[Hittokiri Zero]

Here is a simple layout I started creating yesterday and worked on a little bit earlier today. Although it might seem odd it is almost near completion o_O. I'm going for a simpler look and planning to strive more on content and in particular music videos with this website hence the fact for the simplistic layout design.

NOTES:

-Some colors came out distorted (can't really notice because of small preview) again so i'm going to have to find a way to fix that...

-Yes and the characters in the banner are from the Shinsengumi *go figure* =).


edit: now that i think about it shrinking the image so i could attach it as an attachment wasn't a good idea i was going to ask what you guys thought about the navigation but oh well :P

Looks excellent, I'd say. I would honestly like to see a full size of it though, because, for me at least, the resizing of the text is rather distracting.

The use of of various shades of one color is great, I have no complaints there. Nothing blends in too much, it all stays how it should. The image placement is also nice... especially because you totally avoid the problem I feel many people here have: stuffing way too many pics into one place. You've never done that though, to my knowledge, so whatever heh. I really like what you did with the text up top as well.

Did you also design the current layout? I really like how that turned out as well. It's very calming and subdued. Pulled that off really damn well, if so.

The only complaint I have with the current layout is that it totally hates Mozilla, but I assume that's thanks to the webmaster and not you heh.

Really nice job. I rarely ever have nothing but good things to say about something, but I really like how this turned out.

Yeah I did the current layout as well, the biggest problem I have (well atleast it looks this way on my pc...) is that the colors seem very distorted or atleast completely different from how they're supposed to look/in photoshop. Sometimes for whatver reason although I think it is the host i've been told the current layout seems to go lagtastic on 56k users sometimes x_X.

As for the new layout right now i'm contemplating if I should add recent music video boxes or not =\ what do you (all) think o_O?

--- on a side note the text in banner might possibly change, I like it so far but alot of other fonts look nice as well so dur... whatever ^_^ ---

I've had that problem as well... Sometimes it's unavoidable because many people have their monitors calibrated incorrectly. There's almost always some sort of color difference, albeit it marginal, for whatever reason. All you can really do is make sure your copy of Photoshop has its color settings set at Adobe RGB (and that you change anything else you import. That and obviously working in RGB and not CMYK... the rest is kind of just up in the air, it seems lol.

Recent additions is always a good idea for a site of this type, I'd say.

Hmmmm good idea I can try to work something like that in. I'll porbably do it more as a text based thing though as I really want to keep this layout clutter free of too many images =O.

Eh..... I like it very much. The head font for the banner is awesome, the pictures are clear, the colours appear very good to me. Maybe it is just your comp, but then again, I don't know what the original colours were o.O

Heh. However, I really like this.

I like the layout, the colours and the whole idea.. however, one of the characters looks a bit strange... He has a flat butt, and looks like he should be sitting down, not stanidng as he is. He is the bottom-left positioned one. That is just really bugging me. Heh. Aside from that, an awesome job. No idea who they are, but you have done very well. 9/10 layout.

I like the fact that it's very broken up and freeform, but still has a structure; in other words, it doesn't come across as looking clumsy or messy. I also agree with Tony in the sense that you didn't kill the design with too many images. I see a lot of layouts where people simply pack their site's banner/header with a million images...and it really takes away from the design.

If the layout is nice, the imagery you put into it won't matter much.

The fact that the images are also blue and white, but with a hint of other colours is really nice too. They don't dominate the page but they give it just enough flair to prevent blandness. Very nice work.[/color]

w00t w00t here is another somewhat more complete preview... I think it's bigger as well =]. What you see for recent music videos is more or less how it is probably going to be in the version, although the colors of the text will be made slightl darker so they are easier to read. I'm also debating as to whether only have "recent MVs" on the main page and then from section to section the Recent MV spot will change to serve as a sub-navigation -_o. Anyway... I also noticed that the color of the side bar is coming out a little too dark when I save it but since it's probably my monitor I might leave it but if any of you are having the same problem tell me so I can make it just a tad bit lighter =P.

ROFL I never noticed that :laugh:. I could try to make it round but i'd rather not tamper with the stock image that much =o.

*smacks upside the head* They be the Shinsengumi. They were a real group of people in japanese history who *essentially* acted as a police troop, patrolling the streets of Kyoto in order to keep the peace.

Moo? Wait that didn't come out right... Thanks ^_^. Many of the layouts I do now are essentially based around one or two colors and are just created by using slightly different shades of those two colors for everythign else. The trouble is finding a image to fit my desired color scheme... Although often times I just end up editing the colors of the image so they match :rolleyes. Eh well that wasn't the case this time as I based this layout around the stock image ^___^.
