I was wondering how one would come to being a Moderator. This has always bugged me and finally asked it. I know many people would like to be one and I was wonderin' just.. how!? Ok, I'm sure this will be answered by either an Administrator or moderator. :p

So it's like by posting you're sending out your resume and when someone asks you to be a moderator it's like an interveiw! o.O I think i really put that well. :p Ok thank you Transtic Nerve, and uhh wrist cutter... I'll keep it in mind. Lol.

I mean, hey...how do you think James hired me? Shoot, it wasn't because I was qualified. Just proper distribution of the Benjamins, know what I'm sayin'? You gotta be 'roofless, dawg. Sometimes, you just gotta kill a man to get to da top.

Don't take me seriously.

I'm all bribed out from staying on people's good side, though that shouldn't be a problem since there hasn?t been any (serious) attempt to ban me recently.
No I didn't look over the Harlequins shoulder into the mod area... Honest!
Yeah no point asking for mod, you will be ignored or told to go away in a nice way. Though apart from the above ways it seems to help to be weird in some way. (*Looks at all mod's*) Besides being a mod is hard and it's more fun just to post and participate.

From what I know, Raiha was already a mod a while back, but she decided to leave the position. :p And James has always stressed that it isn't how many posts you have, it's how well you use them.

And Kyo, don't worry. If the mods feel the thread has run it's course, they'll close it. If, however, other people have questions that can be answered by the topic, why close the thread?

Basically, to become a mod, you follow the rules to the best of your ability, and try to be a good example. At least, this is what I've heard. So...really, to become a mod, you have contribute positively to OtakuBoards. Heh.

Lies!

All it requires to be a mod is to get on James' good side, if you know what I mean. ;)

Heh.

It should be obvious someone doesn't get a modship position by posting a thread about them wanting to be a mod. Sorry chaps.

And bribes are good as well. We accept the Euro, Pesos, and the American Dollar; we much prefer the American Dollar over all else, though. I also accept shards of glass, and any other "favors" one would enamor me with.

To tell you the truth, being a mod isn't all that great. It's a job, and its power is not to be abused.

Ok, i'm only half posting to prove Kyo's inability to close threads. Also, I bet Raiha is next up for being a mod. He has enough posts for sure.......
He has already been a mod before. He was once the mod of Poetry/Fan Fiction. He sure has a lot of posts. He really is awesome. He really has a lot of posts.

She's a she. She would really slap you for posting this about her. Do you want to get on a former mod's anger? Because her anger is really, really evil.

I should know.

Raiha did quit her job herself, if I remember.

And posts do not matter when it comes to being a mod. Recently, 2 or 3 new mods were hired with little or no posts. I do not know why newbies always assume this, and I do not know why, having read this thread, one still does.

Ah well. I'm sure Raiha, he'll be A WSEOM EO LOLZ!!11

Wow.

Ok thank you all for helping me with this subject/thread/thingy/problem. Yes, it's been very helpfull and there's not much need to post more. So uh.. Bye!

Oh and I lied. It didn't hlp much considering everyone said something different. But yea know, I still appreciate the thought. ;) Ok so there is a need to post.

I have another question. Some of you said that you call us but umm how do you know if we would like the job or not. I mean would you just ask? Also, how would you know if someone would really like the job and are trying very hard to improve everything about them just to get the job. I mean that might make a difference.

Thanks again!

God this is hilarious.

LRB. My serious answer. James or Charles will approach you either by PM or IM if they feel that you are a good poster, obey the rules, and would make a good moderator.

Don't try to become a moderator. If they feel you should be one, they will approach you. They take the initiative. Then you choose if you wish to accept their offer or not.

Or you could hand out free parcels of land, suitcases full of money, free alchoholic beverages, and ponies. This grants you an 80% chance of becoming a moderator. To definitley become a moderator, clinch the deal with a goat and woollen blanket. Can't fail with that ;)

:ahem:[strike]Me for mod![/strike] please. I'll beg!!

:ahem: Even though thats not the proper way to go about it...

Heh.

Yeah, if James thinks you're qualified to be a mod, and there's a need for another mod, he'll PM you and ask if you'd like the job -- simple as that. If you want, you can take a look at the PM he sent me. (Yes, I still have it saved, heh).

Just wondering if you're interested in joining our staff -- as a moderator in the Nintendo forum.

We'd be happy to have you.

I look forward to your reply. :)

Wow, that's really all you have to do? Amazing, so thank-you everyone who posted here... well to every who posted a helpful post. ;) I guess any mod can come close this topic. Heeey! Wait. Why do they say "Topic Closed"? Why not just "Thread Closed". Oh well. Have a good day my friends.

*laughs at Queen Asuka's remark* I knew it was a matter of time before someone said that!

I must say, every mod that I have had the privilege of speaking to, is awesome. I know that I have had a few rough edges with a couple of them, but they turned out to be the coolest...*looks around to make sure the other mods are far away*Not that the others are great, because they are.

I appreciate everything that they have done for me. If it were not for mods such as Queen Asuka herself and terra, I do not think that my posting quality would be as great as it is now.

I respect everything that they have to put up with from the rest of us. I look back at some of the things I have done and kicked myself in my..yeah, and thought about the poor mods.

So major props to all mods! Keep up the amazing work;)

*rubs nose, "Why won't the browness go away!?")..lol, I try not to be a brown noser, I apologize.

It helps to be good looking, too. James has always held that quality first and foremost above all others :p

That and a little thing called post quality and being a solid contributor to the site >_>
