this was an article from otaku.com, As far as I know the Anime hasn't been dubbed for american veiwing yet, but has a small fanbase in Japan.

Fifty years ago the war between good and evil should have ended when a warrior wielding the legendary sword, called ten commandments, split the last Darkbring in half. Instead, Darkbring shattered, and all remaining pieces ended up in all corners of the world.

The explosion that followed also caused Rave, the embodyment of good in the form of a sword shaped stone, to be spread around the world. This explosion destroyed 10 percent of the world and would later be refered to as Overdrive.

Our heros enter the story fifty years after Overdrive. Haru Glory, the main character, is a young, ambitious and goodlooking kid. He inherited Rave, the power of good, or a small part of it anyway. On his quest to reunite Rave he winds up in Hip Hip city, a town ruled by the Demon Card.

The Demon Card has possesion of Darkbring, the stone of evil and has set their minds on the destruction of Rave and anyone able to wield it. This is where Haru meets Elie, roams the world in hopes of finding someone that knows her. She has lost any recollection of anything that happened more than 1 year ago.

They decide to travel the world together, each on their own quest, but always together.

The story will follow Haru, Elie and Plue (Haru's .... pet) in their journeys around the world. The Demon Card is always one small step behind or in some cases one step ahead.

In a way Rave is a lot like inuyasha's quest for the shikon no tama. The big difference is, well, everything. Don't be fooled into thinking this is a quickly assembled show to ride the wave of popularity Inuyasha is receiving.

The world of Rave is a combination of past and future. Obviously Rave and Darkbring posses some kind of magic. Rave can be wielded by one person only, Haru. On the other hand there are all kinds of futuristic contraptions like Elie's tonfo guns. Personaly I like this combination, it gives the creators of Rave so much more to play with, and us so much more to be surprised with in the form of events.

The animations in Rave are crisp and clean, simple almost, but in a good way. The characters have a video game-like look to them with humungous swords and hair that never gets messed up. The soundtrack is great also.

In short, this is a great show with great artwork. Watch it soon!

Hope that helps.
