After looking aroung and searching other forums. Why did they make FFX-2 if FFX wasnt all that great to some people. I honestly loved FFX, but some people thought it was stupid. Well not some people it was like a lot of people. So why did they make it? I dont know how FFX-2 is doing in sales and stuff, but weren't they afraid that this game might bomb? Well thats all I got to say.

FFX was sucessful enough for Square to think that an FFX-2 would definately bring in a good amount of profit. It really was not that much of a gamble, I believe- FFX was received quite well in Japan and the United States.

FFX-2 as well, so far, is meeting their expectations in sales in Japan so far, from what I have read.

Ok, but do you see what im saying. I guess your right about how many people liked it. Thqat group may have been a lot but there are billions of people in this world. Well I also heard something about a FF7-2 or something. I actually would like to see this because 7 was one of the best one's. Well anyways since I got my question answered, I would think that this thread should be closed. Well I'll let you mods decide.

Meteora, in future you have to realise that companies are not going to judge their sales out of a minority. As clearly stated by DeathKnight, FFX did sell well enough, therefore Square would think that a first ever sequel in the series would do great.

You should've seen the total of people who requested a sequel to the stories, FFX sold more than FF9 did and that's a fact. With the new rejuvenation of graphics and a plo that was clearly left open for a sequel, FFX-2 would be easy to work with. Japan is loving the game so perhaps Square will be considering FF7-2 even further.

We can always hope. By the way, never believe that all the people within the minority that hated FFX found it stupid. They just may not like it. Art can never be contradicted like that. In my opinion that is.

FFX sold extremely well in Japan. FFX-2 did something like a million copies in sales in a few days. FFX obviously sold well enough here as well.

There are a few reasons though. The main one being that making a sequel to FF7 would be a lot of work, especially graphically. Square has said this in the past. If they ever did something, they want to do the first game justice. They have too much on their plate as it is and that would take a lot away from the

FFX, on the other hand, was made for the PS2 in the first place. The engine is already there. The basic models and programming and everything else were done and could easily be shifted into FFX-2 and improved upon.

FF7, meanwhile, doesn't have this luxury. They'd have to do a new engine, new models, new cutscenes, new areas, new music, new everything.

That's really the biggest reason, I'd imagine.

I see well then in that case they wont do it. If they do it won't be for a long time. Well since I got my facts straightened. This thread is useless, so I request you close it. I should have done this over Pm.*Shakes head* *Slams head into door*

Right, I'll close this, then. Mainly because there's already another FFX-2 thread that you could have posted this in, however. You don't need a whole new thread to ask a single question about a game. :cross:
