RPG The Dragon Clans of Varv

It seemed as though time had slowed down.
The boulder was falling down, destined to hit Kyru. The arrow that Bremma had shot was coming at him. And that pesky runt from the Air Clan was trying to formulate a plan, [i]All brawn, no brains if anyone asked me...[/i] thought Kyru.
Kyru thought up a plan of action quickly.
Time seemed to slow down again as he sent his plan into action.
He still had his whip, everyone seemed to think he'd forgotten it. With the platinum blades attached, it could break through stone.
Another advantage he had was the Plasma Clan's marble, which he had attached to the handle of his whip before the fight, without letting anyone see. That enhanced the strength and speed of his whip.
In one swift movement, at the last moment, he flicked the whip.
The arrow was deflected to the side.
He directed his whip to lash upwards at the falling boulder, which was now only feet from his head.
The Bremma girl couldn't aim at him through the dust, and if an arrow hit the boulder it would come flying back at her.
The whip cracked the boulder down the middle, just in time.
The two halves of the boulder came rushing down past Kyru's front and back.
His next move was to call Incubuzzard. His high pitched whistle got him out of there just in the nick of time. The dust had settled a little and Bremma had launched a few more bolts at him.
Incu got a scratch or two, but managed to come out mostly unharmed.
[i]Home it is then. At nighttime, they won't dare come to our Clan for a surprise attack on me. And I think our Clan's marble will be needed if I'm to dispose of that lot.[/i] he thought.
[i]There are two other Ancient Clan Riders out there too, Kyru. The Flame and Freeze Clan Riders should be on their way to see what all the commotion's about. Once home, we should take our marble and head for the Fire or Ice Clan,[/i] this was the first time Incu had spoken to Kyru for years, and certainly the first time he had told Kyru what they should do.
[i]Okay, old friend. I'll follow your lead this time Incu[/i]

[Bremma]

She watched as he took off with a frown. She whistled and made a signal. Nyth hovered down, gently grabbing Bremma and carrying her over the rift to Orear. "Are you alright?" she asked, Nyth letting her down beside him before landing.

He nodded. "Yeah,b ut he ran."

"Nothing we can do about that now. Come on, lets get back inside. She mounted Nyth and they floew up, in face, higher than the entrance. She pulled out a blue stone and dropped it into a hole.

"What was that?" Orear watched.

"The signal that it is safe for the civilians to emerge again." she siad, now flying in.

Her eyes faded in color as she remebered her lover.

OOC: Im lost...

[Bremma]

OOC:I'm not sure where your character is GuardianStorm, but Bremma dnorear at at the mountain clan base and Rannos is at the plasma clan base, and Kyru is flying for now, i think.

IC: Bremma landed in the base, and Jen ran up to her. "Bremma! Its Kire! He's gone!"

"Gone?" she asked, slipping off the dragon. "As in hiding?"

"No, he took his dragon and went after the darkness rider." he said. "And form what I heard he was saying, he;s not oging to try to stop him..."

Bremma frowned. "Oh.. I dont think here is much I can do... but its not good. We'll have to rechange the signals and such..." she said.

Jens nodded. "I know."

She nodded back. "But we will be fine for now. Hopefully Rannos will make it back alright."

OCC: Where's StickFairy? The one supposed to be the Flame Clan Rider... If she doesn't post in the next two days, I'll reopen the Recruitment form for someone, who actually POSTS, to join.

IC:
Kyru and Incu arrived at the Darkness Dragon Clan and rested.
About an hour later they took the Clan marble and headed for the closest Clan....the Flame Dragon Clan...
Aparently they hadn't been notified about Kyru yet, being so isolated from the rest of the nation.
About halfway there, another rider came up alongside Incu.

