I think the best is The Simpsons. If not that then Family Guy hands down. I am not more of the comic type cartoons or anything like that. I prefer the good comedy ones.

Those are the best. But I would have to say I do like Family Guy better, just because of the humor in it and all.

OMG!!! How could you guys forget The Cowboys of Moo-masa(I currentely can't remember how to spell it.)

On a more serious note, my favourite cartoon of all time has to be the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ! How could you not like that show, It was four green teenagers who love pizza fighting an evil brain from demension X who teamed up with their masters arch enemy, an instant classic!!! anyway I used to be obsessed with the Ninja Turtles, I have so much ninja turtle crap (including, but not limited to, the very hot and sought after ninja turtles bed sheets.)

It would easily be the simpsons if the last four or so seasons weren't complete garbage, so next in line is GIJOE. The coolest cartoon ever!!! It had great characters, racial diversity, stomping Cobra's and great storylines. The twins Tomax ans Xamot, where they would both get hurt if one got kicked in the stomach (which happened often). GIJOE even stands up with the cartoons of today, the old animation is better than Transformers ARMADA (which i hate)

The best cartoon of all time would have to be Animaniacs. Catchy theme song, lovably insane characters, and insanly complex plots. Aaah... good ol' Wako and his crazy bag of pranks. Tied for second would be Histeria, and Sam and Max, Freelance Police. I also like the Simpsons and King of the Hill. Crazy Dale. Makes me chuckle.

Letsee...

Invader Zim- I'm surprised only one other person has named this show so far. Yes, it's new, but it was...INCREDIBLE! The whole Zim and Dib thing was hilarious, as well as most anything that ever happened in that show. Or maybe I'm just biased towards anything Vasquez...

Family Guy- No explanation needed.

The Simpsons- Like others here, I agree that The Simpsons is slowing down. I would say they were best when they finally established that certain art style mid run. I consider that to be the show's prime.

Daria- Funny how I like this a whole lot better than Beavis and Butthead, although Daria was great in both. I get a kick out of how Kevin is always wearing his football pads hehe.

I'm not going to include any anime or adult cartoons in this. I'm only going to judge it by the shows I watched as a kid.

The thing that sticks out the most in my mind in "Looney Tunes" or "Merrie Melodies". Daffy Duck was always my favorite character.

And I was obsessed with the show "Ducktales", with Scrooge McDuck and his money bin. I can still sing the theme song, and have every episode memorized, to this day.

I was also enamored with "Voltron" althought I can't remember a damn thing about it except that it was produced by Saban and reminds me of "Power Rangers".
