[size=1]In Montecito, California, there is a house awaiting its guests. This house, done in the classic Santa Barbara County style of modern Spanish stucco, sits in the lower hills of the Los Padres mountain range. On days when the sun keeps the sea fog at bay, the house offers breathtaking views of the glittering Pacific Ocean and, further offshore, Santa Cruz Island.

Montecito, being Santa Barbara?s prosperous cousin, is a wealthy area and rent is steep. In this town 1 million dollars will buy you a cottage. A mansion on a hill, however, is reserved only for those who have the gusto and talent for business.

Or for a group of friends that can pool together enough money to rent one.

A tightly-knit group of friends has come together on the West Coast of the United States and settled for a year in California. All of these friends have known each other for years, and their relationships are strong and passionate, and most all of them would do anything for the one they care about the most.

?but not ALL of them?

Amidst their surfing, shopping, swimming, hiking, sailing, and general Southern Californian activities, things are starting to go awry. Important things are turning up as ?missing?, members of the house are acquiring strange injuries, and the house itself has seemed to take on a life of its own. A member of the house is behind all of the traitorous incidents, but no one is aware of it until far too late.

Luckily for the friends, this RPG will be started when they all decide to rent the hillside mansion together on a year-long lease before anything starts to go wrong.

Their main reason for all deciding to live together is that have started up a joint business. [Said business will be decided as the story pans out, depending on who joins.]

Brief Life History: Met Jenna after several hours of wandering around at a dance competition, as both of them were wearing a particular dance shoe, and it was uphill from there. She's a California freak/native, and loves the weather almost as much as she loves the hot guys and girls that frequent it. Pasadena would be the hometown she calls from, but she's more into Northern California, as she spent most of her childhood in San Fransisco.

Personality Traits: She loves cool weather, rain drumming on the roof, and the smell of wet asphalt. As for food, she loves black ceylon tea, jasmine cakes, rice, chopsticks, and stir-fried dishes. She's made crazy by slobs, good "crazy" by hot hot boys with streaked and wild hair, or just white wifebeaters. Biggest Pet Peeve? Probably just messy roommates and loud loud music while she's trying to sleep. Is also claustrophobic, just for the record.

She'd rather hang out with her friends than go to a big party where she'd be obscured, whether it be just hanging out and talking, watching a movie together, drinking, or some combination of all of the above. She spends her time doing whatever comes her way; computer-related things, homework, writing, reading ...
Ellie is generally pretty tolerant of others' living habits, though her own are extremely messy. She loves laughing and hearing people's stories, is fairly witty and intelligent, and will eat pretty much anything put in front of her (with the possible exception of ... most vegetables). She can be oversensitive at times, but isn't too bad at recognizing her own faults and making an effort to change them.

John is generally quiet, occasionally throwing a witty comment in here or there. His words instead often come out as actions as he is rather phsyically assertive, and is not much of one for personal space; if there is a long bench, and you are on one end, you can bet money that he will sit right next to you instead of on the other side. Overall he is just very innocent in personal nature. He trusts everyone until they prove that they cannot be trusted. He is very calm and content on the outside. It takes quite a bit to startle him, let alone turn him on.

Partying is alright, but he prefers to stay off to himself, observing the goings on instead of participating in them- or having a conversation with a person, just one on one in the midst of it all. He enjoys listening to music [heavy metal, hard rock], researching subjects [polotical, historical mainly], hanging out with his friends and solveing problems amongst his peers.

Amongst a few smaller pet peeves, he hates wasteing time- it makes him somewhat irritated and maybe TOO ambitious to get things done efficently. The smaller pet peeves range from people who think they know what they are talking about, overzealous religious people, and loseing a friend over a stupid thing.

Chaos is his home. He was born into it and enjoys it. It is a challenge, two opposeing things create a maelstrom with him and a few others caught in the middle- what do you do? He seems to not be affected by things.. normally. Radical situations where he should be scared, concerned do not phase him, and his pain tolerance is high- it makes him appear a bit numb, but it might help out in the long run. Double edged swords are what they are.

