Name Changes

You have to wait until an anouncement says there is a name-change session, or if you pm Charles really, really, nice, he'll do it. Or if he owes ou a favor he'll change it for you anyhow. But it's easiest to wait until the name change session, which usually last about a month. That way you know it will be done.

This is why you have to be careful when members answer questions like this. ~_^

We don't have "name change sessions".

If you want to get your name changed, you simply have to PM Charles with the name you would like to have. You can do this at any time and if Charles himself has the time, he'll change it for you. If not, you'll have to wait.

That's about it. ^_^
Name Changing Open (05-07-2003 until 06-07-2004)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm here to quickly announce that OtakuBoards will be allowing name changing by request once again.

Charles has generously agreed to change people's names for the next month.

If you want your name changed, please send a PM to Charles with the new name that you want. If you choose a name and then make a mistake, you will not be allowed to change a second time. Once for everybody during the month long period, otherwise it's taking too much of Charles' time.

Thanks to Charles for making the commitment. And remember; Charles will include a "Former Username:" tag in your signature when your name is changed -- do not delete this tag for at least a month after your name change. This has been done to ensure that there is as little confusion as possible for all members concerned.

Regards,

James
from an announcement. That's how i knew you could even change your name. Sorry if i sound rude, i don't mean to.

That's fine. It's an old announcement and I've subsequently been sending people to Charles when they want to have their name changed.

In fact, I think I may have even posted an announcement about that, except that it's expired (but that's a result of me forgetting to use my custom end-date).

But yeah, in general I tend to have to jump in and clear things up in these threads, because newer members are often getting slightly inaccurate answers. It's no big deal, it's just a reality.
