Turkey
After a long, tiring week, I have finally done the last grayscaled scene for the competition I'm participating in. After the fiasco that was the "Escape" scene (such long render times should be illegal!), I decided to go for a simple, darker theme. I am really happy with the result, especially since I did it in about than 2 hours (I had to send all my scenes for printing today). While I noticed some errors in the blood, I probably won't touch this scene again. Still, I'd really appreciate any and all C&C, since I have a little over a month for the big art competition ($25,000 scholarship for the winner!), in which I have to show off 7 freaking scenes with a variety of styles.......... ......I'm not surviving this Winter.... DeadSeraphim
It's fabulous, I love the way you have captured the grain in the wood. But I agree with you when you say the blood looks a bit... 'iffy'. Not quite as real as the rest of the scene.
Semjaza
It looks good. I like the way it kind of looks like a cheap, grainy camera shot. The blood is definitely an issue though. It stands out so much, I think mostly because it's just one solid color. The knife looks a little odd too. And is it just me, or are you posting this elsewhere too? There seems to be an inordinate amount of Guests viewing this picture at any given time lol.
Kanariya
Nice work here. The grayscale is cool looking, though the knives don't really seem to fit the picture. They stand out throughout the whole picture, and look more realistic. Some people might like that, but I think the knives are a little too 'real' looking for the picture.
AzureWolf
>_< You should have left a little note about your change of plans in your previous thread... The texture on the wood is very nice, but what is that stuff that's falling from the sky and following that knife on the floor? It looks weird - seems like it doesn't belong. Then again, I don't know what it is.
Turkey
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel And is it just me, or are you posting this elsewhere too? I post this on the Elysiun forums too (by the way, that's the forum for the CG program I use). As far as I know, there are no rules agaisn't this. But if there are, please tell me so I stop doing that. For some reason, even though I used Toon shading for everything on the scene (as I do with almost everything), the knives are the only items to really look Toon-shaded. I was originally going to change that, but I wanted to make them stand out over the rest of ther scene. Also, they were supposed to reflect the table and the ceiling, but for some reason it didn't work.
Semjaza
Not as far as I know, but I was just curious heh. That's all. I think the knives would look quite a bit better if you did get that reflection to work, personally. I don't think they're as much of an issue as the blood, however.
