Jokopoko
JOURNEY OF THE JEWELS An Elven RPG by Jokopoko and Arcadia Gather round children, as I tell you the tale of 'I Lend uni mîr', but you may know it better as 'The Journey of the Jewels' as it has come to be know by others not of our own kin. It began during Auth ned Naeth, or the War of Woe, were the greatest of our Kin, know as Golradir, created a mighty weapon with the halls of Othrondmir know as Umdagnir, Evils Bane, and he made it in the hopes that he could slay our greatest enemy, the Bronadui Coth, and bring peace and kindness back to Dôr Edhellen so we could once more prosper in this place. But before Golradir could use the weapon he hid it within Malthen Aeglir, the Golden Pecks of Arod Orodrim, as to keep it hidden from Bronadui Coth and ensure that if he failed that we could still survive. But before he could unleash it's power the Enduring Enemy cast him down and he was gone from this world forever. But it was not the end, for after this we were able to drive the enemy and his armies from our land for a time and learn the lost art of staying hidden when thou does not want to be found. But to no avail, he once more found us and began anew his campaign against us and then the Mirdain Tawarwaith, the Jewel Elves, made a bold plan to re-discover the lost weapon Umdagnir and the two chosen to lead the ground bound to find it were Galdor Calafalas, of our Kin, and Inwe Helyanwe who was of the Elenath Tawarwaith kin, simply known as Star Elves. Now listen closely as I begin the tale.... ------------------------Welcome one and all to an RPG created by myself and Arcadia, as you can see this is an Elven Fantasy/Adventure type RPG [Obviously] and the names for places and people come from the Sindarin Elvish created by J.R.R. Tolkien for 'The Lord of the Rings'. I'll give a brief description of the three types of Elves within this RPG. ------------------------The Jewel Elves [Mirdain Tawarwaith] These are one of the only Elven Races that enjoy the Mountain Ranges of Dôr Edhellen, but this is mainly due to their love of jewels, hence their name, and other precious substances. Their main stronghold is Othrondmir, which is Undergound Jewel in the comman tounge. They are very active in the business of the other Elves and are never far away when help is needed by a friend, they are the least recluse of the Elves. The Wood Elves [Taur Tawarwaith] These Elves are in love with all things that grow within the Forests of Dôr Edhellen and have made these areas their homes, within the very forests themselves and around the trees. Their style is very natural and they prefer to allow a situation to grow and change before going headlong into it and risk hurt to them selves. Within their home of Esgaleryn, the Veiled Wood, they are incredibly difficult to find and thus have not been as involved in the Wars as the other Elves have. The Star Elves [Elenath Tawaraith] These Elves have a great understanding of the world around and within Dôr Edhellen and are happy to pass their knowledge to other Elves that may require it from them. They live in the high areas of Dôr Edhellen, above the mountains of the Jewel Elves and so they have the most contact with them, their stronghold is know as Minuial Amru, which is the Dawn of the East. While still concealed they choose to fight with their Jewel Elf kin in the Wars to bring an end to all the conflict. ------------------------There was the basic run down of the types of Elves within the RPG and their main citys or fortresses, as you can see each are different bu similar to each other as to make this RPG more interesting, now the sign up sheet ------------------------Character Sign-up Sheet Name: [Click here to get your Elven name for the RPG] Race: [Which race of Elves are you?] Age: [Between 340 to 560] Gender: [Male/Female] Apperance: [You may write a description or use a picture] Ability: [Star Elves may use some magic; Jewel Elves are stronger than most; Forest Elves are faster and more agile than others] Personality: [How does your character act toward others] Weapon(s): [What weapons does your character have? Two or three weapons max] Biography: [What is your characters past? Note: All characters have grown up within the main cities of each race]------------------------So thats the usual stuff out of the way, I'll post my character and then the rules of the RPG. My Character Sign-up Name: Galdor Calafalas Race: Jewel Elf Age: 436 Gender: Male Apperance: Click here [He is the one to the left of the picture] Ability: As is true with the others of his kin Galdor is stronger than the elves of other races and even those of his kind. He can lift just about six times his body weight and can often brake stone barriers baring the way of himself and others around him. Personality: Galdor, like most of the Mirdian is a kind and gentle person, but as strong and reliable as the mountains in which he lives during a battle. His, more often than not, sunny dispostion allows him to see the better or lighter side of a situation before others do, and this makes them believe he doesn't understand what he's really doing, or why. This is of course false as he is one of the leading members of the Iaur Tirith, which is a council set up by the three Elven races to help in the conflict with the enemy. He rarely thinks before he speaks though, but this can help were snap choices need to be made and other Elves have not the capacity to make