James
There's no reason why new members can't say hello within the course of their posts. We had a Newbie Lounge a while ago and it was incredibly spammy. If you read our rules and Posting FAQ, you can see that we encourage high quality posting at OtakuBoards. We feel that members will make themselves known by the standard of their posts, rather than by some kind of introduction thread.
Zanarkand Abes
I kinda agree with both of you guys, I have been around since last fall, and I still am not known very well. But in order to get known, it seems you must post a lot in every forum or at least just not in the same forum over and over again. But the posts do need to be of good quality, otherwise you become dull and pesky.

Braidless Baka
Well, as for "getting to know people" you've just gotta put forward decent points, keep up your post quality, stuff like that. I've got quite a lot of friends on OB that I've "met" in various ways. Most of my friends were made in the Adventure Arena, but I made some in the .hack forum, etc etc You don't really need to introduce yourself, people will notice you. And heck, if you see someone you want to get to know better why not send them a PM? A lot of my friends approached me first ^_^;; I'm kinda shy when it comes to things like that. You're noticed by a lot more people than you think you are. I reckon everyone is O_o I talk about the members of OB regularly with my friends offline, and not just the ones who know I do ^_^

Lol. Anyway, I'm a newbie and even I even think a newbie forum would bring up so much spam, the mods would take a gun to their temple. And yes, you don't really have to introduce yourselves to people on the OB. I know I notice about everyone in a lot of forums. Unless I'm more observant than most of the people on the OB (which I think is highly unlikley ^.^;) then mostly everyone gets "introduced" in their posts. ~Xaru. Edit: I forgot to click disable smileys. -_-;
Justin
You don't lie when you say 'the mods would take a gun to their temple'. We would. lol. The Newbie Lounge was something feirce in the way of spam. That was one forum I did not miss when I became a normal moderator. -Justin
Guest Inyuasha
does n e one know how to customize ur text?
James
Inuyasha, you can visit the OtakuBoards Information Center (and the Posting FAQ inside it) to see how to customise your text. Secondly, what you're posting here is pretty much off-topic. It would have been better to PM a Moderator/Category Moderator with your question. And that brings me onto my third point; the rules. We expect every member to read 'em, or run a pretty significant risk of being banned at some point along the line. You can find the rules in the Info Center as well. And finally, I urge you to clean up your post quality. "n e one" should be "anyone" and "ur" should be "your". I know it seems like a minor thing, but it's for everyone's benefit here. We are always encouraging people to put thought and effort into their posts. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to PM a staff member.
