Hyper
Goodbye By the Spice Girls I like this song. The lyrics are understandable for one, and it just seems like such a thorough message. Even though you can pretty much tell this was meant for Geri Hallowell (Ginger Spice) who left the group, you cna apply it to real life. No, no, no, no, No, no, no, no, No, no, no, no, Now listen little child, there will come a day, When you will be able, able to say, Never mind the pain, or the aggravation, You know there's a better way for you and me to be, Look for the rainbow in every storm, Fly like an angel, heaven sent to me, Goodbye my friend, I know you're gone, you said you're gone, But I can still feel you here, It's not the end, Gotta keep it strong, Before the pain turns into fear, So glad we made it, Time will never change it, no, no, no, No, no, no, no, Just a little girl, big imagination, Never letting no one take it away, Went into the world (into the world) what a revelation, She found there's a better way, for you and me to be, Look for the rainbow in every storm, Find out for certain loves gonna be there for you, You'll always be someone's baby, Goodbye my friend, I know you're gone, you said you're gone, But I can still feel you here, It's not the end, Gotta keep it strong, Before the pain turns into fear, So glad we made it, Time will never change it, no, no, no, No, no, no, no, You know its time to say goodbye, No, no, no, no, The times when we would play about, The way we used to scream and shout, We never dreamt you'd go your own sweet way, Look for the rainbow in every storm, Find out for certain, love's gonna be there for you, You'll always be someone's baby, Goodbye my friend, I know you're gone, you said you're gone, But I can still feel you here, It's not the end, Gotta keep it strong, Before the pain turns into fear, So glad we made it, Time will never, never, ever change it, No, no, no, no, You know it's time to say goodbye, No, no, no, no, And don't forget you can rely, No, no, no, no, You know it's time to say goodbye, And don't forget on me, you can rely, No, no, no, no, I will help you, help you on your way, I will be with you everyday, No, no, no, no, I will be with you everyday, No, no, no, no, I will be with you everyday. Kind of a sad song, isn't it?
Squall
"...People always talkin what they gonna do, they must want their face to maybe taste my shoe. (part that would probably get me in trouble) I don't got time for the crooks and the cronies, the cops and the creeps and the peeps and the phonies. Am I the only one on my side? Test my pride I bet you'd run and hide." ~Kid Rock The rest of my favorite lyrics are in latin, and would probably put you to sleep. :-)

Break
Well, here it is... Please take me by the hand, It's so cold out tonight. I'll put blankets on the bed, I won't turn out the light. Just don't forget to Think about me And I won't forget you "I'll write you once a week", she said. Why does it feel the same To fall in love or break it off, And if young love is just a game Then I must have missed the kick off. Don't depend on me To ever follow through on Anything, but I'd go through hell for you and I haven't been this scared in a long time, And I'm so unprepared, so here's your valentine: Bouquet of clumsy words, a simple melody. This world's an ugly place, but you're so beautiful to me. I'll think about the times She kissed me after class and, She put up with my friends. I acted like an ***. I'd ditch my lecture To watch the girls play soccer. Is my picture Still hanging in her locker? I haven't been this scared in a long time, And I'm so unprepared, so here's your valentine: Bouquet of clumsy words, a simple melody. This world's an ugly place, but you're so beautiful. I haven't been this scared in a long time, And I'm so unprepared, so here's your valentine: Bouquet of clumsy words, a simple melody. This world's an ugly place, but you're so beautiful. It's Going Away to College by Blink 182. I am not sure why I love these lyrics so much, I haven't lived through stuff like that yet, lol. But I can understand how whoever wrote the song felt. I find it quite.. powerful, I guess.
LostProphet
Well, here it is... Tired of being what you want me to be Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface Don't know what you're expecting of me Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes [Caught in the undertow, we're just caught in the undertow] Every step that I take is another mistake to you [Caught in the undertow, we're just caught in the undertow] I've become so numb I can't feel you there Become so tired So much more aware I'm becoming this All I want to do Is be more like me And be less like you Can't you see that you're smothering me Holding too tightly, afraid to lose control 'Cause everything that you thought I would be Has fallen apart right in front of you [Caught in the undertow, we're just caught in the undertow] Every step that I take is another mistake to you [Caught in the undertow, we're just caught in the undertow] And every second I waste is more than I can take I've become so numb I can't feel you there Become so tired So much more aware I'm becoming this All I want to do Is be more like me And be less like you And I know I may end up failing too But I know You were just like me With someone disappointed in you I've become so numb I can't feel you there Become so tired So much more aware I'm becoming this All I want to do Is be more like me And be less like you I've become so numb I can't feel you there [Tired of being what you want me to be] I've become so numb I can't feel you there [Tired of being what you want me to be] -Numb by Linkin Park

Mitch
Bob Dylan-Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again Oh, the ragman draws circles Up and down the block. I'd ask him what the matter was But I know that he don't talk. And the ladies treat me kindly And furnish me with tape, But deep inside my heart I know I can't escape. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Well, Shakespeare, he's in the alley With his pointed shoes and his bells, Speaking to some French girl, Who says she knows me well. And I would send a message To find out if she's talked, But the post office has been stolen And the mailbox is locked. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Mona tried to tell me To stay away from the train line. She said that all the railroad men Just drink up your blood like wine. An' I said, "Oh, I didn't know that, But then again, there's only one I've met An' he just smoked my eyelids An' punched my cigarette." Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Grandpa died last week And now he's buried in the rocks, But everybody still talks about How badly they were shocked. But me, I expected it to happen, I knew he'd lost control When he built a fire on Main Street And shot it full of holes. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Now the senator came down here Showing ev'ryone his gun, Handing out free tickets To the wedding of his son. An' me, I nearly got busted An' wouldn't it be my luck To get caught without a ticket And be discovered beneath a truck. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Now the preacher looked so baffled When I asked him why he dressed With twenty pounds of headlines Stapled to his chest. But he cursed me when I proved it to him, Then I whispered, "Not even you can hide. You see, you're just like me, I hope you're satisfied." Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Now the rainman gave me two cures, Then he said, "Jump right in." The one was Texas medicine, The other was just railroad gin. An' like a fool I mixed them An' it strangled up my mind, An' now people just get uglier An' I have no sense of time. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. When Ruthie says come see her In her honky-tonk lagoon, Where I can watch her waltz for free 'Neath her Panamanian moon. An' I say, "Aw come on now, You must know about my debutante." An' she says, "Your debutante just knows what you need But I know what you want." Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. Now the bricks lay on Grand Street Where the neon madmen climb. They all fall there so perfectly, It all seems so well timed. An' here I sit so patiently Waiting to find out what price You have to pay to get out of Going through all these things twice. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again.
Dagger
Hallelujah Rufus Wainwright I've heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? It goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah. Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to a kitchen chair She broke your throne, and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah. Maybe I have been here before I know this room, I've walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew you. I've seen your flag on the marble arch Love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah. There was a time you'd let me know What's real and going on below But now you never show it to me, do you? And remember when I moved in you The holy dark was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah. Maybe there's a God above And all I ever learned from love Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you. And it's not a cry you can hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah. There are also many, many Blues Traveler lyrics that I'd like to post, but I don't want to take up too much space. ~Dagger~
Manic Webb
So it all comes down to my judgement, huh? Well, I gave this thread a chance, but it just turned into a copy-paste fest. Most of you are just pasting your favorite lyrics and not really discussing them that much. Plus some of you have the lyrics just plain wrong.
