Neko
OOC-I hope everyone's ready for this twist, get ready... IC-Desperately, Kite tried one last hack to get him and Yuki out of Net Slum. His bracelet began to glow, and when it grew to it's full size, he shouted,"Aqua Capital Mac Anu!"He raised his right hand towards the sky, and the image of Net Slum shattered, not so unlike glass, before his very eyes. Once again, Kite and Yuki appeared some tweny feet up in the air, and Yuki got lucky, because she landed on Kite, injuring her sizably less than hitting the ground would have. As Yuki went into her swearing fit, Kite logged out. Too much had happened already today. ---------------------------------------------- -----=====the real world=====----- ---------------------------------------------- Kite re-emerged into the world, shaking his head a bit, working the muscles in his neck, stretching out. For a while he just sat at his ALTIMIT terminal, thinking about what he could do. "Hey, maybe I'll go to the park,"He decided. He had always been able to think better while on a walk. A T.V. in the living room was blairing out a news flash. ---and in other news, a sudden temperature drop occuring in southern Tokyo, so bundle up good if you're going outside--- So, he put on a heavy coat, and walked out into the now frozen park. As he approached the central fountain, with the water frozen in mid-air, he saw a person lying face-first in the snow, a laptop resting upside down nearby. "Now who the heck would be so stupid?"He wondered, approaching the person. He saw that he was looking at a girl, a young girl around the age of thirteen. She was wearing a light T-Shirt, and blue jeans. She was obviously underdressed for her current location. As he walked closer, he noticed a vague familiarity in her appearance. There was something too recognizable about her hair, her size, her shirt... Her shirt. A massive chill flew down Kite's spine as he remembered her, the girl he had met on the steps of the museum earlier. He ran down to her, and ripped off her VR Helmet, and staring at him now were the cold, lifeless eyes of the very person he had been helping in "the World". "Oh, my god, Kia,"Kite gasped,"Holy Shit! 911! Somebody call an ambulance! C'mon, there's a body over here!"Just about everyone within a one mile radius heard him. When the ambulance arrived, a middle-aged man asked him what was wrong, he simply pointed at the girl at his feet, the frozen, limp, lifeless body of his new friend, and fighting back the tears, managed to utter one single word, his voice trembling: "Kia." And with that, he ran back to his house, dashed up the stairs, and slammed the door to his room. He shoved his head into a pillow, shouting. "Kia! Kia! Kia! KIA! KIA! NOOO!" He refused to come out again for thirteen hours. When he came into his senses again, he vowed to himself that he would never tell Kia the truth about what had happened to her. It would crush her poor soul... OOC-Well, ladies and gents, the cat's outta the bag. How's that for a new turn? This is not the end...it has only begun...
DDG
OOC- My, that is a very interesting twist. IC- As Kayla and Kana walked down to the end of the alley, they saw Kia's character disappear. "Where did she go?" Kana asked. Kayla shook her head. "I have no idea. Maybe something happened in the real world and she didn't have time to log out or something." Kayla concluded. Kana slowly nodded. "Well, do you want to go to an area or something?" she asked. Kayla nodded. "Yeah sure. We could catch up on old times." she said smiling. "I found this new area. It's really beautiful." Kayla and Kana quickly ran to the Chaos Gate. Real World After logging out, Kayla took off her Neuro Goggles and put her controller down. She walked into her living room and turned on the T.V. She flipped it to the news. 'A young teenage girl was found earlier this afternoon outside in the freezing cold weather. She had been playing "The World" Officers said after she was took to the hospital. A young teenage boy had found the girl while walking in the park. The girl's status is currently unknown. A word to everyone watching, remember to dress warmly when going outside!' Kayla flipped the T.V. off and went back into her room. "The World" She logged into "The World" and looked around. She saw Kana on the bridge waiting for her. Kayla ran to the bridge and greeted Kana. "Hey, Kana, did you hear the news? About the girl?" she asked. Kana nodded. "Yeah, I did. It makes you wonder that maybe it was--" "That maybe it was Kia? And that was why she just disappeared?" Kayla finished. Kana nodded. "Kana, lets go to Expansive Gluttonous White Devil and think about this." Kayla suggested. Kana agreed and they both walked to the Chaos Gate. Expansive Gluttonous White Devil Kayla looked around the sparkling white snowy area. She saw Mia and Elk and led Kana over to them. "Mia, Elk, this is Kana, my friend." Kayla said introducing Kana. Mia and Elk said hi. Kayla then explained about what Kana and her had heard about on the news to Mia and Elk. OOC-Hope that was ok. I don't want to mess anything up.
