Soundtrack of your Life

Well, we've often run accross such threads as "Which song describes you?" I got into a discussion to this effect recently; what I decided was thatt he question is flawed.

To imagine that a single song could sum up the complex sides of a person is a bit ridiculous, so I propose going one step further, and creating a soundtrack for your life.

So, for myself, I've choosen a modern rock type sound, but not so heavy, because it simply doesn't match my personality. Here we go:

Thing Called Love-The Darkness: While a newer single, this song basically sounds like me while enamored. It's not too deep, because most crushes aren't, but it's sweet.

Dancin' with Myself-Blink-182: This remake of a Billy Idol song totally sums up my social life, which is kind of sad...

She's Got Issues-The Offspring: For some great, unknown reason, I attract girls with issues. I do'nt know why.

The Art of Loosing-American Hi-Fi: I'm not really a 'rebellious' person. This song is about as rebellious as I get. Although, "Knock me down I'll keep on movin'/It's the art of loosing" is also sadly indicative of a flaw of mine; I just don't know when to give up. ^^;

Good Riddance-Green Day: They will play this at my funneral, for very personal reasons. Not to offend, but I'm not going to go into them here.
So, tell us; what's on your life's soundtrack?

-?Faith of the Heart? Written by Diane Warren and performed by Russell Watson.

This song really surprised me when I first heard it. It?s the theme song to UPN 38?s Enterprise, and I immediately went online and stole it after I heard it. It?s a beautiful song, and hard to describe unless you?ve heard it.

I know that one of my songs would be "Time's Up" by Saga. This song really sums up my life. I never have enough time to do anything that i really want to do. I have to go to school...go to work....do homework....and right now....build my bridge from toothpicks for physics class...and write my book. I never have any free time it seems, and when i do, i'm usually sleeping.

I'm lucky enough to have a song written about me (well, not really but it has my name and basically describes me to a T.) It's Matchbox 20's hit single "Bent" and basically sums up my being,

Can you help me I'm Bent
I'm so scared that I never get put back together
Keep breaking me in
And this is how it will end
With you and me bent.

Well, here is my list:

Hallelujah-Rufus Wainwright(version): It was my aunt and uncles wedding song and my uncle passed almost two years ago. If you listen to the words, I think it is one of the most beutiful songs ever.

Till I Collapse-Eminem: It sums up how hard we worked when I wrestled in high school. Lot of blood, sweet, and tears

Flood-Jars of Clay: My faith and how I feel a lot of the times.

Storm-Lifehouse: Another song that describes my faith and how I feel. It is a deep song

Taking Over Me-Evanescene: It means something to me, a feeling, a state of mind maybe. I just think it would follow me.

With Karate I'll kick your ***-Tenacious D: It is goofy and it is funny, that is me.

Show me how to live-Audioslave: I think this is a bit of everyone. Everyone is looking for directions, or the right way to live sometimes.

