Muad'Dib
I think this is a big issue, so I'm gonna bring it up with you mods. It's incredibly annoying when you post something in a board such as Banner/avitar and Adeventure Arena and when someone responds, they are incredibly slow with it. I'm not talking about slow typers here, I'm talking about the people on the banner request forum who say they are working on something, and then never respond again! (yes stormy_weather... I'm talking to YOU) and also on an adventure thread, after everyone is recruited, and then everyone is waiting on one person, and despite how much everyone tries to get them to post, they never do, making everyone else not only mad, but sometimes unable to continue the thread. This may seem childish to the mods, but I think everyone agrees when I say that you need to take SOME kind of measure to help this, or even prevent it. How, I don't know, but there must be SOME way of solving thos problem!
AzureWolf
Dude, cut them some slack. You should have seen how active things were during the summer. People have a lot of things to do during the school days (I wish I could update my myOtaku...). Yes, it is partly their fault for promising to commit time when they certainly can't, but you should not press them to do so. I think this problem is just a personal issue consisting of few persons. If people make commitments and fail to keep them, then their reputation will fall. Make obligations you can keep, or don't make them at all. Still, I think you should give some lee-way if it's not that big of a delay.
Muad'Dib
true... very true... but I'm talkin like, days and weeks here. seriously. one solution, though I doubt it will ever happen, is to make a "reminder board" forpeople who simply forgot they posted on something, and if they see it on the board then they know... though you guys can probably name plenty of flaws with that idea. Semjaza
There are a few things you could do. If you're seriously waiting weeks for something (or even several days), I think it is safe to say that 1.) the person forgot or 2.) something more important came up. In either case, nothing is going to be done about it, it's forgotten. Complaining about it and expecting mods to get on their case about it seems somewhat excessive to me. In that situation I think the best course of action would be to simply PM these people. You could always learn to make it yourself... Gimp is a free image program that's almost in the same league as Photoshop.
Charles
Well, what can I say? You're basically engaging in a personal agreement with other members in one way or another in the examples you've provided. What can we do about it? It is the creator of an RPG that must decide who participates or not. Although we discourage members from signing up for RPGs they do not plan to commit to--it happens. That's why it's important for creators of said RPGs to be careful about who they allow into the final game or not. Suffice to say, such ventures require a bit of responsibility on both sides. It's not something we can actually control. I'd like to imagine that someone who signs up for RPGs and never fulfills their commitments will earn a poor reputation and be denied access to future games. The same advice could apply to requesting images. Don't commit yourself to one person. Keep the field open and hope for the best. You?re asking people for favors in this respect--to take their own time and dedicate it to completing a project for you. I?m sure everyone has their fair share of responsibilities. Sometimes creating a banner or an avatar isn?t a top priority. I can't see us trying to enforce rules on a personal network of unfulfilled relationships on the boards if they're not directly interfering with anything. That would be a bit much. These would be trivial things to pursue when there are so many more important things we have to deal with.
Muad'Dib
alright... you got me there.... I guess I can't argue with that logic :flush:
Arasoi
I'd try to be a bit more patient, I think. After all, you are requesting that they do you a favor. It's possible that something's come up, too. I know sometimes things happen with me that are totally unexpected, and may render me incapable of doing much of anything for a few days... But, you could always PM whoever it is with a reminder or something. Just try to make it nice. If you're too impatient, that may make it even harder for him or her, or they may not want to do it.
Kyo no Ryu
Believe it or not FAST is sometimes more annoying. I hate it when your in an RPG and 2 other people are posting at the same time. You should CHECK THE WHOS ONLINE SECTION BEFORE POSTING.
Muad'Dib
uhh.. Kyo, I don't see that as a major issue right now, and it's pretty much the opposite of what we're talking about here... (FYI I check the "who's on-line" whenever I get on)
Viper0529
If you are having trouble with people not posting, especially on the banner/ avitar page, just make a new one and get someone else. On the adventure arena, I would personaly PM someone who is not responding to get them to notice.
vegeta rocker
Just kick them off when they cease to show up. Or just continue without them by getting a replacement, that'll teach 'em.

vegeta rocker
Well if the own creator stops showing up then thats a whole diffrent problem. But i doubt that is the case every time, that probably only happens with crappy rpgs. I can't think of any reason why a creator would stop frequenting an rpg he or she put considerable thought into. If you join a well thought out rpg thats usually pretty good insurance it won't happen at all. But if the creator stops, well just wait awhile. Maybe they could implement a time limit, few creators would want to see their creation deleted.