them as Galdor does. His kinder side and lighter side comes out when he is with Inwe and they have time to be together, but this can sometimes affect him during battle and quests as he thinks of her safety before his, or the group that he leads. Weapon(s): Sila Hathol, Blade of Shining Light Forged in the caverns of Othrondmir during the hight of the sun long ago when all of the jewels shone with a radiant light and the blade was created. Biography: Galdor was born many moons ago when all of Dôr Edhellen was in the radiant light of the moon before the sun had truely risen and the jewels shone with the light of the stars when Othrondmir was in it's prime, his parents were Finrod Calafalas and his wife Eámanë Calafalas who were high-standing in the governing of Othrondmir and the realms of the Jewel Elves. His mother was very wise and knowledgeable of the workings of Dôr Edhellen whereas his farther was a brave soldier and greatest of warriors within Othrondmir and fought many battles against the Enduring Enemy. When he was young, in Elf terms, he was a frequent visiter to the Star Elf home of Minuial Amru and came to know Inwë. When he first meet her he was in awe of her beauty and took every avalible option to try and impress her or engage her in conversation, but it seemed she was always wishing to avoid him, but he did make severl choice encounters with her and so their relationship bloomed and grew into something more. And when the Jewel Elves were called home from Minuial Amru they were more then friends, but always under the pretence of emissaries and now she came down more often to vist him in Othrondmir. It is now that Galdor came into his own within the halls of Othrondmir after his parents left to go to the world beyond that of Dôr Edhellen. He was brave in battle and fair in matters of governing the land, much like his parents and formed the council of Iaur Tirith and is still it's leading member. He and Inwë would still visit each other regularly, though always under the pretense of emissaries, and thus helped strengthen the bond between the two elf kinds. Now, with another great war looming on them, they?ll need those bonds more than ever? Thought we should have the same ending ;) ------------------------The Catches [Rules of the RPG] 1. Imp
Oooohhh... And RPG for elves only? Cool! (Wonder why no one else joined yet...) I'm guessing that if I'm a Star Elf, I can be someone else other than Inwe... in fact can I make one up? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: Alvador "Ava" Serren Race: Star Elf Age: 365 Gender: Female Appearance: Ava is about 5'2" tall. She has long, silvery white hair and almost clear eyes. Also, she wears a green shirt with a matching skirt with a yellow belt, and short brown boots. She'd sometimes seen draped in a purple hooded cape. Ability: Being a star elf, she is able to use some magic, in her case mostly dark magic. For example, she can block out all light, shrouding everything in darkness within a certain area, and use some hypnotic abilities. (hope that's not too much) Personality: Ava tends to be calm and quiet, and she tends to drift off into space frequently, not remembering what she was supposed to do. She's also very curious, always exploring the land and making observations. Her goal is to find out about just what happens in the world, even outside Dor Edhellen. She's also quite serious; she's not a happy, giggly person. She usually can keep a straight face in funny incidents. When she meets a bully, she would just walk away, muttering "Stupid fool" or something. And in the face of an enemy... she'd use her magic powers on them. *evil grin* Weapon: a dark sword and a mini staff Biography: Ava has wandered around Dor Edhellen for years, trying to figutre out what everything in the world she knew could mean. She's always identified herself as sort of a philosopher, always finding out things and making philosophocal theories. She was always good at that. Occasionally she would protect the land from villains; she was getting skilled at that as well. Basically, her life was a circle of reasoning until the enemy returned... When it did return, Ava was astonished; she found one town set on fire, and there were jewel elves running around frantically, desperately trying to save themselves. She kept thinking, "Why is this happening? Could it be the work of the enemy? If so, how can I stop this... My magic cannot put out flames... Well now I know. Now I know that the enemy can use some fire abilities. Another part of my theory. To stop the enemy, I must learn... water... Or wind, an excellent force to blow away fire. Either way, I must stop this evil force..." She eventualy told everyone of what she had just learned; they were taken by surprise. "Burned to the ground, has it?" one elf replied. "What will happen to the rest of us?" After the fire in the town died down, Ava went back down the mountain. She journeyed to many places: the forest, the lakes around the place, the caves in the mountains, the faraway desert... She found that many strange things have happened; one lake was frozen, there was a cave-in in one of the caves, there were numerous quicksand pits in the desert... "Evil must have done this," she thought, and continued her journey. I'll send you my sample RPG post in a little while... hope my signup was OK... I hope more people join becuase otherwise there would be too few--only two of us!
