dark king
have you ever heard of dreams that last longer, and you really slept only one night? i have it frequently, you sleep 9 hours but you dream like 3 days. and then the place where i go when i`m out longer. i called it midland, and i go there very often. it`s cool because there i am like a third god between god and the devil. but the longest time i`ve been there was 200 years!!!!! exact to the second. but when i woke up only one night had past by. strange or not? anyway i wanted to know and share experiences with everybody who will react on this. Corey
I often have dreams (when I can remember them *grumble*) that last longer than one night. I've never had one that has lasted more than a few days, but it certainly is an interesting concept.
dark king
yes indeed the concept itself sets yourself in a paradox. like if the time would be included i am like 218 years old. but then you have another thing. my dreams look like i am experiencing life right now. i know this i am not dreaming now or i would be a friggin god right now. but how to explain it? time, reallity factor, subconcious, paradox. it`s strange but a good way to reduce stress (when you are in control of your dreams) or to go if you feel miserable. but the first reaction was perfect. keep sending. White Akita
i also have dreams that last like that. the longest i've dreamed is 5000 yrs. its vauge in my memory bank though. i dream many things..gods, demons, in which i always am.i usually dream the same place too. when you talk about controlling your own dreams, that gets boring after a while. i like controlling my friends. i make her wake up screaming bloody murder:)
dark king
the same place must be your universe right? like i have midland my universe then so do you i think. but did you conciously created that place? if so then there could be 6 billion universes in this universe, so within every individual would be a universe. and rising the question: are we part of a universe of someone or something else? that would be a double paradox, or a continuous one asking: then who`s or what`s universe is existing in who`s or what`s universe and so on. and to make it even more complicated: is this dreaming or are we awake, are the boundries of our power a result of sleeping or a result of wakefullness? now that ought to be the most important thing to find out in your life. so does this give us a new meaning of life? like we are on the human life mission to find out if all of this is true. or that paradox is simply the creation of the human brain. either way this is a very interresting subject. but on to what you wrote white akita. so you control other peoples dreams? that means you must be telepathic or subconcious telepathic. about that i know more than dreams because i am a little of a telepath myself. i downloaded something called brainwave generator. it produces the low and high frequency tones where you can tune in to reach alpha beta theta and gamma states of mind. wich enhance your brain to be more active. train with it and become very intelligent and awaken those powers like telepathy and phycokinesis. on the last i trained without help and it`s tough to do. offcourse my mission in life is to awaken those things, the full potential of the human brain. to experiene that and to pass it on genetically to my offsprings. and to pass it on to society. that would be the most hardest task because of religion, disbelief, sceptics and so on. life is not yet discovered so keep going and find it. Justin
O_o I never have any ability to 'create' my own world in my dreams. Nor have I ever had an reoccuring dreams that reoccured more than just a few times. However, I have had dreams that seemed to last more tha one night. -Justin
dark king
you see, time difference in dreams seems to be with more individuals. the intensity is diffrent because of interrests, lifestyle, and quantity of other things you do in a day. the one is more talented than the other. but there is another thing i have encountered in this dream of 200 years. i was accompanied by 2 others i always spend my time with doing all sorts of paranormal stuff, from cursing (not destructive) to levitating. they had the same dream, or more or less we had the dream together. i think because it`s a bond or mutuality of mind. we think the same. but that gives you another point. is it one universe or a combinated one? i waited with this untill i got some positive reactions. but it`s all positive and well but still the question remains about the paradox i reffered to in my last post. if we all would think about it maybe we get some good results. sorry for the double post but i will mend it the moment i get a reply on the subject, so i ask of the moderator not to close this thread. the reason i post is because of the subject that i wish to see more thought over by anyone who wants to read it. about this paradox and the experience people get from their dreams and how long they last. we can only speculate but to talk it over is definetly worth talking about. one dreams 1 minute, another dreams 5000 years, yet they sleep 8 hours. the surroundings and enviroments you encounter, the play of your story, your experience of life within your dreams, these are subjects anyone could talk about. a dream of fear, reflection of the subconcious mind, real funny dreams, too much tv at some times. i want to share these experiences, this knowledge and who doesn`t? why? because we do not know everything, we wish to know all yet when such knowledge is gained our vision upon life changes. i do not know all but the things that i know are clear to me and i wish to share my oppinion, my knowledge and experience. all are welcome we are the same yet unique. the real works of dreams. please make this item of discussion not forgotten. black bird
