Midgar. A city, or a metropolis. The slums. The 'under-belly' of Midgar. So it is here that we begin. The slums themselves in fact are even bigger and more complex than the Upper City. Nobody remembers the names of the different sections, so it is with this that the slums are divided into 8 parts, known as 'sectors'. Wall Market also centralises the slums, but this bustling street shows mild importance to this beginning we are at now. From all of it's lively activity, Midgar is now sleeping. So here we are, at Sector 7. The seedy occupations have just sparked up their nocturnal ways as the inhabitants hurry onto what homes they have, hoping that they will get their safely. After all, it is everyone for themselves. However the bar is running a few minutes late of closing time. What could the owners be waiting for?

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Shinra Headquarters...

"So, what?'' A young, stunning, blonde woman dressed in scarlet spoke smirking. "You mean you can't possibly be stressing over having a crack down on Sector 7 Heidegger?"

"Hwarghahaha!" Leant backwards in his leather chair, a tanned, chubby man, ladened in a casual suit with pitch black hair, sideburns and beard to match laughing hysterically. "Me? Stressing? You can't possibly be degrading me can you?"

"Oh no not at all. I'm just questioning you and your contradictory emotions on this topic." Purred the attractive woman.

"Contradictory? Oh you mean because I am asking to send some SOLDIER down to crack down Sector 7 and asking the President of what are budget of this operation is?" Replied the man with a deep, opera-like voice smiling at the challenge the woman was giving him.

"No, just you seem to be a little flustered of the consequences of your own decisions. If I had it my way we'd blow the whole of the slums to smithereens and be gone of this hinderance." Spoke the woman raising her voice angrily while slamming her fists on the gigantic, oak-varnished table many well-dressed people sat around.

"Oh yes, if you had it your way you'd..." Heidegger was interrupted during his stand-up from his comfortable seating. From the voice he trembled and sat down glaring at the woman.

"That's enough out of both of you." Spoke a mysterious, firm voice.

"Yes, I apologise President". Replied both the woman and Heidegger simulatenously.

"The fact of the matter is, there's been a rise of activity in Sector 7 and we cannot tolerate any more of this being 'over-looked'. It won't be a long and strenuous operation, just a thorough search of the area." The President then stood up by supporting himself on the head of the table temporarily and began to pace up and down infront of the huge window that overlooked a part of the circular Midgar.

The room itself was ladened with scarlet velvet curtains with a rustic, yet modern sense to it. The borders of the walls were gold, and the walls were a mix between a light purple and mahogany colour. Portraits of President Shinra were scattered parallelling eachother on opposite sides of the walls while a huge table sat in the middle, with around 9 people sat around it, all on large leather chairs. A mat with gold embroidery made way for the huge wooden doors, slamming whenever they were closed. The huge glass window gave a delightful view of darkened sky scrapers with neon lights flashing on and off like broken stars, losing the fillament in their bulbs. This with a blue and white patrol helicopter using a huge torch to see in the shinra building. Security was a necessity in a meeting such as this, not only were the vents screwed on tightly but the glass was made bullet proof especially for this night.

The President was a man of a small size, quite chubby but this figure gave a sense of authority. As he walked, his hands were wrapped tight behind him, each within each palms. He was dressed in a blue suit like Heidegger, but his blazer was buttoned with a red and gold tie protuding the the white-shirt covered chest. His trousers were of a matching colour and nature while his golden hair and overly-polished black shoes were the only items of clothing that contrasted with his dress-ware.

He turned and spoke, "I would like to introduce Professor Hojo to you all. He is the one carrying out the experiments on those that show resistance, I assume you will show him the same respect as you give me."

A man with a black pony tail bent forward, dressed in a white lab-coat, trousers, black shoes and glasses hunched forward and nodded, a permanent smirk on his face.

"You have all met Reno, leader of the Turks. He's the one with his colleagues who will be carrying out security." Continued the President, "this concludes this meeting, you are dismissed."

Everyone within the room excluding the President lifted themselves gently and walked calmly without speaking out of the huge doors into the the building complex.

''Fools.'' Spoke the president quietly as he turned to look out of the huge window once again.

Back to Sector 7

Sector 7 was quiet tonight. The occasional slam of a door could be heard, aswell as hurried footsteps from those who want to get home quickly and safely, but apart from all this, it was unusually quiet. The old weapons store wasn't giving off test gun shots, nor was the banging of those training upstairs of lifting crates giving off any sounds. It must've been closed, or so the man stood outside the saloon like doors thought.

This man was dressed very casually and plainly with a white shirt torn, covered by a dark blue shirt with the cuffs rolled up. This was probably deliberate as he did not want to attract too much attention, or so it would be wise to do. His hair was dark brown with the fringe spiked upwards as were his eyes. A young looking man with a kind face just stood there looking around awkwardly, this was until he called out a 'thanks' to the bar keepers of 7th Heaven and holstered his brown bag over his shoulder, he then took a few steps and jumped off the few wooden steps that led into the building. After landing on the dirt he brushed himself down and charged off clumsily past the item store and past the weapons store, past the junk heap and finally into an alley that led off from he back of 7th Heaven. He really did not plan on encountering Johnny. Fortunately enough, Leo's 'house' could be found in this alley.

Placing his bag down beneath his feet for security, he looked around to check that the coast was clear and reached into his black pockets for his key, followed by him inserting it into the small slot that acted as the key-hole. Without a twist, the door opened creakily and the man immediately kicked his bag in and slammed the door behind him, the door itself looked like it was going to fall off of it's hinges. However he immediately knocked a piece of wood down to lock the door which was connected to the wall and the door once fallen. The man breathed in whatever breath head left inside him and leant against the door. Adrenaline pulsating through his veins.

This man was Leo Morton. A man of kindness, yet sincere in his views. And there was only one thing he desired... freedom. Leo ran his fingers through his hair and took off his shirt to be left with a white, torn T-Shirt on top. Leo's home was incredibly small. The main room consisted of a table with two wooden chairs splayed out, a T.V giving out bright colours and a loud, yet muffled voice as the Midgar news broadcast was being made, a hung leather jacket with a brand name trying to sport some support to SOLDIER and clothes laid neatly in a pile. The bedroom would simply only consist of a small bed hidden behind a curtain, embedded into the walls while the toilet and tiny kitchen would be found linking to the main room. It wasn't anything special, it was bland, but it was home.

A little bark could be heard and out from the curtain flew a small, yet incredibly cute puppy landing harshly into Leo's arms, licking his face ceaselessy, it was Maximillion. Luckily Leo was sitting down and staring into the small televesion screen at the time, otherwise the puppy would've smacked straight into the hollow, thin walls.

"He he he, hey there little guy. Have a good day?" Leo smiled warmly at his only companion, yet no sign of reply was made as Maximillion had charged off in the direction of his food bowl. "Feeding time eh?"

