I agree that their songs are being overplayed on the radio. But it's not just their songs, it is every other popular song out right now. That is pretty much why I don't listen to the radio anymore. The cd was pretty good. I still listen to it off and on. My Immortal and Whisper have to be my favorite songs of theirs.

I agree they were being overplayed, in my area though, the overplaying has stopped. The only time I heard it not on a CD was on MTV. And I aalways thought MTV was trash anyways. Has anyone heard about a new CD coming out? And if so, when

I love Evanescence. Unlike some artists taht I won't mention, they lyrics are real. What I mean is that they sing about real life. And if you guys think Evanescence is totaly christian, well I don't think so. They only mention christ in the song Tourniquet. Yeah sure, some of you may be getting sick of hearing them but I don't. And if you think they are better groups out there, I don't. But that's just my opinion. Evanescence was, is and will always be my favorite band. But I'll go check out Curve. It looks like it's a good band.

I actually like Evanescence...first heard of them when their firt single was being played EVERYWHERE. Lol.

The problem with me is that I don't really listen to the lyrics a lot. I usually play music when I'm doing something [like schoolwork or....work.], so I tend to drift off and only listen to the melody and background music a lot. Low and behold. PIANO! It was amazing. I've never heard so many songs that I liked that mainly used the piano as the main instrument. It's probably because I don't know many bands, but I don't really care. >_>

My favorite song is 'Hello'. :)

I never cared for the band. Even when they first started, the music got so annoying to me it made me grind my teeth. And the video for Bring Me To Life is very similar to an Irish band's video for a song called The Ballad of Tom Jones, only a guy's haning off a car over a cliff instead ofa building, and that video came out long before Evanescence appeared. And they do sound Christain, which is fine since I'm a Catholic and all but I know that they must be for a fact since my private school played My Immortal for our Living Stations of the Cross. But I'm more into the older stuff for music, I even like the swing of the 40s, so Evanescence, never hooked me.

I love Evanescene. I did since I first heard them on the radio. I love there songs. I also think their music videos are cool too. I get a lot of grief at school, because Evanescene is "uncool". But I still stick by my opion and I still listen to them.

I don't like them at all. You could even say I hate them. I'm into rock, but not that kind of rock like...theory of a deadman, nickleback, evenescence...that kind of hard, but not so hard sound. All their songs seem the same, and I hear them alot so it makes me want to kill myself, so I usually just change the channel, or put some of my own music on.
And when she did that sort of acoustic song with that other guy...I dunno. I didn't even like that. The video was extremely cheesy.

Ah whatever. It doesn't matter much, but thats my opinion for you.

Lol, I'm Listening to her right now. Favorite song is "My Last Breath." I have every single one of her songs now. At least every single one to my knowledge. :) I think her music is beautiful, and very cool. Her lyrics get me every single time. "Missing" though is the one that gets me every time I listen to it. You tend to put yourself in memories when you listen to it, and it can really get you down if it applies pretty well.

Hmm... what a scary moment. I was just getting on my computer when i decided "hey, im going to go to otaku boards and see if they have a thread about Evanescence."

Anyway. Evanescence is my favorite band. I was introduced to them last summer, and, having their only official CD, Fallen, i am still not sick of them. I guess you could call me an "obsessed" fan, but i'd say youre not living enough. I have shirts of theirs, pics of the band ( but mostly Amy Lee ^_^) on my walls and binders for school, and have been to a concert of theirs.

I think Evanescence is one of the classic gothic/christian bands out there, and i hope that they live on.

Oh, and btw, their next CD comes out next Fall, for those of you that dont know :lecture:

I personally do not listen to Evanescence, as stated before there are much more talented bands out there with a similar style, as some of the ones that have already been mentioned in this topic I wont bother mentioning them again. But all in allI don't truly like those bands either. Most bands with women singing in it don't appeal to me, most, not all there are a few I enjoy now and then. But with the type of music I listen to it's quite rare to find any female vocalists. As for hating them, I don't, I don't hate music, I just choose to not listen to it instead of bashing it.