This is a really hard question to answer, since I go all over the place with music and emotions. But I'll try my best
1.)Forever Love by Reba McIntyre-I heard this song at the Girl's Night Out Concert back in 2001. The back ground was all these pictures of military families and at the end they showed the Vietnam War Memorial and a guy leaning on it.
The Song makes me think of my long distance relationship with Lincoln.
2.)Ice Cream by Sarah McLachlinIt's an up beat easy to listen to song that's nice and upbeat. I really can't explain why else I like it.
3.)Mummers Dance by Loreena McKennitVery pretty song. It kind of reminds me of a combination of Mid Summer's eve and Winter Solstice. I don't know why. I also use this song when I want to meditate.
4.)Waltz of the Flowers from the NutcrackerOnly because I did a dressage piece to this song for the Christmas show. I don't have much of a special connection with this song unless you count the fact that I got a 1/2 shire mare to do a piaf.
[b5.)]Ain't no Cure For the Sumer Time Blues I don't know who sings this song, but it's 3 degrees outside with a wind chill of -10 so I have a craving for summer right now.
6.)The Anthem by Good Charlotte You, I never wanna be just like you! This is the Anthem, throw all your hands up! Basically it says to me, I don't wanna be like anyone else.
7.)Boys of Summer the Atari's VersionI know how to play the bass rythm to this song and I really realy love this song. Oh, and once when Lincoln, Tommee, Barb and I were crammed into the front of my car Lincoln leaned over and whispered in my ear 'I can tell you, my love for you will still be strong' It's ione of the few songs I can get him to sing and he has a nice voice.
8.)Bloody Valentine by Good Charlotte It's a very disturbing song with an excellent beat. Kinda like my life.
9.)You're not the Boss of me by They Might Be Giants Just a really neat and off beat song by an off beat band that has an accordian in the instruments.
10.)Istanbul not Constantinople also by They Might Be Giants Mostly because I read a fanfic called Fluffy San not Lord Sesshomaru and had that stuck in my head. Oh, and my friend Amanda and I went driving around upper class suburbs blasting Flood once.
11.)Get over Yourself by Shedaisy This song reminds me of a clingy girl who wouldn't leave me alone and an ex boyfriend who wouldn't catch a clue.
12.)Night to remember by SheDaisy A really cool revenge song. Sure, she kills herself in the process, but she does kill her cheating husband as well.
13.)Survivor by Reba McIntyre Just because I've been thru some crap not as much crap as other people. but enough crap to make me think of myself as a survivor.
14.)Things Just Keep getting Better The fab five opening song. I can't think of teh groups that plays it or the lady that sings it, but it's a cheery optomistic song.
15.)I'll be It's a really romantic song. and it's one of the songs that played when I danced with Lincoln at my wedding. But I'm a sappy romantic.
16.) Every HEart by BoA Really pretty song, my favorite verse is in my quotes.
17.)Leather and Lace by Stevie Nicks and a guy I can't think of right now Another song I played at my wedding. It was playing in the car one day when I was driving around with Lincoln and just stuck.
I have a few more, but they're rather fluffy.

One song that really describes my life is Perfect by Simple Plan. It's about how this person is trying to live up to his/her parents' expectations and are having hard time dealing with it. dropping out of school, flunking subjects and so on. Course, i haven't gone that far, just enought to let the ppl i that i know know that i can't be perfect. I also really like the song just cause. well that's the only 'issue' in my life worth mentioning, other than that, i'm great!
some other songs that i like are Numb, Somewhere I Belong, Paper Cut, In the End, pretty much anything by Linlin Park. I also am a fan of Good Charlotte, Blink 182, and many others. I'm not a fan of Nickle Back but I love that song called Someday. It is so awesome!:)

Alright, here is the "official" soundtrack to my life.

1. Nice Guys Finish Last - Green Day: Well, for one I am a very nice guy and apparently some people fail to see that in me. Sometimes I try so hard to please others, but get nothing in return.

2. Addicted - Simple Plan: Heh, what can I say? When I enjoy something, sometimes I carry it a bit too far. Once I get something I don't really like to let it go.

3. Self Esteem - Offspring: As the song says, "I know you are playing with me, but that's okay because I have no self esteem." It pretty much describes my last relationship.

4. Serenity - Godsmack: I like to sit and reflect about myself and what is going through my life quite a bit. More than not I need something to carry through the rest of the day.

5. Come As You Are - Nirvana: When people are around me, I want them to be themselves. As a lot of you know, people like to put on a facade in public places, pretending to be something that they're not. I think it is kinda sad that people put on shows like that just to impress.

6. Behind Blue Eyes - Limp Bizkit: A very emotional song. I think it describes me all to well, more than most songs. People can't understand what I am all about, and it really gets to me sometimes.

7. Basket Case - Green Day: Hey, everyone has a crazy side to them. Sometimes I do give myself the creeps, it is pretty funny actually and my mind plays tricks on me all the time. This is another good song to describe me.

That's about it. If you listen to all of these songs, a lot of them are kind of depressing. Ha! Oh well, I enjoy all these songs and they seem to describe me well.
