May 24th, 2090

The sky filled with grey clouds, the sweet summer breeze filled with a chill, the smell of rain rolled over the land, storm season was upon the weather.

Miru sits at the base of her parent's grave. This was an everyday ritual for her, but today was different. It held of more importance. Today was the four year anniversary of Miru's parent's deaths. For long years of remorse and confusion. What had happened? Miru did not understand. A single tear trickled down her numbed face.

"I promise, I will find the man who did this to you," Miru traced the etching of her mother's name.

The sky seemed to cry along with Miru, small drops of rain danced atop of the marble tombstones of the peaceful cemetary. The breeze would send an occassional gust, forcing the weeping willow to sway and bend under the wind's hand. Miru lay a single rose on each grave and looked to the sky.

I'm assuming this takes place in Japan? If not correct me.

Atop a building, there was a spark.

Then, there was another spark.

Then another, and another, then the number of sparks grew, increasing in size as well. When finally, they grew to a large rumbling orb, and exploded. A man with gold skin, and white hair, wearing black robes stood there. He opened his eyes, and looked about.

He took a deep breath, and almost gagged. The air was disgusting, it smelled like a barn of pigs, dead pigs at that. He walked forward to the edge of the building roof, and looked down, it appeared to be a very long fall to the bottom. No matter for him.

He stepped off the edge of the building and let himself fall. Knowing he had to keep a low profile in the year 2090, he cast a spell quickly, which enabled him to be invisible for a period of time.

Then he cast another spell, which slowed his fall. He touched down on a sidewalk softly, not receiving a scratch.

He looked about. He had to find an old man, before his identity was discovered. Especially someone Randell, Adept Sorcerer considered an enemy.

A man's voice echoed in the temple as he spoke to the other fellow monks.

"We must always respect the earth, the sky, the wind, waters, and most importantly the creatures who inhabit the world today. Do on to those the way you wish to be done to you."

A small young monk at the age of 16 turned to his friend. "Do you have any clue what this guy is talking about?"

His friend responded. "Heh not really what he says never makes any sence." The two friends then begin to chuckle. They stop when they notice a fellow monk standing behind them.

"Brother Yujin. We are sorry. We did not know you were standing behind us."

"Brother Ranga, why are you making fun of our elder monk? He is nearly pointing out the path of what a monk should do in his life."

"I appoligize."

"You are forgiven." He Then walks away puzzling the two young monks. He walks into his quarters and goes out the window. It was the only way for him to sneak out without getting caught or noticed.

Miru decided she would start to head back to her grandfather's shrine before it really started to pour. She walked along the small gravel path. The pitter patter of the soft rain drops ontop of the tombstones sang a melancholy song. Miru exited the old, iron gates and walked down the city streets.

She observed the city life, cars bumper to bumper, the people crowding the streets, shouting and swearing overrode the rain. Miru shook her head and looked forward. She thought of her short cut and took to the side streets. She passed churches, small stores, and small houses. She looked over to the monk shrine and saw a young monk climbing out of a window.

"Hey, what's a monk doing sneeking out of a window?" Miru called out.

"Huh? Ack!" the monk was startled by Miru and fell out of the window.

He quickly stood up and brushed off his white robes. Miru walked up to him and folded her arms across her chest. He looked a little angered from nearly breaking his neck. A few voices from within the shrine sent a annoyed look rushing over his face.

"Thanks for blowing my cover," the young monk grabbed Miru's elbow and dragged her down the allieways.

Once they were several blocks down, they stopped in front of a park.

"What kind of a monk are you?" Miru wrenched her arm from his grasp.

"One of a kind," he smiled proudly.

The two looked at eachother for a long time. Miru shook her head and turned to walk away.

"Hey," the monk jogged up beside her.

"What?" Miru shot him a glare.

"What's your name?"

"None of your business,'' Miru continued to walk away.

Randell drew near a monk's shrine, there seemed to be something going on there. He saw two people going away from it. He hoped he wasn't to late to get the piece.