the same place must be your universe right? like i have midland my universe then so do you i think. but did you conciously created that place? if so then there could be 6 billion universes in this universe, so within every individual would be a universe. and rising the question: are we part of a universe of someone or something else? that would be a double paradox, or a continuous one asking: then who`s or what`s universe is existing in who`s or what`s universe and so on. and to make it even more complicated: is this dreaming or are we awake, are the boundries of our power a result of sleeping or a result of wakefullness? I like your train of thought , really I do . You can think about this forever and it's a deep subject only if you try to answer one question you get more questions but I like the subject alswel . I downloaded something called brainwave generator. it produces the low and high frequency tones where you can tune in to reach alpha beta theta and gamma states of mind. wich enhance your brain to be more active. train with it and become very intelligent and awaken those powers like telepathy and phycokinesis. on the last i trained without help and it`s tough to do. ehhhw ... does it actually work , yet ? How long did you have this thing ? It would be cool if it worked . I'm open minded about a lot of things but I'm sure about one thing , there are people that just want to lie to make money and sell stuff that doesn't work with a fancy story to make you believe . So does it work ? If it doesn't I'm not surprised . Well back to the topic . I never had those time dreams . I don't keep track of time in real life let alone in dreams , a lot of things happen in my dreams though . I just don't pay attention to the time that supposed to have passed . . I just live life . But my dreams , when I have them ... The are freakishly real  . I can feel thempeture , touch , see colour , hear things , smell things , feel things just in as in real life . I one dreamed of a devil and it scared the hell out of me but I also have very nice dreams . I month ago or so I had a strange dream that sort of came true I guess . It was about me and a friend trying to save people and we where from the hospital . Only we did not drove in a hospital car ( yeah I now my word choice is not good ) , we jumped around like spider man . We were very acrobatic . I remember that we were trying to save someone and the moment we arrived I woke up . Well that day I heard someone I knew committed suicide . That brings up the hole question what is real and what is reality again . I never had those kind of dreams before but I hope I don't get them again , I just like to dream good things . My flying dream was nice . I could feel the wind and stuff like that but I'm staying of the topic now . Well this was my post , bye
Panda
I have had dreams that last longer than one day but I think the dream that stands out to me is a reoccuring dream I have. I have been dreaming this same dream for at least 15 years. I am not sure what triggers the dream but everytime I am dreaming it, I tell myself "Oh, it's the dream again!". In this dream I am following a man in a trench coat. I never see his face and that is one of my goals is to finally catch up with him to find out who he is. When I was younger I though maybe this was suppose to be my soul mate, but I have found my real life soul mate and I am still having this dream. Weird huh. Timelines in dreams are an unsual thing. Sometimes my dreams seem to last only a "few hours" of a day up to several years or lifetimes.
Rikku
I sota have a future phobia. I'm not sure what I want to do with my life, so I never dream about the distant future. In my dreams, only a couple days would pass if any. A lot of times my alarm goes off and I hit snooze... then I go back to sleep without realizing it and dream about going about my day as if I woke up. Then I wake up and realize I've overslept and that the dream didn't happen.
Fall
I've actually got a dream that reoccurs every now and then. I starts exactly the same, the story-line is exactly the same. Though the ending is slightly different every time I dream it. It's set in town, around the places where I usually am when I'm in town. Maybe it's because I'm often there in real-life. Whatever it is, the ending always has somthing slightly different, usually only small, but I can pick it. It lasts over three or four days, and what really freaks me out is most of the events in this dream have happened to me in real-life in the past. I always wake up tinking it's been three or four days since I've been in town, and then realise it's only been a dream. I hate waking up from that dream. dark king
first my thanks to the ones who replied. blackbird: this brainwave generator i used for a wile can work if you spend a lot of time in it understanding how it works and to try and enter these altered states of concienceness. in the long run it will work and you can start doing advanced brainwave techniques or to quicker enter an alpha or gamma state of mind. these states alpha, beta, theta, gamma, are the forms of sleep and dreaming. your brain is in an beta state, means that you are in a deep sleep. if you train to enter these states you can stay focused yet have tremendous dreams, your brain becomes more active more creative. but you can do this too without the use of brainewave generators. it might mean more practice on the subject you want to learn like: pschychokinesis, but the result will be more intense, like the meaning of effort, the more effort the better the result. ow and the brainwave generator is free. as for the reality of your dreams, i call it full collor or first person view. but the scary things about my dreams are that i can actually get wounds and marks i recieve in a dream. for instance i once jumped over a hill wile a grenade was hitting in, i cut my left arm on a sharp rock, i had a (thin) cut from my elbow to my wrist, i got back up there and minutes later i was shot in the chest, i woke up and i had this bleeding cut on my left arm and a sharp pain in my chest. i guess it is the mind body connection. panda: the person in the trenchcoat might not resemble your soulmate but maybe your inner self or a part of you that you seek, or a missing feeling in your life. very often these signs come forth in your dreams. like i want to have acknowledgement in my life for my individuality and my thoughts, so in my dreams i am the dark king, i rule an entire universe yet i live among the people an stay an individual, a little acceptation stuff. but one thing i want you and all the people to to and that is to learn from your dreams. if you have ideals there you can have them here. for instance: i had a dream of 200 years, in modern and the middle ages combined. money was not there we did all from our harts and we all felt free. i made weapons for shows and plays, but i could wield them all with skill. i had 200 years to learn that so here i can wield any sword i get in my hands. learn from your feelings you have in your dreams, and get to know your inner self