His personality is an odd mix. He proves to be blunt consistantly- to the point of straining relationships with people. Being funny comes naturally to him, but so does alot of cynicism and sarcasm. The glass is half empty in general, and so is his heart. But he tries to remain nuetral- no need to drag everyone's spirits into the mud. His mask is the humor that seems to be a part of him, pleaseing people with it makes him feel a sense of accomplishment. He rarely removes it, basically because he doesn't feel a need to. All and all he is pleasent to be around, he can be deep, he can make you laugh, he can make you think.

[b]Personality Traits:[/b] Tori is usually a happy, but very passionate person. She loves to be the center of attention and to try to make those around her laugh. She tries to be friends with everyone and doesn't like it when people don't like her. She can sometimes be overly critical and severly impatient, but she usually makes up for it later. She tends to idealize many aspects of life and thrives on the ideas of true love and romance.

She doesn't drink or do any drugs, but she loves to have fun. Parties are okay as long as she is with a close friend who is willing to stay sober with her. She loves to dance and have a good time. Living next to the ocean, she finds herself constantly at the waters edge. She's always had a fascination with water for as long as she can remember and it was a dream come true for her to move to the coast.

Pasttimes include reading on occassion, playing videogames, reading manga and watching anime, and doing art. She also likes to stay active and workout and play if possible.

Thing that annoy her include people who are overly stupid, having to clean something up that she feels she wasn't a part of, and feeling left out. She likes getting her beauty sleep and sleeping in is fun to do on Saturday mornings, since Sundays you'll find her at the nearest Mormon ward.

What can I say about Jeh? Well, generally he's a pretty easy going guy. He is usually able to communicate with most people, which is probably a positive trait. If he finds somebody annoying, however, it becomes all-too-easy for him to block them out. But these situations can be overcome.

Generally, he's a reserved person -- never too over the top in his behavior. But among friends, he's happy to joke around and be silly. At the same time -- and while he does like being with large groups of friends -- he tends to prefer quiet one-on-one conversations with individual people. Or, with a smaller group. He enjoys hearing others' stories and isn't afraid of deep/meaningful discussion. Jeh isn't a messy person by nature (which is good if you live in a house with him), but he's not exactly strict about keeping things neat. Sometimes he likes to have personal space (as I guess most do), but he doesn't mind spending time with one or two other people, even if he needs to be alone.

Brief Life History: I was born in Columbus, Georgia in 1987. I spent the first eighteen years of my life being reared in C-town's cross-river baby sister, Phenix City, Alabama. Both places were amazingly small and boring.

By the time I was able to move out, I really wanted to move. While visiting a relative in Michigan one summer a few years back, I had met a lovely Yankee chick, named Jenna, and over the years, we'd become best e-buddies. She was two or three year my senior, but she didn't seem to mind.

Anyway, she and some friends were pulling together some kind of group house/business thing, and a few phone calls, some swift packing, and a flight later and I was in on it too.

Don't ask me how I went from Phenx City, Alabama to Montecito, California. I mean, really...don't ask. Because if you do, you'll get a shrug and a goofy smile, because I can't explain it, either.

I just hope these guys are ready for me...

Personality Traits: I'm a devout Christian. I'm a generally quiet guy, especially in a crowd. It is possible for me to perk up at times, and steal the party, but most of the time I focus my attention on one or two people at a time. I'm a huge football freak(Auburn University, w00t!!), and I'm really into cars--fast cars. I'll race, even, if properly provoked. I really hate people who think too highly of themselves, though, I'm probably a little guilty of that, myself. I hate people who put others down, and I like to be charitable. I love the outdoors, my grandpa raised me on deer hunting, and I like the beach, just not always seawater. My main thing is the mountains.

Jenna moved from Michigan to Ventura, California in order to attend photography school which she recently graduated from. She grew to love Southern California's weather, but not so much its citizens. She misses Midwestern friendliness, but continually meets awesome new people on photography assignments that restore her faith in Southern California's people. So, basically, Jenna loves having a good time and can handle herself being the center of attention. She is often goofy and gets super friendly when she is drunk, usually to the point of meeting tons of new people in one night. She loves going dancing, and will usually pout when things don't go her way...she was brought up as a spoiled child. She loves her car and drives really fast which often frightens those who ride with her. But it's not really her fault, the Southern Californians don't understand that that the left lane is the FAST lane, and they don't get over for you if you're going faster than them SOOO you have to weave all in and out of traffic!!! It scares people ;)

Jenna also likes being flirty and makes friends with guys much more easily than with girls. She loves a good video game and is known to get competitive on certain occasions. She is athletic and can't play sports worth ****, but loves being up in the mountains. She doesn't like camping unless it is for only one night...otherwise, count her out.