Leo painfully stood up and moved over to the cupboard to grab a tin of pet food. For a slummer, Leo definitely stocked up on Maximillion's food. The gentle jazz tune that played now on the T.V screen until Leo stopped motionlessly and turned his head to see where the knock at the door was coming from...

Westan knocked on Leo's door a little more loudly, hoping that he wasn't disturbing the man. In the next few moments, many thoughts were racing through Westan's head. His bottom lip began to twitch as of its own accord, due to the deep scar tissue that amde up most of it.

"Who-Who is it?" Leo called to the door, leaning against it heavily, in case it was a thief trying to case his house. Maximillion was looking at the door curiously, with a slight wag in his little puppy tail. Leo thought, If Maximillion doesn't sense anything, maybe I should just peek out to see who it is and what they want. With that thought finished, Leo slowly, and quietly, moved the piece of wood from the door and opened it slightly.

"May I help you?" Leo inquired.

Westan took a deep breath and started to speak slowly. "You...made...a...speech...bar..."

"Yes...I see you've heard it...Would you like to come in?"

Westan nodded and moved closer to the door, and held his hands up in a sign of peace. Leo gradually opened the door for Westan, and once Westan was in, slammed it back in place and returned the piece of locking wood. Westan smiled at Leo...but due to his scar tissue, only his eyes twinkled with his true good intentions.

"Please, please, sit down somewhere, I was just feeding Maximillion, I'll be with you in a moment."

Westan sat down on the couch and stared at the television, feeling extremely ackward since he didn't know how he was going to communicate witht his stranger...this Leo..this man who wanted freedom just as much as he.

"So you heard my little speech huh? Well, I'm glad someone was listening, it shows not everyone down here in the slums is completely criminal."

Westan grunted in reply, as if to say, I know what you mean. Suddenly, Westan got an idea, he could write to Leo. Hopefully, Leo would know how to read, since Westan knew nothing about, he would just have to find out on his own. Reaching into his pocket, Westan pulled out a small well-worn piece of chalk, about as thin as his middle finger, and a small piece of paper, once a wrapper for some alcoholic beverage.

Westan wrote My name is Westan Gruffield. I want to help you stop Shinra..they are wrong! Little did Westan know that Leo was right behind him. When Westan looked around he didn't see Leo and became confused for a moment.

"Yes, Shinra is wrong Westan...everyone deserves freedom."

With a slight jump, Westan turned around to look at Leo a surprised look on his face. Leo could move very silently...otherwise, Westan would have known when he moved. Deciding to wait on Leo to take action with the conversation, Westan removed the two miner's hammers from his back sheaths, placed them on the floor by his feet, and settle deeper into the couch.

Leo walked around the couch and sat down next to Westan, where there was an awkward silence. Westan just looked at Leo patiently, knowing that when the man was ready, he would figure something out. Because for some strange reason, Westan felt a sense of loyalty and trust in Leo that he had never felt in anyone before. Almost as if no matter what, you could depend on Leo.

OOC: The indigo text is Leo, and everything else is just going to be crimson, since I decided that will be my charas color in this RP.

Lavie Silvana strolled down the streets of Sector 7, her hands shoved deep into the pockets of her cream-colored coat. She was an unremarkable, well-built woman with striking blue eyes. Lavie wore a practical-looking pair of glasses, and often reached up to smooth her dark and slightly disheveled mane of hair.

Though she was whistling softly, she certainly wasn't admiring the view; every building within view was filthy and dilapidated. After a moment or two, her cheerful whistling ceased. She sighed and adjusted her glasses before briefly glancing back at the shop where she'd worked every day for the past five years. Her employer had decided to close early today, and so here she was, an energetic young woman with absolutely nothing to do.

She could go home, but her flat was in a rather depressing state. Messy, musty, and filled with books and dust bunnies, it was far from comfortable. Lavie was simply happy to have a steady income and a home of her own; in the slums, few people could lay claim to either of those commodities. For once, she wasn't in the mood to socialize, either--she'd been schmoozing with customers for hours upon end.

What to do? She didn't feel much like returning to that bar--7th Heaven, or whatever it was called. She had listened to Leo's speech with mild curiousity and a growing sense of unease. Lavie was satisfied with her life.... not exactly happy, but content to continue as she had for most of her adult life. And yet his words had reminded her that she was still rather young--she should still be full of fire. Frowning, she drew her coat more closely around her body, glaring fiercely at anyone who dared to give her a second look. She didn't wish to be troubled by any budding teenage muggers tonight.

Lavie stared intensely at the crumbling sidewalk as she wound her way down an elaborate, utterly random path, winding in and out of various alleyways, and occasionally ducking through dark side streets and abandoned buildings. She was, in fact, quite surprised to find herself standing outside Leo's door, and equally startled to realize that she'd already begun to knock.

Rasanak hated late nights at the mines. You never know what's going to come out of the darkness in front of you. The owners of the mine, Shinra, left at about six in the evening, turning off all of the lights in the mine. Unfair, yes, but Shinra did not want to waste its precious power on worthless miners. Slummers.

The enforcers (Shinra guards) stayed at the mine, making sure the miners did not leave until ten, the time they could then make their way home. There were about two-hundered of them looking after about 1000, ill-equipped miners. Revolt was out of the question, every enforcer had a sub-machine gun and grenades and they could slaughter every single miner with ease if they wanted to.

Tonight was particularly bad because they were mining their way into an underground lake, used by Shinra to dump past waste into. But, now that Mako Power was being used to generate the city's electricity, the lake was sealed off for a long time. Tonight the miners drilled through the thick stone wall dividing their mining tunnel and the toxic lake on the other side.

Rasanak, along with his team of miners, was one of the first to enter this large cavernous expanse. At first, an indescribeable smell hit them, making everyone cough and gag for air. Rasanak even saw one young teenager vomit over the floor. This was no normal gas that everyone was inhaling now, it was most probably toxic and it would proabably kill some of the less-hardened miners, but Shinra didn't care.

The rock that now surrounded Rasanak as he wandered around the cave was stained a rainbow-like colour with a green tinge. Years of eutrophication in the lake had led to some kind of build up of malignant toxins in the air that had made even the walls dangerous to touch with bare hands.

As he approached the dark green coloured lake, illuminated by dim miners' torches, he noticed a few bubbles surfacing in the centre of the lake. He was not sure if anyone had seen this, but he dismissed it as a rogue bubble coming up from the bed of the lake. His team followed.

Suddenly he thought, nothing could live in a lake polluted with a complex mix of toxic chemicals. Nothing that needs to live and breathe like a mammal anyway, whatever had made that bubble was not human and it was definately not a fish. But, strangely to his dismay, the lake's surface remained still and stagnant.