Arcadia
Ah, a little later than I would have liked, but here it is. Hopefully interest will pick up. ^_^ Name: Inwë Helyanwë Race: Elenath Tawaraith ? Star Elves Age: 429 Gender: Female Appearance: See Attachment. Midnight black hair, so dark it gives off a blue sheen, pale skin, light gray eyes. Ability: As one of the Star Elves, she has some limited magic ability, most of which comes directly from the stars themselves. She?s fairly versatile with her magic, and on top of that, can read and map the stars and their movements. Her biggest asset, however, is the power she can harness through her sleek sword, and as she?s beginning to discover, music. Personality: Inwë is a rather reserved woman, and seeks solitude more often than company. She?s quiet and sometimes even demure, but underneath all that there?s a strong will that refuses to yield. More often than not she?s the voice of reason within any group, and is a steadfast support should anyone ever need it. When she feels something, she feels it strongly, whether or not it shows, and more often than not she?ll have her own special way of showing this. She prefers to think things out instead of hastily jumping towards some conclusion. Inwë is much more comfortable around the few she is close to, and it is only in their company that she opens up. Rarely does she show affection, and Galdor is usually the only one who sees it. Weapon(s): Ithilmaeg [?Moonshards?] ? a thin, curved blade, made especially for Inwë by her kin, the Star Elves. Forged when the moon was at its peak, and when the stars were at their strongest during the year, it?s said that the blade has the power of the velvet heavens within it. Along with Ithilmaeg, Inwë carries with her a dozen or so small darts and for them a bottle of poison, as well as its antidote. Biography: Inwë grew up in Dôr Edhellen, and because of its high heights, has impeccable balance. She trained with her kin in their home close to the stars, and learned about the mysteries that the night sky held. Inwë was a quick learner and a hard worker and it didn?t go unnoticed. Occasionally some of the Star Elves would journey down the great mountains to visit their cousins the Jewel Elves and keep up relations, and vice-versa. A younger Inwë was chosen to be one of the youth emissaries that went down, but she opted to stay in her high city and continue her training. Truth was, she was still a rather shy elf and she preferred to keep to her studies, where she knew she was comfortable. As it came to pass some years later, however, the Jewels Elves came to her sparkling city above the mountains and because of her strong position within the clan, she was often present in their company. Thus, she became acquainted with a certain sunny, light-hearted elf named Galdor. At first she didn?t think much of him and his attentions at all, and was prone to ignore him or run in the other direction whenever she saw him approach. However, after some quiet conversations and insightful revelations, she came to respect him, if nothing else. By the time the Jewel Elves took their leave of Dôr Edhellen, the respect had grown into a secret fascination, and when her elders told her that it was time she stopped shirking her emissary duties, Inwë didn?t really mind. Around the same time, the Star Elf took up an interest in music, and more specifically, songs devoted to harnessing the power of the stars. She began to carry a small wooden flute with her wherever she went, including the jeweled city Mirdain Tawarwaith. It was her first time to that city that had earned her the nickname of enchantress (with her sorrowful melodies and knowledge of star-magic) and as most suspect, the devotion of Galdor. After that, the two began to visit each other regularly, though always under the pretense of emissaries, and thus helped strengthen the bond between the two elf kinds. Now, with another great war looming on them, they?ll need those bonds more than ever? *coughs*Corny ending*coughs* Mr. Joko, I just went with the bio.. ^_^;; Hope it works. Otherwise, we'll do lunch or something.