Through Jenna he managed to meet all sorts of great people, many of whom he is sharing a house with now.

Josh is the quiet one in a group; it helps him blend in with a wide variety of people, but it usually prevents him from creating intimiate relationships. He is the oldest of three children (and countless step-children) so he likes to set a good example for everyone else. This makes him seem a little uptight, but the truth is that he likes to goof off as much as everyone else.

He finds it easier to learn about people from individual conversations, and that's where most of his friendships began. His lack of social experience makes him a feel a little awkward at parties and such, but overall Josh is a friendly person.

Brief Life History: I was born in Muskegon Michigan, growing up in places like Tampa, Lansing, and Allegan. I've spent most of my life like any normal kid with his aspriations and varied friendships.

This all changed at age 17 when on vacation in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy; I was kissed by a girl named Laura. A new profound purpose opened up in my life: women.

I suppose I've spent most of my life trying to improve my relationship with God, acheive my Career Goal as a Doctor, and falling in Love.

I've now moved on to UCSC to go to med-school, meeting up with Jenna on the way. And so I am.... here.


Personality Traits:

Like-Women, God, Friends, Joking around, dancing, outdoors, music, singing, fellowship. Humor.

Dislikes- ego's, idiocy ( I doubt we'll see that here), mean people.... I don't dislike alot..

I could describe myself as easy-going and laid back, an overall nice guy. I tend to be the shoulder to cry on. I value my faith above all else and use it to define my life. I'm care free and amiable. I suppose that's about it. Oh yeah.. I'm funny, or at least I like to humor myself in that respect.

[b]Brief Life History:[/b] Charles is nomadic; he's as fleeting as the shadows and lives his life with foolish abandon. For a short period of time he worked as a freelance writer and earned notable recognition (due to his unrestrained frankness) mostly among local, modestly circulated publications.

His musings quickly earned him the handle "Brutally Honest Charles." But, his notoriety with the pen had a price. Charles made more enemies than friends during his tenure as a columnist--and was forced to relocate after upsetting the local democratic machine.

From that moment on, he vowed to see the what the world had to offer instead of being confined to merely writing about it. Charles vowed to never write again, should he not need to. Instead, he decided to chill out and look at life as one big adventure.

It was through his travels that he made the acquaintance of everyone in this RPG.

Charles is a difficult one to read. He enjoys the simple things in life like stroking a friendly cat and becoming lost in thought while running (at dusk or dawn). Although he's not a masterful conversationalist due to his inability to commit to one place for very long and really get to [i]know[/i] people, Charles considers himself a good judge of character. This young justice dealer often finds himself in potentially dangerous situations due to his love of taking up for the underdog. He's a fighter all right, but it's made him very confrontational. Although he's a benevolent person at heart, he has a tendency to be brash and arrogant.

After getting my Bachelors in Interactive Media, I moved on to be a major contributor to various marketing devices at Digital Kitchen, which has a branch in Chicago. They do a lot of commercials and print design for major companies.

The question as to why I'd ever be in California is a strange one without a good answer... despite my originally coming from there.

I dislike warm, sunny weather. I love the cold and the rain. I have very little interest in swimming, the beach or anything else involved. I dislike flip flops, which I'll probably see an abundance of.

However, I've made enough money off my job that it's time for a break. I've been in school or working most of my life and I'd like to **** around one last year before I just start slowing down.

[b]Personality Traits:[/b] Generally pretty quiet unless there is something that has to be said or I'm rather comfortable. I spend a lot of my time just listening to music, although at reasonable levels... I don't want to disturb anyone. I randomly sing out song lyrics at times, but not too often.

Likes: Music (most genres), cheese cake, blue Kool Aid, cartoons, web design, comics, animals, cooking, night time, cool breezes, rain, dyed hair, Tim Burton movies, Pee-wee

Dislikes: extreme heat, steak, fakeness, Walter Jacobson (local Fox news reporter), watching baseball on TV, claiming to know about something you are totally unfamiliar with just to look good or save face

Loathes: Tomatoes, flip flops and the sounds they make, rice in my damn Chipotle burritos (why do they do this??)