The teenager who had vomited earlier wandered close to the water's edge. It seemed calm, the glossy surface reflecting the boy's greasy face like a green mirror. He carelessly kicked a rock into the fetid pool making a quiet splash that resounded sonorously around the cathedral-like cavern.

A set of bubbles hit the surface of the lake, sending small ripples in all directions. A dark shadow glided under the water swiftly towards the boy. He did notice the dark patch in the water until it grew in size. It grew and erupted from the lake, sending toxic liquids flying everywhere. Rasanak turned his head to see the tumult: a gigantean, dragon-like head staring angrily at the boy. It reared back and let a screech ring through the caverns and caves of the whole mine. Even the guards outside heard it.

In a split second the boy was in the beast's jaws, writhing and screaming loudly. The miners stood, motionless at this horrific sight as the monster dropped the boy into toxicated lake, which produced an acidic hiss of a noise.

Rasanak: Holy fuck..

By now, the guards had noticed the commotion and they were running to now, telling everyone to evacuate the mines. As the miners ran, they heard shots, screeching, and shouting as the guards attempted to dispatch the beast. Anything in their way is worth getting rid of. Anything.

Soon Rasanak, his team and a load of other miners reached the entrance to the mines. Two enforcers stood blocking the way, the huge metal door locked by a button they both stood in front of.

Guard 1: We're not letting you go, it's not time for you to go yet.

Guard 2: Get back to work, now!

Miner: There's a monster!

Miner: Killed a miner!

Miner: The other guards--

Guard 2: A likely story, now get the fuck back to work now before we have to use some physical force.

Both guards brought attention to the fact that they had guns and miners didn't by cocking them loudly. The crowd seemed to quieten down a little, but Rasanak wanted to go. He wanted all of the miners to be allowed to go.

What was happening now was rare occurance, one that had never happened in this mine, but in others. Rasanak had heard that none of the miners were allowed to go and they were killed by a number of monsters that invaded the mine through a tunnel that led from an undiscovered dumping ground.

Rasanak: Let us go, or we'll all die; even you!

Guard 1: We have orders. And they ar--

Rasanak had had enough, he had already taken out one of his hefty hammers and swung it hard into the first, taller guard's face, sending blood and bits of nose everywhere. This guard stumbled back, crying out in pain.

The other guard seemed to be slower and had only just brought his gun up to Rasanak when he brought his hammer crashing down into his skull, killing him instantly. The corpse slumped against the wall, bleeding profusely.

Suddenly Rasanak heard another cry of pain and spun round to see another miner stooped over the first guard. He apparently was about to shoot Rasanak, but the miner had fixed that with a sledgehammer. Rasanak winced at the sight before him, before hurridly muttering thank you to the miner.

Seeing nothing else to do in the mine, ever again, he put the hammer back in its holder on his leg. Thinking out a brief plan, he took the shorter guard's gun from the floor and put it over his right shoulder and across his chest with the strap.

He hit the door-open button with an angry, clenched fist and turned to the miners whilst the heavy, titanium door completed its mechanical whirrs and lifted, showing them all freedom. With an "are-you-with-me" sort of smirk, he turned quickly and ran out in the direction of his house.

It took the other miners a few seconds to make their decision, and soon the heavy thud of mining boots filled Sector 2.

Ruben sat at the bar, enjoying his 'free' drink. Grinning at the shopkeeper, Ruben watched him avoid his gaze. Looking over his shoulder, Ruben checked the streets outside for any guards. None.

After a few hours, Ruben was almost off-his-face. Blearily, his head hanging in his hands, he listened to some young man talking about escaping. Some, sobre part of his mind must have comprehended it because once the man stood up and left, Ruben followed him. Not sure whether he wanted to talk, mug or kill the man, Ruben slipped through the shadows, trailing the man.

As the man went up some steps, Ruben finally tripped over. Luckily the slamming of the door muffled his fall. As Ruben lay there in the damp gutter, he despised himself and his drinking. Just a few metres to the door.

Lying there, he was passed unnotice by a young man with a grotesque scar down his jaw. Ruben lay there, and eventually pulled himself up. Leaning on the wall for support, he tottered over the bare space between each alley wall. Stumbling up the steps, he banged the flat of his palm against the door.

Once, twice.

He heard voices and movement inside, and then a suspicious voice asked

"Who are you? What do you want?"

[OOC: Uuh, Dagger. Sorry, I forgot about your post. Shall I go first, or shall you? Just make it so... that you went past unnoticed by me. I passed out or something -.-]

Kon walked down the main street of Sector 7 almost with a skip and a hop in his step. He had just heard Leo's speech and totally agreed with it. But now was not the time to worry about that sort of thing.
Tonight was the anniversary of when he first took up the apprenticeship for "all wannabe blacksmiths".
Tonight Kon was going to the local nightclub for....well....it's best left unmentioned.
Kon walked in to the nightclub, flewing his muscles as he walked past a particularly attractive woman. She fluttered her eyelashes flirtingly {is that even a word?}.
"Hello, what have we here? What's your drink, miss?" he asked the woman, taking her hand and kissing the back of it. She fluttered her eyelashes again.
"Umm....I--I...." she stuttered, getting flustered.
"Don't worry about it, do you want me to order for you?"
She nodded, the eyelashes didn't stop either.
"Uh, two gin'n'tonics thanks," he called to the barman.
The woman managed to pull herself together to speak. "Did you hear the speech that man...Leo, I think his name was...anyway...did you hear it?"
"Hmm? The speech? Yeah! Of course!"
"What'd you think??"
"Oh, I totally agreed with him! I mean, that Shinra Corp. has taken so many people's lives for their research....and all that stuff they've been making the miners do. There're monsters in those mines that they're working in!"
"I know....it's so horrid of them! They shouldn't do that to people!"
Kon nodded to the barman as he brought over the drinks.
Kon took a sip from his drink, then looked at the woman before him. She was so beautiful....he had a feeling they'd met before, but couldn't remember her name.
"May I ask your name? A woman as beautiful as you shouldn't go unnamed" he said, slipping in a little of the charming grin the girls loved.

OOC: Does any of the girls participating in this RPG want their character to be the one at the nightclub with Kon? (Did that sentence even make sense?)
If not, I'll just make it up...I'm kinda tired at the moment.
It would give the characters a chance to meet up early in the RP though (obviously).

Sitting slone at a corner table in the 7th Heaven, Arik shuffled and layed out his deck of playing cards. Solitaire, a game of one; just the way he liked it. As he sipped his drink, idly flipping and moving the piles of cards on the table, Arik listened intently to the conversations going on around him. Most of it was slurred, drunken talk, but there was one man... One man with something of interest to say, and Arik listened.

