As they walked, Riv and Toshi had gotten bored and Toshi did what he always did when he got bored, he started talking.
"So, have you heard of this new thing called a gun, it promises to be a really useful battle weapon," he was saying, he had been talking about random things to Riv who had taken up long division in his head to get his mind away from the totally uninteresting things Toshi was talking about. He would every once in a while nod or say "mm hmm" or "Really?" or "Wow" when he noticed that Toshi thought he was not listening. This was only every once in a while because if Riv had tried to talk, Toshi would have not let him get the first part of the first syllable out before he kept on talking.
At that moment Riv got wide-eyed as he saw the first familiar object he had seen in a human lifespan. It was a mountain, just hidden by the hill they had been walking up. Mount Kevanri, the mountain where he had slain Rimnil, the ancient Viru.
Toshi stopped when he noticed that Riv had too. "Whoo hoo" he said, then whistled to get his attention. "What," said Riv, a little annoyed,
"Why are you staring at that mountain?" said Toshi.
"We are nearing Mount Kivanri. We are getting close to Krii."
"Mount Kivanri!?! You mean where you killed Rimnil?!?"
"Yes."

Riv decided not to go inside the mountain and walked up to it, looked it up and down, then turned left towards the newly visible towers of Krii.

Veil saw Riv's look when he saw the mountain, and continued to watch his expressions. They had all heard the legends of Riv, but she wondered what it was really like to return home...she wondered how it really was to be a renowned hero. How would she feel if everyone knew about her life story?

Toshi was now asking Riv all sorts of questions about Mount Kivanri, "How long did you fight Rimnil? Was he really good? How did it feel when he died?" Veil elbowed Toshi in the ribs, hard. Toshi, pouting, finally shut up, noticing the look in Riv's eyes. Riv's mind filled with memories, and they silently passed the mountain.

Suddenly, Riv snapped to attention, sensing danger leaping from above, "Watch out!" he yelled to Veil and Toshi, drawing his sword...

Riv jumped off the ground into the air and clashed swords with a masked figure who had dashed out of a tree. The masked figure took a long katana out and slashed at Riv. Toshi drew his sword, that he had picked up before they left. Toshi ran forward and jumped into the air. He slashed the masked figure. They all landed. Veil took out her daggers. The man wore cloth over his face which only revealed his eyes. He also wore a shaman type cloth over his head. He stood up and started slashing at Veil. She dodged each attack. Toshi started running at the man.

Tr'shiel continued to eat a bit then saw Line occassionally glance up at her.

Tr'shiel looked back and began to feel her face for food. "What is there something on my lip or something, there sren't any crumbs?"

"No, no," Line said laughing,"there's nothing on you're face."

"Then what is it?" Tr'shiel went back to eating more of her food. Still looking at Line."

Line's faced had changed a moment, trying to determine if this was the best time to discuss Tr'shiel's past or what not. Probably thinking it may offend her. "It's nothing really," Line spoke before nibbling on another piece of her food.

"Anyone ever tell you you're a rotten liar," Tr'shiel asked trying to be funny with her comment. She gave Line a little laugh seeing the girl was ready her body language.

"Well then why don't you tall me what I'm thining, you seem to be able to read people well. Line said looking straight into the girls eyes.

"You wanna know about me, how I got here where I'm from and all the other stuff. No problem, I was waitng for the perfect time and I guess it can't get any better than this."

Tr'shiel put her fork down and took a small sip of water from her cup.

Well like I said earlier, I grew up in Linore, the small town near the coast. My parent were great, they always loved me as if I wasnt different. You know cuz of my skin, but then everyone treated me kindly because of who I grew up to be. A nice young lady."

"But where are you from." Line asked.

"I wish I knew, that's why I came here hoping that a library of some sorts could help. But then I met you guys and I can't wait to go with you all."

"What are you gonna do if you come with us Tr'shiel?"

She took note to the word if, it was only because she showed no signs of agression towards the group.

"Whatever I must, I'll fight, but I am really a healer of sorts and I prefer now to hirt people."

"What type of healer are you..."

"I'm not sure what to call it.. but when the time is right you'll see what I can do."