Vicky
I'm sorry if this is bad... but... I just typed LOADS and that stupid message came up, and I LOST IT ALL!!!! I was here for ages!!!! ... Sorry... it just made me MAD! Name: Aranel (Second name, I will get back to you) Race: The Wood Elves [Taur Tawarwaith] Age: 430 Gender: Male Apperance: www.raine-tech.com/images/89537309.jpeg Ability: Forest Elves, are faster, and more Agile than others. Aranel is also able to run at a very high speed while shooting arrows from his bow. Aranel my not have as much strength as some other elves, but he does have speed and technique. Personality: Aranel is normally nice, and friendly, but can also be nasy and mean depending on the situation. He does not lack understanding others, but when something is wrong with his life he takes matters into his own hands. He sometimes wishes to be alone when he cannot take care of the matter, but soemtimes he is nice, and trusty to others. He sometimes never does as people tell him, and always does what he thinks would be best, unless he knew the person was infact right. He rarely gets angry, but when he does he is not the person you would want to annoy. Aranel is... a nice Elf, serious, sometimes, but also mean sometimes. Weapon(s): ( http://www.bows.net/images/specialty%20%20longbow.jpg ) Longbow ( http://swordforum.com/fall99/garth-dagger.jpg ) Dagger Biography: Aranel was born where all Wood Elves come from, and at a very young age he learnt to weild a shot bow given to him from a warrior Elf. At first he was not what you would call... great with weapons, but as he grew older and more intune with his home, he began to learn a lot. He first learnt from many of the swords men around the woods, and they tought him a lot. By the time Aranel was a lot older, he began to get the hand of his weapon. He could hit moving objects easily, and also knew about a few techniques with his bow. As the time went by, Aranel began to guard the woods and lands nearby and defeated unwanted men and creatures. He learnt to protect other people, and learnt to shoot from trees also. He only had a shortbow at this time, so his skills where fine, but not very good. Aranel was one day given a longbow, as a gift from his father. It had carvings on the wood, and fine wood for arrows. No one knew what the carvings on the bow meant, but someday, Aranel would know. He still trained himself and kept the woods and lands around him clear from unwanted creatures. He still wanted to learn more, and just kept improving his skills. One day, he met a traveller in the woods, who had said to have been all over the world around. Aranel asked question about the world outside, and always the elf answered. Aranel was tought a trick with his bow, which is said to never miss. Before long, Aranel asked the traveller if he would train him, and he agreed. As the days and months passed, Aranel became skilled enough to shoot down a man atop the highest mountain. He was tought about the cities, creatures, and many other things around him. Soon, as the time came for the traveller to leave, he gave Aranel a small dagger, which was said to bring luck. Aranel never forgot what he had learnt, and kept the dagger for safe keeping. He began to protect the forest once more, but also learnt that the world around him was as important as his home. The dagger he used seemed to never miss when he through it, and Aranel always took it back no matter where it was suck. He decided it was really a lucky dagger, and it did help him. As he grew, so did his skills, and he learnt many ways of fighting, and lots of techniques. My other one was way better... DAMNIT!!!! Anyway, you wanted an RPG sample, right?

KKC
Name: Orophin Melwasúl Race: Jewel Elf Age: 353 Gender: Male Apperance: Orophin has midnight blue eyes and short black hair and stands at about 5'11. He usually wears a black tunic with a silver and green trimming of leaves and stones that seem to rap around the sides of the tunic. He wears a long sleeved forest green sirt under it and a green elvish tinic. He wears dark green pants and very light boots. Also has tan colored gloves and a Black belt. Example (but with the color change and with out the Chain mail): Armour: Ability: Like most Jewel Elves, Orophin is stronger than the other races. He can lift about 4 times his body weight and packs a strong punch and kick. He isn't as fast as wood elves, but does have very quick reactions and wearing armour doesn't really effect him. His special gift is the ability to throw his voice, which he can use to trick his enemies. Personality: Orophin is an elf that doesn't always understand the world. He isn't very wise like elves are said to be, but he has a stout-heart and is always craving for adventure. He has great respect for older and wiser elves and will always listen to what advice people have to give to him. Although he has a lot of confidence, Orophin fears failing the elves, expecially those whom he loves greatly. Orophin is carefree and loves the mountains like any other jewel elf. Death, to Orophin, is confussing and he seems to never