Black jack on red queen, red ten on black jack... Arik wondered if this guy--Leo, he had said his name was?--was for real or if he, too, was being influenced by the bar's strong alcohol. It was hard to tell, but Arik decided to make it his business to find out. If this Leo character really was serious, he might just prove to be useful.

Slipping quietly out of the bar a little before closing time, Arik found himself a good hiding spot and waited. Sure enough, out came Leo, strolling around back behind the 7th Heaven and down an alley. Following in the shadows a ways behind, Arik watched as he unlocked the door to a small, rundown house and entered quickly. Surveying the house's markings and surroundings, Arik made a mental note of its location.

Waiting a moment longer, Arik watched as another man came up to the door and knocked. A miner, he judged from the two great hammars on the man's back, and one of the others who had been at the bar during Leo's little talk. Leo let him in after a moment, the door was closed once more, and silence prevailed again.

Interesting, Arik thought to himself. Seems I wasn't the only one to notice that guy. Quickly stealing away to his current shelter (Arik had a number of small, secret locations around the city where he stayed), he layed down to sleep. He would have to get an early start if he wanted to keep an eye on Leo, and that was just what he planned to do. Arik wanted to see just what this fellow had in mind before introducing himself.

So it was with this that Leo finally began to feel comfortable with Westan's presence. He seemed a nice enough fellow, one that could be trusted by the looks of things, well not from appearance but from this, there was a soft core to the man. Returning to the wonky cupboards, Leo pulled open a drawer, took out a rusty knife and struggled with cutting the top off as Maximillion waited, wagging his tail anxiously.

Westan reached out his hand and smiled, a gesture for Leo to pass it to him so he could attempt it. As Maximillion wandered over to Westan and glared lovingly at his smile, Leo pulled over a wooden chair and began to sit until a second knock at the door came. This time more gentle than Westan's, however, Leo wasn't going to take any chances, and neither was Westan. Westan finished the cutting hurriedly, lowered the can down to Maximillion instead of the bowl of which the puppy feasted on and then put forward the knife in the door's direction. At first, Leo with his back pressed against the door, felt a bit nervous at Westan's reaction but realised he was going to support Leo.

Plucking up his courage, Leo called out nervously," Who... who's there?"

There was a long pause until a gentle voice of a young female replied, "Uh... erm. Is this the residence of Leo Morton?"

Shocked at it being a female, Leo's heart warmed until he immediately regained his defensiveness. "Yes! And what does it have to do with you?"

"Well I overheard you talking in 7th Heaven, and well, erm, I was quite curious and for your views."

Leo looked at Westan anxiously who seemed to have lowered the knife, signalling no sign of a threat. So gradually, Leo unlocked the door and opened it slowly to see a very attractive, smart looking woman. A rare occurance to find in the slums. The woman smiled warmly, bowed and took two steps in until a rugged man came charging next to her, anger, longing and frustration conveyed in his face at the same time. Leo's immediate reaction was to pull the woman in and slam the door, leaving the rough looking man in the alley. Adrenaline again, pumping in his veins.

With a scream of terror, the woman flew onto he couch of which Westan was sat, but Westan was not there, he was next to Leo with his hand on Leo's shoulder, and the other clutched onto one of his hammers.

"I'll... take... care... of this," murmered Westan.

Leo opened his mouth to speak but Westan was already out the door and squaring up to the man who terrified both the woman and Leo. The man showed know sign of fear, he was obviously very drunk, as a man of Westan's build and height would scare many if it was an act of aggresion.

"Yeah? What the hell do you want?" Spoke the stranger. He was clearly in need to speak to Leo and attempted to barge pass Westan who countered this with a grab on his shoulder.

"Let him go, it's okay." Sighed Leo dejectedly. Obeying, Westan unleashed his grip and let the man walk in front of Leo.

"Yeah, I heard you over the bar, and I want in..." Slurred the drunkard.

"Well before I let you walk into my home, I want to know your name." Spoke Leo with authority beaming through him.

"You can call me Ruben. So can I help or what?"

"Oh, erm, well, I guess so." Replied Leo as he stepped aside to let the man past whom eyed up the woman.

Westan seemed reluctant as he enjoyed the peace inside Leo's home but followed the man and stood with his back to the door, after Leo had walked in and closed it. Leo grabbed the chair he was going to sit on previously and sat down, allowing Maximillion to jump onto his knees and nest into them to sleep. Simultaneously, Leo apologised to the woman who was splayed on the couch scared, while rubbing his hands through his pet's fur.

"I'm very sorry about that... erm, what's your name again?"

"Lavie, Lavie Silvana." Replied the woman turning her head to Leo's direction. Still obviously frightened.

"Listen, I'm not going to harm you, nor am I going scare you as much as I already have. My name is Leo, Leo Morton. And this here is Westan whom I just met earlier." Leo signalled in Westan's direction, who replied with a comfortable nod.

"Yeah so? We obviously know who you are, just get on with what you plan on doing." Spoke Ruben abruptly.

"Well if you all make yourselves comfortable, and we don't have any more interruptions, I'll begin. I'm fed up with living in this dump. I want out, but I can't do it alone. I need people willing to leave here to come with me and escape Midgar. I want to see the new world, but as you can see on the television, we're going to need some, well, plans..." Leo spoke as everyone turned their heads to the screen.

News Reporter:News Just In from the Shinra headquarters itself. Mine complex in Sector 2 contained a strong revolt from the miners to the Shinra Guards. It is rumored that a team charged down the tunnels demanding to the exit guards to let them free. Politely the guards replied stating that they would not be paid for the hours they would be missing, and an uncalled for attack from the 'leader' of the group killed one of the guards in one blow, making use of his own mining tools. The rest were then slaughtered like their predecessor and the group broke free, no traces have been left except for a bloodied sledg hammer that will be analysed by Professor Hojo himself. In consequence to these actions, Sectors 2, 5 and 7 will be searched for any of these violent culprits. Take caution if approached by anyone suspicious. Shinra news...out.

"I find that very hard to believe. Well there you go, our fast task has just been made harder. But I'm afraid, four people will not be enough. We need supplies plans and knowledge. And most of all, how are we going to get out? And what are we going to do after? Shinra seems to be on the verge of battle with other continentsd of the Planet, or so I hear. So are you in, or out?" Leo placed Maximillion gently down and stood up, surveying the three people who had made themselves comfortable in his home, well Lavie didn't seem too comfortable at all.

OOC: Sorry I'm late, all.

Tristan looked around the street as he walked by at a slow pace. He was carefully examining the gutters and junk piles nearby for some kind of useful trash. On his way past, he thought he spotted some part he was looking for, or a nice metal or something, and without a second thought dove into the junk, scraping frantically for it. He stopped as he began to get up, thinking of what he had just done.
"Shit." He said aloud, laughing without showing the slightest trace that he was amused. He was sickened. Reduced to this, jumping into trash heaps trying to make a living, like some kind of sewer rat.

