Sports

It depends on what type of sports. I see you like skating, and you picked the right team to back, too, but you could also want a traditional sports game, too.

If you want Traditional sports, Madden 2004 is the way to go. You get to make your own team, own stadium, in it's own location, decide what to sell at the stands, pull in money to buy your player's contracts, everything. It's worth it. 50 bucks for this game, unless it's an after-christmas sale. For basketball, i'd say something like NBA Street vol. 2. IT has all the regular basketball players, no fouls, very rare outs, tricks, you can unlock street ballas, the St. Lunitics, etc. All around awesome game. 40 bucks for this game.

If you want extreme, or 'untraditional' games, either one of these would suite you good. Tony Hawk's UnderGround is an awesoem game. UNlike the other THPS games made for PS, PS2, GBA, and N64, this one takes it in a new direction. You create your own skater(mine has purple corn-rows), and you play through as him, starting as a skater punk in New Jersy who happens to witness Chad Muska come to his town for a demo. Then, it all goes uphill, until your est friend backstabs you for footage and becomes pro off of your film(
after bustin that McTrist of the Helicopter in Hawaii, he should be shot! j/k
) Then, you create your own skateboarding team, choosing from a list of most of the skaters in the game. You also get to create a trick, create a deck, create a goal, and create a park to use said goals in if you don't like the huge levels from story mode. A well spent 50 bucks here. Or, Matt Hoffman BMX 2. I haven't played this one, but i understand it is awesome. You can do flat-lands, huge combos, everything. But i have seen it played. It's worth the money here. I'm not sure whether it's 20 or 30 bucks, can't help you on this one.

I would love to help you on the others, but i don't know of any games that would fit in it unless you count racing games as others.

Let me know.

~`(_Nate_)`~

EDIT: You should change all of those pictures in your banner to Bam Margera. Heh.

Sports games aren?t my forte, so I?ll be handling the other two genres.

With the Action/Adventure genre you have tons of picks. Now that platformers are expanding, most of them could be considered Adventure games. Jak II is a good example of this. Jak II has a very wide variety of gameplay, similar to that of GTA. Jak II features a wide open city, the ability to hijack cars, and several other elements that aren?t usually found in your typical platformer. So, I?d definitely recommend this one. Other than that you can always play it safe with the GTA series. If you want something a little cheaper, I?d go with Devil May Cry, as far as I know it?s down to 20 dollars, and considering how awesome it was, it?s a real bargain. ^_~

Heh. I have to go but I?ll edit later.

I won't be able to help you out with sports but for the other two I'm good at.

For Action/Adventure there are plenty. Some of the new ones are pretty good. One good one is True Crime: Streets of LA. Its much like Grand Theft Auto, but also different. It's a game with shooting, fighting, and driving elements with a story that isn't great but not bad. The cool thing about it is the branching storyline, meaning that what you do in one mission affects the next one, and you never have to repeat the same mission twice. Some problems is that the fighting system can be frustrating and the game is short story-wise.

Another Action game is Freedom Fighters. It's pretty fun with the "recruit and command" system where you recruit up to 12 Freedom Fighters and order them to attack and defend. The story is alright and the game is short, but there are plenty of ways to complete a level that'll it'll keep you entertained. One problem is the difficulty, it's pretty hard and you'll get easily bored on the easy difficulty, but all in all, it's a pretty fun game.

The people who made Freedom Fighters also made Hitman 2, a stealth-based action game. The story isn't great but there's a wide variety of gameplay. There's also a rating system that rates you at the end of each mission, ranging from Mass Murderer to Silent Assassin.

Another good stealth based game is Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, which is a newer version of Sons of Liberty. The story is great and the gameplay is fun. The new features that are added on are new missions, alternative stories and a skateboarding minigame.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance is a good action game with a Devil May Cry battle system and a Ico-inspired camera movement. It can get boring after awhile but this is a game that diehard Legacy of Kain fans should get. The other legacy of Kain games are pretty good but its mostly a story-based game.

My friend recently got Tony Hawks Underground and he says its awesome. And for Madden 2004, yeah, Im getting that game. I've had my mind set on that game as soon as it came out. Jak 2, I've never looked into that game or the first one. But it sounds cool. Ill probably rent it and see how it is. True Crime, I am not really sure about that game. Freedom Fighters, I've heard about it and Ill research it and see how it is. I've already got Devil May Cry and I loved it.

Do you guys know any good RPG's that are out there?

Oh, And I've been meaning to change my banner to Bam, his new show(Viva La Bam) kicks ***.

Some Great RPG's are the Final Fantacy games. I would Recommend FFX and FFX-2, they have great action and fantastic story lines. No one should have a PS2 with out these games.

Final Fantacy X is now on the greatest hits list so its like $20

Final Fantacy X-2 mad a dent in my wallet by $50

Its all worth it...

There is one thing to not to love about the game.
Not everyone can play the game. How do you know that he can play M-rated games?

That's why all the games i recomended might have about 5 cuss words in the total. And no violence, unless football is voilent.