Che
------------------------------------------- Expansive Gluttonous White Devil ------------------------------------------- "It does sound interesting." Mia said. Kana wasn't listening, though she was staring and Mia. "Yes? Is there something wrong?" Mia snapped. Kana almost jumped in suprise. Elk and Kayla almost burst out laughing. "It's just that, you can't get a cat-looking character. Isn't it illegal editing?" Kana asked. Kayla and Elk stopped 'laughing.' It was, of course, a very good question. One Kayla hadn't thought about. Mia gave a mysterious smile. "So what if it is? You're not a system admistrator, and even if you were I wouldn't be worried." She said. Kana smiled, she liked easy-going people. Suddenly, Kana shut her eyes and slapped her head. "I've gotta go. My mom's bugging me to do my chores. There's no negotiating with the woman!" She said. The other three gave a slight chuckle. "Later!" Kana said as she disappeared. -------------- Real World ------------- Kana took her Neural Goggles off after she logged out. A different news channel was on. It was the same story, the one about Kia. Kana shook her head and started washing the dishes.
DDG
Kayla watched as Kana Gated Out. Mia turned to Kayla. "This is a very interesting ordeal. I'm not sure what to say." she suddenly looked around. "I'm sorry, Elk, Kayla, I really must go." she Gated Out and left Elk and Kayla alone in Expansive Gluttonous White Devil. Elk turned to Kayla. "Well, maybe I will go, too." Elk said silently. Kayla looked at him dreamily. "If you don't have to go, why don't we go somewhere together?" she asked him. Elk blushed. "Um, okay." A little later... "Um, that was fun, Kayla. I have to go now. See you tomorrow, maybe." Elk smiled and Gated Out. Kayla smiled to herself. "I better go then, too." she mumbled. Real World Kayla took off her Neuro Goggles and set them on the floor. She walked out into the living room and flipped the channel to the news, hoping to hear more about Kia. OOC- Oh my, things are spicing up between Elk and Kayla, lol.
Che
---------- Email ---------- As soon as Kana was done with the dishes, and the garbage, and eating dinner, she logged back on to the world. First, though, she wrote an email to Kayla. To: Kayla From: Kana Kayla, nice friends. I wish I had more time to talk before. Anyways, about your 'mystery,' you've got to tell me or show me whatever you know already. I'll be at Mac Anu for a while. It'll help a bunch. Kana --------------------------- Aqua Capital Mac Anu --------------------------- Kana appeared in the world. Mac Anu had players scattered about. Most people were eating dinner or spending time with their families right now. Kana walked around, using what gold she had to get a few provisions. She saved after that then went to the top of the bridge and stared at the water. "The graphics in this game...are so real. When I look at the water...it's like I'm actually by it." She said quietly to herself. After about 20 miutes of staring at the water and thinking, she was about to log out when Kayla logged in. Kana smiled. "So are you gonna tell me what you know, or do I have to go all player-killer on you?" She joked. Kayla laughed. "Come on. I'll take you to the place where we got the most, yet the least, amount of info." She said. They walked to the chaos gate, and Kayla said the keywords: Delta Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground. -------------- Real World -------------- After Kana saw all she needed to see, she logged out. It was time to go to bed, and she had school tomorrow. She couldn't sleep though. She was pondering on what the poem inscripted on the statue meant.
