Ani_Freak
Have you read the Epitaph of Twilight? It mentions Apeiron. In .Hack//Infection, Mistral is cought by Kite talking with a PC named Apeiron who, at the same time, gives KITE the Book of Iron(I guess) which is forbidden and also, forces KITE to take it. As if it wasn't strange enough, he also knows Helba? But that's not all (I sound like a commercial), Apeiron doesn't appear again on Infection nor Mutation, and I haven't seen him in Outbreack, yet, and you can't trade or talk with him. Doesn't he know to much to be an ordinary PC? Does he has a relationship with Helba as the two of them are mentioned in the Epitaph of Twilight? HAVE YOU SEEN HIM? (Shouldve ask that'at the beggining) .Hack just gets weirder as you dig deeper into it. I love it:devil:
Zephyr
I think that the use of the name Apeiron was more for show then anything. Much like Ichiro Sato/Bith the Black from Liminality disc 3. He used the name to show a connection to Helba, but he is still only the "grunt labor." Having others do such work allows Helba to stay focused on the server problems. It is much the same as the random character that shows up at the Fort Ouph chaos gate to give Kite and item in Helba's name.
Ani_Freak
Ok so, maybe is just a name, a coincidence that is also the name mentioned in the Epitaph of Twilight? It just strike me that there were so many coincidences, Apeiron, He gives Kite a Forbidden Item, and also knows Helba. I don't know, don't you think we should wait for Quarantine to arrive and see. Maybe is as you say, just to make a connection to Helba. We'll see . . . .
AzureWolf
Aperiron is the guy who gives you the book Mistral wanted. I think most of you can figure out the rest, but for those of you who are slow (or just haven't played far enough in the game series),
Aperiron is another name for the System Administrator, aka Lios
. That's why I always tell people to keep an eye on names and identities while playing. Just because you "brush" alongside someone doesn't mean that it was an insignificant/chance meeting - at least not in .hack. EDIT: Ok, so I posted before reading through all the posts - sue me. Well, at least you guys noticed him, but how could you not figure it out after MUTATION? Haha, you guys are weird. Light: control, order - what can be seen. Dark: no control, disorder - what is done behind the scenes and is invisible to those who do not have twilight eyes.

I didn't read the previous posts and just posted after I read someone asking who Aperiron was. AFTER posted, I read the other posts and realized that you guys did notice some details, but I didn't want to bother writing my entire post all over again. Instead, I just appended my post with what I thought would clarify things. Again, I didn't mean you guys were slow - I kid like that. And yes, I'm lazy - very lazy - VERY lazy. So lazy that I can't even finish this In any case, I'm firm in my guess that Aperiron is
Lios
. I believe that he
became "The System Administrator Lios" because of his actions/contributions/efforts as Aperiron
. In other words, Aperiron was
Lios' character in "Fragment,"
and, for whatever reason, Emma (the author of the epitaph) saw/chose him as a major player in the fate of "The World." Again, sorry for anyone who took offense to my previous post: it was unintentional. :o
Bio
From watching .hack//liminality: In the case of whatever the hell her name is, (The third one)
Emma had nothing to do with fragment, or the world, besides writing the ephitath of twilight. Herald Heourwik(or however you spell it) Based fragment on it, because he was in love with Emma. She was apparently killed by CC corp. for whatever reason.
Zephyr
There is one thing that bugs me a bit about this. As AzureWolf mentioned, in Mutation we are told by Helba that
Lios is the name of the "King of Light."
What I cannot understand is how both
Lios and Apeiron can be the name of the King of Light mentioned in the Epitaph.
Ani_Freak
Arch is right. The Liminality #3, Tokuoka and the other girl, find that Emma has nothing to do with Fragment nor The World. Lios and Aperion could be the same person. After all, Lios knows Helba, and the two at times seem to be working together. I beleive that Lios might be Aperion on the Epitaph as Azure Wolf implies. Maybe Lios aka Aperion and Helba had some conection before The World, then Aperion becomes Lios and the system administrator. I mean, think of it as a nickname, first Aperion, then, for something he is now Lios. The fact is that he is known as the King of Light. Hey, AzureWolf, I didn't took wrong what you said. After all we are just exchanging ideas. I'm the Newbie, maybe I'm just not that well adapted to deal with other people here on a board. So lets be friends ok!!!! Second, your spoiler is contradictory. How could she "have nothing to do with fragment, or the world..." when they are based on her writings? Being the blueprint/foundation for the games can't be just brushed off so simply. Black Phoenix, as I said before, it is my opinion that Aperiron
was the character Lios used before "The World." You know, maybe he used to play the game before becoming a jerk
. kiteS23
Here's my theory behind Aperion and the uninstallable items. If you remember, you won the prize for the One Year Power up Campaign right after you recieved the braclet of twilight. Also, Aperion seemed more than willing to hand the book of Iron over to you for free. Ok, now remember when You meet lios for the first time. He tries to delete you, but Helba says that he doesn't have the power too and that he even tried to disguise the deletion code as a rare item. Those rare items are the book of Absolute and the Book of Iron. You can't install them because the braclet is protecting your data.

I was not talking about the characters Apeiron and Lios in the game, but the versions in the Epitaph. We all know that Apeiron is the King of Light in the Epitaph, but Helba make a comment when talking to Lios at "flat stage" (I think that was the name). "Lios. The codename given to a system admin. Are you aware that it is the name of the King of Light that appears in the Epitaph?" That is what Helba said, and it confuses me because Apeiron was the King of Light, not Lios. Unless there is a part of the Epitaph yet to be revealed I cannot see how both names can be the right one.
Ani_Freak
In fact we have not seen anything that lead us to beleive that Apeiron and Lios is the same person/player/administrator. We have just thoughts and opinions based on what we HAVE seen and played. I really think, as kiteS23, in that maybe the Books of Absolute and Iron were indeed given by Lios in order to delete the PC Kite. However, we can't be sure, since one of the two items was going to be given to Mistral, maybe to give to Kite, maybe for herself. If Apeiron and Lios are the same, I guess we will have to wait for Quarantine to arrive and maybe see what's the deal with him.
Sai
Ok Mistral is a Rare Item hunter. She doesn't care about the item or effect, she just likes rare items. Apeiron said after he gave you the item, "Watch out for a hacker named Helba." I haven't played Mutation nor Outbreak yet but that sounds like a warning to me and I don't now how Helba and Apeiron's relationship togther is but that sounds like these two aren't very fond of each other. So my conclusion is maybe Apeiron made a new character named Lios to throw off Helba.

Let me just stress my point again:
Lios and Apeiron are one in the same. They are synonymous with each other, and can be used interchangeably, without losing any meaning
.
In fact we have not seen anything that lead us to beleive that Apeiron and Lios is the same person/player/administrator. Second, yes we have seen (and heard) many facts that leads to the conclusion of the single user's duality. Both Black_Phoenix and kiteS23 have stated facts that could not have made the two character's relation any clearer.
Ani_Freak
Yes, my mistake AzureWolf. Yes we have seen and heard the clues that let us beleive that Apeiron and Lios are the same person. What I meant was that there is nothing conclusive to beleive and take it as 100% true. However, we are guided to beleive so. And man, chill out a bit!
