Artemis
Has anyone else had a sudden burst of creative energy? I don't usually draw, but, on some weird kick, I spent a great deal of my Christmas vacation drawing...and some of it has turned out pretty good. (Ask duorocks17 and lovelyeowyn.) :p In fact, my sister was pissed off b/c I usually read all through the break (and I've got a new book she wanted to read after me) but I read a lot less this time. In fact, I'll often get distracted when reading b/c I want to write instead. I'll get ideas and feel like I need to work with them. So...has anyone else had sudden manifestations of creative talents they didn't know they had? ~art~

wiccansamurai
I do that all the time. In fact, I can't write a poem with out a sudden burst of creativity. (Unfortunately, creativity's the easy part, after that I have to figure out what to write ^^;;) Drawing's pretty natural to me since last year when I finally discovered I wasn't as bad as I thought. Xyandar
I never used to read. But over the holidays I went to see Lord Of The Rings Return of The King and it was so amazing. One night I picked up the first Book of Lord Of The Rings and started reading. Ever snce I have been reading that book so much because I'm so interested in it! Kinetic
Has anyone else had a sudden burst of creative energy?
I apologize, but along with the title, that gave me very perverted thoughts lol. Criticize me, do what you will, it's the truth. Anyhow, I do get in the mood to write every now and then and when I do, I'm usually pretty satisfied with what I created. Most of the time I prefer to read peoples' posts and such on forums and sometimes play video games.
The Mac Attack
I'm not much at writing, but I do have creative outbursts when it comes to visual arts. Just the other day I was cleaning off my whiteboard. I went to fetch a new colour and then I eventually ended up with a Cowboy Bebop motif consuming the whole board. Currently, there's a website I'm supposed to be making, yet I'm only going to work on it once I get these creative urges, otherwise the result probably won't be that pleasing. In my experience, when it comes to music compositional creativity, late at night can be the best of times. Some of my best pieces (or themes technically) were written at this time. I'm not too sure what it is about this time, but if you're into composition I suggest you give it a go.
Ninjaman
Heck, I love to create, period. Writing stories, poems, drawing, building, etc. One of the things I have never written is a song, which will probably never happen because I doubt it'll be good and be better off as a poem. Anyway, I'm writing a book right now and it's really hard to write down something I already have in mind unless I'm really in the mood. The same goes for drawing, though that can be helped with some music. We have to make a 64-page manuscript for my Creative Writing class this semester so that may need some burst of creative energy, unless I finish my book and turn that in, hmm. Corey
I've been writing a lot more. I think it's because we all got a 'rest' from school and the such. I'm actually thinking of putting some of my stuff on OB. For I sorely need the ego boost. ;)
DeathBug
I am a bug with a fictional multiverse in my head. I have no problem creating epic fantasy worlds and characters caught in the eternal struggle between good an evil. Too bad it takes me forever to actually sit down and write stuff out. ^^;; However, when said juices flow, I run with it. If you want to see my latest effort, recoverring from a hiatus, check out "The Sol Chronicles" in the Literature forum. ^__^ *End self plug*
Japan
I almost always get that feeling. When I do, I either feel the urge to draw or write. I enjoy them both very much. When I have the urge to write, I write like 10 pages without stopping. A lot of my friends think that my stories are very good. I also wrote a 20 page journal entry once in one hour. Other than the creative urge to write, I also have the urge to draw. I can't go a day without drawing something. I am pretty good at it. I enjoy drawing fan art. I like to draw things from Inuyasha and Rurouni Kenshin the most. I have like 10 pages each dedicated to the both of them. They are all very well done. I guess I am a creative person. DeadSeraphim
My creative juices usually kick in around January and run out by October. In that time I'll usually get fanatical about my writing while at the same time end up (slowly) improving my abysmal drawing skills. Everyone who's read my work says its goods (at least the recent stuff) but all I really want to do is get past 10 pages for a story...
future girl
I get creative burst of energy, they're usually extremely inappropriate, like when I should be sleeping I get the most wonderful idea for a story. I never put anything off because I like to get the idea exactly how I envisioned it down and then I end up going to bed at something like four in the morning. Drawing also works the same way, I just get in a mood really. It's the sudden need to create something, I guess.
duorocks17
It usually takes me something to get me interesting before i actually start writing. You know me, something just lights a fire in my head, and then i run with it. I really hate it when i can sit, and plan out something perfectly, but then, when i go to write it down, i completely lose it. This has happened to me a lot while i'm writting my book. Sometimes i have to go back and check things to make sure they are right. I usually get my urges when i am watching tv, or playing a video game. I usually like to draw what i watch on TV. Like characters and stuff. Sometimes reading other books help me. Just by reading the details of how something is written, helps me get into the mood. Semjaza
I'd say that nearly every last thing I've ever designed as been at a really weird hour of the night. I very rarely work on anything during daylight hours, that's for sure. Usually very late at night until it's basically well into the next morning. Such is the case with Wrapped in Plastic, Slow Nerve Action and a few of my fanlistings. I think 1-Up Gaming was an exception though. Anything I basically can consider an "original" work of my own. Stuff like wallpapers I did for theOtaku (Dragon Ball Z, Outlaw Star and Yu-Gi-Oh) can really be done at any time, although they took me several hours each to do heh. So yeah, timing is crucial for me. Other than that, little affects me.
Katana
*drinks out of glass labeled 'Creative Juices'* Hey, there you go, that was something creative. ^^ I feel as if I do have bursts of creativity...that usually become something I think is stupid later. But that only applies to writing. Sometimes I'll think of this great thing to draw, or this fantastic idea I have to put on a banner or sommin'. My CJ are mostly atuned to my friends, mainly my friend Die-Die (Diane). We're in drawing class together and I'll think up this great thing to draw or this spiffy quote for something and she'll say she was thinking the same thing ("Chibi Chichiri continuously chomping chedder cheese" ^^). It's really weird, but funny.
Kanariya
I do get sudden bursts of energy at times. I love writing stories, and for fun *burst of energy insterted here* I write them all the time on my computer and then suddenly my energy goes away and I never finish it. The story ends up deleted and another idea is completely wasted. Heh, my luck. When you said 'Creative Juices', I got a sudden idea. I love to mix juices together; Root Beer/Sprite, Coke/Cream Soda...heh you name it. Different sodas mixed together and I'd drink it.