DDG
After traveling to Delta Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground with Kana, Kayla and Kana Gated Out to Mac Anu. Back in Mac Anu, Kana said goodbye and Logged Out. Kayla glanced around. There weren't many people because most people were going to bed or already asleep. Kayla sighed and quickly Logged Out before she got yelled at by her mother. Real World Kayla took her Neuro Goggles off and set them down. She got ready for bed but struggled to sleep as her mind went over the past few days events. After about an hour, she drifted off to sleep. 3:15 PM, the next day... Kayla arrived home from school and ran up to her house. She ripped open the slider door and dashed inside. She slipped her shoes off, said a quick hello to her mom's boyfriend and ran to her room. She grabbed her Neuro Goggles and put them on. ALTIMIT Screen Browser Kayla stared at her ALTIMIT Screen Broswer for a moment or two before realizing she had new mail. To: Kayla From: Kana Yesterday was very interesting. I hope we can maybe find out more about this today. Kayla sent a reply. To: Kana From: Kayla Yes, yesterday was very interesting. I haven't heard anything new about Kia. I also hope we can find some more things out today. See you in Mac Anu then. Kayla sent the message and quickly read through her other mail before Logging into "The World". "The World" Kayla looked around Mac Anu for a minute or two, taking in the marvels of its beauty before slowly walking to the bridge. She saw Kana and waved to her.
Neko
OOC-Just on a side note, Kia?s only dead in the real world. She?s still around in ?the World?. Just in case people are confused? IC-Kia was tired of being mocked by passers by for her almost constant crying, so she walked up to the chaos gate, and said,?Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground.?It was the only place she could think of that didn?t have any monsters anymore, and she didn?t feel like fighting right now. She walked up to one of the seats in the ornate cathedral, and stared at the massive statue in the center of the room. She sighed, trying to collect her thoughts.?Why am I trapped here??she wondered.?Maybe?maybe the system?s bugged or something, and it?s keeping me from getting out.?She had heard about the trapped players from a few years back, namingly a player named Tsukasa, who had become infamous for causing havoc in ?the World? once their player had become trapped, but Kia had never seriously believed that sort of thing still happened. Focusing herself again, she concentrated instead on the mystery surrounding the beautiful statue standing before her, and it?s possible connection to the mystery surrounding her friend, Kiara. She began to examine the statue, trying her best to ignore the fact that she could actually feel the marble stone as she ran her hands across the inscription at it?s base. She had just finished reading the mysterious poem carved into the marble slab when a man shouted at her from the doorway. His sudden presence in the room almost made Kia faint. ?What do you think you?re doing here?!?the man shouted at her. His character was very strange to her; he looked almost like an angel in her eyes. He had huge wings on his back, and projecting from his arms. ?I said, what are you doing here?!?he repeated, suddenly walking towards her, with all the authority of a system administrator in his step. Extremely surprised that she had been found here, all Kia could do was babble incomprehensively.?Who, me? I, um, er?well, I, wa-was?er, um?thinking? About?um, some-something?? ?Get out of here now! It?s too dangerous here!?the man shouted back, sprinting towards Kia. Suddenly, the system bugged out seriously, and a gigantic monster appeared in mid-air, dropping down in between the man and Kia. With a huge leap, the angelic figure jumped into the air, hovered for a moment, and unsheathed his sword. Then, as he came flying down, he bought his sword down with a massive swing upon the monster?s chest, as it had no head. The creature crumpled under his mighty power, but as it began to disappear, it got back up, renewed strength entering its body, and with an omnipresent roar echoing from nowhere, it turned an eerie glowing green color. ?This one as well!?the man exclaimed, awe and surprise in his eyes. And now fear as well, it was becoming clear: the man feared this monster. As he began to step away, Kia suddenly saw Kite running into the hallway. He jumped into the air, and his wrist began to glow. Apparently, he wasn?t sure why this was happening, because he was acting rather startled. Suddenly, a huge star-point shaped object formed around Kite?s wrist, and he screamed. The star thing opened up, and bands of data shot towards the monster, ripping the data out from its body. As Kite fell from the air, the angelic man killed the monster again with a massive swipe from his blade. The monster fell in two, dead. The man turned towards Kite, who was saying in surprise,"Th-that was like the time when?when Orca?" ?I see,?said the man,?You are the same as the virus. I did not expect to find you so soon?now fight me! Fight or die!?The man unsheathed his sword again. No! It?s not what you think! I?m not a virus! I won?t fight!?Kite shouted back. ?We will see??the man replied,?I just require the time to think this through. But if I find that you are?indeed in with them?I will kill you.?And with that, the man logged out. Heavily shaken by the fight she?d just seen, all Kia could say to kite was,?How did you find me?? ?Hacking,?Kite replied, and with that, he gated out as well, leaving Kia once again alone in the chapel. Still wanting more time to think, Kia once again sat down at a seat, as though nothing had even happened.