Wincing, he got up and resumed his slow walk as though nothing had happened. He grinned slightly as his heavy jacket brushed against a large, unbandaged burn on his arm, sending a sharp sting down his arm. After so many accidents in ihs line of work, Tristan has also begun to enjoy the sensation of pain, it reminds him that he's still alive.

He grinned as he walked down the road that passed the train station. He took a quick moment to examine the train graveyard, opposite the station, and see if there was any promising garbage. No one has ever gone past the train graveyard before, apparently populated with ghosts and vengeful spirits and other paranormal shit. Tristan frowned, nothing new here, nothing ever changes.

As he walked by the 7th Heaven, he paused to contemplate getting himself a nice drink, maybe take his mind off all the shit that's been going on. He paused, then finally decided against it. He had just come to relax, not get boozed up for no reason. As he walked by, however, he heard a small crash, and peered into the alleyway leading to the side of the bar. He walked down, and saw that it had only been a piece of garbage. He turned to leave, when he began hearing voices from a small building adjacent to the bar. Growing ever more curious, he snuck down to listen in on what was going on.

"...Shinra seems to be on the verge of battle with other continents of the Planet, or so I hear. So are you in, or out?"

There was a small silence at these words, and Tristan thought he heard someone cough. He leaned in closer, trying to hear if there was any approval, when there was a small crash, and Tristan realized, with some shock, that he had knocked over a hunk of scrap iron. There was some commotion inside, and the door opened. Tristan righted himself as a young man looked out at him from inside.

"Hey, are you in on this too?" Tristan wasn't too sure how to answer, but he thought that the last bit of conversation he had caught sounded good enough...

"Yeah, I'm the guy." Tristan replied as casually as he could, and walked slowly up the steps into the house, closing the door behind him.

Desy, this is going to be a huge problem lol. 2 seans is going to make a huge confusion. Sean Masaron and Sean Marshall....

P.S.: My text is royal blue
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Thanks for the lift kid." a muscular man said

"Anytime sir." replied a young boy counting the gil the man gave him.

The boy left on his chocobo and leaving lots of dust. The man wheezed and walked towards the a house.

"Why did I even volenteered," the man mumbled.

Sean entered the old house and found several people inside talking very quietly.

"Hello, my name is Leo, Leo Mortan, a man said.

"Sean Masaron," quickly said the tall man.

Then he handshaked Leo's hand. Sean some what nearly squeezed the blood out of his hand as Leo reacted quickly and snapped his arm back.

"Watch it there," said Leo

"Sorry, I guess I was a bit uhh." Sean quivered

"Thats ok, I guess you were nervous," Leo replied

"Yeah, nervous..." slithered Sean

Sean walked slowly towards a corner where he put balls of crystal into each knuckle socket in his worn out gloves.

"Note to self, buy new gloves." spoke to himself

"What are you doing?" a girl asked out of nowhere.

Sean suddenly almost leaped into the ceiling dropping many of the crystals.

"Quite a scare you gave me," Sean said

"Sorry, whats your name? I'm Lavie Silvana." she said

"Sean Masaron, and I'm putting materia into my gloves" replied Sean.

"Oh." said Lavie Then she left to talk to the others.

Sean sighed and retreived his other materia. Then soon when he filled each slot, he put his left gloved hand inches away from his face when suddenly it turns into a huge blaze of fire.

"Perfect," grinned Sean

It was already late when Rydia heard a knocking at her little hovel. Standing from her sewing machine, she stole quietly up to the door and said, "Who is it?"

"Me, of course," the voice outside laughed, and Rydia smiled and opened the door.

Trysta stumbled in, and it was easy to see that she wasn't entirely herself. Most likely she'd knocked several back at that bar, 7th Heaven, one place in Midgar Rydia had never set foot in. If she was ever in need of some liquor to waste away the time, Trysta would provide it for her, because there was no way Rydia was stepping into a seedy bar like that for anything.

Rydia pushed the thoughts aside and put her arms out to catch Trysta as she fell forward slightly. "Whoa, there," she said softly, her voice soothing. "You all right?"

"Never been better," Trysta grinned, her speech sounding assuredly slurred. "Should've come out, Rydia, had a blast tonight. Lost a little blackjack, won a little poker, had a couple beers ..."

"A couple?" Rydia said, unable to hold back the smile. Looping Trysta's arm around her shoulders, she walked her carefully to the only low chair in the room and set her down. Trysta was teasing her, of course; they'd been friends for ages, and she always tried to convince Rydia that she was missing something by not attending the rowdy bar nights at 7th Heaven.

As odd as it might seem, Rydia much preferred to sit and strain her eyes over her seamstress work, something Trysta would never be able to understand.

"You think I'm bad," Trysta laughed heartily, "there was this one guy there, Leo, who was just off his rocker. Had a whole speech about freedom, rebellion, some shit like that ..." Rydia winced slightly at Trysta's language. "Something about a tiara, I think ... weapons ... This huge, fancypants idea about overthrowing Shinra, nothing more than the liquor talking. It was ridiculous, at least I don't get up on bars and make a fool of myself when I get drunk."

Rydia, meanwhile, had gotten a glass of water for Trysta and was holding it in front of her, waiting patiently for the other woman to accept it. Trysta looked up after she'd closed her mouth. "Water! Excellent idea, Rydia, excellent. Excel ... you always did excel ..." Trysta drank and tried to speak at the same time, but still managed to get some of the liquid down her throat.

"You know," Trysta said, sounding nearly lucid as she clunked the glass down on the floor, "that guy may have been crazy, but he had the right idea. We all deserve to be free ... nobody deserves a life like this. Least of all you, babyface."

Rydia shook her head slightly at Trysta's nickname for her. She hated that nickname, nobody except Trysta could've gotten away with it. "Shh, be quiet," Rydia said, ever soothing. "Drink a little more, go to sleep. It'll feel better in the morning."

Trysta hardly seemed to hear her anymore, and upon closer inspection, Rydia realized the other woman had fallen asleep right where she was.

Rydia herself was a little tired as well, she hadn't noticed it until Trysta had interrupted her work. Her words had washed over her, but none of them had really taken hold. It was an interesting idea, but Rydia had given up on pipe dreams similar to that long ago.

With a small sigh, Rydia laid down on her cot, thankful that at least her own blanket, self-created, was soft. She curled up into a small ball and fell asleep with Trysta's words swirling through her head.

(OOC: Rydia isn't exactly the type to storm up to Leo's door and be like, "I want in!" I was thinking perhaps when you guys are looking for supplies somebody (or multiple people) could come by, having heard of her skill with making defensive clothing, and ask her for help, thus piquing her interest. If nobody wants to that's all right, I'll find a way ...)

