I have confirmed that there will be 4 new playable characters in .hack//Quarintine and yes they all are from .hack//SIGN (The anime) they areHelba, Sora, Subaru and Tsukasa. To prove it to all I have two pictures with them there. It looks real so if you don't think its real tell me.

Ok cool. At first I thought these were fake to but when I looked into it more I began to believe more. It looks like a Gamecube version to me (^_^) Subaru looks shaded wrong and the same with Tsukasa and Sora. The thing though that makes them seem to be real is the names and the surroundings, look at their shadows and the ground and also try checking the surroundings and their names.

oh man I hope it's not fake I would love to have sora and tsukasa in my party! but what about mimiru and bear and bt and crim (oh crim would be in my party at all times) and silver knight and yeah what happened to them oh well beggers can't be choosers (yes they can!) since balmung is in outbreak Iwon't think too much of it. oh hey can you find out new outbreak characters?

Wow, if that's not fake that's pretty darn awesome.

Is it just me, or does Subaru's staff look larger than it normally is, though? I mean, it looks very large, and not only that, but Subaru's head looks a little small. Ah, well. I haven't actually seen many screenshots of the former leader of the Crimson Knights from the game, so I could be wrong. Heck, I've never really played the game.

Also, Sora's katars (his weapons) look a little long. But who is to say that the characters can't change their weapons..? But then, I am almost certain that the users' weapons don't change appearance in the game, but again, I haven't had the pleasure of holding a PS2 controller that I own.

But, according to what I've seen and read about the Japanese language, Sora, which means sky, is written with one character, and in the screen it shows two letters. That's sort of one sign of forgery.

Helba's name is correct (I can read katakana well enough.. Well, most of it), but she has maximum stats- 9999 and 999 consecutively. Even if she IS a hacker, I think that would be unfair in the game, having a character of such calibur when the rest of the fighters are far from that.. Unless you want to be a wimpy gamer. (No offense to thou folk who enjoy getting through a game without a challenge)

Do you remember where you found these screenshots, Sai? The URL or website, I mean. If it's from a very reliable source on IGN, this is most likely real. If it's from some cheap-o tripod fansite, I wouldn't be so sure.

I'm a bit confused. The 3D models look authentic but the face icons-especially Sora's-set me off a bit. Because the picture quality is fuzzy I can't see much more detail other than all Helba's stats are maxed out :p.

And referring to the site: Corbenik looks alot like... a soy bean  !

I had heard at another forum that Subaru and Tsukasa may join your player, and that there may be other characters from the series.

The change in weapons could be because the development team was using preset limits for the weapons. If you notice the weapons in the game are usually about the same size, with only a few changes. To me Subaru's axe looks the same as all of the other axe designs that Piros and Ryoko have.

Do not forget that the version of Sora he uses may not be the same. I do not know much about Kanji, but I do know that a name will have a Kanji based on a word, but not exactly the same look. Also, Sora may have been shortened from something else that uses two Kanji.

Helba's purpose in the game was not really to fight. In both the show and the game she plays more of an advising role. Having stats like that may also mean that there is something rather big that you may have to face in the game.

I think its fake they won't give helba infinity health and magic even if she is a hacker i mean come on then you could beat the game within 10 minutes! also they are not playable charicters in the game

I have visited many different sites using Japanese characters on my computer, and I have the letters on my computer. Each and every site (Except for some cruddy American-made fansites that attempt at giving complex information in it) has one character, and my dictionary also shows the same character for "sky".

10 minutes? Well, fighting isn't the only aspect of a game. Exploring plus cutscenes and extra things like Grunty raising will take up a lot of time. ~_^ More like 20 hours per game, my friend. But how do you KNOW that Helba and Sora and Subaru and Tsukasa are not playable characters if the game hasn't been released yet? Thus far, each game has had some new Player Characters to use, and this is the final one.

For all we know, these are screenshots from some side quest you can do or something.

Um its not fake obviously and 9999 is not infinity ya know...

Again, how do you know it's not fake? It would be simple enough for an experienced CGI person to find a screenshot of Helba, isolate her from the background and surrounding characters, and implant her in a scene by a chaos gate.

True, Helba has always been advisory, but if she's in a party she's bound to do some fighting, right? Good point about the big in-game thing, though. ^_^' You always come up with things I never would have, Phoenix.

I wish I could say it took some thinking to figure that out, but sadly enough it is just a result of playing too many games. I have become used to seeing such red flags.

Well, I decided with all of the controversy over the pics to sort of break them down a bit. Here is how I see things.

1) The charcters here are most likely part of a post-storyline mission (except maybe Helba). Reasons:
-- Note the background. No infection in Mac Anu.
--(Big Spoiler)
From what I saw on the site for the pics, Sora and the other souls/consciounesses help fight Corbenik.
2) Character may be real. If you notice the characters hold their weapons like the rest of the game characters of similar class. This means that even if it is a "cut-and-paste" job, the character most likely appear in the game. Also, the shadows match up, making it either a real picture, or a very well done fake.

3) Incomoplete Ryu Book. Anyone that has beaten Outbreak, and gotten all friendly characters knows that the Ryu Book listing friends is not full yet.

Guest Ludacris XIII
Shouldn't Tsukasa be holding her Ivory Cane in her left hand instead of right. Also I have seen Tsukasa in the same pose as a flashback, but facing the other way with Bear, Mimiru, Blackrose, and Kite, in an ad for MUTATION,in an EGM magazine. I guess the person took the picture with Tsukasa in it, and fliped it on his computer, then pasted it on the QUARINTINE picture to look like she's facing Kite. So I guess thats kind of a way to prove the picture is a fluke.

SPOLIERS

Just to tell you guys you get Helba at lvl 99 Sora I dont know Tsukasa at lvl 2 and Subaru I dont know. Lol I use to know what lvl you got subaru and sora at but I forgot and also you get 1 more character back ORCA. Orca comes out of his coma at the end of .hack//Quarentine. So you have to kill the final boss to get him back. Also remember Maha well he is Mia. In outbreak when mia starts acting weird thats when shes turning back to maha Also you must fight maha hes a boss.

well it would be disapointing to not have someone in the game from the show, truthfully I hope this is so, as for helba's life and sp maybe that is good but maybe her stats are bad, maybe one hit could take off a good chunk of her life.

I don't think that having SIGN characters in the games would be such a requirement for a good game. It would just be pretty cool, I think.

Well then what is the point of gaining levels and such if your stats are low? Normally in an MMORPG you gain two or three points in each category. Plus, if Helba has maximum health and magic, wouldn't that defeat part of the purpose of being a hacker in a game such as The World? Normally they make their own areas and make them selves extremely strong, correct?

For what it's worth, I've heard that those four become availiable after you beat the plotline of Quarantine, though I've also heard that Sora, Tsukasa, and Subaru are also dependent on completing the Flashback quest in Mutation and the Phantom quest in Outbreak...

And thinking about it, it wouldn't matter if Helba has Max HP or whatever, because if you get her at the end of the game, THERE'S NOTHING worthwhile you can use her against! XD

But it's all just rumor. I'm not holding my breath, because I'm *expecting* to be disapointed. Who can know for sure until it comes out here?
