Dragon Warrior Posted January 8, 2004 Share Posted January 8, 2004 Back in October, I started doodling these humorous comic books, each having an average of 10 to 12 pages. It was called [b]Concerning Midgets[/b], playing off of the LOTR saying "Concerning Hobbits". Well, it's a LOTR parody. Instead of hobbits, we have midgets and stuff like that. Well, I made about 5 of them back in October, then stopped. Now I'm back here in 2004 makin' more and I'm up to 7. I'll slowly post each comic book one at a time and you may enjoy what I work on :) I do warn ya, though. Some of these comic books may spoil LOTR for those who haven't read the books or seen the movies since it follows the storylines a tad bit :< Anyways, the main plot is Skateron (Sauron-ripoff) made a ring because he thinks it makes him cool like Tony Hawk, but got beat up for bragging about it, and then it was sent off to be destroyed at Mt. Doom by the UPS company. That's the basic plotline, but this thing has become quite the adventure. So sit back, crack your fingers to annoy the people next to you, and ENJOY! [B][u]Cast[/u][/B] [i]Midget Joe-[/i] Frodo ripoff and main hero. He has the ring, word! [i]Wade the Lamer-[/i] Samwise Gamgee ripoff and the idiot sidekick. He's just... yeah... [i]Skateron-[/i] The main villain (Sauron ripoff) who is not only trying to get his ring back, but is an all-star skateboarder. Rock on! [i]Gandude-[/i] Gandalf ripoff. He's da shiz, word! [i]Pimpin-[/i] Pippin ripoff. "OH YEAH!" [i]Mary-[/i] Merry ripoff. Isn't "Mary" a girl's name? [i]Skinny Wraith-[/i] The leader of the Blingwraiths. [i]Small Wraith-[/i] The tough, second-in-command Blingwraith. [i]Fat Wraith-[/i] The stupid, fat Blingwraith. I think your artisticness has come a long way, I thought it was really good how you kept the characters looking the same through out it instead of changing them (which usually happens) Awesome Idea about it being a LOTR rip-off, Pimpin is awesome! It's amazing how many different ideas you can come up with. Really, not a lame moment in this comic, great lotr parody. It is really good how you kept them looking the same throughout the comic. Ya see, I mostly work on them throughout classes at school so if you add up all the times I work on them, it's most likely 1-2 hours. I think that your hand-written comics are better than most of your recent Disasterpiece movies. I dunno, I guess they just have sort of lost their luster. They're still great, and they have some really funny stuff, but this is just.. New and improved, in my eyes. I like the style you used in drawing Skaterman. It really fits his skateboard-obsessive, "Sk8tr speak" persona that he so perfectle emenates. I enjoy where you're going with this, and I truly hope to see a lot more of your hand-drawn comics in the future. [b]Part One grade: 8.8[/b] Just put a little more effort into the drawings. It was an exellant laugh, and I can't wait til the next one. I'm not sure making the people better drawn would help any, because it actually (in my mind) adds to the craziness, therefore making it more hillarious. But I'm no artist so what do I know... This was a very funny read, and I look forward to the third installment with immense anticipation. Just one small criticism. Some of the writing, especially in the second installment, was small and hard to read. Mind making it a little bigger next time? I'm glad you did because I was wondering... I wonder if he knew the ring Tony Hawk was wearing was most likely a weeding ring. But it's better that he fourged a ring instead of a wife. 0_____o Heh that would deffinatly be interesting. I totally need to show this to my Languge Arts teacher. he has a whole board full of pictures from LOTR. he even made us write a paper on Eowyn and the Nazgul. He had this awsome picture of Eowyn fighting the Nazgul and we had to build it around that pic. We couldn't use the books. And before the last movie cam eout he showed us perviews for it.