OOC:I'll use BLUE for my posts.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yuki slunk in the shadows. She held a bundle of items in her arms. They were rations for the week. She was headed to the old hideout where the Thief Lord's gang still hung around. She always divided half of what she stole with them because quite a lot of them were beginners and they didn't get much food.Yuki looked at the items she had pilaged. There were 2 loaves of bread,2 jars of honey,2 bottles of milk,2 blocks of butter and 2 jars of jam.

Yuki entered quietly. As soon as she got to the doorway she was swamped by the gang, trying to steal things off her.Yuki did an acrobatic flip and got away from them.

"You're still to slow and too loud.I could hear you coming. You need to be swift, agile, quiet and be invisible!anyways. Here's your share of food for the week."Yuki said as she set the things on an old table."And here's your pen back Stick."Yuki said as she tossed it to him.

They were still in awe of Yuki's skill.Stick hadn't even felt it.Yuki was by far the best thief of them all.

"I'll visit tomorrow.Seeya all later."Yuki said as she took the rest of the items with her.

Yuki skipped over the rooftops until she reached her house. She opened the door and walked in.

"Dad!I'm home!"Yuki said as she closed the door. Her father was still weak and was very old.Yuki got no answer. She set the items on an old wooden table. She climbed the old wooden stairs of her house and walked over the creaking floorboards to her father's room.He was on an old mattress, covered by an old moth-eaten blanket.Yuki walked over to the bed.She had convinced herself that he was asleep.

"Wake up Dad."Yuki said as she shook him gently. He didn't move.
"Dad?Wake up!!"Yuki said as she shook harder. She listened and she couldn't hear him breathing.
"DAD!!!!"Yuki cried loudly. It echoed through the old wooden house.

Yuki fell onto the bed and held his father's lifeless body. She cried out her griefs.Yuki lay there for the rest of the afternoon and through the night crying. At 10pm,when she stopped crying, her eyes were red and puffy and her cheeks were stained with tears.Yuki covered his body with the blanket and stumbled to her room that was next to his and fell into bed.She went straight to sleep.

I'm not the type to go to Leo's door either. If you want me then you can get me or bump into me at Wall Market during the days.I'll be hard to find though.^_-

Leo looked around and then looked at the digital ticking feature on his TV screen. It was now around 3 AM, an unsual time for Leo to be awake. So uncomfortably Leo sat down once again and looked at the new figure who stood around. Explaining what was to be done to him, it seemed as if everyone was nearly drifting off, except for Westan who paid sharp attention to the males in the room. Yawning, Maximillion wandered off underneath the curtain onto Leo's bedroom as Leo followed with his eyes, he began to feel wary of what he was going to do, he was exhausted.

"Well I do not know about you, but I feel as if I should be sleeping. I've got an early start. All I can say is, well, thankyou for all of your support. Meet back here at about 9 am. It should be wise to get some plans going, and I need equipment, the sooner I get out of here, the better." Stated Leo tiredly.

Nobody replied with words but each and everyone of them nodded in recognition of the statement and Westan finally stood at ease and opened to the door while standing aside to make sure nobody tried anything. Gradually, the people sitting except for Leo lifted themselves and walked out of the door, calling the odd 'Goodnights'. As silence fell, Westan smiled at Leo and Leo smiled back, and just as he left, Leo called out,

"Thanks Westan, see you later."

Westan didn't turn around but he froze and carried on, slamming the door behind him until all that could be heard was the heavy breathing of the pup and the footsteps that faded in the distance. Leo felt a sense of triumph and walked over to the door, then knocked the block of wood to fall and seal the door. Rubbing his eyes, Leo changed into his nightwear than consisted of plain boxer shorts and his T-Shirt, washed his face and then pulled the curtain aside to rest on the small bed that Maximillion had already began to warm. Finally Leo slid into the thin sheets comfortably after turning off the lights and closed his eyes to wake up later that morning.

----------

At around 8:15 AM in the Shinra Headquarters

"How goes the operation?" Asked President Shinra.

"Everything is running smoothly, President. A small group of SOLDIER have been dispatched to each sector, they should complete their tasks by the end of the day." Spoke the beautiful, blonde woman who sat in argument at the meeting the previous day.

"Good, you are surpassing yourself Scarlet." The President spoke monotonously.

"Thankyou President."

-----------

In Sector 7

Leo awoke slowly to find himself in the pitchblack home he always awakes in. Sitting up and patting on his laps to see if Maximillion was still there, he discovered the dog was not, but scurrying around playfully, even in the dark. Stretching his arms, Leo swung his legs over to feel blindly on the cold walls for the lightswitch. With success, the lights flickered on and off, and then finally stayed on, a refreshing start. Picking up his trousers he had dropped hours ago, he slid them onto his legs and finally found his black shirt on the back of a wooden chair. Rolling the sleeves up on it, Leo sat down and noticed he had forgotten to switch off his television. It was about 8:37 AM.

Walking over to the table, Leo found a small mysterious pouch. Untying the string and lifting the back, Leo found about 2000 Gilders. This was incredibly strange but just shrugged it off thinking it was left by some of the people he met. Tying the string and fixing the pouch into one of his inside shirt pockets Leo found a small container contraining some greens in his cupboards and a loaf of bread. This would make a suitable breakfast, so after preparing his meal, it was nearly time to meet up. So sitting down on the sofa, he began to eat his hot meal, occasionally giving bits of it to Maximillion...

Sean growled near a corner of Leo's house. He woke up having drool all over the floor. Sean quickly cleaned it up and went outside.

"I'm going back to the wall market to get a decent breakfast." yelled Sean. "I'll be back"

Sean ran out of sector 7 and he stopped to a kid holding a reign that was on a chocobo.

"How fortunate." mumbled Sean. "Take me back to the Wall market, heres your pay."

THe kid glared at Sean for a moment and he and Sean hopped on the armored chocobo and it took off. It was a while till hte chocobo stopped at the Wall market.

"Hey kid, I'll get ya something if you stay here." said Sean.

"Thanks, but I'm going with you, a kid needs breakfast too." siad the boy.

Sean and the kid walked into the wall market and entered the BUffet place.

"What do you guys want?" said the waiter.

"The soup." Sean quickly said

"The special." the kid whispered.

"1 soup and a special" yelled the waiter. "It'll be on it's way."

"Hey kid, i'll be walking outside the the place, tell me when breakfast is done." whispered Sean

The boy nodded and Sean ran off. He wondered around until he heard talkings about "a girl who can sew good defensive materials into your clothes, including weapons like gloves ect." Sean immediatly ran to the dress store. THe owner was on the table sleeping.

"Hey, psst, wake up." said Sean quietly." WAKE UP!!!!!!!!"

The old man woke up and and nearly slapped Sean silly, but he dodged right on time.

"WHat do you young fellow want?" said the owner weakly.