understand it. Although young and not as wise as most, he is looked upon as a strong and stout-hearted elf who would do just about anything for anyone else. Weapon(s): Bow and Arrows: Each arrow he uses had dark green and black feather on the end and a more oval like shape in the front. The quiver of arrows is black with the same design that is on his tunic. The quiver and bow are both kept on his back. Twin Elf Blades: Orophin actually forged the two blades by himself (with a bit of guidence). On one blade, in elvish, it reads "Blade of Orophin Melwasúl" and on the other blade it reads "Strike strong or perish". Both blades are held on either side of Orophin's belt in scabbards of black with the same disign as his tunic. Biography: Orophin was born and raised in Dôr Edhellen and has only left the mountain ranges to visit the 2 other elf kingdoms. Orophin's father, Ereinion Melwasúl, was a great warrior in the war when the great weapon had first been created, but he died during battle, making a destraction so that his troop could retreat. Orophin never really knew his father because he was very young and his father usually fighting, and his mother, Fëanáro, died shortly after Ereinion's death. After both of his parent's deaths, Orophin was raised by an older cousin of his who had also been in the war. At an early age, Orophin learned how to wield an elvish blade and how to shoot a bow. He loved the moutain ranges and would usually leave before the sun came up and train in the area and wouldn't return until long after the sun set. Orophin would usually travel to the forests and train with some of the Taur Tawarwaith on using his bow. When orophin turned 169, he was givin the bow he owns now by his elder kin who had raised him, the bow was much stronger then the last one and Orophin became a good shoot with it. One day, while out training like always, Orophin surprisingly ran into a Elenath Tawaraith known as Eärendur Elensar. He taught Orophin how to fight with swords and other blades and even taught him how to forge these weapons. With a little bit of guidance, Orophin was able to forger his Twin elvish knives. Orophin is a great swords master and is usually involved with the governments.
Imp
OK, I just lengthened my personality and bio, so I hope I'm in now. I am SO looking forward to this RPG; it sounds fun! I may end up not getting things at first, but I'll catch on soon...
Gavin
Here we go, that's my sign up done and dusted, can we get this underway now. If you notice the similarity between the name of my sword and my character I assure you that it is pure coincidental but it is interesting what a coincidence it is. Name: Tathar Felagund Race: Taur Tawarwaith or Wood Elves Age: 497 Gender: Male Appearance: Tathar unlike most elves has long dark chestnut brown hair that has grown down to his shoulders, it is well trimmed and kept looking impeccable. He has watery dark blue eyes that seem to shimmer with an intelligence and an understanding of the world that does not match even his physical age. He stands just over 5'8" in height and weighs about 75 kilograms, he has a very athletic with very clear and well-defined muscles. Since Tathar is the eldest son of the ruling family in their sacred forest city of Esgaleryn he usually dresses in clothes that show his signs of regency. He will usually don white or cream pants with long grey leather boots and a shirt of a similar color to the trousers, these will then more than likely have ornate patterns in gold or silver sewn within them. He will usually carry his blade with him in a sheath by his side made of similar leather to his boots. When in times of combat he will usually wear the battle armour of the House of Felagund, it looks exactly like the armour that Elf [Can't think of his name] wore during the battle of Helms Deep. Ability: Tathar can run faster than any other of his kind can, whether it be on long or short distances he is unmatched. From a standing position he can leap about 2.5 meters in the air where as from a running start he can throw himself up to 3.5 meters. Tathar's bloodline appears to have made him the pinnacle of his races abilities. Personality: A calm and noble soul, Tathar has lived his entire life in the knowledge that he would one day become the Lord of the sacred Wood of Esgaleryn, even with this great burden Tathar has remained a regular person without his bloodline going to his head. He treats people as though they ought to be treated, with respect, dignity, kindness and compassion. He has often left the safety of the Veiled Woods to visit his counterparts in Othrondmir and Minuial Amru to seek guidance and knowledge on how best to serve his people, as well as to make new friendships with his kin who reside therein. As he is the representative of the Taur Tawarwaith at the Iaur Tirith he has developed a keen sense of strategy and warfare he has come to greatly admire and respect his counterpart Galdor Calafalas of the City of Othrondmir and of Inwë Helyanwë of Minuial Amru. Though he may seem to be more interested in becoming