Stuart
Yes Im not talking about Yu-gi-oh or whatever you call it im talking about Magic The Gathering, ya know the card game thats only been around for 10 years.. yeah that one! So does anyone here play the game? or have ever? I think its a great game, Theres stragey(sp?) and there is no "Best card ever" its more like "The best combo ever" and theres a infite amount of it. So anyone... anyone at all know what im talking about..?
Drix D'Zanth
Oh, the game is quite finite. There's a finite number of cards, a finite number of combinations of said cards, and a finite amount of money to buy the cards. I tried the game with a friend of mine... it was ok. I prefer euchure or some other card game with a typical deck. The rules appear complex, but it's just straining at complexity and open endedness. That's why I play RPG's now... That's my take on Magic.
Lord Prozen
Yep I know about it. I hate card games with the "best card in the game" thing too. thats why im glad you showed me MTG.:) emporar(sp?) games are really fun. I like being the emporar but I always end up as one of the other guys then I die easy. two headed giants is pretty fun too. I do pretty good at two headed giants. I love the elf deck I have becuse I have some pretty good combos in there, like one card where the more elfs I have the more powerfull it is or one card where you tap him and then an elf gets X/X ATK and DEF where X is the number of elfs in play. or another card in that deck where I tap it and I get X health where X is the number of elfs in play, so that deck is pretty good. I also have this really good beast deck that Helba made me and its really good.......if I can get enough land lol. the creatures in that deck are really powerfull but I need lots of land or else im screwd lol. I have this one card that has "tap one mana. regenerate rouge elemental" so tha card is pretty cheap but Helba still seems to be able to take it down easy lol. then I have a burn deck that I made and its pretty good and can kill somone in a few turns. but if I dont play fast my openent gets guys to attack me with and I end up dieing becuse my burn deck has almost no creatures so I have to kill them fast with all the spells I have. lol I hope people still read this even though its really big.
GrimmFang
I have only played MTG a few times I am more of a Rage player myself. My cousin is a big MTG player though he was the Pennsylvania State champ a few years ago. He has been teaching me the game on his spare time from college. Being that Rage is very complex I haven't really had a hard time grasping the rules and such of MTG. This is a really fun card game.

I play... or I used to. Or I still do. I have like 5 decks (which it is nessisary). What I like about Magic is that unlike anyother card game is that you MUST have a theme to your deck. The maximum number of types of creatures/mana that you should have in a deck is three. I say Magic is the best card game out there. And the artisits deserve much gratitude :). The pre made decks are $20 and a pack of 15 is $5... I think. What ever you do... Don't use a premade deck, take the cards and make your own. ~Xaru.

I used to go to the local tourneys all the time. I usually get like 3rd - 4th place and got to 1st place only once. I think its one of the greatest card game ever. But like every game it gets boring after a while, so I quit a while ago when 8th Edition came out. I HATE the new look...
Semjaza
I used to play. I haven't in a very, very long time. I never was serious about it though. It was something I enjoyed collecting, and some random friends of mine and I would play it in study halls in high school. I always thought it was a great game. Sui Generis
I played play and will play. ^.^ Its a fun game sure it gets old after a while, so you drop it for a couple months then pick it back up. Well atleast thats what I do. Anyways I've made a couple good decks and have made it to states a couple of times, never first though. *shrugs* Right now I'm running an artifact/black/white dual land deck its pretty cool. I've been playing off and on since around 5th grade so about 5 years now.
Amorphous
Well I've played this game for a few years now and I?ve always liked the card game. It?s the only one I liked for that matter. I got out of the phase about a year ago, but every once in awhile I go ahead and buy myself a booster pack. I've been running a green deck lately that gives major health bonuses. Like one card (though I can't remember the name of the top of my head) it gives me 8 to health instantly. With like a mana cost of 6. It's also pumped with lots of green mana and monsters that I can get out right away. Black as well is the other deck I use. With just tons of spells and creatures that take life away from the opponent. While giving me life back, it all works in my favor. And just for reference it's Serra's Avatar. As well Black Lotus is the other considerably best card in the game. But they've both been banned from tournaments and as it's been said the Combo's still outrank these cards no matter what, because there is hundreds of different ways to destroy them.
DuoMax
I've played MTG before and it is without a doubt one of the best CCGs I've ever played. Grimm, a friend of minehasa Rage deck, but I've never seen him play. Is it really that complicated?
Meteora
Yeah I played it. I was good at it too. But I dont know what happened to my cards after that. They just dissappered. My deck was Fire and Grass. My favorite elements, yeah its an awsome game and if you haven't tried it you should just to do something new.

