DragonofDestiny
Well everyone, what's better than waking up on Christmas morning, running downstairs and finding your fav. animes under the tree? NOTHING! So, this board is for you to discuss any new animes that've you been eyeing. Tell us why you think everyone should ask for this for christmas! I recently made a trip up to a video store and rented 8 dvds. I'd have to say that Fruits Basket is one of the better new animes I've seen. It's got comedy, action, self-discovery and all that other stuff that makes you rethink yourself. I'd recommend this for any body, young or old, becuase it's truely heartwarming and hillarious.
Dagger
Well, I can't speak for the tastes of others, but I can mention some of the anime DVDs that were included in my Christmas list. 1. Fruits Basket-- After several months of watching very weighty, serious shows (RahXephon, Boogiepop Phantom, and Voices of a Distant Star, to name a few), I've become eager to see some lighter fare. Since Fruits Basket is rumored to be one of anime's best romantic comedies, and since it's significantly cheaper than many twenty-six episode series, I decided that it couldn't hurt to check it out. 2. Now and Then, Here and There-- Well, as wonderful as shoujo is, I'll never grow truly tired of death, destruction, and tragedy. This thirteen episode show promises to deliver fully on all three fronts. Plus, it comes in a relatively inexpensive box set, and the reviews I've read seem to indicate that it provides plenty of food for thought. There's nothing I love more than anime that demands to be re-watched, no matter how emotionally wrenching it may be. 3. Big O-- When the first season of Big O aired on Cartoon Network, I liked its characters and style, but thought that its plot was slightly lacking. Its mind-bending second season proved me wrong, and I can't wait to watch the series on DVD and figure out just what happened in that bizarre last episode. ~Dagger~
Arcadia
Let's see. I asked for... 1. The Cowboy Bebop movie. Can you believe I haven't actually seen the whole thing, all the way through? I'm a bit disappointed, myself. Although, I'm almost positive I'll get it - it's an easy buy. 2. The RahXephon series. I've heard so many good things about this series, and I've definitely liked what I've seen of it. I know the one Game Stop/Planet X store near me has the box set. Hopefully Santa will come through for me, heh. 3. I also asked for Scrapped Princess, but I don't think I'll be getting that one. Of course, with terra's help, that can easily be remedied... *rubs hands together evilly* After that, there's still a ton of stuff that I want to see, but don't necessarily want to buy. I can't wait to see what my friends get, heh. We'll have silly parties or something. It'll be great.
I, Colossus
I only asked for one anime this year. I must be fading out of my anime craze and back into the saftey of gaming. A few years back I asked for tons of anime, more than my parents could afford. And they couldn't find most of them, so I ended up with one DVD. --; Now I put backups in my lists, just in case. But, as I was saying, the only anime series I asked for was Get Backers. I honestly don't know too much about this series. The plot is pretty simple, just two guys that run a buisness. Their buisness is to get...stuff...back. So, yeah, it wont be a rivetting story but it looks cool enough. I would've asked for Witch Hunter Robin but Cartoon Network got the rights to it and it'll air on Adult Swim sometime soon. Heh.
Shinken
Hm, let's see here. My past two Usernames have been Battosai and currently Shinken... What anime could I possibly be receiving for Christmas? Rurouni Kenshin, of course. I'm getting the Tales of the Meiji DVDs. :D ME SO HAPPY!!! With whatever money I'll get, you can bet it'll be spent on anime/manga, along with a few other things. (I hear AFI's got a new album out...) WW2
Well I'm not gonna get any anime as Christmas presents, but I'll probably buy some with all the money I'll be getting. As for what to buy, I haven't really decided yet. Of course I'll have to buy the final volume of Raxephon, so that I'll have the complete set. I might start collecting the Ninja Scroll series, since the I liked the movie so much. The first two volumes are out now. Oh, and I guess I'll go ahead and buy the DBZ movie about Brolly. Thats pretty much all I can think of right now, since I already have just about every anime I like.
Chichiri's Girl
Yes well three points for Fruits Basket cause it has my vote too. I got a preview disk from one of my big bro's newtypes back in what? Mabey March? Well whatever it was love at first site. I remember I brought it over to Erin's house and we laughed our a**es off all weekend. So then I got the first 6 episodes and now for Christmas I want the rest! What can I say about it that hasn't already been said? Not much except that episodes 5 & 6 are halrious! Hee it's classic when Torhu's family gangs up on here and calls her well wouldn't wanna ruin the laughter. It's kind of sick that I find that funny anyways.... Well thats all I can think of for anime. Now manga that's another story!
Oukan05
I'm not asking much this year, but if I were then it would be about two or three anime I want for christmas.

Big O: First Season= My favorite episode in that volume was "Legacy of Amadeus;" where Dorthey plays a Sonata on piano.
New Full Metal Panic= The show is so funny and full of action.
If I get lucky, then a new third volume of Fruits Basket= My brother messed up one. Now, I need a new one.
That's what I would ask. I'm trying to save up this year, but I guess it's not happening; because my mom just asked me what I really wanted for Christmas. Well,...CAN"T WAIT FOR TOMORROW!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D (Sorry, got too excited. )

Dagger
I didn't get any of the series that I requested, but I did receive Kiki's Delivery Service (which was also on my list), as well as a gorgeous RahXephon artbook. Having still not seen Kiki's Delivery Service, I'm very excited about watching it. Although I never got all the way through Princess Mononoke, I didn't like that particular film nearly as much as Castle in the Sky or Spirited Away. So for all practical purposes, Kiki's Delivery Service completes my Miyazaki DVD collection. ~Dagger~
