Anime Yaoi (esp. Gravitation)

I don't understand why, and yet...I am a rabid yaoi fangirl. If it involves two guys with each other, I'm so there.
I'm digressing from my point though. Gravitation is an incredible anime, no? The manga's even better (even if the last one is labeled 'to be continued...?'). It has depth of character mixed in with all the slapstick, all while telling an amazing story about not only romance between two guys, but friendship, competition, and just generally making it in the music business (not to mention the fact that Nittle Grasper ROCKS!). Does anyone else feel this way? Or am I alone on this?

*smirks*, don't get me started on how great I think Gravi is. I know it's like a soap opera and everything but really, I think it's wonderful. It's hilarious to tell you the truth, I nearly killed myself laughing in ep2 where shuichi's getting ready to go on stage. It's so funny.

I'm not usually one for slapstick comedy but this is good stuff. Also, what with Yuki being the extreme stone hearted b*****d he is and being so mean to shuichi. It's just so sweet. The music's great too.

I recommend Gravi to anyone who will listen, and this also seems like a wonderful time to plug my Gravi fics...just click on the link in my sig ^_~

It's probably one of my [i]favorite[/i] animes of all time. The series is nice and short, and I love the storyline. Suichi's expressions were priceless, really. The comedy is always good, and I never went through a single episode without having some sort of laughing fit.

--Anyways, the music was a huge plus for me. I used to be obsessed with the ending theme [i]Glaring Dream[/i] and all those orchetral pieces in the anime.

Well, two parts of the anime confused me at first.

[spoiler] When Ryuiichi was listening to Suichii's video, seen as Kumagora, and he then walks past Suichii very coldly....I never really understood that. Ryuichi said it "Wasn't reaching.", and I'm guessing that he felt that Suichii wasn't putting his real passion into singing. *shrugs*[/spoiler]

Ryuichi and Suichii's relationship interested me very greatly, since Suichi started out [spoiler] as an admirer of Ryuchi, and then given a choice of being his rival or friend.[/spoiler] Heh, Ryuichi's little change on stage reminded me of Rurouni Kenshin....a lot.

The next thing that confused me was [spoiler] when Yuki arrived in New York, [beginning of episode 13, me thinks] and he stares at that beat-up old man and then in turn the old man ends up running madly away from him. I finally figured it out not too long ago....the man was the person who raped it! *giggles* O_o I actually connected that gun and the gun in the man's waistpocket before, and I felt extremely stupid.[/spoiler]

:D In point, I love Gravitation. I've started to read the manga as well, and I love it too. ^_^ The OVA of Gravitation is a nice extra video to watch. The art style is something new, but I liked it anyway.

^_~ Well, I also love Yami no Matsuei. If you haven't checked it out, you should. It's sold at Best Buy, to my surprise. It's based around roughly three guys, Tsuzuki, Hisoka, and Muraki. The apparant couple in the anime is Tsuzuki/Hisoka, but Muraki is the insane doctor that goes around doing bad stuff to get Tsuzuki to come. :P I should add that Tsuzuki and Hisoka are what people call the "Shinigami", basically a force of dead people [that look alive and kicking] that go around fighting supernatural forces. Tsuzuki is actually a very lazy Shinigami, and Hisoka was tricked into being partnered with him. Well, anyways, you'll later find out that Tsuzuki is actually a very talented Shinigami.

Er, back to Muraki. He's the insane doctor who likes to...*cough*molest*cough* Tsuzuki [i]a lot[/i] and is certainly a weirdo. It's still a good anime, although very corny at times.

My favorite yaoi coupling so far is Shinji/Kaworu. ^o^ I really do love them... [/size]

I recently started watching this series, and so far my sister and I absolutely love it! Shuichi is soooo cute! And Yuki, well....he quite the hottie , eh?

We've still got several more episodes until we're done. And yes, the music is great!

Have y'all check out the animation book? It's pretty nice. I like the pictures a lot.

Heh, I was obsessed with it before I even read it. It's very addictive. *huggles the "London" shirt from volume 1* I love Shuichi's clothes! Yea, they're a little...out there sometimes. But I love them anyways. And Yuki and Shuichi's relationship is...."interesting". I can't wait until October when the next volume comes out! And I've been waiting for a while to watch Yami no Matsuei for a while too. I finally found the DVD series in FYE and I'm goin' to buy it once I get enough money. :sweat: But I have to be careful so that I have enough to go to Genericon. And FAKE looked kinda cool when I skimmed through it in Borders. Well, c-ya on the other side!

No, no not like THAT. It ment that Muraki (*swoon*) does bad stuff so Tsuzuki will go to where he is committing evil deeds to save the day, thus putting Tsuzuki and groping distance. Actually theres not as much shounen ai in YnM as in the manga. :(

As for Gravi :love2: I LOVE it SOOO muuch. I guess I started watching it a little after I became a yaoi fan, because I saw clips of it in an InuYasha AMV. It really helped me to become more of a yaoi fangirl. :) I LOVE Ryuichi (and I thought Yamaguchi-san did a great job playing him). Ryuichi is a lot like me, weird and with dual personalities. ^_^ I actually love and could recognise most of the voice actors in Gravi, especially Orikasa Ai. I tink that Yuki needs more help (he does alredy have help), he should get it from Shu-chan. :D
I like FAKE as well. Its soo yummy. Good acton too. (not THAT kind... but soon Dee shall have his way :laugh: )

I don't really have a favorite pairing. I have foforites but no particular one. Actually I like most. :naughty:

Err this maybe odd but I am a fanboy of decendant of the dark. it's a yoai but not hardcore.... so I don't know how it could be defined lol.

Shonen ai most likely, the manga is more yaoi-ish but still shonen ai really.

It is, I've seen both manga and anime. both have strong moments but nothing serious...

It's definately shounen-ai, but there are some parts that could make your parents uncomfortable about pre-teens or teens watching it.[/size]

I want to see this show SO badly... *stares greedily at boxed set* It looks really awesome. I did hear that they cut some parts out of the official American release.... does anyone know if that's true?

I'm not sure if the cut anything out...don't they just keep everything on DVDs they sell at Best Buy etc? O_o I hope they don't cut stuff out on American release in stores...[not TV. Lord knows how much stuff they edited out of anime shows for television]
