Guest Skeith34
I think that not being allowed to use online grammar (i.e. u=you ur=your, etc.) Is VERY unfair. Please remove this rule. all the other message boards allow it, Why can't you? I thank you if you get rid of this Harsh rule.
Shinmaru
The reason why this rule is in place is because posts are much easier to read when you can actually read them. Online "grammar" may be faster to type but it's confusing to sift through and it's very annoying to look at. If you do not think it is fair, then feel free to go to a message board that does allow you to post in that manner because the rules certainly aren't going to change here, heh. Especially not for something like this.

Well, I'd ask you to see it from our point of view. You are right in saying that most online forums allow people to post with poor quality. What we've tried to do, is create a place free of that -- somewhere where people can go and not have to see cluttered, spammy posts all the time. So, given that we created this site and everything...it's our right to make that determination. We've consciously chosen what we want to do here. I'm sure that this will not suit everyone's tastes. And, possibly, we are even potentially discouraging some people from joining as a result. But I don't mind. I'd rather be in that situation, than simply allowing the floodgates open to all kinds of lower quality posts.

This is actually one of the best boards I have ever been to, I don't see any other boards having banners or stuff like that.

You've expressed your opinion, but you haven't really explained your reasons for feeling that way. I'm personally a big fan of proper grammar and spelling. OB is something of a haven amidst the thousands of spam-littered forums which keep sprouting up all over the net. It's a relief to post at a place where using one's brain actually counts for something. It's unfortunate that you dislike this rule, but if you stick around here long enough, I'm sure you'll get used to it. Anyway, "you" is only two letters longer than "u." Spelling it out shouldn't really increase the time required to type the word. ~Dagger~
Semjaza
This is a place where people need to READ what you say. When I have to sit and make out horrible acronyms, I'm not going to want to read your posts. It also makes you look lazy and unintelligent. If you can't bother to add the two extra letters to "u" to make it say "you", then why should anyone bother to listen to you? In any case, this isn't every other forum. If you feel that way, then go to those forums. Personally, I don't want anything to do with them.
Transtic Nerve
I'm sory you're too lazy to type out simple words. Here let me bend over backward so I can change the rules to allow you to continue being lazy. If I can spend the extra half a second to type "you" instead of "u" (in many cases it takes less time for me to type "you" than "u") thenso can you. Mitch
This is OB. This isn't any other forum. I think this is enough said. It makes you look unhuman, stupid, idiotic, dumb, lackluster, untangible, untelligible, ungraspable, and above all, UNREADABLE. Honestly, if I see some newbie post even here and it's not written in paragraphs and is not written with proper spelling and grammar and doesn't have proper capitalization (such as : OMG WTF LolKQW#O!J@), then I will not read it.

No need to apologize. And...nobody ambushed you. Ambushing you means that we would have come up and started making these comments pre-emptively. But I mean...this wasn't unexpected -- you made the first post. Surely you expected people to respond. Just clarifying a few things. ~_^
Hittokiri Zero
Well Using words such as "u" instead of you in moderation is fine by me I guess -_o, although it's not up to me to decide I think many of the mods let that slip by every now and then as well. As long as someone isn't typing in total "internet lingo" shortening every word or every other word I think that it shouldn't matter... (unless they can't be understood...).