She sat comfortably in her seat once more and began to finish her meal. "Any more question," chewing a small mouthful of food, "don't hesitate to ask..just come to me okay...."

OCC: please check out my thread in recruitment (The legend of Riv: The legendary swordsman)

As soon as Riv landed he saw Veil being attacked by the masked figure. Suddenly he caught a glimpse of the man's face. He wasn't a man, but a woman. Riv stood upright and out of fighting stance, he said loudly, "Stop!" and the masked girl, Toshi and Veil stopped fighting and looked straight at him. "Rimnil was slain hundreds of years ago by me, I am Riv, or the holy swordsman. We pose no danger to you," Riv said to the girl. She then took off her mask and stared at him, "Riv? I thought you were only a legend, a myth, not that you actually existed!", "I do exist," said Riv, "and if you want proof, this is Lemaria, the mystical sword that I aquired in my quest to defeat Rimnil," he then took lemaria and held it in front of him so the girl could see it clearly.

"Oh my God! You are Riv! Please let me follow you to wherever you are going... Please?" she said.
"We are going to Krii to speak to the king, we have urgent news from the kingdom of Arrav," said Riv.
"I will escort you there!" the girl said as she took off towards the towers of Krii...

OOC: Veil doesn't have daggers. She has a glave and a staff.

The girl immediately started, setting quite a fast pace. Veil waited a minute before following, but after seeing Toshi and Riv go, she followed also. But some questions seeped into her head...why had that girl just automatically attacked her? The obvious choice would have been to attack Toshi, who was a prince, and who was the one that was supposed to deliver the message. Why had the girl attacked her?
Veil's suspicions were wiped out of her mind as they entered a clearing. Suddenly, they were surrounded by people dressed exactly like the girl. And...there was..a strange scent in the air that was lingering around their bodies.

Veil's eyes narrowed, "A trap. I knew something was wrong." She stepped in front of Toshi, taking a defensive stance. Her glave gleamed.

Riv also readied himself, but spoke first, "What's going on? We mean no harm to anyone, as I already told that girl. Let us pass peacefully, and we will do you no harm."

The girl now turned, and her face was oddly stretched...her voice changed as she spoke, "You may pass. And he may pass. But this girl cannot."

Riv turned threateningly, "Why? She has no business with you. And if we go, she must go with us." The figures swathed in cloth made no movement. They were all silent.

Suddenly, Veil understood, and her eyes narrowed, "It's no use. They're not what they look like. And only Creatures have that scent."

Toshi's eyes widened, "Creatures? They're Creatures? Are you sure?"

Veil nodded grimly, "I'm positive. I should have noticed it earlier, but I didn't, and now we're stuck."

Riv shook his head, "Yes, we're stuck, but we can get out. We'll have to fight, and Toshi, you better use that blade of yours this time."

"No," Veil said quietly. "We can't fight - it's hopeless. There are too many of them. Not even you can defeat this many. Especially not without training. I know a way out. You, both of you, hold onto my shoulders."

Toshi looked puzzled, "What? Hold your shoulders?"

"Yes, and hurry up. Hold on tight. No matter what, don't let go. And keep your eyes closed, or this is going to make you very very sick." Veil put her hands over theirs, making sure that they were holding on tight.

Suddenly, the Creatures noticed what she was doing, and started towards her, drawing their own dark weapons. They were fast...so unbelievably fast, like dark lines. Their faces were now stretched, disguises coming off, and their real bodies began to show.

"Close your eyes!" Veil yelled, and the sight was shut out by Toshi and Riv. Veil concentrated, following her training. She could feel the small ball of power...she found it! She tapped it, opening the portal, and suddenly, with a small heat wave, the trio was gone, and the demons were left with empty hands. They cursed in their dark tongue, and quickly dispersed.

Veil concentrated, training her gaze on the path...she couldn't miss it, because if they did, she wouldn't be able to get them out of the path. Different spheres of power zipped by, but she didn't tap any of them. She prayed that Toshi and Riv were still with her. Suddenly, the Gate blazed before her, and her feet were on solid ground.

"Where are we?" Toshi asked, seeing the Gate. Suddenly, dark shapes appeared in it, and Veil grabbed their hands again.