DDG
OOC-Ok, I understand now. IC-"Did you hear?" a player asked another as Kayla and Kana walked up to the Chaos Gate. "No, what?" "About that girl, who's been crying?" "Oh her, yeah, I saw her today. I really don't know where she went though." "I think she went to Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground. I don't know why she would want to. There's nothing there but a church like castle." "Well, it was her decision." the two players Logged Out. Kayla looked at Kana. "You think we should go there? And ask what's going on?" Kana nodded. "Yeah, the last time I heard of something like this was a few years ago with that boy, Tsukasa." "Yeah, I remember that." Kayla said and then said the keywords. Delta Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground Kayla and Kana slowly walked up the front steps to the church-like castle. As they stepped inside, they saw an angel-like Blademaster and Kite Gate Out. Kayla noticed Kia, sitting down over by the ghostly statue. Kayla walked over to her with Kana following.
Neko
OOC-Wow I had to go back to page 1 to find the main story...that's scary... Kayla and Kana walked up to the chair that Kia was sitting on. She seemed slightly shaken by something. "Hey, what's up, Kia?"asked Kayla. "Oh, I've just been thinking about a few things..."Kia replied. "Well, I have to go to dinner...I'll be back in a little while!"said Kayla. "My parents are calling me, too. Bye!"agreed Kara. Kia suddenly remembered that they had been invited to a dungeon by Kite, and that they were supposed to meet him in "Kia's ally", but the group had been interrupted several times, and had'nt been able to get there. "Hey, wait, we're supposed to g-"Kia began, but the others had already logged out. Sighing, Kia got off the bench, and gated out back to town. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -----====="the World", Aqua Capital Mac Anu=====----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ As Kia warped back into the root town, she realized that being locked in, for whatever reason, might not be such a bad thing. Now, she could not only see the beautiful river, but she could smell it, touch it, and life, for a moment at least, was good. "Stop lying to yourself,"she scolded herself. "you know that you want to get out of here." She walked up the bridge, and some guys glanced at her and began laughing. One of them walked over to her, and wit hhis massive hand he pushed her down to the ground, laughing. "Hey, stop that!"Kia shouted, wincing at the pain. "What're you gonna do? Cry about it?"the man jested, laughing at his wit. Kia was finally tired of being mocked. Completely forgetting a term called 'Player Kill', she got up and stomped over to the man. Looking up at him (for he was nearly twice as tall), she said,"Do you have a problem with crying?!" "Oh, so you can do more than just pout, eh?"the man jeered, fueling Kia's rage. "Don't you EVER make fun of me again!"Kia shrieked, and as she said that, she rammed one of her daggers into the player where it hurts men most. Be the time he or his friends realized what had just happened, Kia was already at the dead end of her ally, panting for her breath. Kite was there, and in the hall they waited for Kayla and Kana, discussing their next destination: Delta-Hidden-Expansive-Sea of Sand.
