Has anyone seen this relatively new Gus Van Sant film? It won the Palme d'Or (it's the highest honors) at the Cannes Fetival de Film last year.

I saw it last night. It was pretty enthralling. It made me think a lot. It's weird though, part of me was like "the only thing I learned from that is 1) good thing I don't go to a public school (no offense) and 2) Don't make fun of the weird kids because they might come to school and shoot you." The more I think about it though the more it makes me ponder. I think parents should be to blame not media etc...

The cinematography was incredible, but the acting was iffy at some parts.

I was wondering what anyone else thought about when the two guys before they leave for school get
into the shower together. Do you think it was because they had (perhaps supressed) homosexual feelings, or do you think it was because they just needed someone to reach out to or because they knew they were about to die and they just wanted to have one sexual experience, because the guy with the blonde hair said "I've never even kissed a girl before."
Hmm, something to ponder.

Also, I thought it was even more tragic how
that one girl that wouldn't wear shorts in gym class died first. It made me feel even worst considering her life didnt look too happy
and what was with that Bennie guy? Why did
he walk up to that guy? What a freaking idiot. He wasn't trying to be heroic because he didn't do anything to help that teacher. He just stood there.
On the whole it was a very powerful film.I recommend it.

I think it is going to get a wider release. Or at least I hope so. It's performing very well for being in limited release right now. It was a full house when I went. Please, someone else has to have seen it.

It was only playing in LA and NYC but last Friday it opened in the big 13 (DC, Boston, San Fran., Dallas...err and I don't remember the rest), but its like the typical big cities. I hope it gets a wider release. If not, everyone should rent it on DVD, and let me know what you get out of it, if anything.

rttocs77, double posting isn't allowed. Just copy your double post, edit your older post by clicking the "edit" button that is next to your first post, and add your copied text into it and there you go.

As for the movie, I shall be seeing it someday, I suppose. I do want to see it, just don't have the money.

Really? Where do you live? You mean it's playing in the city you live in? If it is I really recommend you see it. Mainly because it really makes you think and I would also like someone to discuss it with.

I definately think it's worth the $10 for admission.