"Don't look! Close your eyes again!" She quickly tapped into another power sphere - they were numerous around the gate - and then they were on the dark path again. The hundreds of spheres were around them...all she had to do was make sure she didn't miss the right one...and there it was! She tapped it with her power, and then she closed her eyes. The familiar heat wave, and then, solid ground beneath her feet. She opened her eyes. They were outside the castle in Krii.

OCC- M'kay Sorry. But in exchange Toshi isn't a prince. He's just a common boy that the elder saw potential in.

Toshi was standing there tensed up. He still had his eyes closed. Veil and Riv looked down at him. They were taking this in. Toshi opened one of his eyes. Veil slapped him. "Ha. If we were still in that portal now I know you would've done that," she said. Toshi rubbed his cheek.
Toshi looked up at Riv for support but he wasn't concentrated anymore.
Veil turned to look at the gate. It was a large wooden door with golden handles. The castle around them was azure colored.
Riv walked forward. Suddenly there was a flash. Toku came flying out of the air. Toshi gasped and got out of the way as Toku fell towards him. Riv jumped out and cuaght Toku. Toshi looked curiusly up at him. Toku landed on the ground. "Hi guys. thought I'd come too. Did Asunen get here. We were supposed to teleport together," Toku said. Toshi shook his head. "No she hasn't," Veil replied. "But of course we just got here." Toku nodded. "Let's go then," Toshi said.

OOC: oopsy. I don't know what I was thinking of...why did I think Toshi was a prince? o_0

"What, and not wait for the others? What if they get here after we leave?" Veil asked. "Let's wait a little while."

"Well, fine," Toshi said impatiently. "Oh, by the way, why did those Creatures want you anyways? Explain that to us while we're waiting."

Toku looked at Toshi, "Creatures? Where?"

Toshi shook his head, "I'll tell you later, but right now, Veil should answer the question."

"Toshi, didn't you just see at all?" Veil asked, rolling her eyes. "The Creatures want me because I can tap and open the portals. I can actually go from the inside of the Gate to this world. I didn't this time, because there was no need to, but you saw it."

"That was the Gate?" Riv asked solemnly. Veil nodded. Another flash!

Asunan popped out of the air, "Hey guys! Glad we caught up! Line and Tr'shiel should be here right after me."