He entered the shrine undectected, for he was still under his invisibility shrowd. Now he had to find the old man with the necklace, and hope he did indeed still have it. If not, he would have to search elsewhere.

If that were the case, then a whole shrine of monks would be eradicated. He would have no problem with that.

He wondered the halls looking. This place was far larger than he expected. It would take a while to discover where he needed to go.

OOC: Okay...Sorry that I cut my finger badly and can't open it up to it's full potental.

IC:

"None of your buisness." Miru said and began to walk away.

"I don't think so." Yujin said and blocked her exit. "You just made the other monks realise I left now you are stuck with me until I go back which won't be a while my I add."

"Why.....Why you son of a..." Miru said with an angry voice.

Yujin interupted her response. "Now that wouldn't be very lady like now would it?" Yujin then smiled. There was something about this woman that he couldn't place on her. Something he somehow remembered years ago in his life that he couldn't remember now.

"Leave me alone creep." Miru said. Even though he was a creep in her eye something about him made her feel warmer than she had her entire life. "Why are you even talking to me? Isn't there some sort of law for you monks to follow like not talking to women or something like that?"

"Where did you hear something like that?" Yujin said and heard a voice coming closer. He grabbed Miru and hid in an alleyway out of the eyes of the figures drawing near. He then noticed one was looking at them and so to save his skin placed a deep soft kis on her lips without her knowing. The figure took the kiss as a young couple and went of looking for whatever it was looking for. Yujin then stopped kissing her and smiled then took off. Miru was about to stop him when she noticed he was already gone. She heard a clang and looked down to see a shiny ring with the name 'Yujin' engraved to it.

"What kind of monk is he?" Miru knelt down and took the ring into her hands.

"Yujin....That name..." Miru twirled the ring between her fingers.

She shrugged and slipped the ring down her index finger. She started to walk in the direction of her grandfather's shrine. She though of the monk named "Yujin". He was rather...different. Miru didn't know why, but his presence felt all too familiar. His smile, his eyes, his voice, what was it? Miru couldn't place a finger on it, she had felt like she had known him for a long time.

"I wonder how Grandfather is..." Miru tried to shake her akward feeling from her mind.

The rain, cold, yet relaxing, danced atop of Miru's head. The smell of fresh overpowered the slim of the city streets. The cars drowned in the symphany of pitter-patter of the rain on the tin rooftops, dumpsters, and concrete. Miru was positively soaked, but she enjoyed the cool rain over the steaming sun and humidity. She decided to walk through the park today. Children played and romped, screaming and chasing one another. This made Mir smile. Children had always warmed her cold heart. So innocent and oblivious to this cruel world. She sat on a bench for many minutes, completely lost in the bliss of children's laughter.

"Beautiful, aren't they?" Yujin appeared from nowhere and sat beside Miru.

"Yes, they are....Where did you go off to?" Miru turned to question.

"Yes, they are....Where did you go off to?" Miru turned to question.

Yujin tured to think. He was not sure what he did. "I....I went to say goodbye."

Miru looked a little puzzled. "Good bye? To who if you don't mind me asking."

"I was saying goodbye to my old life. I am no longer a follower of a monk. I am now completely devoted to avenging the death of my family. As a monk I was unable to do such a thing, but now I am a renegade and now I am free to do what I please. EHy do you ask?"

Miru started to blush. She wasn't sure if she should truly give a reason. Then she remembered something, the ring.

Randell couldn't find the necklace anywhere in the Shrine. Because of this he was quite peturbed.

He dispelled his invisibility right in front of a monk, who gave a scream of fright.

"Where is the necklace?" Randell asked coldly.

"I.. I don't know what you are talking about!" the monk replied. Randell gave a low growl and pointed his finger at the monk. From his finger a single bolt of lightning shout out and hit the monk in the forehead. Killing him instantly.

It had already dawned on him that the necklace was not in this place. Now he had to vent his rage.

Saying the proper words Randell raised his hands to the ceiling, then brought them down hard. A second later a huge fire ball fell through the ceiling in front of him.

