Yes, my all-seeing eyes have found this thread and the quarrel within. Mitch, next time you should elaborate on your opinions instead of posting what is essentially spam. That's the source of this bickering. A thought is only relevant if it's supported--and yours initially was not. So, of course confusion was likely. Everyone isn?t automatically going to understand what you?re trying to get across when you?re posting briefly and ambiguously. That?s why none of our members should do that. We're having discussions here--not dropping in and providing quips.

Now, all off-topic discussion and squabbling will cease or I'm likely to have an aneurysm. That is, if FirePheonix727 doesn't have one first. O.o;;

Agree with you completely, Char. The thing was...I was listening to Bob Dylan as I posted and was in some Dylan-induced haze lol. I did think it was stupid to be so obtuse later.

Well, I apologized to Asuka and such so that's all squared out.

And for the record, my opinion on this topic is that I do like The Beatles, but I like Bob Dylan more.

Living with my father for the seventeen years of my life has turned me into a Beatles Historian (not that I asked for it or anything).

But they have become one of my favorite bands of all time (Bob Dylan influenced or not :p).

It's really too bad that John isn't alive today, I mean, two more inches to the left after that shooting and we'd be one less Yoko Ono in the world (wich would be an improvement, trust me). At least we still have Paul, Ringo (Richard Starkey), and George's remains floating in an Indian river.

Oh well, like Lennon said, "All you need is love"

Yes, Mitch and I have made amends and such.

But there is something that I thought I would mention to ya, Mitch that HC pointed out earlier.

Beatles lyrics during their experimentation phase was inspired by Bob Dylan, since he wrote songs that were meaningful and usually politically driven. ^_^ See?

Hmm, the Beatles. They could do no wrong.
Except for the ugly, "Yoko" incident....hehehe
No, those guys were absolutely brilliant. I didn't like their early stuff, like "hold your hand" etc, althought I am a big fan of "Help" and "Can't buy me love."
Anything after that stuff is too good to be true. I played Come Together and Get Back in a rock band with some friends at school just the other day. Didn't sound too bad, If I don't say so myself.
No, they were great musicians and very inventive... well all except for Ringo, who was a terrible drummer.

:D I've never gone out of my way to listen to the beatles, but other people in my house have and I've always liked it. I'm not an obsessive, or even a major fan, I guess a casual fan.

My boyfreinds a big John Lenon fan, so I really like stuff like Imagine (in fact I love Imagine) *shrug*

My dad used to have this joke, our cats used to bring insects and other assorted nasties into the house, we'd go to take a abth and there'd be this water-beetle on the floor. We'd run to my parents 'There's a beetle in the bathroom!' and he'd turn round and say, 'which one? Ringo Starr? John Lenon?' ¬_¬ lol

I've seen most of Yellow Submarine, veeeeery strange, yup. Cool, but weird...

doe anyone one remember Tomas The Tank Engine..? That was narrated by Ringo Starr... I used to love that... :D

I love Beatles. I've been listening to their songs since I was about 3-4 years old. ad also likes their band andh as been crazy about them ever since. He collects Beatles' cd musics. My dad and I also went to Paul McCartney's concert in California last year. It was so cool. And we get to meet President Clinton in their. (i haven't scanned the picture that i took of him yet cuz I'm too lazy to). Although, I didn't get to meet Paul Mccartney in personal in his concert. I think Beatles is the best! ^_^

My dad raised me on the Beatles. I grew up liking Ringo, but now I'm a diehard Paul fan. (I guess I had a problem w/ the John/Ono scandal. I felt sorry for Julian--John's son who Paul wrote "Hey Jude" for when his parents split up... :( )
Their diversity in sound is a big step up from most of the Beach Boys songs...nearly all of them sound alike (except for "Good Vibrations" and "Kokomo"). The Beatles had variety all along.
I like a lot of their songs, but those written by Paul tend to be my faves. (Yesterday, Hey Jude, I am the Walrus... ) I really think they've influenced modern music like no other artist/group. (I'm not a big Elvis fan...though I've been to Graceland...) They [the Beatles] were certainly prolific. I've lost track of how many different Beatles CDs we have...too many...
Anyway, closing point: The Beatles are awesome!! It doesn't get much better than them!!

"Number Nine."
"Number Nine."
Wow, i don't know if anyone else has heard of this, but the beatles actually made a chirstmas cd. (well, i don't know if you can call it a CD, it was a tape at the time) And well, it's kinda like, "let's get the guys together, and make up silly songs for the day" . Let me warn you, some of these songs, esp. by John make no sense, but sense i listened to the tape with my dad, i can't get "Christmas time is here again" out of my head. My favorite line...."O..U...T.. spells OUT!!!" :) ;)

Well, to be quite honest, I'm not sure exactly what it is about them I like so much. I can't even say that I've been listening to them "for the longest time", because I've just recently gotten into the beatles. BUT! I can say that I do like the way that if you play some of their songs backwards, it has hidden messages. Like the song "revolution 9", if you play it backwards, it says "turn me on dead man". It's awesome.

XD ((I am so late to this thread...))

I absloutely ADORE the Beatles. They are my favorite musical group of all time. I think I got it from my mom.

It's odd though, I've always liked them, but not until 2 months ago when my dad and I were cleaning up the house, he put on a Beatles record and I just got automatically hooked. ((my parents both have at least 50 Beatles albums...x.x not counting the CD's we already own!)) I have a lot of songs memorized...the easy ones, like "Eleanor Rigby" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand." ((my fav's!))
When I was little, my mom always listened to the Beatles in her car and stuff, but I never cared. Now I'm the one that makes her listen to them in her car! ((She keeps on putting "I'll Be Back" on repeat...*sigh*)) I don't think it was until recently ((6th grade when I took up the flute)) that I actually started to appretiate music.

And for every Beatle fan, there comes the question, "Who is your favorite Beatle?" Mine is Paul McCartney....*sniffle* Why did he re-marry after Linda died?
My friend hates Paul because she thinks he's racist because he hates Yoko and that he helped break the band up x.x ((long story-her opinion, not mine...)). I love John too, I love all of them-I just wish they would've stayed together longer like the Rolling Stones or something.

I could just go on and on. And because of them, I have a major "thing" for British guys now....^^;; ((I think Beatle Mania is still going on-at least in my head!))

Isn't is funny how you may not even be from the same generation as your parents, but you like some of the things they did? I don't know a person in the world that doesn't like the Beatles, unless they've never bothered to sit down and listen to their music. I went totally berserk the other day when I heard "Hey Jude" in the grocery store...

((I sware, I'm on the verge of starting a Beatles fanclub. Anyone care to join? ^.^ I seriousely need Bealtes friends...none of my friends like the Beatles because they're hooked on their Anime music and Japanese Rap...x.x)) ((see, told you I was obsessed!! *points to plain siggy*))