OOC: Time to join up again...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Asunan was still in the castle, wondering where Toku went. Wasn't she supposed to teleport with him? She thought for a moment, then finished packing. She didn't have to pack much; just a little leftover food. But the problem was, how was she going to get to where the group was?
Asunan sat down in a nearby chair and started to think and concentrate. By using her extrasensory powers, she was fortunately able to pinpoint their location; they were at the entrance to the palace of Krii, and they were just about to enter without her. Wishing she could teleport, she began to think frantically... "The group will enter the castle in about five minutes. Then, they will take a look around and look for the king. Then, they will warn the king about the oncoming attackers. Then, they will leave and head north, towards Razzaria and the countries around it. I shall wait there." And with that, she exited the castle and ran off towards Krii.
There were several Creatures along the way, but Asunan was running so fast that she managed to bypass them easily. After a little while, she found the gate and rushed into the castle. There, she stopped for a moment to catch her breath, and then she tried to figure out where the group went, closing her eyes as she thought. "Hmmm... Toshi and the others are about to see the king. But the king appears to not be where he's supposed to be... He's in his room. I must tell the others and then fetch him..."
Asunan hurried off to find the group. They were in the main hall, waiting for the king to arrive. Riv and Toku were pacing around the room, wondering why the king took so long. Veil and Toshi were sitting down and waiting patiently. "Hello guys," Asunan said, interrupting the quietness in the room. "Waiting for the king, are you? Well, he's in his room loafing around, believe it or not. I'll go get him..." "Asunan, how did you get here so fast?" Toku asked. "By the way, sorry about the teleportation thingy... gotta work on that..." "No biggie," Asunan reassured him. "I ran all the way here..." she said as she headed up the stairs in the main tower toward the king's room. On the way, she met a guard.
"No one may pass here," stated the guard. "I demand that you leave this tower." "I need the king to come down here," Asunan demanded. "We need to tell him something."
"We? Who's 'we'?"
"There are others waiting for him too."
"I'll go get him then."
Asunan waited silently for the guard to return with the king. The king finally arrived, appearing to be in a grumpy mood. "What do you want?" he asked in a bored tone. "Come this way," Asunan replied. She directed the king to the main hall, where Veil, Toshi, Riv, and Toku were. "Visitors, have we?" the king asked in a curious manner. The grumpy expression dissapeared like a flame being blown out.
"Welcome, visitors! Now what is your business here?" the king asked Toshi.
"We've come," Toshi declared, "to warn you about something."
"Arrav is about to be attacked," Veil added, "and we need your army's help, at whatever cost."
"Except death, of course," Riv continued.
"We will aslo convince armies from the North to join us," Toku added.
"Then, hopefully, we can stop the attacking forces and save the country," Asunan finished.
"OK, well... I think I may be able to help you..." said the king in an uncertain voice. He went into another room for a few minutes, probably to talk to the army.
"Well, all we can do now is wait," Asunan suggested. "Personally, I think the army will join us, but at a cost..." Then she drifted off into silence.
Later that day, Riv was wandering around the kingdom while ancient memories flooded his mind. He passed the blacksmith's workshop. He remembered when his father had paid for the blacksmith to make him his first sword. With a sudden rush of emotion he wondered where it could be after all these years. He ran and was on the verge of floating when he came to his old two story house. He went inside.
It was the same as he had left it, obviously no one changed it or let anyone in except to clean it after they had heard of his triumph over Rimnil. He walked quickly over to the corner by the window, YES! It was still there where he had put it before he went to the wise men who gave him Lemaria. It was a little rusted from time but the point was that it was still there!
He picked it up and swung it around a few times, it's balance hadn't changed, and it was light enough that he could toss it out of the window and it would most likely land at the beach by the eastern side of the inland sea. But he wouldn't do that because he was in awe of its existence in this era. He put it in a his belt on his side and went to the door, looked back at the room once more and closed the door as the first tear he had had for 50 years came down his cheek when he remembered that his father was dead and ran back to the castle.