an effective and just ruler he realises that such things often come only after the blades of war have been drenched in blood. He is one of the most skilled swordsmen in all of the sacred Veiled Woods after years of practice and training, and his keen eyes give his a very accurate and deadly shot with his bow. Weapon(s): Fingolfin Felagund or The Sacred Leaf As already stated this blade was forged 957 years ago by the Forest Smith called Curunír on the Night of the First Greening, 600 years later it was given to Tathar by his father Lord Camthalion Felagund and is now used by Tathar Biography: Born as the eldest son to Lord Camthalion Felagund and Lady Nienna Felagund of the sacred Veiled Woods of Esgaleryn almost 500 years ago and although he has yet to take up the mantel of the Crown of Esgaleryn he knows that such a thing will not be far off. Tathar had a normal enough childhood from the view of nobility, he began his studies from a young age in all aspects that he would require as Lord of the Veiled Woods. These studies would range from diplomacy whether that be negotiations or the art of war to commerce and trade, it was quite apparent that he had an astute and intelligent mind as he quickly began to take a fast and yet firm grasp of his studies, which in turn greatly impressed his tutors. As he grew older it became more and more apparent that he took great interest in the world of Dôr Edhellen around him, he decided that he would visit the Halls of Othrondmir at the age of 39 [still quite young by Elven standards] so as the put his skills of commerce to the test. He knew that Othrondmir was famous for it's many merchants and for their keen business sense, it was well known that the Taur Tawarwaith are quite reclusive and prefer to keep their business to themselves so his visit to the Underground Jewel [as the common people call it] was seen as quite an extra-ordinary event. He was welcomed by the Lord of the City and shown it's attractions and intrigue with great zeal since it was as long as anyone could remember since they'd had a visit by one of the nobility of the Taur Tawarwaith. Tathar was most impressed by the vast skills and incredible beauty that lay within Othrondmir and so he decided to stay therein for a number of years so as to truly appreciate the city and it's people. He also chose to stay so that he would be able to learn from the great Library Vaults and to propose several trade agreements with between the Veiled Woods and the Underground Jewel. It was here that his skills of diplomacy and trade came into full effect as Tathar wished to see greater co-operation between all the races of the Elves within Dôr Edhellen. After 3 years of his stay Tathar had forged new ties between his people and the people of Othrondmir, and so he decided to return home for a number of years as to rest and to once again see the green lush of the Tree instead of the stone halls of Othrondmir. After an number of years at home once again he began to take the time to truly value the beauty of the Forest but also so realise why it was that his people were thankful of their secrecy and reclusiveness towards the other Elves. And so Tathar remained in the Veiled Woods for about the next hundred years so as to learn more from his father and mother as to become an fair and noble ruler of the Forest, on his 140 birthday he was given his blade Fingolfin Felagund by his father. His father told him that Fingolfin Felagund or The Sacred Leaf was a sword forged over 600 years before by a smith of the forest called Curunír, his father told him that this blade had been forged the Night of the First Greening [A time when the Leaves in the Forest return their green color after winter] and that blade held special powers for those who knew how to use them. And so Tathar decided after several more years that he would once again leave the Veiled Woods so as to observe the beauty of the Mountains of Minuial Amru to visit the Elenath Tawaraith or the Star Elves as they were also known. His visit was quite similar to that of his once a centre and a half previously in the Halls of Othrondmir and the Mirdain Tawarwaith, during his stay he was introduced to their young ambassador named Inwë Helyanwë who was a full 70 years his junior. Tathar found her quite intriguing even though she was still quite young and he now entering the time when he where he would no longer be considered young. They had interesting conversations and although Tathar had not taken a wife[ and he still hasn't] he felt that as much as he enjoyed her company she was not interested in him emotionally, and so as a parting gift he gave to her a small wooden flute of one of the Veiled Forests oldest trees. So he once again decided to return to the Forests where he chose to remain for the next few decades until the formation of the Iaur Tirith, it was now that he was asked to be the Taur Tawaraith Ambassador to the Council. Even though he is the eldest member of the council he has chosen only to speak when he feels it warrants it and to act only when necessary....