I play M:TG, very often. I started sometime around weatherlight and havn't really stopped sence ('cept for the occasional break because I don't have the time). currently I'm running 2-3 decks with 2-3 more in the testing phase. the majority of my decks abuse black to the fullest capability that I can. I also find blue the most amusing to play. (control decks anyone?). I tend to ignore red, I don't really like it for some reason. I use white less than blue but more than green, I prefer to be able to stop all forms of attacks against me than be able to deal 20 damage in one pop. but nothing really holds up to blacks discard and spot removal, back it up with counter magic, and 1-2 ways to win and you've gots a decent deck. and even though there is no best card there are some that are strictly better than others. Black Lotus for example is better than MANY artifact mana producers. Morphling is better than MANY blue creatures. Wrath of God, Armegeddon, and Balance are some of the best global destruction cards ever. and the number of combo's are un countable. it's a strategy game through and through, toss in the tourney scene that changes every 3 months and you've got a TCG that will last at least 10 years...and so far so good. Ares
I got the cards but never played. I wasn't really into it. Maybe it's because I'm just not into that stuff that much. Who knows, but the cards looked pretty coll anyway.
GrimmFang
I should get some of my cousin?s cards that he won from tournaments and scan them. He has some good cards just wish I remembered them.
Grimm, a friend of minehasa Rage deck, but I've never seen him play. Is it really that complicated?
Yeah it is really complicated at first. It also doesn't help that you can play multiple different ways. I would explain it but it would take paragraphs. Ask your friend for one of the direction booklets that come with a starter deck. Doukeshi
Oh yeah I play MTG with my friends all the time. Though I don't usually spend an inordinate amount of money on it, it's just a small hobby I pick up now and then. I recently aquired a few decent magic cards, you can never go wrong when you have a few extinguish instants in you deck ^_~. Anyone have a favourite colour they enjoy playing with or are you all masters that only own artifacts cards? I'm more of a plains person myself, all that holy healing magic and such. It only uses forest and fire mana. It's my best and favorite deck. Other than that I have my Swamp and plains "Evil pope deck", my all swamp deck, I havn't thought of a stupid name for that yet, Tainted fire deck, and my other favorite, my mutt deck. Which I put together with forest, plains, and fire. Of course, I do have a great collection of island cards which I can make a deck out of but I don't think I would ever use it. ~Xaru.
Inuyasha Fandom
I play for fun, but it is nice to win. But, the picures on the cardss can be wa bit graphic for some people. I like the blue deck the best. It seems to require a lot more strategy.
Stuart
Right now Im packing some serious Sliver beat down, heh heh heh. Isnt that right Lord Prozen? haha ^_^
Sliver decks aren't very good if your oppenent is prepared for it, it takes as little as a single card to completely shut it down, Mistform Wakecaster can change all your silvers into any other creature type, thus negating their bonuses. Ray of command can also gain control of the Sliver Overlord permenantly if they have an extra 3 mana, not to mention global removal (Wrath of God, Kirtars Wrath, Akroma's Vengance, Endemic PLauge, Reiver Demon, Solar Tide, Decree of Pain, and Decree of Annihilation are all viable options.) and Engineered Plague can be devastation to any tribal deck. Blue Permission decks are always fun, I like counter spelling everything they play, and should it get through I can bounce it and counter it later. late in the game I'll play Tidal Kraken and swing for 6 unblockable. or I'll use Denying Wind and get rid of your best cards. Paralell Thoughts can help you get your key cards earlier. and the Introduction of Icherons Scepter makes counterspell repeatable as long as you have 2 mana availible. yeah...I like blue...:D
Zerosaber
I play Type 2 goblins. Oh yeah. I like it. It's a cool game but no L5r.(Its second on my list of best ccg's). Also its cool because its easy to learn. I taught my friend how to play in 30 minutes. L5r takes way longer to learn.
Kill All Trends
I play! I am looked up to as the best Freshman Magic player at my school. I've been playing since Ice Age and I have over 5,000 cards. I don't have enough money to be really good in tournaments, so I usually don't bother unless one of my friends enter. I currently run a (now extended) Mono-black control, Extended Ping, T1 Artifacts, and a casual Burn Deck. I'd be happy to help anyone with strategies, my AIM is DoomGaze10825. AutoKill
The game is a rather simple. Most decks are speed. In witch usaly a red deck would prove to be the fastest. Goblen decks are rather speedy in doing alot of damage fast. They are weak and it sucks when 1 card can kill any of your crapy 2/2 goblens. But it only takes 20 life in most cases to win. Then their are the defence decks. Most of the time using enchantments and artifacts to slow the other person. And in most cases slowing you also. I dont know how good of a player you are. But i would go find a good place online to read all the cards. I will give you a tip. StadicOrb,RingofGix
Dmitri_Dragoon
I play MTG. Currently I'm using a deck I call: Bash the Hell out of Everyone. It's a powerful deck, but it still has it's weaknesses. It can be used for normal play and Mana Drop. It's quite effective both ways. It has two Rox in it that I'm proud of the most. It's a black and green deck. It's quite good. Out of 12 games I've played with it, I only lost 2.
Kwai
I used to play quite a while ago, almost daily at school. Occasionally, we would pool together an assortment of rare cards, have a little tournament, winner takes all. It was fun, but it kinda got stupid since we all knew what kind of decks each of us had. We were too stupid to change it around back then. I rarely play these days, maybe only if someone asks. My main is white/blue or blue/black. I'm more of an annoy-the-crap-out-of-you deck user, basically using counter spells against every possible spells played against me. And of course, I will bounce back some harmful spells back at you, I will also take control of your creatures, heal myself until you puke, etc. etc. Most of my victories come simply from my opponent running out of cards lol. My main creature is the Polar Kraken, though I rarely use him because of his mana cost/land sacrifice stuff. 10/10 is awesome and all, but not really cost efficient unless I can trample the enemy right there and then.