When he got there he walked up to the guard, he was about 5 inches shorter than Riv but that meant that Riv was tall, not that the guard was short. He asked the guard where he could find the descendants of Riv's father. The guard was instantly not going to tell him until he knew who he was, he told him casually that he was Riv the swordsman and that got the reply, "Oh my God!" that seemed to be the common response to his name. The guard then told Riv that the closest relatives to his father lived, "Two blocks down, 5 blocks left, the 4th place on the right, ya can't miss it," and added, "may I see Lemaria, I have dreamed about what you have looked like and want to see what Lemaria looks like too. Please Riv?" Riv explained that he was in a hurry but that he would show him Lemaria when he got back from finding his relatives.
OCC: Now, back to Toshi and the others. I will extend on Riv's relatives on my next post.
Toku wandered into the library and looked for a book about this Riv charater. He found a whole section of books about him. So Toku picked out a book called "The legends of Riv the legendary swordsman " he begun to read it.
Chapter 1: As it began
"In the kingdom of Krii dwelled a great evil, a old breed of evil, a Viru, a spirit that dwells in the heart of all evil beings for it's own protection. This Viru's body, Rimnil it was called, lived in Mount Kivanri, and preyed off of the life of evil and maintained immortality unnoticed since the beginning of the world fifty-two million, one-hundred thousand, fifty-two years ago...
On that year, fifty-two million, one-hundred thousand, fifty-two years after the beginning of the world, a boy had reached the age of 15 and had finished his training to become a swordsman.
The boy's name was Riv, who would become known as Riv, the legendary swordsman of Krii.
One day, Riv was practing his technique in his room when he heard an explosion. He looked out his window to see what was happening and saw nothing. He ran outside to see if he could see anything there, he saw almost half the population of his town lying dead in front of him. He went to the wisemen of Krii and learned of Rimnil and what he was, and then he decided to set out on a quest to avenge the hundreds of people killed by the Viru."
Then Veil came in and said Toku its time us to see what the King says.........
Asunan waited for the king's return. Meanwhile, she decided to explore the castle; she wasn't looking for anything in particular. She went down all the halls on the first floor and found everything as boring as she had expected. But then she spotted a tower with no guard...
"I think I'll look around there," Asunan thought as she ascended the steps that led up the tower. There were a few bedrooms at the top, one of which contained two familiar girls and a few others... "Mereduin! Amarest! What are you doing here?" Asunan shouted as she looked around the room. She saw some other girls she faintly recognized. "Asunan, don't you remember?" Amarest asked. "These are former members of the Star Warrior clan. Of course, the good news is, we're planning to rejoin! Would you like to come along with us?" Asunan looked around; the other girls did look familiar. There was Letei, the knight that wished she were a fairy; Maina, the animal tamer and lover (she had a dog in her lap); and the longlost leader, Chiruni, a shapeshifter with a sword. Then there was a girl with purple clothing and a cape that Asunan did not recognize. "Oh this is Celestia, my sister," Mereduin introduced. Celestia just stared at Asunan. "You're a telepath like me..." Celestia said telepathically to Asunan. "I can say the same for you..." Asunan thought right back. "You're like a version of me without a sword."
Letei, Maina, and Chiruni gathered in their own mini-group and talked for a while. Asunan and Celestia became embarrassed by what they were talking about; both were able to read minds. "They want to ban me..." Asunan thought.
Chiruni walked up to Asunan and Celestia. She cleared her throat and declared, "Asunan, Mereduin, Amarest... I'm sorry to say this, but you three are going to have to form your own group... Don't worry, we'll keep the star spirit within us. We just can't handle you three anymore, and you always seem to wander off without us. So, without further ado, I officially ban you from the Star Warrior clan." Amarest muttered "What?!" under her breath. Then Chiruni continued, "Celestia, I know you want to join as well, but you can't either, since you are Mereuin's sister..." "I wasn't planning on joining," Celestia interrupted, "if Asunan was banned. The two of us are alike in several ways..." Then she turned to Asunan. "Hey, can I join your group?"
"Can I?" Amarest asked.
"As long as Celestia's joining, me too!" Mereduin added excitedly.
"Sure!!" Asunan replied jubilantly. Finally, back together again! "But..." she continued, with sorrow in her voice, "there is one problem. You see, I'm already on a mission with Toshi and the others, so..."
"No problem," Celestia said without sadness. "Just contact me if you need us. The three of us will stay together. We can convince the North to join the forces of Arrav."
"Hey, how'd you know about the king's plan?"
"Same as how you would know."
And with that, Celestia, Mereduin, and Amarest left the tower, walked down the steps, and exited the castle, heading North. Asunan also went down the tower, but she did not leave the castle. She still had to wait for the king's decision...
