Epid3mic
Okay, this doesn't really fit into any of the official gaming forums, so I'll leave it here and the mods can move it at will... Do any of you like to pass time in a boring class by playing games on your calculator? I have a TI-83+ Silver Edition. Right now I have a great Tetris clone and a shooter that's sort of like a mix between Space Invaders and Centipede(It's called Phoenix, it's actually pretty popular). Using graphing calculators as gaming systems has become quite the fad at my school...well, atleast for most of the geeks :p.
Carr
I have a TI-83, and would really like to put games on it, because like you said: boredom relief is GOOD. I am not really sure how to though. My dad said something about a cable hooking up to the computer and hafting to download something. *shugs* Anywhoo, tips would be spiff! :therock:
RicoTranzrig
I have an 86...used to have 2-player Tetris, lots of fun. The link cable I have connects through the serial port and I can download stuff that way from the PC. Another way of putting games on the calc is by writing it, copying line for line, which is really time consuming. I think there's a link cable now that connects to the PC through USB, which should make things a bit easier in terms of configuration.
Transtic Nerve
We used to do this all the time with the 86s in HS... ofcourse I don't have any games anymore.... but they all sucked anyway... I wish I had an 89... those are the shiznit.

Sara
Almost everyone in my physics class has games on their calculators; it's kind of funny. My teacher grabbed someone's 83 the other afternoon, and just tried to play for a little while. *tilts head* I actually don't have anything on mine. I do more with pen(cil) and paper than I do with my calculator, so whatever. Lately I've been writing riddles...great fun. ^_~
craig8429
I usually just do a search for graphing calculator games, and grab tons >_<
Gohan Egret
I have a TI-83+ and have: - BaseBall - Falldown - Galaxian - Pac-Man - R-Type - UncleWorm I LOVED Tetris, but the damn thing would cause a crash and reset my calculator, causing some games to be lost (miraculously, Pac-Man survived each crash). These (and other) games allowed for my successful passing of Chemistry. Without these games, I would have died of sheer boredom. *Shivers at the thought of Chemistry* Anyway, there are a bunch of sites where you can download games to your calculator. The USB line is sold separately for about $10, maybe more, and it allows for PC downloads. I think it comes with the silver edition of the TI-83+... Sara
"Silver Edition"? Reminds me of Pokemon. :p Tetris is an awesome game.
stardust
Silver edition is like TI-83 plus but it comes in pretty colors. It comes in see-tthrough blue, green, clear and purple. Anyways, we're required to have TI-83's for our algebra classes. Of course I got cheated and my mom bought me a normal TI-83,not even a Plus, and I wnated one in a pretty color!Lol,but it's not really important. I don't ahve any games because I don't know how to get them, and I don't have a link to my comp to download them. If I'm bored enough, I'll sit in class and draw pictures on it. Me and my friends like to type messages on them and stuff during class, lol. You won't believe how many kid get their calculators taken away. eleanor
I am the abosulte master of Fall Up. XP I spent about an hour playing that game on my TI-83+ once. I don't play with too many games. Some guys in my math class are practically obsessed, and there's one who programs games.
Pagan
I used to have a TI-83 but mine didn't hve any games; how do you get them? My calculator was good it would do the enitre problem for me so I didn't have to work it out. I think I've come to really on it and no longer even know how to do the math anymore. Xaru Silverfire
I like playing pim quest, Drugwar, falldown, blockman, megaman, hell anything that is animated that moves at my will I like playing. Or is a game. >.>; ~Xaru.
Epid3mic
The silver edition comes with a cord for computer hook-up via USB. A really good site for games is www.ticalc.org. It also has other programs for things like....math. If you want a great Tetris clone get ZTris. I've had it for a while and it hasn't crashed on me yet. The 89's are...meh. The TI-83+ SE has about twice the memory. Plus, the 83's are just plain more commonly used. Fall
Games on calculators? If I knew anything about this, I wouldn't be doing as much work at school as I am now-days... Of course, the calculator I have couldn't have games on it, I don't think.. What I'm going to have to do, is save up for a calculator that can have these games... then I won't look so supiscious in class, when I'm trying to play the games on my mobile-phone. :drunk:
Xaru Silverfire
The games on the calculator is much better than that of a cells. You can hold more games and such. I need to buy one just because it has the graphing function. They are about $110, but it is worth it. ~Xaru
Guest cloricus
I have a TI-83+ (only one guy at our school can afford to import the SE from America) and it rocks, blue edition. Drugwars (which I played the original edition of on a 486 lol) - Blockman - Mario - Super Tracks - Mirage (Never loaded Ion.) And I've had my fair share of programming on them, including the "slow project" (for TI-82). That involved setting up a very small program that could look up the calc and bind the keys plus run in backup memory and password lock. The result, you run it on a class set calc and it?s useless until all the batteries die or you take the reserve battery out. Very fun, it took 3 weeks to do during MEZ. :P
John
I couldn't play games on my TI-83 even if I had them. I already get caught enough making pictures on it in class. I've made...let's see...the leaning tower of pisa, stonehenge, a little shipwrecked man on an island, a countless variety of J's, and many other things that, for the life of me, I can't think of... otakukev
I've got a TI-83+. I have the PuzzPack, with Dino Puzzle (sorta like Yoshi for Nintendo and GameBoy), Block Dude, Puzzle Frenzy, and Pegs. I don't use these as much as the others. Then I have the Mirage OS packet. I used to have R-type, Avalanche, Pac-Man, Tetris, Phoenix, and Phantom, but I just turned it on now to check and only Phoenix is showing up! damn. *goes to download some more*
Soliel
I've had my TI-83+ since 8th grade and I've always had games on it. I have a bunch of super genius, computer geek friends and they make their own games. I have most of the standand games: *Fall-Down *Galaxian *Phoenix *Uncle Worm *Dodge Ball Plus some variation stuff like Fall-Up (same thing as Fall-Down except going the other way) and an infinat life patch for Phoenix. I used to go to this advanced education high school. Here everyone had the games saved that you couldn't simplly erase the memory to get rid of the games. But at my current school they hadn't dicovered that programing yet, so if a teacher cleared the memory on your calculator, the games were gone. The first time a teacher tried to erase my games by clearing the memory, I had the hardest time trying not to laugh. Everyone was wandering why I was laughing so much after class and I showed them that my games were still in tack.