The monks quickly became aware of the fire, and rushed to put it out. As each monk appeared, Randell would kill them in one way or another. As he made his way around the Shrine he brought forth more fireballs to destroy the complex.

Within twenty minutes the whole shrine was engulfed in flames. All the exits were blocked, preventing any surviving monks from fleeing.

Standing outside, Randell listened with pleasure to the dieing(sp) screams of the monks inside.

Then in the distance he heard sirens, giving his signal to leave, and continue his search for the necklace.

"Is this yours?" Miru held out her hand and showed Yujin the ring.

"Well, yes it is. But, how did you get it?" Yujin plucks the ring from Miru's hand.

"You dropped it when you left," Miru shrugged.

Sirens sounded in the distance. They grew louder and headed in the direction of the monk shrine. Yujin jumped to his feet and began to run, Miru followed. They reach the shrine to see it aflame, firefighters scrambled about, police officers holding a barrier so civilians wouldn't get hurt. Yujin sunk to his knees and held onto his staff, Miru stared in disbelief. She looked down and saw Yujin's eyes burst with fury.

"Who would do such a vicious act?!" his voice growled.

-3 hours later-

Firefighters began salvage and overhaul. Detectives and Fire Marshall's asked Yujin thousands of questions. They couldn't give him an answer. Yujin's fist shook.

"It's just like that day," he whispered.

"What was that?" Miru looked at Yujin questionably.

"Uh, nothing..Let's get you home," Yujin and Miru began to walk towards her grandfather's shrine.

"Today's my 18th birthday. My grandfather is throwing me a small party with our neighbors. Would you like to stay for some cake and icecream?" Miru looked at the corrupted monk.

"I don't want to intrude on a family affair," Yujin humbley spoke.

"I don't have any family other than my grandfather. You wouldn't be intruding, besides, where are you going to go? You should just take a little while to think things out," Miru shrugged.

"That would be too kind, yes, I would love to join the party," Yujin smiled," I thank you for your kindness."

Miru smirked. "Kindness" a word that was not in her vocabulary. Life had not been so kind after her parents died.

-8 minutes later-

"SURPRISE!" Miru smiles as her grandfather and his elderly neighbors held out a cake.

They began so sing "Happy Birthday", Miru blushes from the attention. She introduced Yujin, but kept the monk shrine incident under wraps. Miru's grandfather was delighted to have Yujin as a guest and gave him the grand tour of the shrine. Miru snickered as her petite grandfather dragged Yujin by the arm. Yujin, however, was polite and voluntary to be shown around. Miru watched intently, there was something about this renegade monk that felt warm and familiar.

"Thank you, Grandfather Sezuko," Yujin bowed,"Your shrine is absolutely beautiful."

"Psh, not as beautiful as my Miru," Grandfather Sezuko playfully squeezed on of Miru's cheeks.

Yujin smiled,"I stand corrected."

"Miru, my dear, I have a very important gift for you," Grandfather Sezuko hobbled over to Miru and handed her a creamy, silky sash.

It was folded several times and felt rather heavy to be a sash. Miru bowed and took her gift. She unraveled and unfolded the sash to find a necklace. It was elegant, yet simple. A heart-shaped deep red garnet dangling from a silver chain. Miru stared into the garnet and rubbed its smooth surface.

"Grandfather...where did you get this?" Miru looked up, mezmorized by the necklace.

"Let's just say it's been in the family for many generations," Grandfather Sezuko kissed his granddaughter on the forehead and took the necklace,"May I?"

Miru nodded and turned around to let her grandfather put the necklace on. She turns around to look at him, his eyes swelled with tears. She smiles softly and looks at Yujin. His face was of deep thought.

"Yujin? Are you okay?"

"Uh..yes, I could swear I've seen that necklace before," Yujin pointed.

"You look just like her..." Grandfather's voice trailed off.

"Look like who, Grandfather?" Miru turned her attention back to him.

"Um, your mother..You look just like your mother.." Grandfather Sezuko quickly walked into the other room.