even better. rikku: i have had dreams of waking up and going to school. my alarmclock went the figures where round instead of square, my head was still sleepy but i got up, walked to the stairs and saw in my eyecorner that the sky was red, and then my alarmclock went and i really woke up. those things happen when you do something a lot and somewhere you are not comfortable with it, or you are exhausted from the previous day. if you do the same long enough you will dream of it. and that can be a frustration, for instance: i worked at a bakery, and i had to cut the passing bread before it went in the oven. at night i was still doing the same work, thank god i was fired after a week. i never want to do that again. but those are the common signs of doing something too much, and if it is waking up for school then get used to it, or...do a little relaxation technique before you go to sleep. sit up straight on your bed, breath slow and deep, lie down after a minute and continue breathing slow and deep and think of a nice place or of a funny cartoon or something positive and relax your body with every exhale, and you will sleep without even realizing you where falling into it. fall: the things that have come true in your wakefullness (i hope good things) are sometimes the result of wanting something so much that your subconciousness takes over, it starts to program itself to look into the future, precognition. precognitive dreams can sometimes set you into an advantage. if something bad was going to happen you might want to do something different than you did in your dream. be sure you remember your dreams, you can place a notepad next to your bed and every morning you write down some keywords or the entire story. find out what some things could mean in your dreams, cause sometimes the answer wears a mask. the probable reason why you hate it to wake up like that from your dream is because you want to stay a bit longer. and that`s no shame because i would want to be in my dreams forever. but i cannot. what i can do is to create as much as possible from my dreams to my wakefull life(that includes telepathy etc.) but try to understand your dreams, why do you dream it? ask yourself these questions every day. untill you find the answer, to find the truth inside yourself. so back to the time... the time we spend in our dreams depends on many factors and probably a number of factors we do not even know they exist. but the human brain is amazing and boundries can be blown away by our pure wil and thought. after all time is something mankind created, and i do not think mankind understood what they created. but still we do not know either. but i am going to bed now because it`s 5:33 am. good night and dream away to your universes
Balinese
I have had some really crazy dreams... none that last longer than maybe 2 days dream-time. What I think is really strange is when you dream and tell someone about it, and the next night they have the same dream. It's like karma, somehow. dark king
karma is a subject i am not familliar with i`m afraid. but when someone hears a dream his subcouncious can record it aswell and when that person goes to sleep he plays the recorded dream. at least that`s what i think, but when you tell something you could also write somethig down. like stick a piece of paper to the wall and write down something that you want to dream. best thing is to put it in one word, like a subject: flowers, read it before sleeping and try to remember what you have dreamt the next morning and if you have dreamt the same as on the paper then it would be true, that you dream what you record. maybe fun to experiment with some friends,(i`m gonna try that by the way^^) maybe you should try it aswell. thanks for the idea balinese. Ani_Freak
I've had the same dream for the longest time now. If I recall correctly, I've been dreaming the same dream since my childhood, at around 10 years old. It's a very weird, but at the same time cool dream. I'm at my home, and suddenly, and explosion. Right after that, I have a shotgun and I'm running, flying and doing like kung fu stuff. I can't really recognize the moves, but I sure dream this a lot. What changes from dream to dream is the type of enemy. One night, there were ninjas a la Foot Clan (you know, from TMNT), other night, there were like human-like insects. And I was fighting them. Weird ain't it? But I've been having this same dream over and over again since that time. And time in it just flies by. I guess that every dream lasts for like 2, 3 days tops.
Mr. Maul
Okay, I've read about half of this thread and I am completely lost. @__@; Somebody please explain to me (in laman's terms) what the heck are you guys talking about. I sort of understand, but not really. So if someone could clear up what you're talking about for me, I'm pretty sure I could join in the convo. crimsonbullet
mainly what they're talking about are dreams that last as long as novels that express every trial/ experience in their lives in one dream. I think I've had a few like that but rarely remember them. I find the shorter the dream the more bizarre they can be. Teh dreams in "midland" are simply their interpretations of the universe in a dream- under their control... dictators... I'm joking :D ... no not really. Mr. Maul
Oh...I don't think I've ever had any dreams like that. The longest dreams I ever have seem to last a couple hours of a day (or night) and rarely a day or two. What I find interesting, though, are re-occuring dreams. I have the same dream probably two or three times a year. I always forget what it's about, but about half-way through the dream, I realize it's a dream, then I take control. It's called lucid dreaming. They did a Voyager episode about it. I usually dream in the 1.5-person, sort of half in, half out of my body. It's weird. Especially when you're somewhere one minute, then the next moment you're somewhere else, and you don't realize it until about five minutes later, but hey, it's normal. One final point: Deja Vous. Does that have anything to do with dreams? I don't believe it has anything to do with previous lives, because I don't believe in that, and no, it's not the matrix. Attention everyone: The Matrix is NOT real! What is it though? About a month ago I almost had a panic attack because I had an extreme case of deja vous. It lasted for about twenty seconds. It really freaked me out. If anyone has any comments on this, please share!
