Sakura
Oh ok.... Well it's about some people. There's colonies and the males and females are seperate. The females are called Mejale and males are called Tarak. They don't like each other. The main character is a male named Hibiki. The second main character's a female called Dita who always calls Hibiki Alien-San.Because she's never seen a male before.Hibiki was taken by the females in a ship along with two other males.Bart.He's kind of sick minded and soon becomes the Pilot of the ship that the females overtook, the named it Nirvana. And Duerro. He's a doctor.Hibiki pilots a mecha called a Bangata. It's called SP Van but he addresses it as Partner. The females pilot ship like mechas called Dreads.Hibiki's bangata has a special power to join with a dread to become a better robot but the girl always lands on his lap or he's on her lap.The main Dread pilots are Dita,Meia and Jura. There's a lot more to the story too but I can't explain it.I think it's a really good anime.I hope that's clear....If not PM me or something. Zephyr
I have seen it before. I have rented the DVD's from the library in town, but still missed a few episodes since the collection is not complete. To say the least it is a very interesting, yet strange anime. I am still trying to figure out if the ship is alive, since they refere to it as a living being numerous times. I believe there is also a second version of Vandread, which I have seen sitting in one of the library's offices.
Sakura
Yes.You are quite correct Phoenix. There is a sequel called Second Stage. I can't believe your library has it.How cool. I've only seen it from my brother's friend's cds of it. I've seen First Stage and a bit of Second Stage I do admit that it's a bit strange. But it is interesting... So would anyone want to join an RP about it.Without the original characters though.

Now people you must answer my question. Would you join a RP about Vandread? Even if you're not an RP person please just give your views on the matter. Thanks! Inuyasha311
Yeah I love this anime I just got done watching it the other day and have ordered it.I must say this anime was very good I think I cried twice. And to me the music makes the anime and this anime has some very good music and story. The setting really good and the anime itself with all the bright colors.I liked the doctor he was very cute even if you couldn't see his whole face.On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this anime a 9 just because its only 26 episodes long.
Shiro_Ryuu
I've seen the entire series, both 1st and 2nd stages and I thought it was pretty cool. It had some good music, a good storyline, and very interesting characters. I think all of the characters there are cool except for that annoying girl who
keeps spying on Hibiki and Dita all the time.
Delta
It's a very nice anime. I think the same people who drew GateKeepers made Vandread. At first it seems as if it doesn't follow a definite plot but it develops later on in the series (more so in the Second Stage. There's even a rumor about the existence of a Third Stage). Every episode's different from the others; some are funny and doesn't contribute much to the whole story, and some are vital but are presented in an entertaining way. You should watch
"What a Wonderful World" (episode 6, I think). Meia's history is narrated around the song by Louis Armstrong of the same title.
Buy this anime. It's worth it. Love and Peace! :love2:

lcrisler
Vandread I thought was really well done...I love the art, and the music, and how there's a good deal of sexual innuendo sounding stuff that's meant in such an innocent way...then there's Jura...the guys in my room all wished they were animated because of Jura, and they all cheered Hibiki with regards to her! However...I didn't like
how fast-paced the ending to season two was...four episodes from the end...'Oh, Hibiki's from the past, etc. etc.' seemed like a rushed ending...
This series was way too short. noelmvilla
Vandread is a good series. But I think it would be better to watch the whole series only once. I watched the replays and it sucked. I don't like watching a short series again. But if you'd really like space sdvenyure and sci-fi, then go knock yourselves out. My fave character there is Meia. She's really cool. I like that metal thing on on forehead and her blue hair ROCKS!!! And her outfit.... Oh, man!!
IceRose
I have seen the first stage and the second stage. Vandread has proven to me that is a great anime to watch. My favorite character is Gagscone she is cool and very helpful mostly in the ending episode. I do get annoyed by Paimei and her obsession with takin pictures of everything including Hibiki in the bathroom. I can see the connection that the male characters develop with the female characters towards the end of the series. Pharfeit and Duero look so cute together but they can't really understand what they are feeling because men and women are suppossed to hate each other. Dita and Hibiki understand each other pretty well and finally Hibiki has to admit he likes Dita.
You Don't Care
Vandread was my first complete anime that I watched. About two years ago, I picked it up, watched the first episode and said, "Damn! This **** is hilarious! I can't wait to get the next volume!" Then I realized that I still had more episodes left on the disc. Then I picked up Excell Saga and watched it next. After Vandread and Excell Saga, most of everything else that I rented (from my local anime store) egged on nothing but crap. It's hard watching the best first. Actually, it forced me to demand the best out of every piece of work. GET THIS ANIME, PEOPLE! And "it's " (pronounced)!
Zutto
so, has anyone watched Vandread? the girls and guys live on different planets, and eathlings are aliens! lol it's a good anime, and very very funny! you guys should check it out, and if you have seen it, lets talk about it ^^
Eva10
Yes, Vandred is a great anime series i've seen both 1st and 2nd stage. The story line is so original. Making earth the enemy is genius and the artwork is amazing. :animesmil
Killer7
I just ordered the 1st and 2nd stage off of ebay, but I have two questions. Since the males and females are enemies, how do they reproduce, and is thier alot of reference to homosexuality?
Delta
Oh no... not really. For the women of Mejer, it's just a matter of filling up the role a male parent. They don't really have intercourse per se, but the "male" parent's DNA is seeded into the "female's" womb. See the sixth episode of the first season. I've no idea how them Talark mates reproduce but I distinctly heard a guy from First Season, Episode 1 invite another man to have a baby. Maybe it's similar to the Mejer method, only with an artificial womb. As for homosexuality... err, none. At least I didn't see any hints of homosexual tendencies from any of the characters (I wasn't following the three seasons closely enough). Oh, but there was with one itsy-bitsy thing with
Jura and Barnette...
Gentle
I've seen all of First Stage and Second Stage so I guess that would be everything since there's not more. I think the main reason I even continued to watch it after just the first time I caught it was because of all the females in it. I'm a strong feminist and seeing so many woman in command of three men just made me jump at it. But even without that it would be a good anime anyway. Though, I'm really picky about voices and Hibiki, Bart, and Dita's just annoyed me for being so raspy and high pitched. I loved Celtic for absolutely no reason so getting caught up into the plot took forever since it didn't start to form completely until the middle of the Second Stage. I haven't seen the series in a few months so I can't remember the name at the moment, but I was finally overwhelmed with myself when I found out
the commander was actually a male spy, watching the ship for Tarak. Then at the end when all the woman were preparing for battle,
I was giddy and didn't move until I was done. Lol, really good anime this is. Excuse me, I'm really cheap and watch everything straight from my TV. And yes about the homosexuality, I'd be with Delta on that. It was partially obvious to see but it wasn't straight foward said.

Killer7
:animeswea , anyway what are the mecha designs like in this show? I am still waiting to recieve the complete series so I need somethin to waste my time. Are the mechs slow and meandering like Gundam 0079 or are they faster like a ZOE type of thing? Killer7
Well I watched the first 3 episodes and this show is hilarious( as everyone said). They really make good use of the women and men never seeing each other. The informational video in the beginning showing the girls as some sort of reptiles was funny as hell. Another pleasent suprise was that the doctor was voiced by Stephen Jay Blum (Spike Speigel), the women who did Mizuho Kazami in Onegai teacher voices one of the women, and the women who did B.T. in .Hack//Sign does a character named B.C. in Vandread ( :animesigh ).