Pandemonium
((I hope I'm not too late!!! *begs and pleads* Ahem... yeah...)) Name: Tahl?nalque. She doesn?t have a last name, though she?s not actually sure whether what she has was originally a first of last name. She thinks that Tahl was the name given to her by her mother, but she barely even remembers what the she-elf looked like. Her full name now means the ?Blade Far Forgotten?. To her friends, if she had any, she could also be called just Tahl. Race: 100% mongrel (as she likes to say). She?s a half-blood, part Elenath Tawarwaith, born of the stars, and part Taur Tawarwaith, a child of the forest. Age: 437? she thinks. Gender: May be a half-blood, but she?s female through and through. Appearance: Tahl?nalque usually wears the clothing you see, though she also has a deep chocolate cloak that she can wear. Her long hair is usually pulled back, either in a loose ponytail or in some kind of braiding. Overall, her appearance set her apart from the usually, light sky or sea eyed, pale-skinned elves she meets. Abilities: In physicality, Tahl has inherited mostly from her Wood Elf heritage, her agility and speed are amazing, and she uses them in ways to compensate for her lack of great physical strength. But the blood of the Star Elves that runs through her veins seems to have added a little something extra to her abilities. The magical attributes of the Elenath have merged with the soul of the wood and things that live and grow, allowing her what she sometimes calls True Voice. She is able to speak and communicate with the green things that grow, as well as the creatures that may roam the earth. She was able to speak to the animals for as long as she could remember, but recently she has found other voices that answer to the True Voice. She does not have true magical abilities as most would think of, but it seems that the voices of the elements also speak to her now, the soft tones of Water and Wind being her closest friends. She cannot conjure up the power of water or bend the wind to her will, but she can ask them for simple conversation, guidance, or aid in times of need, though the elements are the hardest to Speak to, and usually fatigue her after a while. Sometimes the voices of the others can be overwhelming to her, as she is still fairly new in speaking with such powerful forces. When this happens, she often finds little rest, and much trouble. Personality: Her personality both shares aspects of the two races she comes from, and some that seem to have been a byproduct of the two merging. Though she isn?t really shy in nature towards others that she meets, she isn?t exactly outgoing. She has no problem communicating with others, but her words are often purposely misleading, hiding her true self and intentions. She never lies straight out, but sometimes she can dance rings around truth, and easily leads others to believe what they see fit to believe without having to lie. Perhaps it is a part of her power, or just that she has made it into her own personal art. Friendly enough, she is willing to help those that she sees in need, as long as she feels that they really are in need of help. Her major fault, though she?ll never call it such, is in the area of loyalties. She trusts no one. Ever. She will never truly entrust herself to something, nor will she allow anything to confide itself to her, if she can help it. Giving yourself over to something completely, whether it be a cause, or another person, no matter how loved they may be, is only a weakness that will lead to downfall. A lesson she has felt many times that she has learned. And so, she simply doesn?t. Simple. The ways she likes things. Unfortunately for her, the world isn?t all quite that simple, is it? Weapons: She has a long, slightly curved sword (shown in the pic) with a thin blade that she always carries. Despite the paper-thin appearance of the katana-like weapon, it is surprisingly durable, sharp enough to slice silk (an old Japanese tradition(?) of dropping a piece of silk over a blade and seeing if it cuts it cleanly) among other things. It seems to have a mind of its own, the dark silver blade sometimes reflecting that around it like a mirror, but hardly ever reflecting light. Its name is Draelond, which means ?Deep Harbor?, and it is resistant to many magical attacks, when it ?wants to be?. It doesn?t actually talk to Tahl, but she feels as if it can understand her, and has come to believe that it may contain a part of her father?s spirit. On one side of the blade near the hilt it the inscription, ?Neenah Kimayah Tesheeah? or ?The Heavens bar the way to a soul held in rage.? It was her father?s sword and mantra, and now both are hers to live by. The sheath is also very strong, a polished ancient wood with a twisted almost Celtic looking knot working at the end past the end of where the blade lays within. She also carries a small bag (also shown in picture, just under her hair connected to the leather straps) that is always filled with various herbs; those used from anything from poison to healing. Right behind that against her back is a small straight dirk named Aidan or ?little flame?. It looks simple enough, just a straight silver blade connected to a thick hilt. Until the hilt disconnects from the blade, the two joined by a thin linked chain of about five and a half feet maximum length. This she has had all her life, given to her by her mother. Bio: It all began near the end of the time of the War of Woe, when many lights were dimmed, and many taken by the darkness. A warrior of the Elenath Tawarwaith, known as Astarii fought with the great armies of light to beat back the Enduring Enemy. The small regiment that he was a part of was sent on a very perilous mission of helping to distract the Enemy while the Umdagnir was being hidden. Many fell in that attempt, other groups coming to their aid, the soldiers like toys cast aside in the Enemy?s wake