-1 hour later-

"So, this is your room? Very cozy," Yujin sat his staff against the wall.

"It's okay. Please, sit down," Miru sat on her bed.

Yujin sat next to her. He looked around the room. It was clean and warm. Beiges and creams, with black accents. Miru played with the stone and began to look at it once more.

She began to get dizzy, heat crept up her neck and into her face, her vision blurred and a sudden flash of blinding light. Miru closed her eyes and quickly opened them. She blinked rapidly, her heart racing. She looks around to find herself in a forrest with whimsical creatures. They all bowed before her, everything was in slow motion. She turns to her side and sees a man...Yujin? It couldn't be..Yujin? Miru tries to call out, but her voice fell upon deaf ears.

"Miru!!" Yujin's voice echoed through her head.

He yells again and begins to shake Miru. She jolts awake and takes in a deep breath, as if she had just emerged from water. Yujin pulls her to him. Miru's body was still shaking. Her breathing was a tremble. Her body doused with sweat.

"What happened?" Miru was a little frightened.

"You just passed out. Are you okay?" Yujin brushed back strands of Miru's hair from her face.

"I saw something...I saw myself in a forrest with all these strange creatures..and I saw a man that looked like you..." Miru gasped for air.

"Sssh, it's okay. You are here now," Yujin cooed and pulled Miru's hair from her neck.

Randell found it. He had finally found the location of the necklace. He knew it was here, he could feel it. He magicked himself into the house, and began his search.

Though, the first thing he saw was an old man.

"Who are you?" the old man asked.

"Where is the necklace?" Randell asked with a stone voice.

The old man looked at Randell, and his eyes widened when it dawned on him as to who Randell was.

"You.. You've come from the past! NO!" The last part was so loud that it was sure to draw attention.

Randell swung his staff towards the old man, and when it contacted the man's skin it gave a bright flash. When the flash subsided, the old man lay in a heap on the floor.

Just then, two people ran in.

"Grandfather Sezuko!" the girl screamed. Randell looked at the girl, and saw the necklace around her neck.

"You! Queen Lita! No.. who are you?" Randell started toward the girl, when the man with her stepped forward.

"Don't even think about it!"

Randell took a step back, and with a final look at the girl, he vanished. To go back to his time.

"Grandfather.." Miru knelt beside her grandfather's lifeless body.

She cradled him in her arms and sobbed. Yujin knelt beside her and began to say a prayer for his soul.

-2 hours later-

After the police left, taking Grandfather Sezuko, Yujin carried Miru to her bed. She was drained pale. Everything that she had left in the world vanished in a breath of air. Silent tears fell from her chin as she lay on her bed. Yujin next to her brushed her hair back from her face.

"Why did that man call you 'Queen Lita'?" Yujin spoke softly.

"I don't know,'' Miru whispered.

"This may sound strange, but I've seen that man before. Years ago, on the day my parents died," Yujin lay his hand on Miru's shoulder.

She rolled over onto her back and looked up at him curiously. She was going to ask how, but figured they had both had enough stressful thoughts for the day and kept her mouth shut. She closed her eyes and sighed. She then sat up and looked into Yujin's eyes.

"Why's all of this happening?" her eyes pleaded for an answer she knew Yujin couldn't give her.

Miru looked away and felt a pulse. It wasn't of her heart, but something external. She slowly looked around for the source for this faint pulse. She heard a soft voice calling her name. Miru looked up at Yujin.

"Are you all right?" he looked questionably.

"You didn't hear it?"

"Hear what? Miru, you've just been through a terrible ordeal. You need to get some rest," Yujin leaned over to help Miru under her blankets.

She reached up and gave him a hug. He froze in shock then relaxed and wrapped an arm around Miru. The pulse came back in full force. This time, the feelings were much more violent and Yujin was affected too.

"Miru..what's..."

Silence.

-Sometime later-

"Yu..jin.." Miru's eyes flutter open.