"Is there really a girl that can make good defensive clothing just for battle?" said Sean

"Yes, why?" siad the owner sounding suspiciously.

"I need to make my glove a bit more stronger." said Sean in a low tone.

"I guess Rydia can do it." said the old man in a normal voice. " I'll go get her."

Sean sighed as he walked towards a chair, sat down, and fell asleep.

Yuki shakingly awoke the next morning. The beams of light shone through her window, casting shadows through the room. She weakly got up and went to the bathroom. She took off her clothes and took a shower. She stood in the warm water as it washed all the dirt and tears from her body. She got changed and went downstairs. She unpacked the supplies that she had left on the table from the day before and sat down for a breakfast.

Yuki cut a slice from the loaf of bread and spreaded it with jam.She sighed and chewed on it.She would be going to Wall Market again like usual.A tear rolled down her cheek as she thought about how her life had turned into a life of thievery. She sometimes wondered what would have happened if she never met the Thief Lord and never became a thief.

Yuki stood and packed the things up and stored them in the cupboards and fridge. She went upstairs to brush her hair and to get her Sword that the Thief Lord had given her.She ran a hand over the dragon.Whenever she was sad,the dragon on the sword somehow always made her feel better in a mystical way.She strapped the sheath to her back and ran downstairs. She took a glance at her father's room upstairs and turned away, opening the door and leaving.

Yuki climbed the drainpipe just outside the door and jumped onto the roof. She ran along the rooftops quietly as she headed towards Wall Market for more pilaging.

As she hopped over rooftops, she saw a man come out of a house and get on a chocobo.Yuki followed them to Wall Market and saw them go into a Buffet Shop. After a while the man came out again and walked into a dress shop.

Yuki wasn't sure why,but something told her she should follow him.Yuki ran to another clothes shop and grabbed some things. She took a coat and a pair of sunglasses that were lying near by.She walked into the dress shop and saw the man sitting in a chair.Yuki quietly stood to the side and watched.Yuki put on a fake voice and spoke to him.

"What are you here for?"Yuki asked.

He looked at her and replied.

"I want the seamstress here to make my glove stronger."the man said.
"Oh really? She can do that?"Yuki asked faking it.Of course she knew the magical Rydia could do such things and more.
"Yeah."the man said.
"My name's Lianna."Yuki said lying."And what's your name may I ask?"
"My name's Sean."he replied.
"Well it's nice to meet you."

OOC: Could have met my character, Kon, but it doesn't matter.

IC:
Kon awoke with the woman lying in bed next to him.
Not that they'd actually done it. She'd refused to give him a name, and she liked to talk. So they did.
Kon was on top of the sheets, and the woman was under them, clearly grateful for the warmth they gave her.
"Good morning," he said as she slowly sat up, yawning and rubbing her eyes.
"Morning," she replied.
"What'd you like for breakfast?"
"Uh...nothing much. Just a slice of toast thanks."
Kon got up and walked over to the corner of the room that was the kitchen.
"You haven't answered my question yet."
"Neither have you," Kon retorted with a grin.
"Fine. If you really have to know that badly, it's Tath."
"Nice to finally meet you Tath," his grin broadened.
"So? What do you think about Leo's speech? Are you going to go see him?" Tath asked curiously.
"Well..." he thought for a moment. "I may as well...but I don't know where he lives, and I don't know any of his contacts either. Oh well..."
Tath felt the sarcasm in his comment. Why was Kon being like this?
"So that's it, huh? You're just going to give up."
"Well now, I wouldn't call it giving up..."
"You probably wouldn't call it a lot of things," she said, "and you've slipped up. You do know one of Leo's contacts."
Kon raised an eyebrow.
Tath smirked.
"You're one of Leo's contacts?!"
"Took you long enough to figure that one out," she said with another smirk, reaching for the phone. "Hi, put Mane on, it's Tabatha."
Kon raised both eyebrows. They had codenames?!
"You'll learn buddy," she said, covering the mouthpiece of the phone. "Mane is just my nickname for Leo. Tabatha's my birthname, but I got rid of it a long time ago. Leo's the only one who gets away with calling me by it."
Kon just stared at her.
"Yeah, hi. It's me, Tabatha. I got someone here. He wants to meet you. Should I bring him over?"

OOC: I've managed that much. *wow*
Tath is just a minor character I've introduced. We can kill her off somewhere down the lines.

"Ok, you wanna come Lianna?" asked Sean

"Go where?" replied Yuki

"Umm, there's this guy named Leo, I'm coming back to his place before 10:00, you wanna come?" said Sean

"Uh sure." replied Yuki suspiciously

Then suddenly a girl walked out of the curtains yawning and rubbing her eyes.

[OOC: Eh... GSB Master, some of you guys.... I know I am not running this RPG, but I am finding some of your posts... horrible. Eh. Sorry. I am a big fan of grammar and sensible setup. Also, we don't actually have Chocobos... or so I believe from Zidarghs recruitment thread. 'I wonder if there are chocobos out in the world?']

Ruben abruptly turned off the main street, and headed down the alley to Marag's Medicine Shop. Pushing in the door, he walked straight up to the counter and started bellowing for Marag. Presently the old woman shuffled out from behind the partition. She moved over to the cash register, and drew out 40 Gil. Ruben leaned over and gave her a peck on the cheek as he stuffed the money into an inner pocket.

'Thanks darlin. See ya next week. And don't forget- any trouble just call me, and I'll sort the little bastards out'.

'Yes Ruben dear' the old lady called out, as she heaed back into the backroom to watch the news.

Ruben headed left when he exited the store, and hurried down to the dead end of the alley. Here, at some time, Shinra had torn down part of a building, however most of it was still standing. Looking around for a suitable piece, Ruben saw a large piece of concrete with a few solid looking steel rods protruding from it's base. Digging his feet in, and squaring his shoulders Ruben grasped the bundle of support rods by the base and lifted. Slowly, inch by painful inch, the muscles in his neck cording and popping, the piece of concrete was raised higher and higher into the air. Abruptly drawing in his body, Ruben used his weight to send the concrete slamming into the ground. Several large chunks fell off. Another crunch, and most of the concrete was cleared. Eventually Ruben had most of the concrete off. Hooking the 7 rods in the back of his belt, Ruben turned towards Leo's area. It was almost 9. Hopefully these rods could be useful- for weapons or equipment.

[Also... I don't really think Westan would have been much of an obstacle for Ruben. Ruben's forte is strength, and he is a standover man. He ain't taking no shit from no-one. lol]

OOC: Okay, I'm having a little trouble following everyone's posts, so correct me if I say anything wrong. Thanks in advance. By the way, if anyone's looking for information or whatnot, Lavie's shop would be a good place to go.

**********************

Lavie sneezed as she stepped into the musty store, but smiled cheerfully as she waved at her employer. She yanked a black cord from her pocket and tied her hair back in a long, neat braid before hanging her jacket over a rickety old hat-stand.