DDG
Kayla Logged Out and took off her Neuro Goggles. She walked out of her room and grabbed dinner. ALTIMIT Browser Kayla checked her mail before logging into "The World". There was a message from Kite. To: Kayla From: Kite Meet me in Kia's Alley, ASAP. Kayla then remembered that she was supposed to meet Kite in Kia's Alley a long time ago. Aqua Capital Mac Anu Just as Kayla Logged In to "The World", Kana did as well. They greeted each other and made there way to Kia's Alley. They talked about what they had for dinner while they slowly walked past the Magic Shop. They walked down to the end of the alley and saw Kite and Kia talking. "Glad you could make it, Kayla, and you, uh--" Kana interupted Kite. "My name's Kana, and yours?" she asked. "I'm Kite, nice to meet you. Well, glad you two girls could make it." Kite then explained that they were going to the dungeon of Delta Hidden Expansive Sea of Sand. "Sounds interesting." Kayla said and Kana nodded. Kite looked at the three girls. "Lets get going then." he smiled and led them out of the alley.
Neko
OOC-Oops, I've been spelling 'Alley" wrong this whole time...Hehehehehe... IC-After discussing the situation at length (everyone keeping their mouths shut about Kia's death), the group decided to head for Delta-Hidden-Expansive-Sea of Sand. As they headed towards the chaos gate, they got jumped by the group of men that had paid for taunting Kia earlier. One of the men had a knife handle protruding from a slightly unbecoming spot. Seeing this, Kia blushed slightly and tried to hide her other knife behind her back. Unfortunately, it was a bit late for that: the men had spotted her. Shoving Kia down to the bridge floor, the man she had wounded tore her blade out from himself. Unsheathing his sword and placing it's tip on the outside of her shoulder, the man spoke acidly to her: "You think that was funny, back there?"He growled,"Well I'll have you know that your little attack did damage. And I exact revenge on people who hurt this player,"He continued, beginning to pierce her flesh, and drawing the blade down her arm,"Point...for...point..."he concluded with an evil smirk. And as his blade reached her hand, only then did he notice a pool of red, seeping out from her arm. As Kia herself saw this, her eyes grew wide with horror, and she let out a blood-curdling scream that blew out everyone's sound system after about a half a second. Gasping now with the loss of blood, Kia could only turn her head off to one side, whispering desperately to her friends,"Please...please hel-help m-me..." OOC-A not so minor minor sideshow. I shall survive...
DDG
OOC- Yes, you're right. You have been spelling "alley" wrong. You've been saying "ally". I can't believe I didn't catch that... IC- Kayla gasped. "Kia..." she turned to Kite. "Kite, you take care of Kia." he nodded and kneeled down next to Kia. He pulled her away from the men. Kayla looked at Kana. "Kana, you and I, will make them pay!" Kayla yelled out and pointed her wand at the men. Kana nodded. Kayla waved her wand around. "Subelei!(sp?)" she shouted and one of the men became paralyzed. Kana smirked and began slashing at another man. He jumped backwards as Kana came closer and closer to him. Kana then got close enough to slash him. He fell backwards, over the bridge railing, and into the water. Kana quickly walked back to where Kia and Kite were and let Kayla take care of the last man. Kayla heard a splash and knew that Kana had took care of the other man, which just left the man who had sliced Kia. Kayla turned to him and stared at him menacingly. She slowly walked closer to the man, as did the man to her. The man suddenly slashed at her. She ducked and moved out of the way. "You can't trick me..." she mumbled and began to wave her wand around again. "Oh yeah?" the man challenged and swung his sword at her. Kayla jumped out of the way. "Juk lei!" she yelled and waved her wand one last time. The man laughed. "What did you do? Nothing's wrong with--" he then noticed something. His Health was dropping. "You poisoned me you *bleep*!" he charged at her again. Kayla ducked and the man fell over her, into the water. She walked down the bridge a little, to join Kana, Kite and Kia.
