Biida
Will You Be My Girl, by Jet. A friend of mine absolutely loves them, and he's got me hooked now. Such an addicting song, and so fun to play. >.>;
Semjaza
I absolutely hate Jet. It's one of the most derivative bands I've ever heard... I mean, I can name a classic rock song they've ripped off for every song on that album. If other people like them, that's cool. I don't heh.
I kind of like that song, despite the guitar solo sounding oddly familiar (cough Jimmy Page cough), but I am not a big fan of the rest of their album. Anyway, I am currently listening to Hoover by Holopaw. They came recomended by Semjaza Azazel and so far I think they are pretty good, although I really haven't heard enough of their songs to make a fair assessment.
Semjaza
Oh well heh. There's some obvious AC/DC rips on there too. Holopaw is great. I'd say you should check out anything I mentioned in that Best of 2003 thread. Pavement, Death in Vegas, The Coral, Primitive Radio Gods and The Darkness seem like bands you might be into as well. I'm currently listening to Young Americans by David Bowie. It's an awesome song. Nice gospel sounding back vocals and great use of saxophone. The version on Best of Bowie is actually the single version which is notably shorter. I'm playing the full version, which is far better I'd say. Like all of his songs it just has a great story within it. Great song.

Semjaza
Pushing thru the market square, so many mothers sighing News had just come over, we had five years left to cry in News guy wept and told us, earth was really dying Cried so much his face was wet, then I knew he was not lying I heard telephones, opera house, favourite melodies I saw boys, toys electric irons and T.V.'s My brain hurt like a warehouse, it had no room to spare I had to cram so many things to store everything in there And all the fat-skinny people, and all the tall-short people And all the nobody people, and all the somebody people I never thought I'd need so many people A girl my age went off her head, hit some tiny children If the black hadn't a-pulled her off, I think she would have killed them A soldier with a broken arm, fixed his stare to the wheels of a Cadillac A cop knelt and kissed the feet of a priest, and a queer threw up at the sight of that I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlour, drinking milk shakes cold and long Smiling and waving and looking so fine, don't think you knew you were in this song And it was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor And I thought of Ma and I wanted to get back there Your face, your race, the way that you talk I kiss you, you're beautiful, I want you to walk We've got five years, stuck on my eyes We've got five years, what a surprise We've got five years, my brain hurts a lot We've got five years, that's all we've got That is Five Years by David Bowie. It's the lead track on Ziggy Stardust. In my opinion, it's one of the best songs ever written. It's great on its own, but it gets very emotional at the end... which I think is its high point. Whiteblaze
Right now I?m listening to ?Face To Face? by Daft Punk and next will be ?Say You?ll Be There? by Spice Girls. ?Face To Face? is one of those happy songs, but really all of Daft Punk?s songs sound happy. This song will not make you frown or cry; you won?t imagine gray, cloudy skies (if anything, blue with fluffy white clouds!) or feel depressed while listening to it. It?s actually a favorite of mine. Hear are the lyrics: "Face To Face" What's going on? Could this be my understanding? It's not your fault I was being too demanding I must admit it's my pride that made me distant All because I hoped that you'd be someone different There's not much I know about you Fear will always make you blind But the answer is in clear view It's amazing what you'll find face to face! I turned away because I thought you were the problem Tried to forget until I hit the bottom But when I faced you in my blank confusion I realized you weren't wrong, it was a mere illusion It really didn't make sense Just to leave this unresolved It's not hard to go the distance When you finally get involved face to face!
MaggieMehve
Right now i'm listening to the ending song of .hack//SIGN called Yashashii Yoake. Here it is translated in English (Its originally in Japanese, well...of course O.o) Searching for eternity, you are a frivolous dreamer Clinging to unreliable dreams. Where are you going? Searching for the key to open twilight, I cry, Unable to reach the moon's shadow. Where am I going? Even though secrets are lost in our eyes, We will never unfasten our arms from each other. Pale moon of January, hide the colors of the sunrise. The gentle dawn of a night that should not end. Because of love's heaviness, painfully close, The heart no longer mine cried for freedom. When shining things existed only in dark places, I gazed out the small window into the distance. Pale moon of January, sinking into infinity. The gentle dawn of a love that should not end. Pale moon of January, hide the colors of the sunrise. The gentle dawn of a night that should not end.

Well while I'm here, I'm listening to: L'Arc~en~Ciel - THE GHOST IN MY ROOM "The Best of c/w" had a terrible design, I hope nobody got paid for making it. I'm reconsidering paying for it instead of buying all their individual singles (much more expensive, but much cooler).

"The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel c/w" did have a bad design, but it went with the other "The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel" albums which were simultaneously released. I only have their singles from "ZH lose control" to "Pieces" so you can see I'd have my work cut out for me. I'd like to get all of "The Best of L'Arc-en-Ciel" albums, but that's ridiculous. I guess eventually I will, but it's frustrating when you want to just grab a collection immediately. Who says money can't buy happiness? Somewhat random, but did you see their performance at MS Super Live 2003? Can't wait until February. Yeah, I did manage to see that, I was so relieved that Hyde could still sing normally (after all that growling and yelling he was doing for his solo career...) I hate these type of lives where they just use pre-recorded instruments though.
Biida
Currently, I have "Soul To Squeeze" playing, by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I've enjoyed their music for quite a while, but I find the prices for their CDs are ridiculously expensive around here. But during a post-Christmas sale, I managed to pick up their Greatest Hits album for $16, compared to the $31 it was originally selling for. Mind you, it's Canadian money. So the prices are a bit higher than they would be in America.

The (Sic) Shape
I'm currently listening to "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath from their Reunion Album, which is a live CD and is pretty much the most recent, asides from greatest hits CDs or Tribute Albums. Problem with this song is that's its too short, only about 2 minutes, but its a great song.

Snufkin
Well, lately I have been listening to a lot of Jpop music (because some of it just so awesome ^_^). The current songs I have switching off between are: Hybrid Rainbow Little Busters and Instant Music All of which are by The Pillows ^_^
Semjaza
I have a few Pillows CDs and I'd have to say that Thank You, My Twilight is still my favorite CD as well as my favorite song. They really transcend so many ideas I have about Japanese music... specifically because they don't sound dated lol.
Snufkin
I haven't been a fan of The Pillows that long but that is only because I only just discovered how wonderful their music is. The moment I get enough money (which sadly will probably be ages from now >.>) I am going to purchase a few of their CDs. For now I am happy for the few mp3s I have ^_^ *hugs her computer*

Whiteblaze
Nice, list, Leh! I actually like a lot of songs on there! Myself making a list wouldn't be such a good idea, though. Right now, I'm listening to "4" by Aphex Twin. This is one of my favorite songs because there are no words so you don't get distracted by someone singing. To me it sounds really beautiful at some points and throughout it has this nice beat to it. This is definitely a song you can ?Sing the do song? to, if you wanted.
