I just got this game on thursday and it is definately the best one yet. There is 9 playable characters and you can play 2 players and go online. I haven't got my network adaptor yet but it will. Mainly for FF11 though. I was wondering what you guys thought of the game.

Well if it's anything like the two towers, which it will be, than it should be one of the best games for the holidays.

However, I would really like to see the developers address the length problems that we all saw in the two towers. Im sorry, but I just felt the two towers was far too short, and for such a great game... man! that makes the short length even worse.

I really like this game. I've been playing it none stop. Its graphics are amazing an so realistic. The sounds and music are excellent as well. It is almost like watching the movie. Its pretty good but it could be better. I wish it was online and you could play with other people.

First of all, it is online and it has a two player mode. The length is a problem but it's no where near as bad as the first one. Also, the codes don't work until you beat the game, which I like. It is a lot harder. Just go to the gamefaq message boards for this game and you will see what I'm talking about.

What do you guys think the best character is? I would have to say Legolas because for a level 10 upgrade he shoots 2 arrows at 2 targets with one shot. It's really cool.

Usually, games that are basted on movies are just plain crap. This one seemed like it was cool, at least because of the multiplayer stuff that I just heard about right now.
I always wanted to play the first 2 with a friend or someone, cause it seemed like the meele was fun and all, but never really got the chance to.

Looks like my prayers are finally answered, and one of the greatest sagas of all time is coming from a book, to a movie, to a game (all three fairly succesfull which is very rare) and its second player as well.

I wonder, if i was playing the two towers for countless hours, I dont know how many days I'll play Return of the king consecutively.

Well, it certainly sounds even better than Two Towers.

I rented Two Towers for the GameCube and really enjoyed it. The hack and slash gameplay didn't really get repetitive to me and the graphics and control are both very sharp. The RPG elements really added a nice twist to the pure action of the game, as well.

Anyway, Return of the King seems like it addresses the major problems that most people had with Two Towers (some levels were too short and there was no two-player co-op). The sheer number of characters that you can play as adds some replay value that Two Towers was a bit lacking in (I can't wait to kick *** as Gandalf and Aragorn).

I'll probably end up renting the game. Who knows, I might even end up buying it.

I just ordered this game for my boyfriend (ground shipping, though, so I don't know when it'll get here :() and I'm really excited for its arrival, as I will be playing it with him, whether he likes it or not. It's been getting good scores from the reviews I've seen, so ... *drools*

Heh ... just had to let out some of my impatience. I'll be back after I've actually played the game :p.

LOTR is one of the best game series yet. Although I have not got to play "Return of the King." I have saw the previews and Frodo is one of the playable characters. Correct? Well anyway the game must be good and if its capable of being played online it just keeps getting better.

I have to admit that this is a really interesting and fun game to play. I personally like doing it in co-op mode. I am almost there on completing it but it's harder in co-op as the person I play with, either me or him usually ends up dying and so is taking us longer to do the levels. The enemies can be rather annoying at times, when they use their shields to block, but I suppose that's what it would be like in real life. Overall a nice game and better than the two towers in my opinion.

One of the best games out for the PS2 right now. I love this game! The graphic's are much more better than Two Towers, though I don't understand why they're mouth's don't move. The sound is great, same with the music. The music sounds just like as if you're watching the movie. The voiceovers are a little odd to me though.

Game play is great, not to mention how great the 2-Player concept is. (Kind of redundant considering I've not yet played with a friend. ><) Overall, this game is just awesome. Loved it the first minute I played it. ^_^

This LOTR game was the best ever made. 9 playable characters, online compatible, and 2 player co-op...One thing was wrong though it was to easy I beat it in 2 days both in co-op and single player.

Eh, I wasn't as sold on this game as I expected to be. Especially considering the hype surrounding it. The backgrounds were outstanding, but I frequently lost my character in the action. Also, I was disappointed that you couldn't skp the cinematics until after you had viewed them once already. I understand this was a problem before too, but that doesn't make it any less annoying. Consider the fact that the cinematics make little to no sense whatsoever in the context that they're delivered and it's a definite problem.

I don't see how anyone could classify this game as anything more than an average beat 'em up that offers little over anything like the Dynasty Warrior series.

Rent it and be done with it.
