Now Ill tell you, I have never seen this but my mom ALWAYS talks about the wire hanger sceen. I just saw the clip on I love the 8os. THAT WOMAN WAS PSYCHO! She went crazy over everything. Not to mention she had freaky eyebrows. But the wire hanger scene will haunt me forever. "WHAT IS THIS? WHAT IS IT? I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU! NO WIRE HANGERS... EEEEVVVEEEEEERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!" oh my god. If you have seen this express your thoughts. My mom said she would rent it for mothers day... yikes.

A very tragic film. Here's Joan Crawford, America's most loved movie star, and she's a complete wacko-nut, for lack of a better term. Even though it's based off of a true story, I still can't help but laugh at half of the stuff she did. That includes the wire-hanger scene. One thing that bothered me, though, was how Christopher (her son) disappeared half-way through the movie. One scene, Christopher and Christina (such creative names) were sitting together. Next, Christina is a teenager and we never see her little brother again. Maybe I just missed something.

My mom showed me this movie when I was very young. I think it was to show what she would act like if I didn't behave. I liked it though. I liked how Faye Dunaway did an over-the-top performance. It's pretty sad though, if all of that really did happen. I also don't understand on 'I Love the 80's II' they said she was a gay icon. Her daughter turned out to be a lesbian. Wouldn't she be like, disliked in that community?

Yeah I saw that on I love the 80s too. *smooths out eyebrows* I SAID NO WIRE HANGERS!! NO WIRE HANGERS!!!!!!! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*goes to room and starts beating inocient pile of balnkets with a wire hanger* NO MORE WIRE HANGERS!!! *wipes forehead and mkes her eyebrows go back to normal* That was freaky. And you know that one scene with all powder cleaner in the bethroom. That was werid too. That would suck to clean that all up. But weren't they suppose to be rich? Didn't they have a maid or someone to take care of that? Of course then her secret would be out.....Don't you love it when you anwser you own questions?

That movie was hillarious, I mean the woman was a total Wackadoo.

I feel bad for Christina and I don't blame her for giving rights to that movie. I thought it was shot very well expressing the gradual change into such physcotic episodes as cutting down your rosebush or shearing your daughter's hair off.

There's also a song about her by Blue Oyster Cult called "Joan Crawford"

Mommy Dearest is so funny! I also saw it on "I Love the 80's". Hmm.....a clean freak who hates wire hangers and abuses her kids... let's make a movie about it!! Jeez. Then there was the part when she was cutting down the rosebush and she has this nasty look on her face and asks for the ax... I think I will rent the movie and watch it.

just 'cause I'm a newbie doesn't mean I can't have a buddy! pm me!! Somebody! Please! *sigh*

I thought it was a pretty good movie. My friends and I always joke about that scene. I actually have an away msg on aim that says, "No mommy! Don't beat me with the wire hanger!" ...

She was seriously a psycho, though. She only adopted those kids for publicity. Than, she treated them like crap. I think she like strapped her son to his bed everynight.. It was odd.