I'm pretty much the same way; I usually end up writing several pages of a story or journal entry immediately after attempting to go to bed. This isn't problematic during the summer, but right now the lack of sleep is really beginning to affect my concentration. My midterm exams are coming up, so I'll need to start stifling my creative urges if I want to have any hope of passing all my classes. It feels truly wonderful when one's words start flowing naturally and effortlessly. Though I can write well during the day, for some reason I work best either late at night or very early in the morning. Perhaps it's because fatigue makes me feel more relaxed; I honestly can't say what causes my nocturnal creativity. ~Dagger~
eleanor
I usually get creative bursts right after I watch a great movie. I always get great ideas and start writing on the computer, but after the first two sentences, I drop dead and think for the next two hours. It's usually very hard for me to write freely and non-stop for long periods of time unless I'm writing an essay or something that is assigned. Or unless I actually have the plot down in everything for narrative stories, which is highly unusual.
DeathBug
You know, and I'll bet this isn't unique in the least, but I get creatively inspired by music. Any type of music that I'm at all partial to gets my gears whirring. I have soundtracks in my head to various animes, comics, my life, etc. This is why I really wanted to make my own music videos. Sadly, I lack the tech for it. Alas.
Lady Asphyxia
The way I get inspired is to not let the idea take over. I know that sounds odd, but when I get an idea for a story, I sit on it for a while and look at the angles and let the characters grow and evolve, before I get anywhere close to putting anything on paper. I prefer not to set down character attributes, because it makes me think of them as fake. A real character can't be defined that easily, so I don't do it when I write. As for looking for inspiration, I suppose I don't. Sometimes ideas just appear in my head, and I let them fester until I'm ready to write them. Other times they're because of two similar things happening at once. One song or one TV show can never inspire my by itself. I often work best at night, because that's when I'm most awake. Otherwise, I can make myself work, but it's hard.
SasukeUchiha
YEs, lately I have had super inspiration for art. I do not know what it is. Of course I am wierd...last thing I got inspiration from was a garage door lol. So maybe its not just the time, maybe im just a wierdo.
Artemis
Lady Asphyxia, that makes sense. You have really have to look at things before running away with a story idea. That can be my problem a times. Which is why all of my books end at about chapter four....lol

RainbowChick
yeah i totally know what u mean. i do draw all the time and sometimes nothing comes out right. then, i'd like be sitting in math class, doodling (what? it's math!), and get this sudden burst of inspiration and draw the most amazing thing ever. same thing with writing poetry. i mean i can write really touching poetry but if i have that creative energy burst, it makes my writing so much nicer! :D the things that get me inspired are music, movies, books. anything out of the usual gets me thinking. art is another thing that really inspires me. and sometimes, just doing nothing and zoning out gives me the neatest ideas ever!
Haruhara Haruko
Most of the time the music I am listening to will inspire me to do something amazing. I sometimes get inspiration from a person, or object I just see laying around. Some days I will just be walking down the halls in school, or sitting in study hall, when I get this sudden burst of creativity. My best artwork are the ones that I had absolutely no intention of making.