Toshi stood in fornt of the door the king had walked inside of. Suddenly the doors on either side of him opened. Soldiers were at them. A leader pointed his sword at Toshi and Riv who had just returned.
Riv's eyes widened. "What is this madness," he yelled. The guards didn't pay attention. Instead they attacked. Toshi jumped onto the chandeler on the ceiling. Riv drew his sword and attacked them. toshi then jumped of the chandelere. He started slashing the guards. Within a few minutes they were all on the floor. The floor was covered in blood.
"What was that about," Toshi said.
OCC: This is telling of Riv's trip to his relative's house.
IC: Riv stood at the plain wood door set in the plain white two story house on the avenue of six, took two deep breaths, and knocked. It was immediately opened by a sweet looking girl at about the age of fifteen like he had been yet still looked like. She said sweetly, "Hello, what business do you seek?" Riv smiled at her and said, "My name is Riv, the legendary swordsman, I would like to spend some time with your family." The girl's smile flickered for a moment, then she said, "I'll ask daddy if you can come in," Riv was amazed that the girl had not known who he was and instantly pulled him into the house. The girl disappeared into the house, leaving Riv waiting behind the now closed front door. After a minute the girl returned with an older woman, presumably her mother, and now she pulled him into the house.
Later, Riv was sitting in the living room talking to the father while the rest of the family had gathered to see him.
"So you are the legendary swordsman slash legendary warrior Riv are you?" the father had said skeptically when he met Riv.
"What about that legendary sword from legend, Lemaria?" he said equally skeptically.
Riv took Lemaria from it's scabbard on his back and held it out for all to see, "You mean my sword?" the father gasped and almost toppled his chair over, "you are!" he said amazedly.
Riv put Lemaria back and said, "I have traced you to be the remainder of my family of long ago, your ancestor Drien the food trader was my father, he died of disease when I was 14 and his wife, your ancestor Ilea, my mother, raised me still pregnant with my soon to be baby brother until I was 15. I am now at an unmentionable age yet still look 15. Anyway, the day after my fifteenth birthday the Viru," Riv paused as an angry shudder went through him, "Rimnil destroyed half the population with his control over the evil in the area. I just want to see my family again is all I came here for. That is all," Riv finished as a tear welled in his right eye and he wiped it away. The family of four gave him a group hug and the mother of the family (whose name he learned was Dimrelia) told him to stay as long as he wanted. Riv later learned that the father's name was Rivin, a semi namesake of Riv. He learned that the sweet girl that had opened the door was called Evie (pronounced eavee) and her 3 year old brother was called Thrilop. Riv stayed for 3 hours until he left to go back to the rest of his group. Veil asked him "Where have you been all this time?" Riv told her and she said, "oh," and they then joined with Toshi, Toku, Tr-shiel, Linë, and Asunan.
OOC: Hey, any of you wanna join Skitto's RPG (The Legend of Riv"? It's very similar to this one!
IC:
Asunan waited and waited for the king to return. Finally, a very grumpy king was stomping into the room, but when he saw Toshi and the others, he smiled welcomingly. "Sorry I was late," he said in deep apology. "I've been having trouble with our army. They have been..." While the king was talking, a strange feeling came over Asunan, as if something was trying to invade her mind... "Not to worry," a voice inside her head said, "it's me, Celestia. I've got bad news. The attackers are invading Krii. I see wounded soldiers in the castle there, am I right? The attackers are the cause of that. You should keep your guard up, and we're coming to help."
"...Asunan? Are you paying attention?" the king asked. "I said, Krii is being attacked and..."
"Yes, I know. Celestia told me."
"Oh, you mean from that little clan called the Star Warriors?"
"You know her?"
"Not really."
"So, are we supposed to stop the invaders?"
"How amazing! You read my mind!"
"Well, I can read minds, true..." Asunan blushed. "Let's move it, guys!" And with that, the group rushed outside to find out what was happening to the soldiers. Celestia's group was already at the site, fighting off the enemies. Toshi's group joined later, and the mini-war began... Little did they know that the attackers were only part of a giant army...
Riv stepped forward and yelled at the remaining Star Warriors, "I'll handle this meagre resistance! You step back!"
Riv then took out Lemaria and his eyes glowed a bright blue, Lemaria glowed the same color as his eyes. Suddenly, Lemaria grew to a giant beam of sword shaped blue light. Riv stepped and readied his attack, then swung at the whole force that was attacking the kingdom. Lemaria's light only slashed the attackers and their weapons but not items that were of Krii. After Riv attacked he held Lemaria out in front of him and the glow in his eyes and on Lemaria was gone. "As you can see," he said, "there are reasons that I have been revered as I have, I am the only person capable of controlling Lemaria's powers, and am very... long-lived because of it."