'Many deathly greetings to you, Rider of the Dark I---'
'Look, kid,' Kyru interrupted, 'You saw what my dragon and I can do, if that runt Orear hadn't interfered then Bremma would be out for the count. What makes you think I wouldn't do the same thing to you?'
'What makes me think you wouldn't break open the earth at my feet is that one, we're flying, and two, I know how to get back at Bremma.' the kid didn't hide his feelings for sure. The whole time he spoke it was with hatred for Bremma...
'Well then, aren't you a smart boy? You could actually tell we're in the air and not on the ground! Wow!' the sarcasm was flowing like a flooded river, 'At least your head isn't full of rocks then.'

Orear: This Kire person is a rider from this clan?

Bremma: Yes. He thinks that he should be this clan?s ancient rider.

Orear: Killing you won?t make him this clan?s ancient rider. Nobody can choose who is an ancient rider and who is not. I do not know how it?s decided, but I do know when. It?s decided when you?re born.

Bremma: How do you know?

Orear: Tere?s no time for that now. If Kire?s a rider from this clan, eh?ll know all the standard signals. And he obviously knows that you?re this clan?s Ancient Rider. He might have figured out that you have the marble, too. And I?m betting he knows something about your skills and your dragon?s abillities.

Bremma: Not much.

Orear: Even the smallest piece of information can give the enemy an advantage. We can?t do anything about what he knows about you, but there are a few things we can do. We need to take certain measures to make sure that Kire?s treason has as little effect on us as possible. First, change the clan?s hand signals and any code words Kire knows the meaning of. Make sure everyone in the clan-and I do mean everyone-knows what Kyre looks like and that he?s a traitor. Find everything he didn?t take with him, and see if there are any clues as to what his plan is. It?s obvious that he?s trying to get you killed, but we need to know how.

[Bremma]

Bremma nodded to Jens. "Well, his boy is the head of our codes and signals. Think you can whip up a new set?"

"Of course, easily." he said with a nod.

"Perfect. Now what should we do Orear? Im sure that the rider of the darkness clan isn't going to sit on his laurels and wait for us. Where do you think he would strike next?"

[Lord Rannos]

Rannos arrived at the now empty battlegrounds. He twirled around quickly, looking for any sign of a winner. Seeing no bodies, he quickly ran into their base. Rannos ran straight for Bremma.
Bremma:Rannos! Did you get your marble?
Rannos:No. Apparently that Darkness Clan rider stole it.
Bremma:That would explain alot, he seemed too fast. He ran off a little while ago, assumedly to go for a different marble. Kire, a rider from our clan that has turned on us, left and is probably trying to aid the darkness clan.
Rannos: Then we should try to make contact with one of the clans.
Bremma: First I should find Orear again, then we leave.

OOC: Orear's with Bremma

Orear: Well, I've seen all the ancient riders except for one. I have no clue who the rider from the Fire Dragon Clan is. It's possible that the Fire Dragon Clan doesn't know about the ancient riders, or that that clan's rider isn't known. Whatever the reason, the absence of a fire clan rider marks that clan as a target. He'll go there first. We should be there, waiting for him. Of course, he might come here, too. After all, Kire's probably with him by now. I think that some of us should stay here while the rest go to the Fire Dragon Clan. I'll go to the fire clan. Rannos, you come with me. Bremma, Liri should be here soon. You stay here with her. Agreed?

[Bremma]

She frowned. "I'd much rather come.... but I will stay. Be careful." she said. "When she gets here we'll head for the flame clan base, otherwise, I'll remain here until you call for me." She bowed ot them. "May the wind blow with you."

Kyru waltzed away from the Flame Dragon Clan with the glowing red Clan marble in his hand.
[i]Heh....they don't even know who their Ancient Rider is yet! It's like living in the dark!! Well....for light-dwellers anyway...[/i] he thought.
Kire was trying to keep up, desperate for Kyru's attention.
'Kyru! Slow down! How do you expect me to keep up? It's like you don't want my help!'
[i]If you're that thick that you haven't put two and two together yet, you don't deserve to LIVE...let alone try ane "help" me...[/i] were Kyru's thoughts, aloud he said, 'You really ARE that thick that you haven't put two and two together yet, aren't you?'
Kire just stood there, shocked.
'If you REALLY want to help me THAT badly, I'll be at the Freeze Clan next. I wonder if they'll have at least SOME defences, unlike these hotheads from the Flame Clan.'