Neko
Kia was dropping in and out of death, owing to the now serious lack of blood she had. As the battle above her ended with a splash, she weakly reached into the air, and drew a small cross-shaped figure form her inventory. With the last of her strength, she muttered to the cross:"Phal Repth..." These words activated the wonderous healing powers of the Divine Cross that Kia had traded away most of her possetions in "the World" for earlier, before she had met her new friends. The item "Devine Cross" glimmered for a moment, and then suddenly shot out a a wave of light so intense that it almost burned out everyone's moniter. As they were all bathed in the holy aura of the cross, all of their hit points were restored, and the massive gash running down Kia's arm healed itself as if it had never been there. After a few moments, the light winked out as the cross dissolved away into nothing. Kia staggered up onto the bridge, thanking the lord almighty that she was alive. The rest of the party was relatively unaffected by the cross, because the evil men hadn't been able to so much as lay a finger on them. Kayla helped Kia up onto her feet, seeing that she was having a little trouble walking on her own. "Woah, Kia. Where'd you get that item?"asked Kayla. "A player traded it to me. Her name was...Heavy, I think. She had a bad connection,"Kia replied."Anyways, where were we going again?" "We were headed for Delta-Hidden-Expansive-Sea of Sand,"Kayla answered. "Oh, yeah,"Kia trailed off as the group finally reached the Chaos Gate, uttering the keywords. <^>Protected=You can not warp to this area.<^> "Huh?"everyone but Kite wondered. "This is no problem. Leave it to me,"Kite laughed. His fist was glowing again. Kia realized that this must mean he was hacking. As a strange, pixelly bracelet-shaped thing formed around Kite's wrist, he opened his palm in the direction of the Chaos Gate. "Delta-Hidden-Expansive-Sea of Sand!"He shouted. The translucent blue interior of the portal shattered like glass, and then, eveyone in the group was flying through the data-encoded world, able to see the very codes that bound "the World" together. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -----==="the World", Delta-Hidden-Expansive-Sea of Sand===----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As "the World" pieced itself together around them, they immediatly saw something strange. There were holes in the field, holes that you could look into and still see the data codes of "the World". Un-deterred by this obvious sign of ill news, the group wandered towards the dungeon. OOC-At this point, we won't actually fight any of the phases. Just to ensure acuracy of the story.
DDG
The group wandered past numerous portals, a few having treasure chests while the others having monsters. The Area Level was low so it was easy for Kite, Kayla and Kana. Kia was struggling in the area. She was much lower level than everyone else but she was perservering. Because her level was so low, though, she was leveling up every few battles. After the group defeated the last portal in the field, they ran to the dungeon. They ran into the entrance of the dungeon. It looked like a large dragons head because it was a flesh wall dungeon. Inside they looked around, astonished. The inside of the dungeon had holes with lines of data showing. Suddenly, a flash went through the screen but was gone as soon as it had come. "This, this is weird. I've never experienced anything like this before." Kayla muttered. Kana nodded but Kite and Kia remained silent. The group continued on through the next few rooms fighting monsters and collecting treasure and eggs.
Che
Everyone walked into the next room. "Hey look! Its a Golden Egg!" Kana exclaimed running off. Kayla sighed. "You just can't get in the way with Kana and her Grunties..." She said, shaking her head. It was true though, Kana was obsessed with raising Grunties. "Hey Kayla, do you think I could grow a Bone Grunty with ten Golden Eggs, three Cordyseps, and fifteen La Pumpkins?" Kana asked as they walked into the next room. Kayla shrugged. "Who knows, I'm not a Grunty expert." She replied. They were so destracted, they missed the fact that Kia and Kite were fighting. Kayla grabbed Kana's arm and they joined the fight. "Cause you know that I can't raise anything but Noble Grunties....Juk Cruz!" She yelled, casting a spell on a monster. "Well, I'm sorry to be a wet blanket here, but I need to be ressurected!" Kia yelled. She was in the middle of the room, as pale as a ghost. Suddenly, sparkles surrounded her and she was back to her normal colors. Soon after, they left the room and arrived at the next basement level.