Everyone was amazed and stepped forward, they all were wide eyed with amazement at his power.
Toshi was on the archers tower examining the attackers. "their Morak's," he said. Toku stood by him. "So this is the power of Morak," Toku replied.
"Yes," Toshi said. He jumped of the archers tower and landed in the fray of the remaining demons. He slashed hard and effectivly. Many demons died. Suddenly he could see from a distance that there were more dmeons coming. 'Riv. Help," he said. In the back of this new army was a tall demon. he had one big crow wing coming out of his back. Toshi gasped.
Line and Asunan held the doors, or what remained of them shut so this army couldn't get through.
There came a roar form the demon in the back. He was Morak. And this army was bigger than he thought.
Toku jumped off the archers tower towards Toshi, Riv was already running towards Toshi himself.
They all battled lomg and hard until Celestia and the group came with allies from the north.
SO Riv Toshi and Toku all went to the side and took a breather.
An hour later they joined and found half of both sides had been defeted.
Everyone was fighting there hearts out, Riv was useing Lemaria and killing thousands of demons. Toshi was slashing away and the demons one by one, Toku was teleporting from demon to demon and cutting off thier heads and the girls were holding the door and whenever a demon got in the would kill them.
Blood splattered on the ground as Toshi took a swipe out of one of the demon's heads. He looked up at the leader. He was tossing dmeons away. He was heading for Riv.
"Riv look out," Toshi yelled. Riv looked up only to have to duck again because of a fist heading towards his head. Riv held his sword back and let it launch off into the demons stomach.
The demon roared as blood trickled down form it. The blood then was absorbed. The demon had just gained more power. Riv slashed attacking minion demons. The demon picked Riv up. he then tossed Riv into the castle walls. He crashed through.
Toshi saw what had happened. He slashed throguh demons and snuck up behind the large one. He stabbed it throguh the back of the head. It's brains were on Toshi's sword. Toku appeared behind Toshi.
"What the heck," Toku said looking at Toshi. Toshi drew his sword out of the collapsing demon. Riv stood up wearily. They retreated to the inside.
Toku seemed frantic. "Guys. Where'd they come from. I don't understand. Arrav was supposed to be their destination, not here," Toku said.
Toshi looked at the ground. he seemed so pained. "I can feel every one's pain. Even the demons," he said. "It's so scary." Toku eyed Toshi.
The armies fought long inot the night.
Riv ran back out to the battlefield, his eyes no longer glowed but seemed to be flaming with light blue flame as was Lemaria's blade. The flame extended and went to ten times the length of what it had become before and Riv lifted off the ground in a jump lengthened by his own willpower and spun himself around killing the whole army with a giant round sawblade of blue light.
Only one remained standing, it was the general. He was standing but not unscathed. He was covered with bloody slashes all across his flesh.
He said one word, "DIE!"
He ran towards Riv with impossible speed for his weight and slashed at Riv who ducked the millisecond long attack. Lemaria's light wavered and started slithering around like a dying snake in a campfire. The light kept going for the general and touched him and poked large gashes in his already bloody and scarred flesh. "Ahhhhhh!" said the general and he and Riv were fighting again, Riv was letting Lemaria fight this time though, he was sitting by a nearby house holding Lemaria's handle as the light fought a bewildered and dying general. Finally the great light pierced the demon general and instead of spattering in a show of gore, he dispersed into a cloud of dust and was dead.
Toshi looked amazed at Riv. "That's some mighty fine skill you have there Riv," Toku said walking up. Toshi was cut short by him. Riv seemed to be pained by that death. Something told Toshi that Riv was going to need some help.
Asunan and Line appared from behind the gates. "Riv are you okay," Line said. Asunan appeared behind. "You nailed that guy hard," she said.
Toshi walked in. "Good job Toshi," Line said. Veil walked up. "For once in your life I think Toshi. You've actually done something smart and courageus at the same time," she said. Toshi smiled. "Thanks guys," Toshi said. Toku smiled walking in. The girls just looked at him and left. Toku stood there. "Hey. WHere' all my congrats. I fought out there too," he said.
That night Toshi stood on the archers tower looking at the now bloody entrence to the kingdom. There were still dead beings lying everywhere. "This is just terrible," Toshi said to himself. "Yes. it is," Riv said wlaking up the archers tower. Toshi mover over to let him sit. "So Riv. That was some powerful attack you have there," Toshi said.