of destruction and death. It was a massacre, but their mission was achieved, despite the horrible cost. Hardly any survived, many taken by the Enemy or never found. Astarii was presumed dead. However, instead of death, the warrior found a fate far crueler; his eyes taken from him by the ways of war, his spirit tortured by those who wished to break it. He wandered into the darkened woods, unexplored by even the Enemy?s masses for the risk was too great when waging the war against the light. There he was resigned to find his death, the bright flame of his soul nothing but cooling embers. However, it seemed that the great stars of the heavens had not given him over to the eternal darkness yet, and he found himself awakening to the soft smells of fresh earth and crisp water. A soft hand was placed upon his ruined eyes, gently covering them in a mint salve. He did not think such was the enemy, but he could not be sure, striking out with his magic as his sword had been taken. But the presence refused to leave, instead murmuring calming words into his strained soul, gentle and feminine. Her name was Eluana, and she smelt of morning dew and sweet wood. She was of the Taur Tawarwaith, hidden away from the enemy and living as peacefully as they could, ignoring the scent of war and embracing the calm spirit of the wood. She brought him healing of the body and mind, giving him peace he had long forgotten. They fell in love, against the advice of the elders of her kind, and against the will of her people and friends. Together they lived, ignoring the harsh words behind their backs, the glaring eyes upon their forms. Astarii loved this place, but his true nature kept him in his training in physicality and magic. His ability to call upon and wield the element of Fire caused even more rumors of him being a demon come to enslave them or some evil spirit come to bring grief to the people. When news of the end of the war reached the wood, he found that his soul would not let him rest, knowing that the Enemy was still alive. Finally, he could endure it no longer, and he told Eluana of his plans to leave. She, loving him so, let him do his will, despite the hurt it brought to her soul. And so Astarii left the Veiled Wood, unknowing of the child growing within his mate?s body. When the child was born, both mother and child were immediately shunned. Eluana?s body was weak, but the other Wood Elves refused to give much aid; even her friends looking the other way so as not to be considered in league with the elf who had given birth to demon spawn. They would not accept any change to their ways. The child?s original name is unknown, the elders refusing to help give her a proper name, as was often the custom. Driven by fear and this unknown feeling of hate, a small group drove Eluana and her small child out of the high city in the trees. She was forced to join a small band of outcasts, mainly thieves and killers who surprisingly took pity on her and protected both the woman and child within the outskirts of Esgaleryn. However, it was not to last. The Enemy had resurfaced, and with it the darkness began to seep into the forests. It did not touch the Veiled Wood, but Eluana and her ?clan? could not get food from the city and often had to venture out into the outer forests for supplies. It was there the darkness caught them when they were getting water. Most of the men died trying to defend Eluana and her child, though some were swayed to join the ways of evil. It was a valiant fight, surely heard by those up within the city in the trees. No help came for them. The lights of Esgaleryn dimmed, mist covering their form, blocking out the screams, dimming the scent of blood to something that could be ignored. Eluana was fatally injured, even so she fought back with her weapon. In a last attempt, she gave the weapon, Aidan, to her young daughter, pushing her into the narrow but deep river. It was the last Tahl saw of her mother. She wandered the forest for days, barely managing to stay alive, skirting the edges of Esgaleryn, stealing food from camps that she found unguarded. Finally, she was stealing a loaf of sweet bread when the owner came back. She fought him, but in the end was defeated, fire leaping from the strange elf?s fingertip and surrounding her. She stared up in wonder, remembering the tales her mother told of her father?s awesome powers. She had found her father. Astarii was appalled and heart-broken by the sad story his daughter told him of her existence. He wept for his beloved, making a solemn oath never to leave his daughter?s side. He taught his daughter everything he knew, and together they slowly journeyed away from the Veiled Wood. It was soon that she learned of her ability of True Voice. Her father planned to take her back to Minuial Amuru. Surely they would accept her. Accept them both. He rarely spoke of what he did when he left, but it was clear that he had never gone back to his home. He would never see his home. Tahl alone made it out of the deep forests, carrying her father?s blood stained sword, her eyes haunted and soul empty. From there, she has begun wandering, staying in the shallow edges of the forests and slowly moving outwards, making her own way, and occasionally stealing if she must, though she never takes all or harms any travelers. The ablitiy to speak to the Elements came soon after, though she has never been able to Speak with one of the elements. The great voice of Fire has been silent to her, its ears deaf to her Words. The one element she cannot hold communcation with. The Element of her father. She doesn?t have much real contact with many, but she seems, at first glance, normal enough. She has no real purpose, though she knows, that if she ever sees the dark steed of the Enemy riding down her path, she will make him suffer, even if it takes her last breath and sends her soul to the depths of the Nine Hells.
