Do you believe, in Angels

Different people call them differen't things, different roles, different beliefs about them, but I think that, ultimately, everyone, somehow, believes in some type of angel. You may call it by a different name, orit may look different, it may be good, or bad, and I want to know what you think.
I believe in angels, one of my favorite songs is called "what if she's an angel". One of the verses goes a little like this:

What if one day while you're watchin' TV,
Ya see a little girl on her daddy's knee,
Hidin' her disease with a baseball cap,
You can change the channel,
Most people do,
But what if you were sittin' in her, daddy's shoes.
What if she's an angel sent here from heaven,
Makin sure we all take the time, ta help one another,
Brother are you gonna pass that test,
You can, go on with you're daily life,
Tryin to forget what ya saw in her face,
Knowin deep down, ya coulda been her savin grace,
But what if she's an angel.

*looks at his Evangelion box set* Uh.. Yeah, I believe in Angels. And Evas.. :p

But in all seriousness, though, I believe in religion, specifically Christianity, though I never actually go to church.. But when I think of an angel, I don't think of little children with wings, necessarily.. I think of a person who has done one of two things:

1) One who has been a good enough of a person to be let into heaven

or

2) One who helps others, no matter what the cost.

^_^' Of course, those both could be considered the same thing.. But the second one doesn't necessarily mean one who is dead. A person who has fought for the good of all people, or helped the weak or innocent... They could be considered angels in my book..

I do, though I'm not entirely sure of their precise role, I definately acknowledge their existance.

I won't say anything more, because it would just be my own speculation, rather than stated facts. I've never done a study on angels, myself. Being an aspiring preacher, my studies tend to focus of doctrines.

I believe in angels as a seperate being created by a God. I am a Christian, and have done some minor bible study, and it often mentions that God created Angels and Men, not just one. Oh well, the entire Bible is open to a massive interpretation fest, and I will not force my interpretation on a soul, just share it to those who ask, ;)

I believe in angels, They're all around us, some I believe, watch over us, some sing God's holy praises (Revelation)

I'm doing a study of Angels, I am reading a booky by Billy graham on the angelic presence, and they will play an intrical role in Rising Sun, my own anime series, If God so wants.

I've heard of many stories in which Angels sent by God help humanity, In one such case, a Chinses woman who had heard about how Jesus can save you in your darkest hour, came across a ferocious tiger, who decided to have her for dinner, she cried out to Jesus, and the tiger ran away! here's an easy meal for the tiger, as she was rendered helpless by the tigers initial blow, and it just ran off, was this lady protected? I bleieve so...

Theres also alot of interesting theories on Lucifer and the angelic rebellion around the internet too, though I'm not too sure how credible they are. But what i've learned so far of the angelic darjk side is, Lucifer, or Satan, was an angel of light, He was kicked out of heaven for his rebellion by Michael the Arc-Angel. and there are both good and bad angels are all around us, and the bad ones don't have pitchforks. :p

I don't belive in angels or a god, multiple gods, a all powerful being or anything. The reason behind this is simple. I belive strongly and only in science. I don't belive in anything without a strong presence of proof. One thing that gets on my nerves is the :ahem:, who was probably drinking out of a lead cup, thought he saw a godly figure in the sky watching down on us. There is no proof that a god exists nor angels. Just stories.... like a fiction story. The messege of god only gives people false hope. In the game FFX the writer was trying to make the point of how blind people are. They believe things other people have written with no proof. They follow something believing that if they do... they will eventually go to another, better place.

When ever I talk to a highly intellegent person, they say the same thing.. But most people follow religions just to be on the safe side like.... "What if it is true?" When ever I discuss this topic with anyone they say "They how did we get here? Huh?"
The answer is simple. The nebula of our solar system created 9 planets, a bunch of asteroids, and a star. A small star at that. The planet known as "Jupiter" is so large it almost became a star. If that happend it would be impossible to live on earth, the solar orbits would be corrupted, and we would all be crushed because of the akward orbit of any palnet that would be suitible to live on. Well, anyway. The sun was shining on a desert wasteland with overly large amounts of water for blillions of years. The sun was shining on it so long energy started to crystilize. That eventually turned into a non-mobile, non-thinking, plant, known as algea, today. And plants evolve just as animals do. The algea began to populate and populate untill it crept onto land then rooted itself as a weed. That weed turned to other plants like grass. Through blillions of years of evolution plants became mobile animals. Eating eachother and plants((This was the dinosaur era.)). Things started to evolver into smaller meat-eaters, so they wouldn't eat as much. Well... I think I am a little off topic. Enough said. We did evolve from primates.

But that, as they say, is that. And those are my beliefs. I am not trying to push them upon other people.

I kind of follow my own set of beliefs, and they do work in the whole angel angle. I don't really believe in all those subsets and such, but I do think there has to be some sort of messengers and so on.

I love reading about angels though. Not those lame "an angel saved me!" stories, but the old stories and tales surrounding them. The nephilim, the Watchers and so on. My username is based on such things.

I do, in a way, even though I am not Christian. More guardian angel kind of set, rather than Holy Messengers. A kind of spirit tht keeps an eye on people. Twice, I have been in an accident involving cars, and both times I was un-injured. My mu swears, that she wasnt in control of the car when we crashed, she says that an angel was driving (as in saved us from the serious crash). But I may be wrong. Coincidence maybe. And personally, I felt that your post Silverfire was slightly. hhmmmm. Forceful and perhaps verging on rude. Doesn't bother me but may offend others. Uum. Oh, and Nashville Dream, could you cut donw your siggie a bit. It is over a page long. Good subject though

Angels, to me are not materiel beings as some would have it, but those little things that make living worthwhile, as some would call miracles. Miracles are different to different people, to me, they are like a beautiful sunrise/sunset, a flower blooming, a child's innocence, a young fawn, just beginning to walk, It dosen't have to be great to be something, just those little tiny things, I suppose my question wasn't really if you believe in angels, but what you think of them, what you believe they are, that sort of thing.