(Orear and Rannos reach the Fire Dragon Clan as Kyru and Kire are leaving)

Rannos: We're too late.

Orear: No, we're not. He probably has the marble by now, but he took too long getting it, and we caught up.

Rannos: What do we do, then?

Orear: I'll go after the darkness clan rider. You keep Kire busy. [Powietrze, we need to catch that darkness clan rider. I think a little extra boost would help.] (Powietrze uses the wind to make himself fly faster)

Kyru looked back towards the Flame Clan.
[i]Shit...not this little bastard again...Incu, we can turn and fight. We have three Clan marbles, Darkness, Plasma and Flame, and we just need to get away. Maybe another Dark Shroud would do...[/i] he thought to Incubuzzard.
[i]Sure thing. Should we add a bit of "hot spice" to the shroud??[/i] Incu asked.
[i]Hmm....good idea...[/i] Kyru thought back, placing the Flame Clan marble in one of Incu's claws, and the Darkness Clan marble in the other.
'Piss off you little runt! Or do you want to blow this away too?' Kyru called back to Orear.
Yet again, the shroud shot out around Kyru.
There was something different this time though...
If Orear tried to blow away the shroud, he and his dragon would get burnt badly.

OCC: I know this seems a bit unfair Takuya, but would it be okay if Orear attemted to blow away the shroud? You know, all "not this weak cloud again, Powiertze, blow it away!" that kind of thing. Just a request.
Don't worry, you'll all be able to fight Kyru soon...

OOC: Orear won't have Powietrze blow it away(read the post to find out why). However, I can certainly have him lose track of Kyru.

Orear: [Don't blow the shroud away, Powietrze. That's what he wants us to do. We'll lose track of him for sure, but that doesn't matter. We know where he's going, and we can probably get there before him, seeing as how it's daytime. We'll beat him to the Freeze Dragon Clan and get their marble to Liri. Then we'll find the Fire Dragon Clan's ancient rider. After that, all of us ancient riders will go up against that darkness clan rider. With all of us fighting him, we should be able to take him down in no time. SO go as fast as you can toward the freeze clan.] (Powietrze flies higher until he's out of the shroud, then turns and flies as fast as he can toward the freeze clan, using the wind to go faster)

Kyru looked back.
That Orear kid and his pet lizard rose up through the shroud.
They were no more than a speck on the horizon (there was a [b]lot[/b] of flat land between them).
[i]Ok Incu, you take me where you think would be the next best place. They know I'll go for the Freeze Clan, and will no doubt get there first...so let's see what happens. The elders of the Freeze Clan....all seven of them, will not want to let the marble go. They'll take AT LEAST a week to decide what's to happen. And they'd most likely want their ancient rider to take it herself. Not some kid claiming to be chasing me...[/i] he thought to Incu.
[i]Off we go then Kyru. To the underground. The deadland, if you think that name's better for it...only the elder from each Clan knows of that place...we shall stay in hiding until the last moment. With the Plasma and Flame Clans so weak, we strike their riders first. They'll be in hospitals by then, they're energy is draining from them....I can feel it...[/i]

Orear: (Thinking) So far, that rider?s been very smart. If he saw Powietrze fly out of the cloud, he?ll guess that we?re trying to beat him to the Freeze clan. And because there?s no way he?ll get there first, he?ll be doing something else. If I was in his position, I?d go after Rannos. He?s seen Rannos, and he knows that Rannos and his dragon are weaker than usual now. While they can surely take Kire, they?re no match for an ancient rider and dragon. Of course, the darkness clan rider might be hpoing that I?d think of that and go to help Rannos while he goes after the freeze clan?s marble. i can?t afford to let that happen. Even if he is after Rannos, the freeze marble is too important to not get. I have to get it to Liri. Three uf us with merbles should be more than a match for that darkness clan rider. I just hope Rannos has te sense to leave if the darkness clan rider shows up.