She looks around, her vision is contorted and blurred. She sits up and rubs her eyes. Miru once again looks at her surroundings and gasps. She was in the same forrest as her vision! She frantically looks for Yujin to see him laying not too far from her.

"Yujin! Yujin, wake up!" Miru shakes him.

"Uh..my head.......What the!?" Yujin sits up.

"This is the place I was at earlier! When I had that vision! How could this happen?" Miru sat back.

"Your necklace, it's glowing," Yujin pointed at Miru's chest.

She holds the garnet in her hand, it pulsed lightly and the glowing subsided. She looked up at Yujin who had the same look of utter confusion.

Mystika sat with some younger fairies and played with them. When she heard Kilani coming towards her, she sent the children to play and stood. Her wings appeared and she began to float a few inches off of the ground. She knew was to happen.

"Did you feel that, Kilani? Did you feel the evil emerge back into our time? He's getting closer and closer everyday."

Kilani walked as Mystika flew above the ground. Kilani knew what Mystika was talking about. "Yes. We must protect the scrolls by all means. Rendall must not get the king's spirit nor should he get the queen's spirit as well. But, for some reason, their spirit is strong and active. It is as if they are channeling their spirits through another being." Kilani looked around suddenly. She felt a presence upon them. It wasn't a fairy either.

"Someone's here." Mystika had said as she stopped flying and became acquainted with the ground again.

For the first time in a long time, Tr'shiel felt free. Uninhibited by her fathers rule and constant overlooking. She had escaped the family truobles, and social power.

"Are you okay Tr'shiel?" A young short( in Tr'shiel's eyes) blonde elven figure stood beside her. The girl had sparkling blue eyes and was wearing a bright violet garmant, showing her royalty.

" I am fine, Elysar." She answered back to her. Wiping the recent memories of her past out of her head. " And how are you doing this finde day. I can't believe you're out by yourself, your mom's so protective of you."

Elysar was somewhat like Tr'shiel when she was younger. Not wanting to be the light of her parents eye. Wishing to make somethig of herself without their help and constant butting in.

"Well I told her I was coming to see you in the workshop and she had no problem." She laughed briefly and looked to the table to see which herbs Tr'shiel was working with today. "Any new potions?"

Tr'shiel remember the few herbs she was working with. Luckily she had a great many organized in cabinets since the Elves had a great many to work with.

"Well I'm using Grassroot and Willow moss to make a sort of salve but I don't have the exact measurements yet, plus I need to add another ingredient to give it a bit of fragrence. You know to calm the body."

Elysar loved to be around Tr'shiel and hang around her, but another adventure would soon tear the two away.

OOC: Let's get posting people...

A disgusting crack was heard as the limbs were torn apart, the head of the foolish hunter being constricted slowly by the demonic vines. A low gurgling sound of incomprehensible pain escaped from the hunter before his face was crushed in, blood and saliva spilling out, dripping onto the reddening ground. The vines continued to press in, eventually tearing the entire body apart into different portions, all bloodied and crushed to the extreme. The vines wavered unsteadily for a moment in place, then suddenly slipped back down underground as if it were never there.

"That's four..."

Tsukigen ticked off another finger, looking at the remains of the former hunter, now reduced to nothing but bits and pieces of flesh and bone floating around in the thinning pool of blood. He laughed grimly, then stepped out into thin air, with infallible confidence. Sure enough, a vine stretched forth from a nearby tree branch, catching his feet, and trasported him another neaby tree. From his angle, Tsukigen could best see the grotesque remains of the head, the eyeballs popped out of the skull in torturous pain.

"Hunt in my forest... I hunt you..."

Tsukigen suddenly shivered, and looked off into the far distance, his smile thinning but the manic glint resurfacing into his eyes. He cast his hands majestically, and the vines slid up the tree carrying him, positioning him high above the canopy of the forest.

"They're here."

O.C.C sorry I haven't posted until now. Been busy with work and things.

Mystika waited for something to happen. She was literally prepared for anything. When no one came out or answered Kilani's call she attempted to draw them out.