DDG
OOC- Hehe, you and your Noble Grunties, lol. IC- As they walked down the stairs to the next Basement Level Kayla and Kana were still discussing Grunties. "I think it's really funny that you can only raise Noble Grunties because, even though I'm not an expert, I've raised a Noble Grunty, a
Poison Grunty
, a
Iron Grunty
, a Bony Grunty, and an
Aqua Grunty
." Kayla said, laughing. Kana hit her on the shoulder. "Shut up!" Kayla kept laughing as the group walked into the next room. A portal whirled and spun as a few monsters appeared. The group fought the monsters off before heading to the next room. OOC- Can't type much *coughs*. I am sick. *coughs* And I can't think of much to type about. *coughs again* I couldn't help but use the spoiler tags, I know I told Mai some of the Grunties but I don't know if she remembers and I'm going to make her find out on her own. *laughs then has coughing fit*
Neko
To walk down a dungeon inside a monster is a terrifying thing. The only way to know exactly how horrible a place like this was, however, was to be trapped inside 'the World'. Kia was now experiencing the full effect of 'the World's awsome data programming. When you take a step, you can feel the ground as it yields to your weight, only to spring back up with a wet bouncing noise when you pick your foot back up. The air is stuffy and rancid with the stench of the wriggling walls which, if you dare touch them, leave a sticky, slimy residue on your hand. Kia felt she could nearly throw up with the general rottennes of the place. "Who needs all this excess programming?"she thought out loud. Puzzled, Kayla turned around."Huh?" "It's just that...you guys couldn't know...this place stinks. Everything is wet and sticky. So I was just thinking, someone must have had a lot of free time on their hands to program all this data, this...ungh..."Kia couldn't finish, because at this point, she succeeded in 'losing her lunch', so to speak, all over the ground. "...Okay, that's just gross...Kana and Kayla both muttered as Kia pulled herself back up. She looked like she was about to cry, or something. Instead, she wiped off her mouth with the back of her left glove and started walking down the foul hallway again. Squish, squish, squish... Finally, they arrived at the third-floor-basement. The data-corruption down here was really bad down here...the whole room was practically orange with holes in the visual layout. Afraid of what might happen if she actually touched them, Kia stayed away from the walls, and was very cautious about where she stepped. Squish, squish, squish, zzzaaappp That funny sound of background noise started buzzing, and the field was wiped away from around the party. A few seconds later, they were standing on a pulsating blue rock with what looked loke mummification bandages wrapped poorly around it. A shrill, high-pitched ringing sound replaced the normal field music. All other sounds ceased, even the sound of their footsteps. And standing there, in the middle of it all, was Aura. Aura, child of light, the only gleam of something good and pure in this corrupted, foul game. "I'm glad you have come so far..."she said in her light, angelic voice,"but...I'm afraid you're too late...It's coming...Skeith is almost here...you must destroy it!" And as these last words parted with Aura, a huge staff, to which only Kite was familiar, appeared behind her. Seconds later, a strange figure, humanoid, yet seemingly made of rock, and with a stone halo protruding from it's head. It held out it's hand, and with a flash, Aura was no more, just, Kia realized, as Kiara had been. Yet somehow, Aura's voice trailed on for a moment... "The shadow is come...you must fight on..." <^>Phase 1: Skeith-The Shadow of Death<^>
DDG
Kayla stood back, amazed at Skeith. "Its, its nothing like I've ever faught before. Are you sure we can defeat it?" Kayla asked, the question directed towards Kite. He nodded courageously and then charged into battle, slashing at Skeith. Kia and Kana did the same, each using the skills that their weapons gave them, to try and inflict damage upon Skeith. Kayla stood back and used a few scrolls on Skeith. She was a Wavemaster so she had a lot of SP, but she figured that it was better to use up her scrolls rather than to waste her SP using Magic. That SP might be needed later in the battle to heal her friends if they were weak. "Vak Kruz!" she shouted and small fireballs slammed into Skeith. Kia, Kana, and Kite all shouted out attack commands, but none of the attacks seemed to be even harming Skeith the slightest bit. "What's with this thing? Why wont it die?" Kana demanded just as Skeith used a Magical Attack on her. Kayla quickly healed her, she was Paralyzed, with an Antidote. Kana thanked her and continued fighting. Man, this things tough! This battle could go on...forever...I bet.