"Good morning!" she called. "Any customers yet?"

The owner scowled and continued to pore over his calculations. "Not a one, m'dear," he growled, glaring balefully at the empty doorway. "What are you waiting for?"

"Right." Lavie saluted cheekily and marched away into the used-books section, sneezing again when the scent of disintegrating pages hit her nose. "Oh my, what a mess."

The bookshelves were packed with old volumes of every shape and size. The floor, meanwhile, was crowded with crates of slightly newer manuscripts, and a torn page occasionally drifted through the dust-filled air. Lavie sighed, placing her hands on her hips, and set to work. Over the past few days, she had been attempting to organize all the books alphabetically, but many of them lacked an identifiable author.

"Well," she muttered, "I've got eight hours to fix this, and there's no time like the present."

It was around 8:45 am when Westan was in front of Leo's door. Not knowing if Leo would be awake or not, Westan took out one of his mining hammers, sat in front of Leos steps and waited.

After about 3 minutes, Westan grew reckless, and decided to knock on Leos door. Re-sheathing his hammer, Westan tapped on the door with his foot. TAP! TAP! TAP!

Leo walked to his door and put his ear up against it to try to hear if more than one person was out there. After listening a couple of more seconds, he opened the door a crack to see Westan standing out there looking around for anyone who might be hiding. "Westan! Come in, come in. Please, I just finished breakfast, so I need to clean up a little bit but..."

Westan looked at Leo, and tried making a smile wiht his lips. Instead of a smile it turned out to be a type of grimace. Leo just chuckled softly, knowing Westan was just trying to smile like that for his benefit. Westan walked past Leo and bent over to scratch Max's ears.

Westan then went at sat on Leos couch to wait for everyone else to show up. Looking around the room he spotted Leo cleaning up his remnants of breakfast, and heard Max's little claws hit the floor close by. Westan looked over at Max and patted the cushing next to him. Max jumped up with a wag of his tail and looked up at Westan.

Westan was petting Max when there was another knock at the door. Westan unsheathed one of his hammers and walked towards the door...

OOC: lol@Baron. Strength is Westans strongest forte man. I think they would be a good match, but since we're on the same side, we should team up to make a..Melee team, if you will. Kinda like body guards lol. Also, I didn't want to put anyone's character at the door since I didn't want to do anything someone wasn't planning.

5:30 AM: The dawn sun was rising above the horizon, and the world was waking up. Not that the sun could be seen in the slums, but the indirect light shining down upon the planet could be seen, and the warmth could be felt in the morning air. The slight breeze sliping in under the plate was still cool and refreshing.

Waking with a start, Arik sat up on the thin layer of padding that served as the hideout's bed. He always woke up that way, alert and ready for anything. Pulling a small pocket watch from his coat, he looked at the ticking hands and mumbled something about it being too damn early. Arik wasn't much of a morning person, and tried to avoid early starts. Standing up and yawning, he looked about his makeshift shelter. This one was pretty bare, a mere shack constructed back in some junk heaps away from the road. But it was hard to spot and easy to escape from, so it serverd its purpose as well as any.

As he slipped off through between the piles of wreckage, Arik wondered just how early that Leo guy was going to start. Surely he can't have gotten up at this godforsaken hour, Arik thought. He decided to slip off to the Wall Market for some breakfast before heading off to check on Leo. Some soup from that little diner place sounded good, and he'd be able to get it to go.

The streets were all but deserted this early in the morning. All the nighttime prowlers had already withdrawn, and the legitimate businesses hadn't yet started work for the day. This was actually the safest time of day to walk the streets of the slums, and Arik was strolling down the center of a broad avenue leading to Wall Market. He had purposely left a few 1 Gil coins in an outer pocket of his coat, and they jingled slightly as he walked.

Wall Market was slightly more populated. Arik glanced around for any seedy characters, and, spotting one, he veered off course slightly towards him. He put a little more bounce in his step, and the coins jingled louder while he looked off to the side away from the scruffy looking man. He veered farther, farther...bump! Arik stumbled a bit as his shoulder nudged the man.

Regaining his balance, Arik apologized. "Ah, sorry 'bout that, should've been looking where I was going." The man just grunted in reply, and Arik strolled on...minus the jingle in his pocket. Heheh, works every time, he thought as he quickly darted down and alley and around several buildings, all without a sound. Once a fair distance away, he removed the small pouch from his sleeve. This one had been tied with a thin leather strap in a rather difficult knot around the man's belt.

The thieves are getting better around here, Arik thought as he dumped the pouch's contents into his hand. 74 Gil--enough for breakfast, at least. It was early, though, so he couldn't expect any of the thieves to have gotten much yet. A little ways away Arik heard some swearing and the sound of boots running down the street the way Arik had been walking earlier, and he couldn't help but chuckle.

Later, steaming cup of soup in one hand and a plastic spoon in the other, Arik sat peering through a small gap in a rather large trash heap, his gaze centered on Leo's front door. He sipped a spoonful of the hot brothe--without any noise. Now, anyone would have to admit that that takes some skill. His only worry was the wisp of steam rising from the bowl, but he doubted it could be seen from the street.

Glancing absently at the pocket watch again, he noted the time: 5:58 AM. Sighing as he tossed the now empty bowl and spoon away to decay with the rest of the trash around him, Arik settled down to wait. He was good at waiting...and watching...and listening. He could let his mind wander aimlessly for hours, entertaining himself within the confines of his memory and imagination, while still remaining alert to any sound or movement around him.

Hours later, motion in front of the door jarred Arik from his thoughts. It was the same smith that he had seen the previous night, once more knocking at the door. It opened a crack, a few whispered words were said, and the smith was admitted into the house. He looked at his watch yet again: 8:49 AM.

Agh, I got up early for nothing, he thought, annoyed. Then another person knocking at the door caught his attention. He watched intently, straining his ears to try and catch anything that was said.

"So this is your work room."mumbled Sean

Sean first open the latches in his left glove's knuckle compartment to withdraw the materia inside, and then he did the same thing to his right glove, then put the 10 materias into a small bag attached to his belt. Sean removed the gloves and put them on the table.

"Hmm, so he have some materia.."wondered Yuki

"Can you make these gloves a but more stronger?" asked Sean "And if you have some spare time, also make me a vest of some sort."

"Hmm, ok," replied Rydia. "But it's going to cost you."

Sean walked out of the work room and placed a pile of Gil on the clerk's table and he walked out of the store towards the buffet.

"It feels weird enough without my gloves on," sighed Sean. "I have a feeling that someone is following me, probleby my imagination"

Sean stopped to cast a suspicious stare at every corner his eye can see. Then he continued on to the buffet place. Yuki however was following quitely......