Mystika shouted," If you do not show your selves we will come in after you with every intention of killing you. So do your selves a favor and come out of hiding...NOW."

With those words said a russeling of leaves came from the trees at the right of them. Moments later a young man and woman came out of the trees with their hands up.

" Well Mystika it would seem that your threat has worked." said Kilani with a slight grin on her face.

" So it would seem." Mystika mumbled under her breath.

" Please don't atack us. We are unarmed and mean you no harm." said the young man who was wearing what looked like robes and holding a staff.

The young woman was dressed in clothing Mystika had never seen before and didn't know quite whatto make of it.

" I can see that you are unarmed (looks at them more closely) and that you don't have any provisions (sp?). Who are you and what are you doing here?" Mystika asked with a kind of sterness in her voice.

"What? Are you saying you are from another time? How is that possible?" Kilani looked confused, as did the others.

"I will not harm you," Mystika smiled a little more friendlier.

Kilani picked up on Mystika's gesture and lowered her guard. Mystika walked up to Miru and Yujin and looked them over.

"Well, it's really normal back..well...in the future," Miru shrugged.

"And you. Are you a monk?" Mystika circled Yujin.

Miru shook her head and looked to Kilani. Mystika walked to her side and turned around.

Mystika watched Miru as she looked down at her knecklace. When the girl looked back her eyes were full of sadness.

" Will you give it back to me? I won't let see it if you won't give it back." Miru said matter of factly.

" I promise that I will give it back to you. I just want to see it for a moment." Mystika reasurred her kindly.

Miru thought about it for a moment then ,against her better judgement, she took off the knecklace and handed it to Mystika.
Mystika stared at as she turned the it in her hands. After a while she looked up at Kilani and nodded her head in agreement. She then turned to Miru.

" My dear will you be so kind as to tell me where you got this from?" Mystika said rather sweetly.

" Well today just happened to be my birhtday and that was a present from my....(tears start to well up in her eyes, but she holds them back) ..from my grandfather." she finished the sentence in a whisper.

Mystika looks at Kilani before turning back to Miru with understanding in her eyes.

" Something or someone has taken him away from you and that is why you wanted to make sure that I gave this back. Didn't you?" Mystika said with an understanding gentleness.

Miru nods her head and stares at Mystika in amazement.

" I will also bet that he is not the first person that you have lost in your life either." Mystika said knowingly.

" Y-y-yes, b-but how did you know?" Miru said in shock.

" My dear Miru I am very old and have been around that path enough times to know when someone has lost someone they hold most dear. (she walks over to Miru and grabs the two ends of the knecklace) Now instead of asking you how your grandfather died or who the other people wee who died. (she said she reclasped the knecklace around Miru) All I'm going to say is that you both are welcome to accompany us and once you have both rested and are ready we will figure out how to get you back home." Mystika said these final words as she gently pulled Miru's hair from underneith the knecklace and let it flow lightly back against her back.

Lets bring this back to the first page.

Randell paced in his chambers. He was gathering his thoughts, for they were currently quite jumbled together.

It was quite apparent to him that the two children were in his time period now. It meant that they were hear to stop him more than likely. He would have to prevent that from happening. If he were to be killed, terrible things were sure to happen. After all, he did put a spell upon himself and the land, that guaranteed him to live as long as the land around him did.

(It will be noted, that without the interference from the two younglings, in 500 years there would be a earthquake that destroys the land he put the spell upon. That is what would keep him from existing in the "Modern" time. Even though the land would later repair itself, the spell was broken when he died.)

Only one person could counter the spell, and she was trapped in a rock. A rock that he needed to promise his survival. He needed some sort of help, a hunter perhaps, a hunter that could hunt down the two children and kill them. Then bring the jewel to him.

"Yes.. that is what I need," Randell said happily to himself. He went to his Pool of Sight, and began to scour the land for someone good enough to help him. His looking paid off, for he saw an elf. An elf that just made a kill in a forest, and the kill was a hunter.

"He will do just fine."
