stun gun Milly Posted January 11, 2004 Share Posted January 11, 2004 Okay, to start off, I knew this band for quite a while, but I never really made it a point to hear their music until now. One of my best friends told me to listen to their music and that I might like it. So I went ahead and listened to a few, and I loved it soo much!! It was awsome music, I had finally found something different and refreshing to hear. I lately bought their second album "Discovery". It's such a awsome album in my opinion. So what I want to know is how many of you guys have at least heard of them, and after you heard of them did you make it a point to at least buy a CD of their music? Also give opinions of what you mostly like about them. Also Daft Punk isn't really a huge band, it only has two French men ^^. But they make great music!! Then I was reintroduced by a good friend of mine *winks* and I got into them. I have a few of their songs and really like it! I like how its techno music. I've only seen one of their music videos, I think it was "One more time". I was only able to see the ending though. About their album? Well it has 14 awsome songs, and the time for each song is between 1 minute and 40 seconds to 10 minutes. The longest song is "Too long" Which is 10 minutes. Their album shows the two men, but it doesn't show their faces. They have a good reason for that. The songs are mostly from Techno to types of dancing songs, then go into relaxing songs. I was so fanatically into it that I had memorized time-marks of where cool parts were. I have another CD of theirs that I believe is titled Teachers, though I'm not sure. It is not nearly as good as Discovery. So far, they're the only techno band(?) I started liking this group way back when they showed the music videos on Toonami. I saw it and was like "This is so awesome!" so i promtly went to by the album. And i abosultly love it! my favorite are the first four songs, my fav of those being "Aerodynamic" that song is just so awesome. And then whe you watch the music video for it, the guys runs in time with the beat! they planned it perfectly. If you haven't seen the music videos, you really need to. They are great! (although i really don't see how digital love really fits into it...) I hope that the DVD they are suppost to come out with will add a little more than what I saw of them. I just think the ending needed a little more...but maybe that's just me. Back on topic, I love this group, and even went out to by their first album. But i have to say, I liked "Discovery" better. Just had a better flow to it i think. Heh...i wore my cd out, played it one to many times in the CD player, always having it on repeat during the night.....dad didn't like it that much.....i bet he trashed it on purpose...... My favorite is Aerodynamics too. I like the video that comes with it. It was sad how the band got captured. I bought their CD and I love it. It was called Interstella 5555. I wish I could buy it right now ><. Back to topic ^^. I basically love all of their songs on their album "Discovery". My other favorite is Aerodynamic too ^^.But most of their songs on that album are awsome!! I could swear that I'd heard "One More Time" somewhere else, but I still can't remember where. *shrugs* Oh well. They're pretty good. I like music I can dance to if it's not R&B or Pop. I mean, that's what it says on the front. It has all of the songs from "Discovery" on it, and just like "One More Time" the same people in the video are the stars. I don't want to give away the plot line or anything, let's just say that if you've seen all four of them, the story contiunes. And what a great story it was!!!! If your thinking about buying this, i would say go for it! it's a great piece of work, and you're diffantly not throwing your money away. If you are a true Daft Punk fan, it's a must have!!! I saw the videos on Toonami ages ago, too. I wish I could see them agan... *sigh* But after my recent manga-shopping sprees, I'm pretty much broke. Is that movie like the videos? I got their cd, Discovery, awhile ago and my friends got hooked. My favorite song is Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. I also like Too Long. They can't really sing and when they sing acopella (is that how you spell it?) it just didn't sound too good. They shouldn't worry about the singing. The music is great.