Riv nodded. "Lemaria is the strongest sword in all of Myrith (In case you didn't know Myrith is a certain cluster of Realms. The Realms you'll hear more about in the Realm of Reality story). Toshi nodded. "Many years ago. Actually before you were born I fought a great abttle with a dark creature Rimnil as you know. He was immortal. But something drove me to kill him. Something beyond my self," Riv said. "Oh. I've never shared this with you but your ancestor Ki and Toku's ancestor Kioto foguht alongside me in that battle," Riv said. Toshi gasped. "That's so weird," Toshi said.
Riv nodded. "It's called destiny," Riv said. He stood up. "You should get some sleep. Tomarrow we set out. We have to gathe more armies for our cause," Riv said. Toshi nodded. The sky seemed so pretty tonight.
OOC: Darn, I missed the fight!
When Toshi and the others woke up the next morning, they were taken by surprise. The castle had been wrecked, and certain things had been stolen. There were dead bodies lying everywhere in the castle, some with arrows stuck into them. Asunan recognized the arrows as she looked around--they were Amarest's...
"Amarest? Celestia? Mereduin?" Asunan called, assuming that the three of them had fought off a gang of demons overnight. She was shocked; she found all three of them lying on the carpet covered with blood. "Noooo!" Asunan cried, sobbing over what she first thought were three dead girls. But then, a realization came over her... "They're not dead, they're just sleeping..." she thought, breathing a sigh of relief. Sure enough, Celestia woke up...
"Oh, Asunan, there you are," she muttered sleepily. "It's kind of early in the morning, don't you think? We're so tired from fighting all night... Must get back to sleep..." "Well, if you're going back to sleep, you can at least try to not look dead," Asunan said, still sobbing slightly. "Can't...get...up..." Mereduin murmured, getting up slightly. Amarest woke up too, still tired like the other two. "Well I can't carry you," Asunan muttered, sounding slightly grumpy. "Can you, Celestia?" "Maybe... if I can concentrate hard enough..." Celestia sighed, closing her eyes then opening them again, her eyes and a little wand that she held glowing. She pointed her wand at Amarest and Mereduin, as well as herself, and just barely managed to levitate them telekinetically. She carried them into a naearby bedroom and placed them on the bed, all three of them falling asleep instantly. "Remember," Asunan reminded them as she left the room, "tonight, Riv, me, and the others are going to rally up allies from the North, and you three can stay here and protect the castle while we're gone." And with that, she left the room and joined Toshi and the others on their next quest.
Riv had to do one more thing before he left, and he went to the kingdom cemetery and found his parents' grave along with his brother's. The group followed behind him to the three headstones as he knelt before them and preyed. Tears welled in his eyes as he thought more and more about the family that he left and the brother he never knew. His anger at himself welled as inside his heart in the same way as his tears and he had to walk over to a nearby tree before it burst out of him. His eyes and Lemaria first glowed then burned blue, the light and innocent blue transformed to a hateful and deafeningly strong orange. Lemaria grew to the height of the heavens until it's tip could not be seen in the sky. Riv pulled it down with his will and the fire intensified, he swung at the tree with precision and speed. In 10 seconds the tree had been turned into hundreds of little cubes of dying wood that lay on the ground. For a moment there seemed to be a weeping trailing on the wind as if the spirit of the tree was weeping its own death and was gone. Riv now knelt on the ground weeping also, he had always been able to control his anger before and channel it. This time it was uncontrolled and vengeful, Riv hated himself even more for it.
By the time Riv and the others had left, it was noon already. Asunan was placing some of her arrows on her heart and on her head, making them glow a ceratin color, infusing them with a certain spell. Toshi, Riv, and Line were preparing their swords for combat. (Asunan foresaw more attackers coming; she told the group there was a huge army of them!) "Thank you, Celestia," Asunan thought, "for everything you have taught me about the use of magic in archery." She smiled as she thought about Celestia; now she seemed as special as she was to Mereduin, even though she wasn't her sister. Then Asunan stopped... "Wait everybody," she declared in a quiet tone. "I sense that more attackers are coming. We must be prepared and alert." "More of them?!" Toshi blurted. "Didn't we get rid of them all?"
"That was only a small portion of an amazingly large army. Uh-oh, I sense more coming--more than twice as many as before... We need help!" With that, she closed her eyes and tried to contact Celestia... "Celestia! Wake up! Trouble!" she thought. "More attackers are headed our way, and there's too many of them! We need help! And bring Mereduin and Amarest too!" Asunan prayed and hoped that Celestia could still hear her if she were asleep. She needed her help more than anything now.
