Howabout this.....

A buncha living giant robots are battling their brains out over something, but no one is shure what. After a battle, one side retreats and goes back to their base to find a new robot who wants tto join. They fill him in (which fills you in) and start training him to be part of the team. Training is inturrupted when the enemies find them and bomb the base. The leader dies so the new guy goes on a rampage and challenges the enemy leader. After a long hard battle the ..... well you pick what happens.

Stick with writing what you know, but then don't stick to it at all. ^_~ Creating a story with personal experience is excellent, but if you stick to writing only what you know, there's no way you can expand the plot. Does JK Rowling KNOW for certain that wizards go to some obscure school in London...? No.

Watching other animes and getting ideas is a good way to start off your plot as well. If you see a mini-filler event in an anime and you like that idea, run with it. Watching the news and reading articles can help you with creating a storyline. But anyways, you really have to define what kind of anime you're trying to create. You can focus around action, romance, plot, etc. Good luck. ^_^

Watch animes to develop your feel. If you want nonesense and insane, The Excel saga and FLCL are good choices. If action is the premise, DB/Z/GT are good. a very developed and engrossing feel can be found in inuyasha. It just depends on what floats your boat and who will be reading it. If you are successful, show us the finished product.

i think you should do a story on how hard it is to be an animator/cartoonist/whatever else you have in mind then fine somthing thats just not right and have an adventure trying to fix it

sorta like mega man only with pencil and paper

naturally im being sarcastic

just go with the flow and look at whats popular right now and just kinda copy it (make sure you change some things so you dont get your *** sued of)

My suggestion would be to NOT use anime as a model. Use manga, if you need to use anything at all. For the story, come up with something on your own--find out some weird and interesting fact, and branch out from it. I've used superstitions, old myths and legends, obscure religions; I mean, if you just find one thing that sparks your interest, you can make a whole world out of it! It's great! But anime and manga use different techniques. If you want it to look and feel and read authentic, you should find out how it's really done.

Yeah, but you have to think that animes have been tranlated more than mangas to a ratio of about 8 to 1. Reading manga will be good but taking an insane anime experience and making it into a manga would spark a lot of attention. People would be like,"Is that even possible?"

Myself, I've got an anime in the works, but what I do is first, just write a story. Just a regular story- put it down in pen, type it in MS Word, it doesn't matter, just write a story. You could either do it in script form, or a full-fledged story. After you've gotten all of your ideas together, then draw them. I've found that process to work quite well. (Although my anime isn't completed yet-You know, school...)

I'm writing a web novel (well, it's technically not on the web yet). Its taken me a year to come up with and reshape one small idea into a full fledged 80-chapter story. It started with me imagining a man flying. Then he was carrying a sword. As I get ideas, I jot them into wordpad or notepad. I've only briefly outlined 80 chapters in writing. I've got at least another 20 in my mind that I need to write out. I just started writing out the actual second chapter a week ago.

My point is that all you need is one idea. If you really want to make a story, it'll come to you with time. It might take a few minutes, or it might take a year bit-by-bit. It shouldn't matter, because if you really want to draw this online manga, you can wait however long it'll take you to extract a decent story from your mind.

You're not drawing this manga professionally, so you don't have to rush yourself into making it. Fred "Piro" Gallagher (maker of MegaTokyo) is probably the internet's most popular web manga artist, and he admits that he doesn't have the self-discipline to do this professionally. Writing and drawing a comic is tough. That's why Japanese manga artists have no lives, and Americans need at least two people (one to write, one to draw, and sometimes one to color everything in).

Just give it time. You'll find your story.