Lets see Ill start with easiest, sports:

By your sig and avatar, I assume you are big on skating, so Tony Hawk Underground or 4 or 3 or 2 or 1 would be a good grab. If I missread, Madden 2004/NBA Street Vol. 2/NHL2004 are all good grabs.

Action/Adventure would bring me to the question of fantasy or shoot um up.

For shoot um up, a Metal Gear or a Tom Clancy anything.
Fantasy wise, Ratchet and Clank/Jak 1 or 2 would do it up.

Now for RPG:
FFX/Kingdom Hearts good choices

Other choices would have to be
Silent Hill 3
GTA Vice City
Tekken 4
Vertua Fighter 4

Regarding sports, I am surprised noone has mentioned SSX3, it is just as good as THUG (in fact I prefer SSX3 slightly)

You can't go wrong with any of the games in this list

Silent Hill 2/3
Tekken Tag/4 (Tekken Tag ONLY if it is NTSC version, ie. US or Japanese)
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution
GTA 3/VC
Final Fantasy X
Jak 2
MGS2

Well, even though I don't currently own a PS2, I have a few friends who do, so I can help out a little, heh.

As far as sports go...if you're into simulation, the latest Madden is a definite must. The absolute best mix of realism and fun. If you'd rather have a more arcade/sim like experience, then the NCAA Football series (also from EA) would be a good pickup, too.

If you have some patience, as far as adventure games go, I think ICO would be a fantastic pickup. I've played the game a few times at a friends house and it's simply amazing. Also, you could probably pick up the game fairly cheap now, since the game has been out for a while now, heh.

If you want more straight-up action, then Devil May Cry would be a good pickup, too (also cheap since it's been out for a while now). Very intense, fast paced game, though it does get a tad repetitive if you play it for long stretches.

i heard all .hack/ games are cool, but lack the appeal that the anime does because after all, the plot is an MMORPG and it is single player. I heard only awesome things about Xenosaga. I cant express enough how awesome Kingdom Hearts is. Another good RPG, that didnt get the best reviews(mediocare) is Legend of Legaia 2: Duel Saga. I played through the game like crazy, and the fighting never gets old.

For sports I reccomend getitin ESPN Basketball or ESPN Forrtball. They're both great games and ESPN basketball is better than NBA Live 2004 so it like the #1 pick.

For Action/adventure you could always get Chaos Legion which is nothin but action nonstop. But some others are Rachet and Clank, Rachtet and Clank going commando, FFX& FFX-2.

For other there are alot of good choices. Soul Calibur 2 has to be the number 1 fighting game of the year, you coud also try Spyhunter 2 which I've heard is really good.

Gran Turismo 3/ Gran Turismo 4.
GT3 is the best driving game ever created. GT4 will be out this *summer. GT4 will replace GT3 and both games will be/are games worthy of every penny. (especially considering gt3 is only 20 bucks now as part of the greatest hits collection.)

Then there is Ace Combat 4 . Flat out, ac4 is the best flight sim on the ps2. Unfortunately it will not be for long. Fortunately, it will be ace combat 5 that takes the new title for best flight sim. (ace combat 5 has been announced, but no release date has been given.)

Then there are the others...
Just recently I picked up the gta double pack. Nice buy, but I don't need to argue for that game. Everyone knows gta is fun as hell. (unless your too young to be playing it... it is not a game for children under 13 if you ask me.)

Don't have a third pick really... just take the top two and that will be enough for hundreds of hours of play. Enjoy.

Well....I have some good games. For sports, madden, if you like football. If you like one of the more "outdoor games" then i would have to suggest Downhill Domination. I got it and all of my friends love it. Do some research if needed, because i love the game...

Downhill Domination is just like a mountain bike game that you have fun racing down HUGE mountains and you can kill each other's player with punches, kicks, yur bike, stick, or bottles. Very good graphics too. you have a various amount of tricks, and you can buy some additional stuff. The weird thing is that you can ride on a llama and some other animals...its kind of amusing.

I dont' think i can help you with the action. Maybe enter the matrix, but that usually has a short story line, so i don't think you want to get that if you are looking for adventure. It has some pretty cool moves though.

Hmm...I'm not really into rpg's so no good suggestions there. Try and look for Dynasty Warriors. Don't buy it, but you should ask some friends about it, because man, that is a cool game. rent it out and see if you like it a lot. -Basic story line- Well...Dynasty warriors basically says it itself. But if you need background info then here it is. You can be like a sorceress, barbarian, and a mage, or something like it. =prince i think...=...and then you have special moves, like magic, you have to recharge everything. You can pick up some horses too, which helps with mobility. I wouldn't suggest the elephant becuase its really slow, but still effective. You go around under a certain limit of time trying to beat the enemy before your forces are defeated....basically, thats it, but it has an addiction to it, like most games.----

The main idea is just to get a LONG story becuase most of the people who get games beat it in one day, and i say, What's the point of that?--In my opinion, you should enjoy the game---

Get Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando. It is just a good game. There are so many different gadgets and firearms and the levels are lengthy and the story is surprisingly good. It is about 50 percent longer than the 1st one and it is twice as hard the second time you play through. You may think you have seen it before, but it is something different. Also get the GTA and for a RPG, get 'Disgaea: Hour of Darkness' its just fun.
