ChibiHorsewoman
You do know why they celebrate on the 11th of November right? *pulls out Jeopardy props* It's to mark the signing of the Armistance between the Allies and the Axies powers in WW1 on the eleventh day of the eleventh month at the eleventh hour:) As for rememberance and such. The military Installation at Ft.Hood Texas gave all their soldiers a four day weekend-meaning they had off yesturday and today. For that matter we should try to remember all the KIAs, MIAs and those who came back with eyes who saw too much. And I'm proud to say I'm the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, the Granddaughter of WW2 vets and the wife of a soldier. Inuyashafan418
People just don't understand the sacrifice the verterans had to live with....like what Chibihorsewoman said, we also need to remember the KIAs MIAS and those who saw too much. My great grandpa died in WWII, so it comes to heart...Even though I never met him.
Guest cloricus
The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month and wouldn't it have sucked to be the last guy to die before it was signed... We had Remembrance Day in Australia which is one of two events that "stops the nation"; the other is the Melbourne cup. Here we have a minutes silence followed by the last post and then the ode(sp?) plus depending where you are other things are added to it.