I like reading stories about the Nephilim and the Watchers as well, do you have any good websites that have such stories? I have only found a couple, and they're very interesting. Especially about the angel you named yourself after, Semjaza Azazel.

:P Semjaza Azazel was the first angel after Lucifer to betray God, right? Not sure, really. I read something of it a very long time ago.

But anyways, I don't believe in angels. Mainly because I don't believe in God or some Spirit either. I really do think all these 'angel' sightings are made up or some other supernatural thing.

Yes, yes I believe in angels. I also believe in god. I mean, somebody had to start all this. Why not believe in god? See, nature cannot start by itself. In the begining there was nothing, correct? Anyway, someone, or something had to start it all. So why not god?

But we are talking about angels here. I do believe in angels. When someone dies, and if they go to Heaven then they can be considered an angel. So far that is what I believe.

Hmmm I am interested in hearing your theorys of how God was created. As you said, Spikey, Nature cannot start itself. So I am curious. After all nothing existed forever.

You stumped me my friend.

How wasn't he created. I look at it like this. Spirits have to gather. Nothing existed, nothing at all. So if nothing exsisted then nothing could happen. So no one existed. God is not a person he is a spirit. Nature nothing created him.

Se if you look at it like this, there had to be something before god. So if you don't think that God is really here, then how did this all happen. As you said, nothing can be created on it's own, so how did it create.

Answering your question is very tough. My theory is that something gathered in the black hole/universe. I believe that God did not create the universe, I believe he created the earth. If the black hole was there, stuff could form into cells. Such as other stuff from the earth.

Either that or maybe he was just there, and then everything else was created. I cannot answer your question all the way right now. I am sorry, my theory is not very good. I will look into it. The best answer I can really give you is that it just started. That is all I can really answer. Now I have nothing against your beliefs, I do not judge, I just look at it my own way. My own opinion.

No, I do not believe in Angels, at least in the religious sense.

It doesn't work in what I think...prehaps there are, but I am not going to falsely believe in something my whole life. I'd rather stand in the middle of it all...basically not care either way. That is what I say to things such as God and angels.

You, truthfully, cannot believe in something with all of your mental, spirtual, and physical well-being until you first experience it. Whether you think that you have experienced God, or what not, I don't know. But I haven't.

So no.

Spikey, I said nature cannot create itself sarcasticly. Nothing existed before the big bang. There is more than one universe. Each seperated by space and time. Each evolve at different rates. That is my theory. As yours is that an all powerful being "God" created everything. Some people believe the big bang. Some people believe stationary and set. Some people believe god, budda, whatever, all powerful force, something that created everything. People have the right to belive what they want... Enough said.

I havwe never seen an angel, but i beleive in them. Much liek this time when my family was in Greece, We wnet to vivsit soem relatives and we went to this small villag. The house where my relatives lived was on an inclosed street with a road about 10 ft. in width and cars did go threw it, but it was a one way road. Most cars could barely fit threw it. So as the story goes, me and my little brother where playing around and i started to chase him. he went into the road, but at soon as he stepped out, a big truck came along threw the road, and the truck pushed the roads limits. We thought he had been ran flat and everyone started to scream and run towards the road. I was part of this. We walked over and saw my brother hugged agaisnt the wall by his back. We were all releived that he had left he accednt with nothing more than a knicked elbow. The older women cried and went into prayer. My brother who was talking to everyone about it, said that he felt soemthing pull him back. He didn't know what, but he felt it sure enough. He said that if it weren't for that, he would have been under the truck. I have forever then knew that there was something otherwordly at the works. And before you say my LITTLE brother is lying or makign it up, not that he is only 8 years old when this happend, and that he was so shocked, he couldn't have even wanted to lie. And this is why i beleive. Adn i'm actually not all that relegoius. Jsut enought to call me a christian.

People believe in ghosts, in demons, in mostly everything. Heck, lets throw in Angels as well!

Sure, Angels are real, and they are just what they are. Angels. And it's not really for use to know what they are supposed to do either, because if we knew what they where supposed to do, we would do it ourselves. So it's kinda a good thing we dont know what they are supposed to do, in a sense.... yeah, don't mind me. Im just gonna.....

I believe in angels, and believe I have actually seen them. See, it was the last day of our Mexico Mission trip with my Youth group right, and we went to this lake in Del Rio for a swim that afternoon. At the end we prayed for God to send blessings and protection from Satan as we baptised people in the name of Jesus. So at the end when it was getting dark, we went to the cars to leave, but one of the adults decided to take a pisture of the sunset. It was a digital camera, so we viewed the picture immediately and saw all these bright dots on the screen in the shape of little crosses, (or it could have been people with their arms out) but we thought it might just be a glare, so we took it again from a different angle and got the same phenomenon. We took many pictures of different spots in the ground and guess what,... same story! We took two consecutive pictures of the same spot and got the dots again, but in the second picture (remember, the camera did not move from the previous spot at all) the dots had moved out, like they were leaving. It was pretty cool. So I definitely believe in angels.
